Get .pdf into InDesign

Hello

I have a business card in pdf format.

I have the Creative subscription could, thanks to the full range of programs.

In Acrobat, the file is clear.

When I create a document in the format business card in InDesign and place the file - the quality is terrible.

How can I preserve the quality, but be able to print this in the way I need (10 to a page).

Thank you

Amber

I re-recorded and moved the pdf separated, but did not helped, also, I restarted my computer and tried a new indesign document.

    You crop in the PDF?

I'm not 100% certain that your problem is, so tell me if I'm wrong. In my example below, I have a cropped PDF. If I placer place in InDesign, and then select crop to: Bounding Box (as in your example), the entire image is available. Cropping in Acrobat is temporary and may be uncropped. When I choose the harvest: harvest (as in my example), it happens only with acreage (in my case, the part in the framing box).

Play with these settings to see if you get the desired results and report.

  • PDF in InDesign files does not work

Hi all, this is my first post on the Adobe community.  I have a problem arose last week and I'm going crazy.  Help, please!  I'm running on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.5.

I have been using a workflow to create tables in InDesign for months without any problem:

1 calculate a complex table in Excel

2 paste the table into PowerPoint for formatting

    3. copy the table in PowerPoint, then paste it returned as a pdf image

4 option-click on the pdf image on the slide to save it as a pdf file

    5. go to a picture InDesign who already has a linked picture, again the link to the new pdf file.

This workflow has been very helpful because I have a lot of complex and carefully set tables in form, I need to get into InDesign.  Now, since upgrading both my Microsoft Office 2011 and my Adobe CS6 SW it does not.

I can copy, paste-as-pdf, save the pdf file.   But when I try to link to it in InDesign we get the message "cannot open the pdf file.

I always followed the old files to pdf without problem, and I can use this workflow on the pdf text of PowerPoint files.  Pdf files that contain tables do not bind in InDesign.  I tried to make the past-as-pdf in Microsoft Word and the behavior is the same.

    All PDFs in Acrobat air.

I thank very you much for any assistance.

I get the same results here that you get, and I see no reason for this. I was able to open the PDF file in Illustrator (not something I would recommend most of the time, but this file has no text) and re-register without any changes and it ended. I think it must be something that adds Mac Quartz or leaving out, but I can't say what.

They really are paintings rather than what we normally consider as tables. Do you have Illustrator? It would be easy enough to replicate these in Illustrator directly (and not so difficult to ID using traditional tables with different fills blank cells), but if you're comfrotable in Excel, it is generally recommended that Excel graphs pasted in Illustrator and then put in memory in PDF format.

  • Can't print PDF from InDesign after update Microsoft anni

Hi all, since the anni update I was unable to print PDFS from InDesign. No matter if I put PDF for default printer or use the option "Microsoft in PDF format; what I get is: "printing error: Adobe Print Engine failed at the end of your data due to an unknown problem. Sometimes it will print a little less than half of a 60-page document and that's all - it fails (but I get a PDF of that half...). Sometimes, it just goes straight to the error.

Anyone know what is happening on our how to fix? I have a deadline...

    See you soon

    Steve

Hi Dov, thanks for the reply. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I use export when I want to send it to the printing press. However, at this point, I am willing to create a test that is reduced file size and allows me to put all 60 pages of the document in a gap of seven pages using the print option of 3 x 3 thumbnails per page. It gives me a manageable file to send to several people for the document of proof and, at this stage, the output of high quality is not necessary.

However, I seem to have solved my problem:

As mentioned, the document prints 1-27 on a 60 page document (print, failed on page 28).

The paper would not print the range 27-60, when I tried later.

The document will print 30-60 range.

Therefore, the problem lies in pages 27 and 28. I've got rid of the pdf linked to two pages and tried work a print - it worked. then, of course, my problem lies in one of the PDFs linked to each page 27 or 28. It turns out that when I opened the linked PDF (sent to me as a PDF from another company as an advertisement) on page 28 in PS, PS automatically rasterized image, I recorded to a location different, re-related in InDesign, and guess what - it worked. I got the impression that I asked who had already failed.

So, this boiled down to a single work of art linked PDF requiring a pixelation...

    All the best

I just joined. I chose convert PDFS into a word document. I downloaded it. but I can't change it yet. What I am doing wrong? Some PDF cannot be converted?

