Gaming laptop FPS varies greatly

Hello :)

I had a problem going on with my FPS varies in games. My laptop is more than capable of getting 100 fps on LOL (low settings and optimized for FPS max). However the issue I'm having is that my FPS tends to change drastically for long periods of time.

For example, right now, my fps is 30. However, in about 30 minutes (the time is random), my FPS can jump up to 100 images/s and to stay there for 6 hours. It can also happen the other way around (100-> 30). The strange thing is that the variations of FPS are usually diagnosed as overheating but my laptop is sometimes better after extended use which does not question of heating.

Any help greatly appreciated (very annoying problem)

I think to buy this laptop, but as it is again the details on the web site seems incorrect. I called HP sales on this subject and they have as far as I can tell just told me that the site has already said. Can someone tell me if you can upgrade the memory in this laptop? According to the maintenance manual, he seems to have two Dimm slots and only uses one. Sales of HP, he has only one. According to the Web site and sales the network port is 10/100. Really? If this is true I didn't someone did something today that was not capable of 1 Gbps. Any specific help would be great. I can not even find any quickspecs on it.

Its definitely 10/100 ethernet cable which is actually still quite common on laptops of point lowest price. It is also certainly 2 slots of memory and accessed by removing the lower cover. Motherboard removal not required. 16 GB maximum RAM. You have seen the repair so I won't be posting that. I'm not also see specific profile for this particular model apart from that:

699 pounds or about $1100 dollars, it's a very good deal. You have a concert 128 SSD m2 and a storage drive, nVidia 950 graphics with a non touchscreen full HD and a pretty gnarly CPU. It is better than the cheaper omen without the trappings of fantasies by $400 and should run right to the top with him, if not a little better. I have a HP Omen lent me to help with my work here. It has a touchscreen, but I find that redundant and would willingly without him in particular to a $400 discount.

Honest to goodness isn't really need 16 GB of RAM, but you can add another module of 8 GB if you wish.

  • HP Envy 14 w / Nvidia GTX 950 m: degradation of Gaming Laptop HP Envy

    Hello

I recently bought my laptop HP Envy a year ago and I used it moderately for school and work. I made sure to buy the GTX included 950 m graphics card so I could play some of my steam games and I'm just starting to achieve a degradation in the performance of my laptop. I do not speak of degradation when I bought the laptop so far but I'm not talking about just playing a game and having amazing performance (graphics on medium-high and about 50 to 60 images per second), but after like 5 minutes of play he is slowly starting to soak as 14-15 fps. In particular, I tried playing Overwatch today and had an amazing gameplay for the first 5 minutes, but I dropped up to 15 images/s and it's hardly playable. I tried to change the resolution and that seemed to have fixed however the same problem happened five minutes again.  I have no idea why my laptop it would especially since I have not really used a lot for the game this year and I'm sure to maintian computer performance by updating the drivers, reboot often and defraging.

    CrazyAce

I think that I finally found a solution to the problem. I was on my laptop of friends (which is similar to mine) and noticed that she had not updated its geforce experience. So I've updated for her and she began to notice the same problems I had. It turns out that this experience of NVIDIA GeForce is not really necessary for the games because it does not include the graphics driver. So as soon as I uninstalled, all started to run surprisingly. Time just in the better together performance and faster startup, no fps drop. Who would have known to try to uninstall the software, only that I have to refer to the graphics card to make my graphics card will be smoother and does not affect my computer.

Thanks for the time to help out me if. I'm so happy that I figured this out.

  • Laptop HP 15-R204NE: Gaming Laptop and battery

I recently bought a laptop and I'm ready to play CS on it, I play it and the most important thing to come between the two is the battery, I have my laptop up to 97% of the charge and give him a little rest, then I turn and nothing else except to run it but it seems to give me enough time I play almost like 6-7 online matches and my battery goes down to 30-40%.

Is anyway to get the juice the most out of your laptop battery? I thought to keep my laptop plugged everything playing, but which will ruin the battery completely of course. Except that I was told by people to remove the battery and run the laptop with AC power, but that will of course do my laptop more prone to the consequences because I do not trust electricity here in my place.

