Fusion 5.0.2 - OSX 10.8.2 - Windows 8 - Lync 2013 video freeze

Question, did anyone else out there running Fusion 5, OSX 10.8.2 and running Office 2013?

I'm back on a new MBP 15 "retina after using a Lenovo x 220 a year.

I had a number of odd issues with a virtual Windows 8 Enterprise x 64 machine, but the more annoying for a remote employee like me is the Lync video freezes.

Here is what happens...

I'm on a video chat... we use with Office 365 Lync... talk... then 2013 Outlook opens a new e-mail message... and bam.  My side the stream stops.  I have enabled 3D graphics.  I have folders to synchronize with the host active... know that it was a question in Fusion 4 fun, synchronized folders and the CPU usage... I even disabled the graphic option 3D... still not freezing.  I'll try a Windows 7 x 64 VM following... see if it does the same there.

It doesn't matter if I'm in Unity Mode, single window or full screen.  Same behavior of gel.

Screen Shot 2013-01-03 at 10.33.51 AM.png

3 hours later... How well does Parallels really impressed.  In addition, with the merger, I suspend normally the VM before you put the Mac to sleep.  With Parallels, I just close rMBP, let go to sleep, open it to wake up, and the guest operating system Windows 8 was right where I left it.  I did previously in merger but have had it crash on me when I do.  It seems to work a lot more reliable in parallel.

  • URGENT! After installing 6 Fusion and creation of new virtual machine with Windows 7, I get a message "VMware Fusion cannot enter the unit". WHAT SHOULD DO?

After purchase, installation and activation Fusion 6 with the license key, I had a library of VMS showing 2 Boot Camp partitions. It's strange that I only have 1.
I tried to activate them but received a message that it is out of date in 2 cases. (see annex 1)

I started a new virtual machine with a Windows 7 installation disc directly on my HD. I have provided a way to do this and followed the instructions of Fusion to the screen.

Apparently, everything went well and after several restarts, the installation appears to be over (see annex 2) I tried to open and run the installed Windows 7. I had however a window with the following message:

    "Pending the unit.

"VMware Fusion cannot enter the unit. Please wait until the unit starts automatically, or interact with the virtual machine below. ' (see annex 3)

Here Windows 7 seems to start but after a while with the home screen and of the Øresund finishing this window closed and open a new window called library Virtual Machine on the left showing the partitions of Bootcamp and the Virtual Machine Windows 7 x 64 and in the middle gray a representation of what is supposed to be the Windows 7 desktop. (see Exhibit 4). When I opened the settings button a window with different setting options pops up. This mark means to me that Windows is installed but the final opening isn't the case

When you quit Vmware Fusion indeed Windows seems to be close (see part 5)

What is going on? What has gone wrong? What should I do? I don't know how to solve the problem.

I should f.i. remove the virtual machine from Windows 7 and is free automatically made partition on my HD as the reboot with the Windows installation disc? or y at - it another way to enter the UNIT?

    Help, please!

    Thanks in advance

Your virtual machine is running. It is in the unit - which each windows gets its own window of Mac - and you have no application Windows running, there is no visible windows. You can start a Windows application in the start of Fusion menu in the menu bar at the top right, or turn on the Windows task bar on the view menu and start applications from there. Or use the view menu to switch to the Single mode or full-screen, which puts all of your Windows desktop in a window separate from Mac.

You do not have two partitions to Boot Camp on your Mac, you have two virtual machines named "Boot Camp partition".

The message about it being unable to enter the unit arrives while the merger is pending for the tools begin to run, because the tool is necessary for the unit.

  • 3.1EA1 - OSX problem coloring result window

I'm on OS x with the Look and feel of Mac.
I checked the option "checkerboard grid or pattern Zebra".
It is a nice improvement over the previous version, but I would like to change the colors.
I can live with the yellow and reddish Browns alternate pale colors, but when I select a cell or the cursor around a cell to another cell "active" Gets a thin blue border and the text goes from black to white.
On red light brown, it is possible to see the text, but it's a real eye strain.
On the clear yellow, however it is impossible to see what is the text.

How can I change the color of the text in the current cell or the background color of alternating rows?

