  As far as I know no (other than the Task Manager) CPU meter comes with all versions of win 7.

  I did restore of the system a few days ago and now my gadgets do not work properly.

  I tried to use most of the advice in the forums, except that one is regedit, because I'm not comfortable with it.

  Yesterday, when "awakened" computer HP dv7 laptop, I noticed the current temp for the gadget weather has not been demonstrated, but rather a range scheduled for Columbia, SC showed. I did a Google search and saw answer to a similar question has been for the gadget to uninstall and reinstall. When I did, I rebooted and then the gadget showed temp for the new YHork, NY instead of Coljumbia, SC. I select the options on the gadget icon, enter postal code and/or the location of the city and get "site not found". I can walk into any city and get the same result.  I then added gadget weather Bug and it works properly! I know you could live with it, but I prefer weather because it is smaller. I ' ved did a system restore and had no effect. Suggestions? Thank you.

  Unfortunately, Microsoft has stopped support for Gadgets and recommended not to use them for security reasons.

  UAC (User Account Control) is turned off? Gadgets will not work if you have turned off UAC you'll need to turn it back on it. If you still have questions after that only to try a system restore to a time where they worked as it may be a problem of corruption/system registry.

  Basically, RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are updated by a task configured in the Windows Task Scheduler. I suggest delete the task and re-create it to see if the stream gadget works.

  Steps to delete and re-create the RSS feed

  a. click Start; on the start menu, search type Task Scheduler and press ENTER.

  b b.. on the View Menu, select the option 'show hidden tasks'

  c. in the left menu, select "Task Scheduler Library". In the central section, right-click on the "User_Feed_Synchronization" task, then select delete. Exit the Task Scheduler.

  d. Select Start then click on all programs

  e. click on Accessories.

  f. right-click "Command Prompt" and select the "Run as Administrator" option.

  g. click "Continue" at the user account control prompt.

  h. in the command window, type the following command and press ENTER.

  msfeedssync enable

  This command will replace and update the task "User_Feed_Synchronization".

  Note: This will not affect the news FEED that you subscribe to.

  Oepn an elevated command prompt.  To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right clickguestand then clickrun as administrator.

  Type the following command and press ENTER:

  Regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll

  You should see the following message after running the command:

  DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll successful.

  Out of the Windows Sidebar and re - open again. To exit Windows Sidebar, right-click on Notification of Windows Sidebar icon and chooseexit. If this does not help, restart Windows and see if the calendar Gadgets make properly.

  -In addition, if necessary, please test this under an alternate user account.

  Method 1:

  Method 2:

  This may be caused by corruption of the gadgets. You can try to restore gadgets.

  To do:

  1. right click on the gadget.

  2. go in properties.

  3. at the bottom of the window you will find a tab to restore Gadgets installed with Windows, click it.

  This will restore it to the default setting. This should get your time and work of Gadget RSS.

  Method 3:

  If it does not restore gadgets, you can use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow the link below.

• Gadgets Windows has Stopped Working - constant crash after downloading third-party gadget

  So, I just installed windows 7 and I advanced and installed a third party gadget (pandora).  When I went to connect to my pandora account, he does the rest of my fall of gadgets.  Now, any time I try to delete a gadget or load one of them, I get a message that appears stating that the Windows Gadgets stopped working.  I can't understand how to remove a gadget without loading each of them.

  Thank you very much for the suggestion that I had not thought of that.

  What I ended up doing was a system restore, which fixed the problem beautifully.  I hope this helps anyone else with this problem :).