I'm not a pc game right now because of some problems and I probably guess that I won't in the future, what do I do?

    suggestions are appreciated.

    Kind regards.

Of course it is.  Plug the AC adapter all in game.  N ° it won't ruin the battery. All you have is to ensure that you go through a charge discharge cycle once a month or more. My laptop batteries last me usually about 4-5 years. It's a little longer that most of the people get out of them.

That's what I do when I have the game on my HP omen product loan.  There is a member of HP who designed the Voodoo PC back before being bought by HP and integrated into the fold. We discussed a similar problem and it does the same thing I do when the games on a laptop.

  • Pavilion 15 t-ak000 CTO: new laptop HP Pavilion Gaming

Just a heads up to help save other some frustrations. The new HP Pavilion Gaming laptop (model #: M0U20AV) doesn't seem to be evolving. Unlike the previous models of Pavilion 15, you can remove the bottom cover of the whole keyboard motherboard to upgrade the disk modules and memory or hard. This is not the case for this new version. The back cover when its the LCD hinges aren't seperatable. You can separate the front of the rear/keyboard by about 2 "cover after removing all the screws, including those under the battery and the cover hinges. You need to apply the pressure necessary separation "uncomfortable" to do it well.

Allows you to reach the 2 locations of memory dimm - so if you ' r brave enough to try to replace them. You will need almost three hands to do! Be warned however I tried to replace the module HP single with two G.Skill PC1600 DDR3 faster, memory sticks, who worked in a new laptop HP Envy and older models but do not work in this model. Since this is a new cpu/motherboard Skylake there is really no 3 bars of memory left there but I could find. I did research the same part of Samsung memory that came with it, but its quite expensive, so you might as well just get memory improved when the purchase of the laptop.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a blow against HP. Its a portable game good entry level at a fair price. I just wanted to give the do it your self s valuation heads-up play to help save time and trouble.

Thanks for the video link and the quick response!

PS: The two screws from the middle to the rear under the two stickers are the ones I forgot.

  • NVIDIA cards in the workstations for laptop

I am looking to buy a laptop soon and will install Adobe CC.

In most standard video card seems high on nvidia m2000m, (hp, msi, B & H).

Can anyone recommend a laptop brand that is built with a more powerful video card (or the 2000 m will be enough)?

Comments most Adobe users seem not to be very positive for this particular card... seems to be lacking in many ways.

I'm going to run & gun, using canon xa10 video shoots, with fast 'night' edits, for the most part, the images, the AE for text and effects, projected on a screen 16: 9, 1080 p projection video.

    Thanks for any suggestions...

With the codec from your camera, a gaming laptop Asus solid should be good... or similar.  Your camera records 24 fps or 30 fps AVCHD 1080 p.

Being that your camera does not 4K, even a slightly older model laptop computer could be considered, if your budget is limited. My Asus G750JW 2014 works very well with 1080 p, as your camera generates, even with several video tracks and effects.

New models of laptops offer much better performance and options... especially for higher speed storage, which is important for best performance.

    General recommendations:

    1. choose a computer laptop which is 32 GB of system memory already on board, OR free and ACCESSIBLE locations for you to add memory yourself. Tests have shown that recent versions of the body to make use of greater amounts of system memory, when they are available. 16GB is OK, but, far from ideal... 32 is the best for a minimum with the current organization.

    2. you MUST have a laptop with a NVidia GPU accelerated discreet top-level for CUDA performance... NO AMD! At least 4 GB of video memory DDR 5 should be on this GPU.  A 970 0r m 980 m would be great.

    3. the current 6700 HQ or better intel i7 CPU is what you want. Although 'only' a 4 core, (8 wires), CPU, its performance is good thanks to its "turbo speed" on all the threads under load.

    4. the speed of the readers of storage in a laptop is essential to good... using a spinning, mechanical hard drive in the execution of process edition wil GIMP. Select a model that can provide the flexibility. Some models from Asus with a fast SSD as boot drive... some even come with a newer SSD PCI connected to a slot m2 for amazing speed. THEN, a standard 1 TB HD spinning is included in a drive Bay 2.5 "HARD. If this is the case, you would like to take the rotation of the disk and replace it with Crucial MX200 SATA III SSD (or Samsung SSD Pro 850) and THAT make your boot disk, using the SSD PCI incredibly fast as the unit that contains your media, files project, saw exports and file cache. You want your support to be the fastest disk that you have for better performance.

