  I use an Asus laptop and have used the Asus recovery cd.
  I just replaced the old HD (500 gb) as it failed with a 750 GB HD.
  I tried the SP1 upgrade to SP2 and this causes a "catastrophic failure".

  Hello. I wanted to run Visual Studio 2010 Express edition on my Vista Home Premium, but ran into way too many problems.   You can run into a new problem in function if your configuration is incorrect.
  (backup items available on the clone host, file systems, settings etc..)
