boot from recovery partition

I did a clean install of windows 7 ultimate on my (touchsmart 600-1220)

I got to the recovery partition, what I want is to restore my pc to its factory condition, I searched prior to this announcement, and the only solution was (in addition to order recovery disks) puts the recovery partition as active F11 or urgent on boot, but no work

where can I install HP Backup and Recovery manager (there was the logo from cyberlink that I can remember)? have not found on HP support

or is thre a way to burn the files to a DVD set? I don't have access to the files (size is about 11.4 GB)?

also, is the reason why F11 does not work is that the MBR (master boot record) was modefied?

Please, I really need help here, I would buy recovery discs if the th recovery partition is corrupted, but it is not, the only problem is that am not able to boot from the recovery partition, to aid with the exception of the recovery discs would be great

Thank you

You can buy the DVD of HP recovery for less than US $30, the machine also harassed you previously but at some point you probably said "does bother me no more."

By far the best way to handle this is to buy them at this stage.

  • cannot boot from Recovery HD

I asked a question before, but my description was not detailed enough. As part of an attempt to deal with the issues described below, I discovered that I couldn't boot from the HD Recovery. If I have to do a clean reinstall of the operating system, I don't want to take the risk by using fksk. Here are the details

    Slow performance

    (1) the starting time: 3 min (of gong at the end of the progress bar)

    (2) departure time for applications 1.5 to 4 min

    (a) Mathematica 01:22, 01:40, iTunes 01:48, Firefox mail, 03:57

Disk utility is no problem to start normal b at startup

Reset SMC improves the start time for applications, but not for the start

    Remaining problems

    (1) tent to boot from Recovery HD failed.

Maintain command-R on startup until the Apple icon (2 min) after additional 2 min gong sounded and the computer started normally.

    (2) Once restarted, SystemProfile wouldn't start properly. Reported missing components. This has been fixed by several reboots of the system profile.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • Satellite Pro L850-1UJ: how to create DVDs from recovery partition recovery

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L850-1UJ with Windows 8
    http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/laptops/Satellite-Pro/l850/Satellite-Pro-l850-1UJ/

I created a new partition (if I could use it as a data room)
i.e. C: windows system z AND my data

After that, I couldn't use the RECOVERY MEDIA CREATOR to create recovery DVDs
BUT the score still exists and I can see the inside of the windows files

It IS a way to extract the files from the recovery partition or any other idea how I could fix the partition scheme so the RECOVERY MEDIA CREATOR he might recognize

Thank you very much for your time...

After changing the structure of the partitions on the HARD drive, sometimes that recovery media creator Toshiba cannot find the files for recovery. These files are marked with special markers which, in your case, will be more found.

I m afraid is now too late to make or change anything. You're not the one with this problem. We always write here that the first step should be the creation of recovery media and later you can do what you want. You can even remove.

Now, you can just order new recovery disc to https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

There is also another possibility for the start of the STRANGE.
You can press the C key immediately after the laptop is turned on. This would allow booting from the CURIOUS reader.

    But I have a few questions;

    Perhaps disk failure?

I think that this could the main reason why the notebook missing CD.

    Hello

My laptop came with Vista pre-installed 32-bit windows, but later, I installed a new copy of Windows 7 (32Bits), without the recovery disks. Now I want to go back to vista, I still have the D Partition that contains the files for recovery, but goes to F11 does not help me.

After doing some research, I discovered that people were able to start in the successfully recovery partition after changing the drive to "active partition". But that did not help me.

Any suggessions on how to make the D partition within windows recovery disc 7 and then use these discs to install the original OS back?

    Thanks in advance!

I came across the solution finally! (At least worked for me fine)
    Ref: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and/Re-F11-HP-recovery-doesn-t-boot-into-recovery-partition/td-p/217062

I'll just write down my problem and get the detailed procedure of the solution for someone who lands directly on this post

    Problem:
My hp laptop came with pre-installed vista, I installed a new copy of Windows 7 top without the recovery disks, but the recovery partition is still there. However, I'm unable to use the F11 option at the start of the goto system recovery.

    Solution:

I downloaded, installed & registered: Paragon Backup Recovery (free) software
Then, I open the software and created a Startup disk from the menu 'Tools'.

After that, I started my laptop with this drive.
At startup, the disc gives you options 2 and 3, the last option was to select "look for other OS on your PC" that one:
He found two OS for me
    Windows Vista
    Windows Vista (Recovery)

I chose windows vista (Recovery) option and it starts to repair the system directly.
From there on, I chose Windows 7 (the current operating system on the system) and sailed for repair options.
The last option in the list was "Recovery Manager"
In the HP Recovery Manager , I chose 'System Recovery'
    It took about 20 minutes
    Fact... !

Don't forget to do the recovery discs this time to avoid this in the future!