  • Shows GIF file is not transparency in Premiere Pro Mac OSX, but display in Windows

I have the strangest thing that happens on a workflow in Premiere Pro CS5 and CS5.5. I imported a GIF file that has a border, but it is transparent in the middle to have empty show through. When you import the file into CS5 and CS5.5 on a Mac, the transparent part shows white.  When you import the it in Windows, it shows good transparency.  The workflow is HD and 30 frames per second.  I recorded the Photoshop file format PNG and PSD, without success.  What could happen.  I also sent the file to an Adobe expert and it has worked well on its system.  What setting could be spoiled in my Mac?  I thank everyone's help.

    Thank you

    FelizRunner

So, let me get this right... you open the gif in Photoshop and you can see the transparency. Then save you it as a PSD, but you still don't see no transparency on the body on a Mac. Just for the hell of it, open the gif in PS, make the background layer, use the magic wand to select the area inside the frame which is supposed to be transparent, and then press the delete key. Now, save it as a PSD with maximized compatibility and try again.

  • Wizard BootCamp 6.0.1 running on El Capitan 10.11.5 installs single partition BootCamp on the disc Fusion consisting of 128 SSD part G SSD and 3 TB of HARD drive on an iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2014), but not the part of the HARD drive?

How is it assistant BootCamp 6.0.1 running on El Capitan 10.11.5 installs single partition BootCamp on the disc Fusion consisting of 128 SSD part G SSD and 3 TB of HARD drive on an iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2014), but not the part of the HARD drive?

    This has two questions:

1 capacity of SSDS faster for Fusion drive has been reduced. Therefore less effective for the reader of the merger. For example if I need to create a partition of 80G for my windows bootcamp partition, only 48 G will be left in the drive of the merger.

    2. ability of the bootcamp windows partition becomes very limited, cannot be greater than 120 G.

    3. even when I try to fuse out of the drive of fusion in the 128 G SSD and 3 TB of HARD disk, and then run the BootCamp assistant to create the bootcamp partition start from scratch to reinstall El Capitan only on the HARD drive (without drive Fusion), it won't let me do anything, it just shows an error that says something like "a person has created additional partitions on this drive please select. another disc. But there is nothing else to choose.

Before my (5 K, 27 inches, end of 2014 retina) to El Capitan Yosemite, I was able to use the previous version of the wizard BootCamp 5.x to create the partition, bootcamp on the drive of the merger. And it will be divided in the fuser unit in two and insert the Bootcamp partition (with the size I chose, which can go up to 1 TB) between two partitions of MAC OSX.

The disk partitions resulting from it, will be the partition MAC OS x on the SSD, the partition MAC OS x on the HARD drive partition #1, partition MAC OS x on the HARD drive partition #3.

Then there is the BootCamp partition on the HARD drive partition #2.

Is there a way to get what I need?

That is what has been described in this notice of two canoes?

    Thank you.

After having worked on those weeks, I realized that I need very painfully (by first going back to Yosemite and bootcamp 5 to escape all the limitations of El Capitan and BootCamp 6) I want to share here. Someone at - it other smarter solutions welcome.

Note these steps and mentioned drivers only work for my version of iMAC, retina 5K late 2014. If you have other material, please search on the web to see which driver will work first. And all of these steps are destructive and assumed that you first take backup. It is only shared for interest only. Readers will have to bear your own risk.

    A. take backup

    1. take a backup completes my iMac Fusion Drive using Time Machine. Then restart with a Yosemite USB installation and select Terminal from the menu on the top bar.

    B. fuse out of the merger in two physical disks drive: SSD + HDD

    1. in the terminal, type the commands in show what the logical volume group ID and the ID of the logical Volume of the disc fusion)

    Cs diskutil list

    2. in the terminal, type commands for the fuse of the fuser unit and separate them to an SSD and a HARD drive.  Note: All data will be destroyed in the drive of the merger. There are many articles in this community on how this could be done,

diskutil cs deleteVolume Logical Volume ID

CS diskutil remove logical Volume Group ID

This should finish within 30 minutes. If you have taken more time, this means that your reader of fusion has been altered somehow.

