GH4 - 4 k 4:2:0 to 1080 p 4:4:4 using Adobe CC

We talk a lot about the ability to 'downsample' GH4 filmed in-house in 4 k at 1080 p and the advantage of it is 4:2:0 to 4:4:4. But he talked a lot about HOW better to do it using Adobe first Pro CC (or other software). So, how is this work exactly? I guess simply put a 4 k hit on a 1080 p timeline dimensionnera just, right? So, how can we get added advantage of color space? What are the steps to make this happen when editing with Adobe Creative Suite. Thank you!

The GH4 puts 4 k - 10 bit only through HDMI out, not by internal record. So... the real after complete Assembly 10-bit 4:4:4 1080 p to get out 4 k - 10 bit 4:2:0 and then in transcoding in 1080 p, it can be left whole 1080 10 bit 4:4:4 through a 'natural' trans-mogrification of the additional data luma to color data. I saw the wonderful scientific discussions about this, Yes, it works that way. Leaves entire bt-10 4:4:4.

A slight problem at the moment... There is apparently no portable recorders, which can record the range of the framerates the GH4 shoot at 4 k - 10 bits. A very expensive perhaps, but nothing to say Atomos those. So... IF you also Panny the YAGH (or "brick") unit attached to your GH4, with how it converts HDMI to SDI outputs, AND you happen to have a recorder SDI-connectable with any 4 k/10 bits-framerate capacity sitting there, you can get your film GH4 in a great for delivery edition wrapper.

I've also seen the scientific discussion as to why take 4 k - 8 bit 4:2:0 and transcoding to 1080 p gets some improvements in the depth of color... data roughly equivalent of bits of 8.67. As one person has noted, as it is not an arithmetic scale is always a significant improvement of 'depth' of color data. More than 8 bits, but nowhere near the 10-bit.

We arrived in no man's land!

  • 4K vs 1080 p made - why different?

Can someone tell me what could happen?

I have a video source 4K (from a Panasonic GH4) only once in 4 K, and 1080 p (50% scale) looks different. The rendering of 1080 p is identical to the appearance of the element within the EA. The clip of 4K is much darker. Here is a screenshot of a portion of an image of each rendition. (I mention even who's who, as should be obvious from my description, unless my eyes deceive me.)

    1080pVs4k.JPG

I have no idea what might happen. I use v13.8.0.144 on 10 to win. The clips have been returned by using the Photo - JPEG codec.

    Ideas? Things to try?

    Thank you

Interesting. Seems the compression of the images through the Jpeg codec algorithm does not do well to him, but before we assume that this is true, are these screenshots from a few Ae after importing the images into Ae? because this should be your platform in comparison. If this is the case, we show the settings of project information near the thumbnail for each of them. Also try to test a short sequence in a different codec: Jpeg2000 or Animation and share the results.

  • FX7 or GH4 for sequels?

Hello, I plan to make a corporate video for our society. We don't have any available video camera

We only: SONY A57 with f 4.6 50 mm lens (company-owned) and a b with 35 mm f1.2 and adapter objective lens wide angle (my personal digital SLR, but it's just good for photos)

I do intend to rent or buy another camera. I think that 4 k camera will be good right? But 4 k is very slow in AFTER EFFECTS. in any case I have made a corporate video of 4 k before just by using a dual core PC (well, I have a good workflow for 4 k).

is it better to buy a sony HDR - FX7 or is it better if I buy a Panasonic lumix DMC - GH4 for corporate videos?

    FX7 is a camera professional 1080i, is it better than a 4 k dslr?

FX7 video with AFTER EFFECT of preservation of high range retail will be better than a 4 k GH4?

and a professional camera 1080 are better than a 4 k camera unprofessional?

First of all, there is no magic camera. You get what you pay for. Some of DSLR and same GoPro make 4K and offer some amazing images, but all compressed sequences cameras cheap come with their own set of peculiarities. You had rolling shutter, compression artifacts and a bunch of other things to deal with. My suggestion would be to read the comments, upload a few images of the sample and if possible rent a camera for a production before buy a. Shooting 4K with a consumption target or even a built-in lens that is not professional standards will not get that much advantage over the filming of 1080 not compressed with the help of a professional. Purchase of equipment is simply because you want to have on hand is rarely a good idea for a business in its infancy. Understand what you really want to do with your business takes much more than just choose a camera.