    Hi karenb60536875,

There are some PDF types (such as those that are protected by password) that cannot be converted. But when this is the case, you will get a message during conversion and the conversion stops. It looks like not this is the case for you.

What happens when you open the Word document converted to Word? You see an enable editing button in the upper part of the document? If so, please click on that. If you are still unable to select text in the Word document, try triple click to select.

For reference, I will say that the quality of the conversion depends on the quality of the PDF file (see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert text and shape... |) Adobe Community). Thus, there may be cases where a PDF prepared by a third party application (a non Adobe application), may not be written to spec, and that can affect the accuracy of the conversion.

Do not export ExportPDF and Adobe PDF Pack services to WordPerfect format. But they convert to the RTF Format, so if WordPerfect can open RTF files, you should be set!

  • Button nail in interactive PDF from InDesign CC

I designed an interactive PDF in InDesign CC. When I export and open it with Acrobat the 'buttons' have a blue fill (see them the color for the border of stationary fields).

I know that I can go into my Acrobat preferences and disable this option however when sharing with other users the PDF I don't want that they have to make those changes in their Acrobat preferences or devrais I must. I understand the highlight color is important when creating text fields for forms, but it's a boring and useless feature for the "buttons".

It also makes my custom buttons look crap. Is it possible in InDesign to turn off the highlight color before exporting to interactive PDF?

See my screen capture below, you can see how it destroyed my design.

Geigreg I am a designer as well and understand try this with my code above:

    `

Acrobat X Pro, you will use the JavaScript Panel in the tool pane. You may need to display the JavaScript in the dropdown at the top right of the Tools pane.

To add the script to the Document level, you then click Document JavaScripts. An opening of dialogue where you enter the name of the script (for example "highlighted". Then, a text editing box opens, where you can enter the code. Select the entire document and delete it. Then add the code as described above. Confirm and close the dialog boxes.

For the willClose script, click the value of the Document Actions. Opens a dialog box where you can choose the events. Select close document. An edigint text box opens, where you can enter the code. Enter the code as described above. Confirm and close the dialog boxes.

Save the document and reopen it.

  • text imported into inDesign highlights

When I import or drag and drop a .doc or .docx file into inDesign, many lines of text have pointed out that I can't get rid of.

  • interactive PDF in indesign by hypertext links caveat

If I read this correctly, you make a wrong assumption. You are assuming that if you have a PDF file with interactivity, that when you place in InDesign, it will retain its interactivity. This is false. This workflow will not work. InDesign does NOT read interactivity when placing a PDF file.

  • PDF to InDesign for FOLIOs script

I have a number of back issues in which I would like to convert to digital using DPS. So I found this script that will save me weeks of work.

    http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/DPS-PDF-to-InDesign.html

    I work with a 112 page magazine + cover.

When I limit the magazine up to 8 pages, this script works like a charm.

However, every time I work with anything either over 8 pages, the page controls go completely unhinged, the script does not matter a few pages and it's a mess.

I tried to post a comment on this page, as others did, to get in touch with programmers who help people like me, but the page telling me login to post a comment - and I'm already logged, and it won't let me post anything, no matter what browser I use.

I hope someone can help me here.

    Thank you.

Working with Derek did the trick directly!

The difficulty with the script, is that it requires that everything be "alphabetically". This means that when split you the files in Acrobat in individual PDF, everything must be in "alphabetical order" and Acrobat does not how this script requires.

Then Acrobat gives me 1_ISSUE24.pdf, 2_ISSUE24.pdf, and if I got 9 pages, that wouldn't be a problem. But I had more than 200 pages for a specific problem and when you get to page 10, work is no longer in alphabetical order if the single page numbers is not a 0 in front of them.

So if you have up to 99 pages, make sure that each page with a single page number has a 0 in front of it, for example 01_ISUEE24. PDF

If you have up to 999 pages, make sure that each page with a single page and double page number has two 0s in front of it, e.g. 001_ISSUE24. PDF

Unless there is there a program that will automatically 0 s in front of the names of files for you, you must do this manually, which is a bit of your time. MUCH LESS time, however; as re-sizing everything yourself and doing it the old-fashioned way with cut and paste, etc. etc. etc.

If the script is extremely useful, it's free - you just need to have your numbers of pages numbered correctly.

Thank you, Derek, for your time and your help.
