FSB only on Satellite 2410-304 s 100

Why ist the FSB to memory only 100 MHz instead of 133 MHz? I845 chipset can handle 133. Is it possible to change it?

Hello

I put t know where you found information about 100 MHz and 133 MHz FSB memory but this value has nothing to do with the chipset. The FSB processor supports 400 MHz.
What you can do is to use another memory support module.
I found an info that these modules are memory compatible:
PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51)

  • Satellite 2410-304: upgrade HARD drive

News, I have a laptop Satellite 2430-304 with a MK3018GAS of hard drive (30 GB). I would change this hd for one of them, MK4026GAX, MK6026GAX and MK8026GAX. The dimensions are the same, 2.5 ", 69,85 mm, 9.5 mm, 100 mm. could I choose one then no problem? Thanks, Javier Lido

    Hi Javi,

I swapped the MK3018GAS in my SA30 for a MK8025GAS without any problem at all. I think the only difference between the 8025 and the 8026 is the rotation speed (5400 RPM against 4200 RPM).

I don't think you should have no problem.

    Hi RedQueen

If the led of the reader (the one at the front of the car) is on at any time when you turn on the machine, I would say the failed drive and must be replaced.

  • Satellite 2410-304 s - differences between versions of BIOS

    Hello

recently I discovered that there is a new version of BIOS (1.40) for my 2410-304 s. The installed version is 1.30. Did anyone know which are the differences between these versions? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Sorry, Toshiba does not provide this information at the level of the end user.

But I can say that Toshiba does not provide a new BIOS without reason! So I think it's best to update the laptop with a new BIOS, when it is available!

  • New HDD to 120 GB in Satellite 2410 304

    Hello.

I bought the WD Scorpio 120 GB but my NB does not recognize him. I also tried my friends HDD (Samsung Spinpoint 120 GB) and it works (I could boot from the CD and see partitions). He tried my disc and it works too. So I guess that the HARD drive is not wrong. I'm now confused if my BIOS supports the 120 GB HARD drive.
    I'd appreciate any help.

    Hello

I wonder why your friend's HARD drive can be recognized on your laptop.
It's a 120 GB HARD drive but as far as I know the laptop supports only the following four formats of hard drives:
    -20 GB
    -30 GB
    -40 GB
    -60 GB

Usually you should not be able to use a 120 GB HARD drive.

    You can use:
    20 GB-> IBM IC25N020ATCS04; Toshiba MQ20ksf; HITACHI DK23DA-20F
    30 GB-> IBM IC25N030ATCS04; Toshiba MK30kef; HITACHI DK23DA-30F. HITACHI DK23EA-30
    40 GB-> IBM IC25N040ATCS04; Toshiba MP40KF; HITACHI DK23DA-40F
    60 GB-> TOSHIBA MK6021GAS

  • I can't hear any sound on my Satellite 2410 304

Hello! I hear sound from my computer. I checked it upwards and it seems as if a 'pilot rutin compatibility Microsoft WINMM WDM-sound' has a hardware conflict (I am transalting this directly from my computer Swedish if you correct me if I'm wrong). Now I know the problem, but not how to solve or what caused it. Could someone here to help me, maybe?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Try to remove the device (sound card) from Device Manager, and then restart the device. On this material clearly removed component will be detected and installed it again. Please check what will happen after that. If the problem persists please write again.

    Good bye

  • Upgrade the hard drive Satellite 2410 404

    Hello

I want to improve my toshiba Satellite 2410 404 with a hard drive again. For now I have just 30 GB drive and is not enough for me.

I checked three products to a new Toshiba hard drive.

    MK-8032GAX
    MK-1032GAX
    MK-1233GAX

The model MK-1032GAX 100 GB is my favorite and now my question is, if this drive work with my laptop (im going to install the drive in a toshiba technical station, don't do myself.) or if I have to change something with my mobile phone, update the bios or something.

Just tell me what I should do to work with this drive or if my laptop is not ready for it because it is nearly three years.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

As far as I know this laptop supports only 20 GB; 30 GB; 40 GB and 60 GB hard drives
I guess that a 100 GB HARD drive will not be recognized by the BIOS.

    60 GB MK6021GAS HDD
    MP40KF 40 GB HARD DRIVE
    MK30kef 30 GB HARD drive
    MQ20ksf 20 GB HARD disk

Hope this info will help you

  • Want to upgrade RAM HDD & on Satellite P10 - 304

    Help, please

I have a Satellite P10-304. There is only a tiny 256 RAM and 30 GB hard drive.
    Can I put both?

I was looking to upgrade to 2 GB ram at least and 120 to 160 GB of hard drive.
Looked at the pc world, I know not which is compatible with mine.

    Thank you

    Hello

Of course you can upgrade this P10.

The RAM can be upgraded up to 2 GB and you use PC2100 DDR - RAM modules.

I think that the laptop supports the HDD IDE ATA-5 and in my opinion, you would be able to update with 100 GB or 120 GB HDD

  • Updates to HDD on the Satellite 2410

I know that I can just paste any drive that will fit in, but my question is:

Can I use the CD of recovery came with my laptop to re - install windows XP on the new drive, or do I have to get a separate copy of XP?

The laptop model is a Satellite 2410 - something and has 30 GB and I thought I'd go for a 80-100 GB drive.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi James,

Your recovery CD will work with according to hard drive you choose to install.

Regarding your choice of reader please be careful with your choice of speed of rotation. Laptop cooling only for CPU cooler, so additional heat produced by your hard drive should be able to absorb naturally. Rotation faster speed 5400 and 7200 RPM naturally generate more heat and can cause problems for your laptop.

Obviously if you don't use of disk resources intensive applications this can be mitigated by leaving hard drive to power down when not in service.

Either by the way, I use a 5400 RPM 80 GB drive in my SA30 and the additional heat produced is that in evidence when I run a scan for virus/malware full follow-up of a defrag and full backup of the image and believe me the housing becomes very hot in the vicinity of the hard drive.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite P20-304 stops unexpectedly

I have a laptop satellite P20 304 coming sometimes turns off without warning.
The screen goes black and the power is off.

This sometimes happens during a search, but alos is writing a letter. If not necessary a high workload for the laptop.

Opening vents are free etc. I guess maybe an overheating problem, but wonder if this causes this kind of stop procedere.
Also - there no poping blue screen or report failure upwards by re-start such as "the system will be re-stored after a major system crash ect.

No idea what it could be.

I installed Sandra Sisoft to monitor the temperature, but it only shows me no module to control the temperature,
respectively, that it does not work.

My warranty runs out in June, so I want to make sure that I can claim any defect prior to that.

    Hello

It's not very easy to say why this laptop stops. It could be an overheating problem or a malfunction of the software. But I tend to overheat.
Well, the problem of overheating occurs due to her malfunctioning fans or malfunction of the equipment.
I assume that your warranty is valid, so I recommend you to check your laptop in service partner. Maybe, it can give you a good answer, why this problem occurs.
