Gel - MS Security Essentials Scan complete and during backup
Hello
Virgin of forum here!
My machine is freezing during the full analysis using Microsoft security essentials and everything by making a backup.
I tried to make a backup to make sure that if I had a failure while setting the security essentials that I could restore it.
I don't get any errors, I have to restart the machine every time, and I'm sure that's not good for the laptop.
It doesn't seem to be information about the event viewer in order to document the error.
I am able to do a quick scan, but I am sure that the problem is deeper.
I spyware rum to check the system and everything seems fine. I am at a loss here.
I would like to know what model of laptop you have exactly?
Another question: don't him freezes system running only Microsoft Security databases or have you noticed the problems of system running tools and other utilities?
I can't say with certainty what is causing it: it may be a system/software problem and in this case he would recommend to refresh/reinstall the system again.
On the other hand, it could be a hardware problem. For example HARD disk problem

is windows security essentials, a complete antivirus software
I use only the windows security essential as long as my anti virus. is that what I should buy another program antivirus for the protection of the internet and full protection?
How can I check my windows security essentials is original and how can check its validity be expired.MSE is a pretty good protection AV. And it is free :)
If you downloaded it from MS - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/products/security-essentials its origin.
If you click on its icon in the taskbar (green icon - all OK) tab
will tell when it has been updated and the dates of virus definition file. Personally, for the protection of the VA, if you have the MSE installed, ongoing execution and up to date, then you are basically covered.
However, make sure you have a firewall is installed and running and you can check the firewall here - https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 ,
-click and run at least a test of common ports. You should see a green 'SUCCESS' and ports must be reported as STEALTH. However, not every AV program will catch all the viruses, so it is advisable to have a back up. Malwarebytes (free) is a good backup. Download, install and keep up-to-date (right click on its icon and 'run as administrator' to update) and manually run a scan of the PC from time to time or if you think that something can be a problem. Also after that update you can right click on any file and check trust individual, it's good for all the downloads you make (from known sites of security of course)
Also, very important to keep your PC up-to-date both the W7 itself and the programs you use i.e. to keep FireFox, java, flash etc. updated IF you use them.

My computer, one almost four years, Dell Inspiron 1454 with Windows XP Pro, continues to freeze when left to sit for a few minutes. Also, I discovered that when I run the Microsoft Security Essentials quick or full scan analyzing stops on the file HP Digital Imaging mentioned above several times. I was wondering if this means something on the reason why the computer freezes up. Also, Windows Live Mail continually lets me know that it is "not responding." Yet once, I guess it's because of the freezing problem not Windows Live Mail is the cause. I do not know. I made some different system using different dates restorations and who has not solved anything so far. I use the computer during a run without problem, but if I have a cup of coffee, for example, I have to restart when I return. Sometimes, the slider moves, sometimes not, but no matter the computer is unresponsive after that I took a break or just out of the blue when I try to open an e-mail or another task. I guess it's time for a Mac, but I thought I'd see if anyone has some ideas on how to solve this problem. Thank you!
Hello, Olivia,.
This problem is probably due to an outdated HP Digital Imaging monitor. Even if you decided to switch to a Mac, the question may still popup because you have installed hpqthb08.exe.
Fortunately, there is an update that you can apply.
SP26427. EXE

Or you can simply disable HP Digital Imaging Monitor.

Original title: computer stops on its own
Companions of the IO,
I have a notebook Acer Aspire with Windows 7 Home Premium. When I run the full scan of MSE, the computer shuts down on its own after a while. It's actually like a stop forced down, even if the battery is almost full and the laptop is plugged. When I turn it on it shows that ' Windows did not shut down correctly...» ».
Any ideas what type of problem could be?
Thanks for the complete information. The problem is resolved. There is nothing with the computer. The voltage of electricity was actually too high and the power supply just blocked power supply check to protect the computer to burn.

DB file sequential reads on the table scan complete and LRU (new)
I would like to add a question on the subject
According to MOS doc ument 1457693.1
«.. signs diluvium readings of the caching blocks can be divided into a number of small multiblock and self-contained bed. »
The question is if sequential readings of db file submitted by a FULL SCAN operation will be cached on LRU or MRU list?
I'm afraid the flushes of heat/floods the buffer cache with a lot of FULL SCAN db file sequential reads.
For which direct path series reason readings will be inapplicable, so using this new feature of 11g is out of scope for this question.
Thank you for your interest,
Rainer Stenzel
There are a few different patterns of behavior depends on the size of the table (relative to the size of the buffer cache), but the key question is probably "readings will increment the counter of touch" - because if they are not the blocks will fall the LRU list fairly quickly, if they do then the blocks could (after a few tablescans) eventually be promoted in half hot from the cache.
I did some quick tests (that requires a little care in the Installer) which suggest the number touch was not incremented has therefore not had any effect on the question of if the block would get preferential treatment when they have reached the end of the LRU.
I'm a little puzzled by your expression: "cached on LRU or MRU list" - it's not two different lists; but people talk about "the end of the MRU of the LRU list.