I hit this issue too.  To use this command to remove the fusion drive hung up, and I need to do the hard to scramble a few sections of data in the hard disk partition table using the controls to tell the OSX this hard drive is a new without partitions:

    Cat >/dev/random /dev/disk0 (where/dev/disk0 is the SSD)

and repeat for disk1/dev/disk1 which is the HARD drive in my case).

This command will not return anything, but expect to press Ctrl-Z to end after 1 minute.

2 create independent partitions (non-fusionend) for the installation of OSX.

Borne Terminal output, and select disk utility, in disk utility, select the drive to HARD disk (and not on the partition), you will see the error message and you will be asked if you want to fix the fuser unit, click on ignore. Then wipe the HARD drive to create a single 'extended OSX journaled"named"HARD drive".

    3. Repeat step 2, and then erase the SSD drive to create a single 'extended OSX journaled"named"SSD ".

    C. install on the HARD disk as drive didier autonomous not fusion.

    1. go to Yosemite install screen and proceed with the installation of a clean copy of Yosemite to the iMAC. then connect you.

    D. use BootCamp Yosemite f5 to install windows.

    1. launch Yosemite bootcamp.

    2. check the two checkboxes for creating the USB drive to install windows 7 or a later version, and to download the windows supports the Apple software.  Do not click on the last box to install or remove windows pie creating real bootcamp partition again.

    3. it may take several hours to complete this function of your internet b/w and also performance of your USB drive.

    4. If you install Windows 7 (like me), then the downloaded drivers will not work for you, this will cause the issue of the device driver appleDSS.sys does not like this driver and others are too recent for windows 7 to use.  Also, your keyboard and mouse may not work even if you try to plug in a USB external keyboard or a mouse. You need to replace the drivers downloaded by others (the Boot Camp 5.1.5769 drivers that I find in this link: Software Support of Boot Camp 5.1.5769.) (Note: this driver is material specific only works for my iMAC model).  Once you have downloaded it, copy the two files in the root directory of the USB installation to replace the original ones. It's specific and material available for download somewhere on the Apple Site.

-From the Finder, delete the $WinPE$ and the Boot Camp of the FLASH PLAYER files.

-Expand the old drivers for Boot Camp 5.1.5769 (two records and another file) on your desktop.

-Copy the $WinPE$ and records of Boot Camp in the FLASH PLAYER.

    5. open Boot Camp Assistant again and only select the third option, install Windows 7.

It will show you the screen to select what installation disk, select HARD drive.

Then drag the slide bar to select the size of the Bootcamp partition for windows you want, knowing that there is a restriction for windows installed using training camp on a MAC that the last byte of the BootCamp partition must reside in the first byte of the 2.2 T of each physical hard drive.

For my case, I need only 500G for bootcamp and leaving behind 1.7 to for my MAC OSX partition immediately after the bootcamp partition and an another 0.8 T MAC OSX partition after him. 1.7 TB and the partition of MAC OS x 0.8 TB well exploited in the meantime bootcamp partition, will be merged into a fusion drive by Bootcamp. Thus, you will end up with total 2.5 TB of disk space in a logical drive - fuser.

Go to this link for more details on this subject: n-on-a-3-tb-fusion-drive http://twocanoes.com/winclone/support/installing-windows-on-a-boot-camp-partitio

    6. continue the process to partition the hard drive, then it will restart automatically in windows installation mode, install windows.

    7. once the installation is complete, check that windows is functioning correctly.

    E. Si you want to upgrade to windows 10 Windows 7.

1 if you plan to upgrade to windows 10, you'll find that the windows IE v.8 7 is no longer works and had many problems to load the page.  Then when you try to download the latest version of Internet Explorer, you get an error that you need at least windows 7 SP1 to support the last IE.  Life is too complicated, just download the google Chrome browser, then search for download windows 10 and then run the Microsoft valuation tool to upgrade.

2 but before upgrade you, unplug all your MAC USB drives, otherwise, you will find that, after having spent an hour downloading the windows 10 software, the upgrade will fail with the error "/ dynamicupdate...» ». It is an inexplicable mistake that no one seems to understand why. There are articles with proven results that the removal of all USB drives before running the windows 10 upgrade tool will correct this problem.