Select a machine that allows you to have a minimum of two SSDs separated... one for starting and one for all other files except OS, programs and files Windows page... at least, that should be the only files on your startup disk.

  • Qosmio F60 - overheating and FPS fall games

Also while gaming, I get drops FPS while playing, even though I used to run a game on high 60 fps, without drops, now it's on low-head up to about 6 times.

Sorry but here a few questions to better understand:
Are you using the original Toshiba preinstalled the operating system or your own version?
Toshiba display driver you are using.

    All vents are free?
    Do you use new games?

Do you use the maximum level on the graphics settings in the game?

Have you tried playing with the power and graphics settings to see if the result will be a little better?

    Toolayzie, welcome to the forum.

The video card you listed should work on your computer.  However, I suggest you contact Technical Support from the manufacturer for help to choose the best card for your situation.  They will be able to get you a card that will be much better.  I love EVGA products.  Their Technical Support (1-888-881-3842) is very good.  I believe that you can be able to upgrade to an EVGA GT 640.  They are a little hard to find, but worth the search.  Something more recent need UEFIin the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.

The power supply (PSU) you listed is fine.  However, I suggest that you look at a modular power supply.  They only connect the cables which are absolutely necessary for your components.  This allows better air circulation and reduces the heat in a medium-sized case.  You should compare the measurements of your current diet to one you choose.  Corsair is passionate about quality products with a reasonable price.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer.  You want one that provides a clean and stable power and Corsair does that very well.

Since you're a player, you would be blown away by the new games desktop and HP laptops.  I use a HP Omen gaming laptop.  It is as powerful as any game their computers.  I used both.

  • Third screen is grayed out (laptop + 2 extra monitors)

    Hello!

Using two monitors for video editing for a while now and finally got rid of an old computer and I could save the monitor she (is be the exact model of the extra monitor I use already - Dell 1505FP). My computer is a mobile entertainment pavilion dv4-1465dx. I really wanted to do a 3 wide screen (Dell monitor on laptop from left, embossed in the Middle, Dell monitor on the right), but I've read that most of the consumer level graphics cards can not handle / made this extra monitor, but because I couldn't find the specifications for mine I assumed that since I have available ports I'm able to turn it on. Not to mention that the ethernet and card reader, I have:

    VGA

    This HP port

    HDMI
    ESATA

    2 additional USB ports

My current attempt use a monitor with a VGA connection and the other with a DVI to HDMI adapter cable. In Control Panel, I can see that the computer recognizes the third screen, but the image is dimmed and shows "disconnect this view." When I try to change it, it just comes back to the same thing and do not apply the changes. I can do all kinds of configurations - but that you are unable to accept all 3 as an extended display.

In the advanced settings (ctrl + alt + F12) it also doesn't let me all 3 at once, but one monitor arrives as "monitor Dell... "while the other rises as"digital display Dell... ". "Can this cause anyting to do with him?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is what I can do with my current available options or is there something I need to buy to do this?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Many modern games requires power GPU, CPU and RAM. You cannot pass GPU (graphics card) on your machine, so the best option: buy a gaming machine.

    Hello

This is true in a sense. Why spend the money to buy a PORTABLE laprop then put it together with an eGPU when only need around this amount of money to buy a desktop computer better.

For eGPU, please look at this:

    http://www.PCWorld.com/article/2984716/laptop-computers/how-to-transform-your-laptop-into-a-gaming-powerhouse-with-an-external-graphics-card.htmlhttp :// www.pcworld.com/article/2984716/laptop-computers/how-to-transform-your-laptop-into-a-gaming-powerhouse-with-an-external-graphics-card.html

My suggestion: please stop thinking the upgrade GPU for laptops normal. We can only upgrade GPU on SOME, not all, portable class workstation and they cost up to 5 times our normal laptop.

If money is not a concern, buy a REAL gaming laptop could be simpler and more enjoyable. HP has some machines Omen (not the flag game machine), other vendors also have some.