Is it possible to change the parameters of the scheduled scan of the Microsoft Security Essentials from the command line or in a script?
I know that I can use the command to schedule the MpCmdRun.exe tool command line to run, but that do not change or remove the existing scheduled scan that appears in the software. Run regedit to merge into the corresponding registry keys does not work because the keys are "locked", probably by the running of MSSE program.
Suggest you post it in one of the forums dedicated to MSE - Microsoft Security Essentials: scanning, detection and removal of threats MowGreen Update Services - consumer safety

Windows Update, firewall, Defender, Security Essentials completely broken
Hey guys. Been having a lot of problems with Windows 7 64-bit today. At first, I thought it was average PC problems, but it turns out (according to malwarebytes and security essentials) that I picked up some nasty viruses. Windows Update, windows firewall, security essentials real-time protection and a few other things all seem to be broken and does not boot. I tried everything under the Sun, it seems. Just recently, I scanned completely and removed the virus. Any help would be appreciated. My virus:
Results of MalwareBytes and Security Essentials
My PC seems to be in a very fragile state right now. I have NO system (still friggin happens to me) points of restoration and one step before the removal of virus he told me my copy of windows was not authentic. This seems to have severily damaged my PC. Is there something I can do?
I think it started about two days ago, I had to install a driver stupid on my PC to my PSP. It was disabling driver signing verification. Last time I do this.
Create a Ubuntu Live CD, boot with it and plug in a USB key and copy what you need off.
Please, use this as a learning experience... Always save. -
Two different programs, is Security essentials and windows defender? They collide
Original title: security essentialsTwo different programs, is Security essentials and windows defender? They collide
Yes, 2 different applications. Defender is anti-spyware only and Security Essentials has antispyware and antivirus. Windows Defender is useless if you use Microsoft Security Essentials, given that the built-in anti-spyware component and allows you to disable Windows Defender by design.

Computer problems since the installation of Microsoft Security Essentials
Since the installation of Microsoft Security Essentials, my computer will stay only in mode "sleep" for a minute or two and then turns back on. Also when I turned off the computer, Microsoft Security Essentials also stops, and I have to turn it back on when I start the computer. I had the two trend micro PC-cillan and Macafee security on this computer. But I uninstalled them before installing Microsoft Security Essentials. Also my computer is supposed to go to mode after half an hour of not used but he is staying on.

Update Microsoft Security Essentials removed
Original title: Microsoft Security Essentials
I use Windows 7 and Office 2007. Microsoft Security Essentials asked me if I wanted to update the program. The updated program was a digital signature from Microsoft. Everything seemed to go well and when the download is complete, it asked me to restart my computer. After the restart, Security Essentials has completely disappeared from my computer.
If that's the problem with Microsoft Security Essentials, then try to install it from:

Also, check in the start menu and see if you can open it or not
And if still problem then contact support:

I'm on my computer Toshiba Satellite phone, Windows Vista Home Premium x 86 32-bit Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5250 1.80 gh 2 GB RAM with Service Pack 2, when using windows firewall regular and Malwarebytes anti-malware.
I am trying to get into Windows Defender to remove the stuff start menu because my computer is running way to slow down. About 6 months ago I had a problem with Microsoft Security Essentials by turning and stay Orange (at risk) and say it wasn't scanning, but it has been. At the time, I was not aware that Windows Defender would be put off. Now, it seems that it is disabled automatically. There no way to disable MSE, if I try to change my start up programs in Defender, or even when I am trying to download programs, I always end up having to uninstall MSE, download the program and then reinstall MSE. It takes a long time and really makes me want to go back to AVG or even a different program. Help and faq are unclear and seem to leave a lot of information on. I left on the 'default' settings, for when something is happening, but I'm not quite sure this is the correct setting.
I need instructions in plain language, and it's really hard to find. Since I left my computer unprotected for download or try to change things, I'm afraid that something got. I just went through a clean installation due a person with remote access in my system and I lost a lot of pictures, records, etc., I'm always worried about security now and don't know if I should stay with MSE or not. I used the care a before Scan and he had difficulty my registry keys, that having people tell me I shouldn't have let microsoft fix my computer. (this was before the clean install). It's just confused and contradictory and not enough information. Windows Defender has a 'stop', does MSE?
This is probably not the right area, but I specifically ensured that when I signed into hotmail the box 'Save password' was unchecked. I am registered on another forum, then signing in this one, he had my password registered and logged in me full? Same thing with contacts - my old msn contacts have a way for this 'hacker' enter my computer through MSN messenger, he gave her the permission above my permission admin, so I couldn't get out. Although I asked that the old account closed a bunch of time - I guess there is still there waiting for like a year? Now I have a new email in hotmail, the clean computer, and the dang thing starts my old top loading details is on his own... - Anyway, my main concern is can I pause or stop the MSE? Can I use the Scan a care after I had no protection? and is there a place explaining MSE in regular normal verbiage with more information then what is on the help and information and download page?
Thanks for your time,
Nanette

Microsoft Security Essentials - how to prevent a spam quarantine
Dear gentle people
MSE identified an executable newly installed like a worm. The alert level has been designated severe. She suspended the action file and recommended the file in quarantine.
Submit the file to the MS Malware Protection Center showed an eigenstate of detection and commented, it was an incorrect detection.
However, the only option of MSE gives recommended action is to quarantine the file. How do you prevent to do now and in the future?
