• Impossible to accelerate traffic RDP 4.5 view with the of Riverbed Steelhead appliance

  Hello

  We are currently assessing two of Riverbed Steelhead appliances to see what that capacity in terms of acceleration of the RDP.  Our intention is to use these devices to accelerate RDP traffic on our network at our branch.

  While we can easily demonstrate optimization applied to traffic enforcement and standard RDP connection (with encryption and compression disabled), we are not able to see any optimization with the Protocol RDP for VMware View 4.5.  Instead, we see traffic optimization at the launch of the Customer View point click on 'Connect' on the virtual machine you want.  At this point, the RDP connection is established and the Riverbed camera seems to get through the traffic display without any optimization at all.

  Since we are able to get the optimization with applications and stand-alone RDP traffic, I was wondering if there is anything else we could be missing in the configuration for use with view, not to mention that turning off compression and encryption RDP as we already have in troubleshooting with Riverbed.

  Do you have successfully obtained a Riverbed appliance to optimize the RDP traffic such as initiated by the customer to view?  If so, what configuration steps you took.

  I recently got a slim Pro HP t5325 customer for testing with VMware view 5. I ve the thin client to the latest firmware update:

  who has the view 4.6 customer and according to the VMware compatibility list:

  It should work with view 5. But when I try to launch the client and connect to your desktop from view, he asks just a super quick message (which I don't see) and then it brands the "active" session, but it doesn't open anything . View 5 Client on my laptop works very well and I m able to access the same desktop VM.

  My current setup is:

  • vCenter server 5
  • ESXi5
  • VMware View 5

  What Miss me? Any help would be appreciated.

  I had the same problem this week. He is not related to view 5, same problem exists also with 4.6.

  The problem seems to be that when you try to open the connection, the client calls a /usr/bin/view_wrapper.sh script and this script does NOT run with user privileges? However, if you switch to admin and then open the connection this script works well. You can test it by opening the X terminal in the thin client, then the su user and try to run the script manually /usr/bin/view_wrapper.sh start at 0 and you will get a prompt for sudo.

  I tried to add the useraccount 'user' in/etc/sudoers and allow that user rights sudo for view_client and view_wrapper.sh programs. Did not help

  If you add the user 'user' to the root group, connection opens fine but then you let the open thin client for the standard user to mess with.

  Quite a bug in the software? They don't do any test before releasing these?

  There is a product key on the back of my laptop, but their system apparently doesn't like it and so they're going to make me pay $ 50 just to send someone. Someone knows how to bypass the product key thing, so I can get a customer support?

  as vista came preinstalled Microsoft do not offer FREE support for this issue of yours. That is why the price of $50.

  and they ask for a product ID, not a product key that you mentioned; but who has the same result; no free support

  Product ID is completely different from the product key

  your support is the manufacturer of your laptop; but feel free to ask questions on these Forums

  to reinstall vista:

  Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

  they do it for a nominal cost of $

  or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

  Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

  they contain all versions of vista

  Maybe this can help someone else...  I had to simply properly uninstall CS3 and reinstall again after that.  I think what he sort!  I also remember having a similar problem with the Mac at work a couple of years back.  Not sure if it is the same for CS5/CS6.  Here is a link on how to properly uninstall CS3 on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS.  I'm on OS X 10.9.2 but it works beautifully.  Remove from Creative Suite 3 and CS3 products

  Create a file association.

  1. download and save the attachment to the office.
  2. right click on the saved file.
  3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
  4. click on: choose [default] program.
  5. Select: Adobe Reader.
  6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
  7. click on OK.

  This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

  Because the SLI works with other games on your system, then this shows that your drivers are good and Vista is not a problem with it.  You can watch this forum site.  It deals specifically with Nvidia SLI information.  I saw several other State, they can get of EQ2 with SLI.  You can also view these EQ2 websites for more information about this problem.

• USB problems with view 5.3

  I have problems with view on an Atrust W100 5.3 zero client attempts to use a Magtek USB card.  When I plug the blow of the card into a USB port and the test with the notebook, the device works, but when I try to slip something in QuickBooks POS there are missing characters and the card is not recognized.  I contacted MagTek and they pointed me to a download that I can run and slow the flow of data entry, however when I try to run it it is unable to recognize any USB device.  Is there anything I can do to get this MagTek card reader to work with the view 5.3?

  Looks like you're not actually redirecting the USB device, and instead it is considered a local keyboard to the zero client, with the keystrokes that results from being sent all over the office.