    F. reinstall OSX El Capitan

Once your target windows system (if windows 7, windows 8 or windows 10) works very well.  You can continue to create again your Fusion drive and reinstall OSX El Capitan.

    1. Insert the install of OSX Yosemite rear USB to the iMAC, and then select Restart Windows, or stop, and then turn the MAC once again.

    2. When you hear the ringing tone, press on and hold down the option key for 10 seconds. Then you release.

    3. on the selection screen, select start Yosemite OSX install drive.

    4. after starting, do not proceed to install OSX El Capitan again. But select Terminal from the menu bar.

    5. in the terminal, type the command 'diskutil list cs' and you should see nothing to prove that there are no existing fusion drive yet.

6 type the 'diskutil list' command to list all disks and partitions.

The SSD has two partitions, the/dev/disk0s1 of EFI (209 MB) partition and the other/dev/disk0s2 of OSX partition we created in step B above, called SSD around 121 G.

The HARD drive has two partitions, the/dev/disk1s1 of EFI (209 MB) partition and the other/dev/disk1s2 of OSX partition we created in step B above, called SSD.

    G. delete the logical storage of nucleus on the HARD disk drive and it refuses with the DSS to form a merger with faster performance disc

    1. Insert the install of OSX El Capitan rear USB to the iMAC, and then select Restart Windows, or stop, and then turn the MAC once again.

    2. When you hear the ringing tone, press on and hold down the option key for 10 seconds. Then you release.

    3. on the selection screen, select start Yosemite OSX install drive.

    4. after starting, do not proceed to install OSX El Capitan again. But select Terminal from the menu bar.

    5. in the terminal, type orders for (to show what are the logical volume group ID and the ID of the logical Volume of the logical drive). You should see the logical volume to basic storage group created using two partitions on the hard drive, 1.7 TB and TB 0.8 created when we run the Yosemite Bootcamp to install windows.

    Cs diskutil list

    6. in the terminal, type commands to delete logical drives from basic storage.  Note: All data will be destroyed in the logical drive.

diskutil cs deleteVolume Logical Volume ID

CS diskutil remove logical Volume Group ID

    7. tap "diskutil list" command lists all the resulting partitions. You should see that the HARD drive has the following partitions.

    / dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

    #: NAME SIZE TYPE IDENTIFIER

    0: GUID_partition_scheme * GB 121,3 disk0

    1: disk0s1 EFI EFI 209.7 MB

    2: Apple_HFS GB SSD 121.0 disk0s2

    / dev/disk1 (internal, physical):

    #: NAME SIZE TYPE IDENTIFIER

    0: GUID_partition_scheme * 3.0 to disk1

    1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1

    2: Apple_HFS 1.7 Untitled TB disk1s2

    3: disk1s3 Apple_Boot Recovery 650.0 MB HD

    4: Microsoft database BOOTCAMP 503.0 GB disk1s4

    5: Apple_HFS 801,4 Untitled GB disk1s5

8 type the following commands to create the logical volumes group, named "myLVG" (or the name) of fuser using the usable for OSX to the SSD and HDD partitions.

diskutil cs to create "myLVG" disk0s2 disk1s2 disk1s5

Note: Mark the group id of logical volume shown in the results.

In my case, I want to book the last partition as standalone partition disk1s5 no-fusionend, so I can use it to raise the back, or format it in FAT32 to allow the exchange of data between the MAC and boot camp.

So, I do not understand this last partition in the drive of the merger. in my case, the command that I used is: diskutil cs to create "myLVG" disk0s2 disk1s2

9 create logical volumes named "Macintosh HD" (or you call it) on the logical volume group we just created for the reader of the merger.

diskutil createvolume logical volume group ID jhfs cs + 'Macintosh HD' 100%

10 command "diskutil cs type list" to check the resulting fusion drive created.

  • Windows 8 / SDK WIndows Phone 8 on vmware Fusion 5.01

    Hello

I'm on VMware Fusion 5.01 under OSx 10.8.2 Cougar on mid 2012 MB Air with Core i7 Intel.

