  • Can I legally use a win7 32-bit code pro install win7 64-bit, if I have the 64-bit disc?

Recently, I accidentally bought 32-bit win7 online for a new PC I am building. I wanted 64-bit. I have a 64-bit version of anoterh installation disk I did and was wondering if you could just use the 32-bit code to install win7 64-bit instead of having to go through the process of return together and everything. Thanks in advance for answers!

The product key is not specific to architecture (32 or 64-bit), but the spirit of the OEM System Builder licensing is, both 32 and 64 bit DVD are sold separately and include their own product key.

If its OEM license that came with a new computer, you could of course just to borrow a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit DVD retail or OEM system builder DVD and use it with your product key provided with the installation of 32-bit, and nothing would be wrong.

There are two types of OEM suppliers. Royalty OEM vendors can distribute Windows products by using the preinstallation (SLP) product keys so that end users can bypass product activations. All other OEM vendors distribute Windows products by using the standard product keys that require the user to activate Windows products.

  • [s205] How to install Win7 x 64 from scratch on a new hard drive?

    Hello

I have a little problem to solve...

I own a s205. My hard drive died. I replaced it with a new one. After that, I tried to install Win7 x 64. When installing, it created 2 small partitions. It was strange to me, I saw him for the first time. Later, I read that it is because of the UEFI.

In any case, installed all good, but after installing the drivers, I have encountered some problems. Or net card worked. I started looking for information and I know that the problem is UEFI.

My question - can someone write a guide how to install Win7 x 64 on s205 in traditional mode, so everything should work as before? Unfortunately I didn't save the DVD or any other source of images of Lenovos.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b000: try to install win7 64 bit

Hey all, uh I got a "hp Pavilion sleekbook 14-b013au" to fix/installation of the new operating system, on, with a formatted hard drive, none of the scores of original disc hp exist.

They had the hard drive out, he reformatted into partitions of 2 x 250 GB and tried to install win7 64 bit on it, without success.

They tried to hook up the hard drive on a pc, installed the operating system that way, then tried plugging it back into the Sleekbook and should work.

They won't win 8.1 back on it.

I have a copy of work of this OS to a flash drive (used the "Windows USB/DVD Download Tool" to create a bootable flash drive).

I am unable to install this, as the laptop will not recognize the flash drive, after that Windows Setup starts. Help, please

    Hello:

    I have a few suggestions...

    1. you must ensure that the secure boot is disabled and legacy mode is enabled in the BIOS to be able to install and run windows 7.

2 make sure the flash drive is plugged into a USB2 port.  It will not work on all USB3 ports.

"My laptop HP550 with a 1.8 bicoeur processor will accept A Windows 7 64 bit operating system or should I stay with a 32-bit operating system." Any help will be greatly appreciated

Yes, you will be able to run Windows 7 64 bit on this system, but it may not be quick.

    -Your processor supports 64-bit.

-2 GB or more of RAM is recommended for the 64-bit version of Windows.Check your.

You need to install Windows 7 64 bit only if you have a reason behind choosing him over 32 bits. Personally, I would recommend that you use the 32-bit Windows.

and the type of disc is not the IDE.

Not sure why you would say that as an IDE hard can be extended with a vmware-vdiskmanager or virtual machine settings as appropriate in future versions of VMware Workstation.  I did several times that I can remember.

    Thank you!

This serial number does not help much. It will be better if you can display the name of the exact model laptop and the model number.

Anyway, visit Toshiba support and download page for your country and if your laptop model is supported for Win7 64 bit, you should be able to find all of the necessary drivers, tools and utilities.

  • Install Win7 64 bit update on the new build machine

Initially, I bought a Dell machine with Win XP installed on it, that was obviously an OEM installation. Later, I bought an update to Win7 (boxed version containing two DVD - 1 x 32 bit and 1 x 64-bit).

I looked at the product key on the System Properties screen and it does not contain the letters OEM, then it means that when I upgraded the operating system he converted it from version OEM to a retail version?

The reason for my question is that I intend to use this system for donor parts and build a new one, but it will contain a different MB, CPU and RAM, which if I understand correctly this is what the OEM versions are related to. Building the new system, I will seek to install the 64-bit version rather than the 32-bit on the current computer.

And just to confirm, the old system definetely will be out of use and therefore discarded. I don't mean to reproduce the number of facilities, any transfer from one machine to the other.

    Thanks in advance
    Steve

Hi Noel, thanks for your response.

I have to admit your backup response I expected in the case, but...

Since my original post, I have been informed of "Universal PID Checker", I used to check my current installation (the one I'm looking for scrap) and he informed me that I have a retail version.

If I will have to just suck it and see?

With a question mark above it, I do not want to splash out on a new license if it is not needed.

You will need to invest in a new full version license, because the machine you build will not have an existing previous license eligible to use the upgrade version.

