  The printer should be printing single cartridge - remove the color cartridge and set it aside, then print with just the black cartrdige.  There are warnings that the printer is in mode single cartridge, you may need to press OK on the front panel or driver to proceed

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are facing some print quality problems on your HP Officejet 4620 you cannot print in black ink.

  You have completed all THE steps listed here: printer does not print black ink or color of ink or prints blank Pages, without success.

  Please note: there are three stages of print head cleaning. Three steps if necessary. If the print head is badly clogged, it may require another round of cleaning. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last step of cleaning (third) to start the first stage of the cleanup process.

  If you are unable to print in black ink, I think that the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. I highly recommend call you our technical support at the 800-474-6836, I'm sure they will be able to help you regardless of the status of the guarantee.   I started a conversation with the support, they took control of my PC and that fixed it.  Was not fast, but they basically reset the PS preferences.  They made sure to back up all my custom templates, forms, actions, etc., before be reset and it worked.