I try to use a Windows 8 VM for WIndows Phone 8 development. The SDK seems to work the emulater Windows Phone in one are HyperV VM (virtual machine under VMware virtual machine). To do this, I activated the HYperV support in VMWare Fusion)

    Hypervisor.CPUID.v0 = "FALSE".
    MCE. Enable = "TRUE".

in the .vmx file and got-> CPU and memory-> advanced-> enable applications hypervisor).

With these settings, I was able to add the HyperV role to WIndows 8 Pro and turn it on. However, the virtual machine (phone emulator Windows 8) in Windows 8 HyperV does not start (Windows Phone emulator / HyperV gives an error: "the specified for the virtual machine processor topology cannot be supported by the host...) »).

Is there a way to get around this in VMware Fusion? I heard there is experimental support for this in VMware Workstation 9 (Windows), you even be available for Mac/merged as well?

    Best,

    Juha

According to this article, this should work: http://vniklas.djungeln.se/2012/04/23/windows-server-2012-8-beta-hyper-v-enabled-inside-a-vmware-fusion-vm/

Maybe you have already followed these tips?

  • Which method to use 4 Fusion

I am a new macbook pro (13-inch i5) and a 4 vm fusion user. I replaced the hdd stock on macbook with a cruical 128 GB ssd. I bought 4 Fusion but has not yet set up, but my surfing online, I noticed that it seems to be 2 different ways to run Windows 7 on a mac.

    (1) directly to run Fusion installation with a cd Win7

    (2) firstly create a Win7 partition using bootcamp and then direct Fusion it

My current understanding, both run Windows inside OS x fine, but it seems that the second option also allows you to run Windows 7 regardless when you need the power and features of it. So it's better to go with the 2nd method, well sure I'm wrong somewhere here.

I understand how the 2nd option works, but the first, merge partitions the disk or how he manipulates divide between the 2 OS disk? or it doesn't?

In addition, I am a software developer and am not sure how to partition my 128 GB between OSX and Win7. I want to only install XCode on OS X, I want to install Visual Studio, photoshop, and illustrator on Win7, and it's almost everything I'm going to install. I think maybe give 85 GB Win7 and OSX the rest (about 40 GB). This seems like a good split?

    Thank you

    Hello

If you run with the only Fusion, the virtual Windows machine is a set of files from your Mac OS X partition and you don't need to partition your hard drive. This is, in my opinion, a huge advantage over using Bootcamp.

I suggest the #1 option, create a virtual machine with an installation of Windows DVD.  If you don't like, you can then try the #2 option.

  • Genuine Windows 7 on MacBook Pro running in the partition, BootCamp with VMware Fusion 3.1

I'm having a problem with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

I installed Windows 7 on my Bootcamp partition and until recently he worked well as well when I ran into VMWare Fusion.

When I boot on my Windows 7 on Bootcamp partition, everything is OK.  But then when I run it in VMWare Fusion it says that my copy is not genuine.

I just went through the automated phone system and entered the codes, and so now while I'm running Fusion Windows is genuine.

I fear, however, that when I return to the execution of the partition, Bootcamp, Windows will say that is not true, once again.

Only, I have a copy of Windows 7 and can only run from the VMWare Fusion or Bootcamp partition at any time.

How can I fix it if Windows is more said that it is not authentic, when I switch from a training camp and VMWare Fusion?

I need to be able to run Windows while I'm on the side of Mac at the same time

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you used the same Windows Installer Bootcamp, VMWare Fusion product key, there is the question.  You can only install and activate a 1 license of Windows 7.  The second installation requires own license that you can buy on the Microsoft Store. Carey Frisch

Finally, I made the mistake of clicking on the green button zoom on the merge window, waits that will expand the window to the maximum size (with a window border) under the Fusion menu bar.  Instead, I now a window full-screen OS X with no menu bar merge and no ability similar to exit full screen mode.  Since there is no window border, there is no green button to zoom out the window.

Move the mouse to the top of the screen displays the merged menu bar.  I am able to stop the virtual machine.  But when I restart it, it's back in fashion full screen.

How can I escape mode full screen?

    -Ward

    Hi Ward,

To exit full screen, click on the view menu in the toolbar and choose the command window.