Hello! I am new in preview (but very experienced in ae) so I hope not to make any mistakes noob. I use cs6 on windows

so I'm trying to change some sequences in the first, and I want my sequence at 1920 x 1080 25 fps, because I want my output to be like this.

but unfortunately when I try to create a new sequence is not avaiable option to have my needs. and if I select a similar sequence such as dvcprohd 1080i50 I can not change the resolution of the sequence to match what I want. I can NEVER change my setting of sequence, and this very annoying i because I have a very limited sequence preset to chose.

BTW, I'm editing some gh4 shoot images in:

  • 4K footage - 1080 output... what should I do? All advice?

    Hello world
For the first time, I got 4 k filmed (on a Sony device) to be edited. The final cut will be delivered to a Web portal, and it will be 1080 HD not 4K.
    What do you offer me?
Should I convert all sequences of k 4 to 1080 before importing it? Should I work 4 k and output images and the final editing in 1080? I would have simply a 1080 30 p / i of the project and put the 4 pictures of k in it? Anything else?

Thanks in advance for your great help

  • GTX1070/1080. Compatible with Premiere Pro

I've heard say that the GTX 1070/1080 with first Pro CC 2015.3 problem. But the nVidia driver which has been updated several times released 10xx GTX series. So it solves the problem for first pro? I decided to buy the new graphics card then solve the problem. I wonder this situation. I just wonder that...

    1. is it possible to make any optical flow with time remapping clear?

    2. it is clear using Lumetri?

    3. any other situation on Cuda?

    Sorry for my English.

On my system with an i7-5960 x and edition of 1080 founders, I'm having no problem with screens ranging from black (which is what I think you were making allusion to the #3). I use the 368,69 drivers.

In my last spot, I also used the optical reflow and it seemed to work fine.

Have not used the scopes of lumetri, so I can't say.

The performance seems no better than the 980ti, so they may need to tweak the first to take advantage fully of the 1080.

I also use this system for Cinema 4 d, and I'm waiting for new pilots of Iray then this card a bust until what they update their. Suppose that there is always a risk with new technologies.

  • A.E. 1080 p output

    Hello.

I was made out of frameworks of 3DS Max 1280 x 720 as EXR and compositing in AE out of MP4 files.  We are now looking to display a set of videos on wider screens (~ 46 ") and I was invited to the output in 1080 p.

Q.1 I must make it off to a different size of 3DS Max?

    Q.2 How give A.E.?

Could someone please give me a few tips for getting started.

    Thank you very much

    Yes.

    And Yes.

    4500 times wrote:

Also, what is the thinking behind rendered in Quick Time first, then in another format?

AE is not very good at h.264 encoding. In fact, it is not yet part of AE in the last version - deleted Adobe (using Adobe Media Encoder to create H.264, MPEG-2, WMV video and After Effects). A big difference is that the AE (not) to make multipass encoding. Multipass encoding allows you to get the best video quality at lower bitrates. So it is best to to something else in AE.

There are a few reasons for the intermediate stage rather than dropping your AE comp directly in Adobe Media Encoder. On the one hand, if you use the ray-traced rendering engine, acceleration GPU in AE will be much faster. On the other hand, you can do a few tests of different data rates and compression settings. Digital video broadcasting is the balance between quality and file size. If your AE composition takes some time to make, you won't have to wait for hours just to see if the 3.5 Mbps is acceptable compared to 4 Mbps. If you have already lost your comp, the Media encoding is just to have to execute a QuickTime file and encode it.

    4500 times wrote:

Is this still being viable even just as an intermediate step?

As I said, you don't have to do the intermediate stage. In fact, you can put your AE composition directly in Adobe Media Encoder and render on your h.264 it. However, as I mentioned above, there may be reasons to prefer intermediate step. For some people who have nailed the settings that work for them and who is not using the ray-traced rendering engine, it is better just to mix the model of EI for the Media Encoder and let him go to work while they wear the next AE project! (Another advantage of using Adobe Media Encoder, is that it can be made an AE comp while you work on another).

  • 16:9 1080 p menu includes black bars on the left and right

    I'm a beginner still.

I think that this question has been asked before, but are all the answers to my question. I have a clip of 16:9 (1920 x 1080 422HQ) I want to use my DVD Blu - Ray. There is no HD because of SD here. Everything is HD. This is a clip of movement, that I want to use as the background for the Blu - ray menu animation. The project is set in 1920 x 1080 full HD Blu - ray. Then why I make two thick black bars on the left and right? I'm not him in preview, only in the project view.