You can try the following and see if it works:

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

I recently customized built my own office after months of searching.  Construction went better than expected for my first experience.  I used a 64 GB ssd for the OS install.  It worked with no problems for about 2 weeks.  I had a game installed ran without problems.  I installed another game during the film beginning computer frozen and crashed.  OK, I thought, it might be the problem of 5870 gpu or overtheating, but when I restarted windows wouldn't load.  I tried option fix windows then as being new to what I did a disc of recovery even as friends had told me to do.  Live and learn.  However, I then tried a new custom for the ssd Setup and got the error said.  I spoke to a support technique for the ssd corsair, and they thought she might have malfuctioned.  I RMA the ssd and now have received a brand new from the manufacturer.  Now, I tried the new custom on new ssd and windows setup tried to install for a while and then he said (windows could not format a partition on disk 0.  The error occurred when preparing the partition selected for installation.  Error code: 0 x 80070057.  Why should it work for 2 weeks then stop and now with all new SSD, same thing happened but this time windows will not even install at all.  I'm just frusterated.  Good but not very good software and programming.  My computer features: case 800 d corsair, asus p6td deluxe mobo, ati radeon hd 5870, corsair 12 gb dominator ram with flow air cooler, i7-930 with h50 cooler corsair, v64 ssd for the OS, 3 other HDD wd that is disconnected to the operating system load on ssd for sure, power supply modular 850w, controller of fan with more than 5 fans (7 in total) for the great cooling and sony CIFO dvd burner.  My time. were 19 c to 42 c according to bios mobo and probes of fan controller.  Please any help or someone has to meet this problem before?  Thank you for any responces.

Everyone, thank you very much for any help here.  My problem has not been resolved and Corsair now told me to RMA the drive solid state for the second time in the last three weeks.  I hope the new order arrives quickly and works on the third try with installing windows 7 64 bit on it.  I think that little they got tired of talking me on the forum of Corsair, but I hope that this is not the case.

  • BSOD when trying to install Win7 64 bit with the new motherboard

    Hi all

I have the following BSOD problem:
I installed a new motherboard in my system (a MSI P43 C51). Before that, I got a Gigabyte G41MT-S2P. The rest of the configuration is: Q9650, Thermaltake truespirit 90 cooler, 2 x 4 GB DDR3 1333, GTX 470, 750W PSU, case name, SATA HDD 500 GB, Windows 7 64 bit.

Well, the problem started when I tried to boot into windows with the new motherboard: I got BSOD 1 second after windows starts loading. I thought... new motherboard, install new windows, so I tried to install windows 7 64 bit DVD and USB stick, I get the STOP: 0x0000000A error during installation. I changed the HARD drive, thinking that it could be a bad sector problem, but no, the other hard drive behaved exactly the same thing. I got BSOD at 40% extraction, extraction of 90% and for the moment "Complete the installation..." ». I also tried to install with the stick of memory only one, spent between ports, everything. The material I have works, as I played on my PC every day in the last month and received no. BSOD, also had a small overclock the CPU and the GPU (100 MHz on the processor, that the old motherboard supported more than 343 fsb and about 100 MHz on the GPU). It was stable, no errors, no nothing.

My thoughts are only, after asking some knowledge that work in computer support, it could be a problem of version of the BIOS (BIOS is 2005..) and the fact that my Win 7 installation kit is without Service Pack 1 (a colleague told me that he had this problem for the PC more than once and after trying to install SP1 It went smoothly and without errors)

I just got a new "blank" DVD of Win 7 64 bit with SP1. What I'll try today is to Flash the bios with the latest version and install the OS on a HARD drive new, sealed. He could not be my system components, because they are compatible and they worked 1 day before with no problems! I have literally NO IDEA what could be the problem. Today, I'll try the installation of the new DVD and with the new version of the BIOS. If this does not work, I have no idea what I can do... It is a sucky situation.

If you have any suggestions, please, don't keep it to yourself :-D

    Thank you!
    Alex

    ==============================================

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Drivers could be at fault, however the problems of disk or security/antivirus/antispyware products are
just as likely to be the root cause that they can force a driver to corrupt or go out of bounds.
The video driver or something affecting it would be questionable.

At the end of this message, I'll post a bluescreen generic and in the next convenience store
How do to update the drivers and BIOS but also to check memory message.

    -----------------------------------

    BCCode: 0a 0x0000000A

    Cause

This bug check is issued if the memory paged (or invalid) is accessible when the IRQL is too high.

The error that usually generates this bug check occurs after the installation of the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS.

If you encounter a bug 0xA control during the upgrade to a later version of Windows, this error can be caused by a device driver, system service, an anti-virus or a backup tool that is not compatible with the new version.

    Solve the problem

If a kernel debugger is available, get a stack trace.

To resolve an error caused by the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Press F8 to character-based menu that displays the choice of operating system.
    3. In the WindowsAdvanced Options menu, select last known good Configuration . This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

To resolve an error caused by an incompatible device driver, system service, virus scanner, or backup tool

    1. Check the system log in Event Viewer for error messages that may identify the device or driver that caused the error.
    2. Try disabling the cache in memory of the BIOS.
    3. Run the diagnostics of equipment provided by the manufacturer of the system, in particular the scanner memory. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.
    4. Make sure that the latest Service Pack is installed.
    5. If your system has cards (SCSI) small computer system interface, contact the card manufacturer for updated Windows drivers. Try to disable sync negotiation in the SCSI BIOS, check the wiring and the SCSI ID of each device and confirming the proper termination.
    6. For devices (IDE) peripheral electronic integrated, set the built-in as only primary IDE port. Also, check each IDE device to the right setting master/slave/stand alone. Try to remove all IDE devices except for the hard drives.

If the message appears during installation of Windows, make sure that the computer and installed devices are listed in the list of the products tested Microsoft Windows market.

    Comments

Before upgrading to a new version of Windows, remove all third-party device drivers and system services and disable any antivirus. Contact software manufacturers for updates of these third-party tools.