You can also use the following key combination: "control-command + f" (can be used to turn on/off n/b full screen and single window)

About the resolution of the screen, have you tried to install VMware Tools?

If not, click on the Virtual Machine > install VMware Tools.

  • 7 - fusion '3D Acceleration requires an update of the VMware tools in the Virtual Machine'

    Hello

I installed the free Fusion 7 trial this week on my iMac and subsequently installed Windows 8.

The resolution of the screen under Windows is very low compared to the Mac OS.

In addition, I have the warning message in the Windows display settings:

'3D acceleration requires an update of the VMware tools in the Virtual Machine'

I also note that the display driver in Windows is the display driver database with Microsoft.

A few weeks ago I installed version 6 of Fusion and it worked very well.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    John.

Take a look at the installation and the use of the VMware tools and more spicifically to manually install or upgrade VMware Tools in a Windows Virtual Machine.

If by chance, VMware Fusion is not properly mounting image VMware Tools windows.iso file then you have to do it manually.  It is located in "/ Applications/VMware Fusion.app/Contents/Library/isoimages/windows.iso" and will have to be copied, not moved, in a location that is accessible out of the bundle of VMware Fusion.app as the office.  If you need to do this, you can right click on the bundle of VMware Fusion.app see the content of the selection box and access its location to copy.  To assign the windows.iso on the CD/DVD image, take a look at: Connect and Set Up a CD/DVD Drive

  • Fusion 6 crashes on startup

I just upgraded from Fusion 5-6 Fusion.

"The last time you opened VMware Fusion,

Windows. You want to try to reopen its

    Windows again?

When I click on "reopen" the virtual machine library opens then merge crashes.

I removed the VMware Fusion.app directory and reinstalled Fusion 6 and I

    Download the same accident.

I have re-uploaded Fusion 6 and re-installed and it crashed again.

    any ideas?

  • Kernel panic when suspending VM Win7 in Fusion 5

Well, I just had to update my corporate network password, so I was disconnected my Windows 7 VM and then signed back with the new AD password. Everything is connected normally. I went to suspend the virtual machine and about two seconds after, I get the beach ball which do not spin, then a kernel panic and my MacBook Pro that it recharges.

After restarting, I close all unnecessary applications, go to the Fusion 5.0.2 still once, start my Windows 7 VM (which is now Windows notification was not closed down properly I want Mode without failure, etc - I'm saying no, start Windows normally).

I connect to the computer virtual (and network), using the new word password and all is well.

I hit the pause button to pause the machine and I get the same beach ball frozen, panic the kernel and reboot my MBP.

The kernel panic reports that VMware Fusion is the offending application. I can't otherwise plays a large part of the Journal report. And I don't know how to recover if they stored somewhere on my machine.

Can anyone help? Should I uninstall and reinstall Fusion 5? I'm not sure that the change of password is not important, but I don't know there is something interesting in the newspaper report that would indicate where to start...

    MacBook Pro

    15-inch, early 2011

    OS X 10.8.2

    Fusion 5.0.2

(also, when checking for updates to Fusion via the menu merging, I get a box that says that VMware Fusion could not check the updates. A certificate error for the update server. Check your internet settings - internet bonnefin works very well, since I'm entering this post on the same computer.)

I worked with KarriC offline to understand the panic of the host.  It turns out that we have a solution already in place to answer the question; It will be delivered in the future updates to the merger.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation, KarriC!

  • VM Fusion 4 - access to the Web server

Is it possible to put in place the VM Fusion 4 with a server/service on a Windows XP image (or 7) web.

I saw suggestions on how I can access web server/service of the Mac, but not from the wider network.

    Thanks in advance.

    Lee.

Do you have properly configured the host firewall and firewalls or for test purposes temporarily disabled all firewall?

I do not see the status of the firewall host, but by default it is and would block incoming requests.

Firewall host is defined as follows:

    Firewall:

    Firewall settings:

Mode: Restrict incoming connections for specific services and applications
    Applications:
    QLEnableXRayFolders: allow all connections
    com.getdropbox.Dropbox: allow all connections
    com Skype.Skype: allow all connections
    The firewall logging: Yes
    Stealth mode: No.

That would certainly block communications in this scenario.
