• subnets and alarms - FxM / FMS

  It is a question of both parties;

  We have a portal that we use FxM and FxV FMS systems to monitor the traffic of users and the application servers.  The FxM I defined a certain number of subnet mask definitions depending on the type of users on our system.  Filter mask Eash can cover several subnets.  Users of type A may be the IP (subnets) ranges and type b users would come over the IP address ranges associated with subnets.  Its all dependent on the range of IP addresses used to access our system and all this seems to work very well.

  I want to try to do is to create an alarm when all traffic on subnets from Type A (through multiple companies) falls below a fixed threshold and the same Type B subnets.  As seen below, each subnet in the FxM definition can include subnet ranges 4-5 - so there would be not bad to try to put in a single rule.   This alarm would indicate that there is a problem of backend associated with servers that process requests user Type A or Type B of separately.

  Subnet 1 for typical business has X:

  Subnet 2 for Type B Company X:

  So my question is this - is there an easy way to do it on the FxM?

  My second question is - the notions of subnets transmitted upward to the FMS or trace the overall traffic on subnets or creating alarms it?

  In the definition of FxM alarms, select your metric to alarm on. I chose the number of downloads for the category called subnets. When you have selected a metric, the alarm setting will allow you to choose regular expressions.

  I am a new user of Foglight and have the FxM and FxV FMS all setup and ready to go. I would like to create a dashboard on the FMS who watch, 3 services we have built, at the level of the system data for example CPU/MEM etc and the ISP that is in the FXM. On this dashboard system and service data are all good, how data ISP of the location of the FMS to the regions more slow example, Top 5 slowest ISP, etc. in my dashboard.

  Hi Greg,.

  In the IU FxM under configure/Reporting/Foglight Metrics, you can set what parameters are sent to the management Foglight (FMS) server. Options include Applications, city, country, region, metric subnet and the SOAP server, but the ISP is not available here.

  Potentially, metric ISP may be accessible by using a SQL query on the database of FxM.

  without getting dumped on VRP, is anyone aware of any revision of the 'fair' tool that would compare the the quest tools like FxM and FxV FMS tastes of IBM Tivoli (ITM, ITCAM, desire, etc.)?

  I'm knowledgeable enough about the capabilities of Foglight, but not so much for the competition.  I get pressure to make statements of 'cover' and others.

  Pointers to these documents would be appreciated.

  I recommend that review you the Gartner Magic Quadrant report for 2011 for the Application and monitoring of performance. Especially the region on upgrades warning for modules of the end user under the Division of IBM.

• How to remove old Services of FXM of the dashboard of the EU in the FMS

  How to remove old Services of FXM from edge of the EU in the FMS?

  We have removed the few services of FXM, but again, we can see that in the EU in FMS dashboard. Please suggest measures to clear those FMS.

  End-users objects exist generally in the administration server > data management (note the fxm and fxv nodes)

  

  but they may exist in other places (according to what dashboard they appear on).

  The caution would be to open a support case and support check that right objects are deleted in the right place in the data tree.

  Hello, is it possible to configure alerts of FxM in foglight to application-specific thresholds? How can we determine the optimal values for the alert?

  I ask specifically rule processing time Service level agreements (apnps) (EUMetricContainerPercent), when we added the components of the application to follow us left the off the field values to see how everything worked and now we are at a time where we need to adjust the rules to how the application behaves normally. I don't know what is the best value in select service level threshold for treatment time in the configuration of the components of the application.

  I think I was going to set the threshold for the level of service of processing time, I would like to start with the list of resources in the drop of the analysis.  If I'm picking for a component of the application, I select the component of the Application and then choose the specific resource for which I want to put the limit.  You will be presented with different statistics for this resource for any interval or the desired period.  You can also view the base line.

  This information should help you choose the appropriate threshold.

• Foglight FMS does not

  Someone can give me advice, why my FMS seems not respond when you click on the Infrastructure, hosts etc. The same seems to apply when you click on a dashboard. The blue circle little turn for a while, then disappears, without results.

  It's very frustrating.

  This is usually caused by either churn topology or lack of memory (i.e. the constant creation of new objects of topology in Foglight), which is quite expensive.

  Shortage of memeory is easily diagnosed on the dashboard of Management Server + diagnosis + Performance .

  Churn is a little more difficult.

  To check the rate of churn, create a support group, download and then look in the file DiagnosticSnapshot_YYYY-MM - DD_hhmms.txt-+ - "

  A little down, you will find:

  Is there a way taken in charge to change the version of the groovy used by the FMS for the script of the rule? Or is there the intention to do this in a future release? Groovy version 1.7.6 is relatively old...

  I can't speak for the team of PM, but I know it was discussed and things are upgraded at any time.  You don't know when is the next major update.  That said, he would not have cared to upgrade these yourself and could cause problems on the system.

• Link to integration with Foglight FxM and FxV scheme?

  I was able to find the architectural diagram Foglight on this forum and also want to access a diagram that shows the general communication between the parts of the end user and how they integrated into the FMS.  Anyone know where I can get this?  I tried searching for it on the Support Portal, but also here, but have had no luck.

  Basically,.

  The integration of FxM is made by a cartridge that is deployed on a bed and FglAM the database of FxM

  The FxV integration differs FxV takes the initiative and comes directly into contact with the FMS.

  Shouldn't be too hard to get to the top.

  My client pointed out that the agent of FxM was not activated, it created a new agent of FxM under another FglAM. There are now data for the associated FxM 2 topology objects in the console Foglight.  He now sees duplicate applications for registrations in the Foglight dashboards.

