• Can not get the new laptop to connect to my wireless network but connects to others

  I have just bought a new laptop Dell Inspiron 1545 to Dell.com and have tried to set up the wireless internet for the past hours. The laptop running Windows Vista Home Basic Edition, & my wireless router is an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station (about 4-5 years). Below is a list of problems / advice I've come across so far:

  (1) when trying to connect to a network, my network don't appears in the list of local networks sporadically even if she lost the signal strength of any nearby wireless signal (I must refresh the list to make it appear sometimes)
  (2) when my network is displayed in the list, it is described as a network that is not secure; There are 2 others that come and go in the list that are also not guaranteed, but I was able to connect through one of them.
  (3) when I try to connect via my network it either says unable to connect immediately or poster progress bar, then after a minute or two, says that it cannot connect.
  -to diagnose the problem, I can exclude is not not in the range of my camera as I tried to connect when I'm 2 feet more far
  -It also says view wireless connections again and try again, but this brings me to the same screen
  -L' diagnostics screen mentions that "the network is"hidden"and is either not in range of this computer or wireless settings on this computer do not match the settings of the network." (is there a setting I'm familiar with that?)
  (4) I checked device drivers and all said that they are working correctly
  (5) I can connect to the internet via a direct connection to the router via a cable ethernet not wireless

  Well, it looks like the old router was the problem. You have a new N Wireless for about $80 as suggested and it works like a charm. At took 5 seconds for your laptop to recognize and connect to it and were without problems since then. Thanks again for the help guys... I hope that I won't bother you again =)

  I've found a workaround.  If I used Windows software to scan, it works correctly.  It works just not when I use the button on the printer itself.

  You can install it on as many machines as you want.  You are limited to be able to have only two machines activated at any given time.  You can sign in and out at the need to activate different machines.  If you try to connect to a third machine, while two other machines are already concluded then you will be asked if you wish to have the two disconnected to allow one to be signed again.

  There is no Vista free download legal available.

  Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

• Constant BSOD with the new laptop computer

  I bought a laptop Dell L521X are three or four weeks ago, and since then have had difficulties with the projection of thing regularly blue on me at arbitrary points. Those initial seemed to result from McAfee LiveSafe who settled on the laptop so I uninstalled this and these people arrested. However, since then he has been giving me an error called DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE he says is caused by ntoskrnl.exe. Blue screens seem to happen arbitrarily and not because of anything specific I'm doing on the laptop. It will almost always crash when it is in "standby", however, and a few times he broke down while I'm closing. I updated both drivers and BIOS, hoping that would solve the problem but neither helped. I thought that it could be a hardware problem but all the Dell diagnostics, I came back with nothing. I've been futzing with the thing for a while now trying to figure out what it is but I'm stumped.   Gah... I suspected that this software to be a problem, but I wanted to be sure before recommending removal. Sunbelt Firewall is originally NETBIOS conflicts, I see quite often. It is quite problematic software (IMO), so I would remove as soon as POSSIBLE.

  Mozilla working on a 64-bit version of Firefox, but it's a way off. Currently, the only release versions are 32-bit, and the next major version will be also only 32 bits.

  To copy bookmarks, follow the procedure described in the article restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer to save a json file, you can import (restore) on the new laptop.   Here are the General options of relocation for you:

  You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

  They should do this for a small fee.

  And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

  The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

  Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

  Ask them to the proper key sequence.

  And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

  Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

  If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.