    ----------------------
Other solutions possible that I came on during my research: (both solutions did not work for me)

    1. install the new windows 7 so-called removes the features of F11
Download and install this patch from HP for the problem of the F11 at startup.

    2. If you can't find the option to restore the system using the recovery on your pc partition
Right click on my computer -> Manage -> Disk managementt-> right click the recovery drive and set as "Active Partition"-> Reboot and automatically it brings you to the system restore.

If you have any questions after repeating the solution in step 2 as windows does not start, you can use the link below to fix the problem:
    http://www.TomsHardware.com/news/Win7-Windows-7-MBR, 10036.html I hope that helps!

  • How can I configure Satellite A300-148 boot from the recovery partition?

    Hello

I had some problems when trying to install MAC - OSX, for her, where the partition table is deleted, then I retrieve the entire score as it is, but I can not start in any case.
Then I decide temproraly install another copy of vista drive Vista (not the partition), then set up my laptop to boot from the recovery partition and reinstall the good copy.
My problem is, it's all here, the only problem is, I need to configure the system to boot from the recovery partition.

    My device is:
    Satellite A300-148

    Thanks to the device.
    Ahmed.

    Hello

If you have already changed the partitions of HARD drive and deleted files from the HARD disk, then your HARD drive recovery is too bad!

But to make sure that the HARD drive recovery is not possible please press F8 immediately after the power of the laptop. Usually a start menu should appear and you should be able to choose the option called fix my computer. Then you should be able to choose recovery option.

But like I said that this is only possible if your HARD drive was not formatted!

If you have formatted the HARD drive and changed partitions then you will need a Toshiba DVD recovery that you have not because you didn t he create at the beginning. Is this good? Well, then you must order the recovery DVDs if you want to retrieve the laptop to factory settings.

  • XPS 12 / Win 8: how to boot from the recovery partition / reinstall Windows?

Messed up things on a newly purchased 12 XPS in Windows 8, and I want to boot from the recovery partition and reinstall windows.

Support online pages point by pressing F8 during startup, but this does not at all.

How can I access the recovery partition?

To access to the menu of, , press F2.

To enter the boot options menu, press F12.

Because the XPS 12 boots so fast, it is better to repeatedly press F2 or F12 after restarting the machine. During the startup process, texts for options should appear at the bottom right of the screen. If you enter Windows, you will need to restart again and press F2 or F12 until it works. However, I don't think there is an option in the BIOS to restore the computer to its factory condition. The previous post by DELL-VIKRAM M describes how to properly restore the machine to its factory state.

  • Satellite M40 - cannot boot from the recovery cd after format HARD drive

    Hello

After my Satellite M40 - 133 being affected by the virus of security internet I had to wipe my hard drive. The virus wouldn't let me do anything, boot without failure or system restore. I wiped the disk and it still wouldn't load up. That's why I had to do a full erase of the disk including the hidden partition.

After doing his now do not let my boot from the CD of restoration as it says invalid partition as his search for files that must be on the hidden partition. What can I do to get it started. I'm not bothered about to recover anything on the disc. If I remove the hard drive and put the recovery cd in, it excludes the disc and begins to start until he fails to see the hard drive.

Outwardly I can link the drive to another pc and he sees it as a storage device so I'm glad that there is nothing wrong with the hard ware - help please

    Hello

Can you see the HARD drive with all the details in the BIOS?
If this isn't the case, then this means that the HARD drive is faulty or not fully compatible.
If you can see the HARD drive in the BIOS, then this means that the HARD drive is compatible.

But this should not affect booting from a bootable CD.
Even if the HD would not be recognized in the BIOS, you should be able to boot from the CD. For example a live Linux CD has not only any disk HARD because the BONE would not be installed on the HARD drive, but it loads into RAM.

The question is; Why you are unable to boot from any CD?
Maybe the discs are scratched or the CD/DVD drive cannot read the disc more because of problems of laser lens
If possible, try to copy/burn the Windows CD using another computer, and then try to start using the copied disc.

I have Toshiba Qosmio G15 (Win XP Media Center Edition). I installed Phoenix Recover Pro 6 with success. Now the laptop restarts and after the manufacturer LOGO all I get is ERR: TOS0002

I tried using the recovery CD and it never boots up the CD.
I tried to use the boot CD boot and always get the ERR: TOS0002

    Help, please.

    Hello

I m not 100% sure if the laptop supports the RAID or not but most often the boot from the restore CD should work without any problems. As suggested by Reavers, there could be a conflict with the partitions on the HARD disk.
You should try to format the whole HARD drive and then try to boot from the Toshiba restore CD.

Yes, I just read a thread where you posted a few comments on this machine. Regarding the problems of DVD player, this seems to be common on the same machines that end up needing a new GPU ball so I tend to think that it has something to do with the mother/controller card. Previous DV series with Nvidia problem generally lost WiFi, later models have problems with CD/DVD player.