  Y at - it a utility or a script available which can merge data from an agent of FxM?

  My client is interested in the subject of topology FxMApplicationResult in particular.

  How to open the files .fxm and .fxr with fax windows 7 & scan?  These faxes have been received when I had Windows XP.

  Hello

  A file with FXR and FXM file extensions is a Document received from WinFax.

  You can open the FXR and FXM file by double clicking on it and let your PC decide which default application should open the file.   If no program opens, the FXR and FXM file, then you have probably an installed application that can view and/or edit FXR and FXM files.

  You can use a Notepad or another text editor to open these files.  Number of files is files read-only, which means little matter file extension, a text editor may be able to view the contents of the file properly.  This may or may not be the case with FXR and FXM files, but it's worth a try.

  How a FXR and FXM files:
  There are two ways to try to convert a file to a different file type:

  a. open the FXR file in its default program and choose to save the file open in another file format.

  b. use a softwarefrom online file conversion to convert these files to another file format.
  
  Note: using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

• FMS does not capture the FXV Transactions

  Hi all

  We use FMS 5.6.4 and FXV 5.5.8.1 that we have configured some transaction filters in FXV in order to get a detailed view of all pages is captured in FXM. The problem we face now is, FMS is not a collection of transactions, we created in FXV, but the shots become collected (not all). For this reason, we are forced to use FXM for services on FMS, which consumes a lot of space of FXM.

  Could you please suggest if there are ways to get the FXV transactions or do we have to do any configuration parameters in FXM or FMS to push transactions...

  I don't see the response time in your screenshot.  You say home of ELM' must be the response time, not the number of stricken matches?  Normally, we see the number of matches hit for the success of filters and transaction.  So you can see the volume of corresponding visits over time.  Then, you can click on the bar graph to drill down in these visits.  For related performance focus, often a hit 'Page for X seconds' filter is created.  So when the number of such visits is displayed, you can easily see where you had performance problems and drill those.

  A month or two there are yall really helped me when I tried to create a metric derived for number of CPU.  That's what we were using.

  It still works very well for what I wanted, but I see several errors in the FMS logs about this derived metric.  I think I need to scope it better so that these errors do not appear in the newspaper, but I'm not sure what it takes to reach.  Any help would be greatly appreciated! It is currently limited to HostCPUs

  Here is an example of the errors that I see in the log file, I guess that's because a value is zero, but Im not sure how to modify the code to check that.

• URGENT: Flow drops FMS 3.5

  We had a license FMS 3.5.1 running for a long time now (about 3-4 years). Everything was good, only a month ago, when a new bug was introduced.

  The bug is a little vague, and I could now followed it correctly, so the advice is much appreciated.

  System Specs:

  FMS 3.5.1

  Fedora 12

  http, mysql, php

  1 processor,

  1 GB OF RAM

  The bug: when everything works well, the stream becomes suddenly dropped OFF... no warning... and sometimes, Brooks would start to have huge latency times, then they would be to file.

  Approaches to solve this problem:

  1. I've been watching the Console FMS, found that the CPU has high peaks (i.e. reached more than 75% for long periods)... then I thought it is the CPU and I increased 1 CORE to my server... but the problem does not go far.

  2. using the top on Fedora command to monitor the CPU and RAM, I found that the RAM was almost complete (and complete several other times), so I increased the other 1 GB of RAM... but still the same problem... and the 2 GB Rams now get almost full in several times.

  3 revenue changes in my software (thinking that this bug can be caused by a software bug)... but the problem remains. So I put back the changes.

  4 - research in newspapers: I found that this line is repeated too many times:

  Assert failed in /FlashPlayer6_02_FlashCom/shared_tcserver/tcparser.cpp line 109

  Don't know not which means... and could not find answers on google... so I was hoping I could find some answers here.

  It is so critical that customers are beginning to be frustrated for the disconnection and having to reconnect.

  The FMS seem to have a problem with leaks on the version you are using. Can you please update the FMS 3.5.7 lates bits? Its an update of free maintenance that should be available @ http://www.stage.adobe.com/support/flashmediaserver/downloads_updaters.html

• AS3 via an Fms Server

  This is a mutual question as3 and fms, I'm not sure - an experienced user can help in this forum, but...

  In my flv file, I have 500 hundred videos of small size (20 seconds if - 0,80 MB wise bytes) in the library. In a test, randomly tese Inc. 6 come out on the screen and since this is a test, if you choose the correct video, the next question (another 6 videos randomly come and so on...)

  I have 2 questions here

  1. my swf works well with 20 videos (flv playback) in the library, but when I filled the library with 500 of them, is there a problem of size possible because of the ability of libraray (I think that the scene is not a problem because only 6 videos are available on the scene every time)

  2. If I publish this swf in the net and use a fms server to make it possible that everyone can use the swf and videos at the same time.

  what capacity I'll choose as -? How many people at the same time. There are options like 100 people-300-500 people at the same time. But in brief in my library I have videos and randomly 6 have500 on the scene.

  If you import these short video files in your Flash movie, you don't need to use a Flash media server. In any case, you probably don't want import 500 video files in your movie. At the very least, that will make a unique 400 MB file that your user will have to handle the download.

  If you only 6 videos at the same time, you can randomly select 6 to view, download and use. Continue to download 6 at a time as needed as the program continues.

  The number of users should have little or no effect on the ability of the server to meet the demand. Each file is small and calling to 6 at a time won't cause tension on a server. Yet once, there is no need of a Flash media server.