Also, when I saw it, why it looks so grainy? The preview is not in full HD 1080 p, there also two black bars.

    Thank you guys!

It turns out that I need to create a menu by importing a PSD 1920 x 180 instead of create a new manu in En(command+M). Can I add a background of movement as usual after the PSD imported as an asset of menu. That solved the problem, black bars have disappeared. Thank you guys for all the help!

  • video format 1080 p/60

I recently shot the video using my camcorder Panasonic HDC-HS900 using the 1080 p 60 format.  I use Adobe first Elements 9.  I set up a new project, but haven't seen a pre-defined corresponding to 1080 p 60.  I took AVCHD Lite 720 p 60 and one (file MTS) video files added to the project.  When I saw the video, it went well for a few seconds, but then become unstable and very bad.  My computer is about 4 years old.  It has an Intel dual core 2.4 GHz and 4 GB of RAM.

Any suggestions here?  That I should

    (1) change to another preset?

    (2) convert my MTS file to a different format?  If so, what tool would I use for this?

    (3) make another option?  I hope that my computer is powerful enough to do this, because I don't want to have to buy a new.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I use PE10 for months edititing 1080 p 60 files from a camcorder near twins (HDC-SDT750) and a Sony HX9V.  I use a laptop which is two years old and has a lot of memory.  I had no idea that 1080 p 60 was 'not supported '.  In fact, with the exception of this forum, I can't find documentation that says it is not supported.

Bill T74 has written, "I... one of the video files (file MTS) added to the project.  When I saw the video, it went well for a few seconds, but then become unstable and very bad. »

Don't worry about this.  The preset of the project is for viewing in real time of your project.  Rendering by pressing reads the original files and makes a temporary file used during editing.  It works pretty hard computer because he's trying to make it look like the final product.   The preset that counts is the tab share.  The preset on part is where she is rendered using all markers that you set in the project, to make a usable and optimized video for YouTube or your TV 55 ".  And it may take some time.  In other words, the computer takes all the time is needed to read from your frame of a film made and original at the same time a completely new video file that will play smoothly if played on the device, as it was intended.

    Bill T74 have also asked, "I took AVCHD Lite 720 p 60"

That one works for me PE10.  Rendering line red does not appear in my time line when you use 1080 p 60.  It might be because the pace is matched.  Defining the project preset to AVCHD1080i create make it red me line.

Then Bill T74 asked, ' do another option?  I hope that my computer is powerful enough to do this, because I don't want to have to buy a new. "On another forum, I followed one year it seems common for owners of the Panasonic 700/750/800/900 camcorders are unaware the software that comes with it is called HD Writer.  My version is 2.6 and probably yours is 3.0.  His goal is to make all the the Pansonic has usable, including 1080 p 60.  The manual included on the disc is more than 130 pages.  You must read, or at least the scanner, to understand what he can do.  Included is the ability to trim clips, split clips, join the clips, add titles, add transitions and making movies.  She did this while preserving the quality of the original video. It will put the final vidoe on a Blu - Ray disc, a disc playable AVCHD to BD (30-minute), a DVD, uploading to YouTube or nothing, that you might want.  It doesn't have the wonderful selection of color controls, effects, and audio tools that has PE.

HD Writer is a major imperative.  It should be used to transfer files from your camera to your computer.  The reason is that each camera .m2ts file makes, three smaller files are made with that understanding for HD Writer.  If you have already copied your files on your computer, HD Writer will be useless for you.

If you don't first elements to work on your 1080 p 60 files, HD Writer will convert it to the 1.0 AVCHD format that works better.  In other words, a file 1920x1080p60 can covert 1920x1080i30 file.  (In version 2.6 Select tool > film > Conversion of Format.)

  • Questions about 1080 p 60 .m2ts

I've been hidden here for a while, but don't think that I have not posted anything.  I'm new to video and is studying how PE10 work on lynda.com.

I have a Sony HX9V and Panasonic SDT750 cameras that take video AVCHD, including an option for 1080 p 60. I use the first 10 elements on a Toshiba Satellite laptop computer with an i5 processor and 8 GB of ram.  It's not a video card and only a slow HARD disk.

I scanned and read here that 1080 p 60 is not supported by Adobe in PE10 and it seems awkward for many.   Yet for me, it seems to work very well.  I use one of the presets to 1080i30 or 1080 p 30 project. Using 'Get media' and selecting a well-known 1080 p 60, checking that the thumbnail with a right click and "Properties" confirms that it is indeed 1080 p 60 and a .m2ts file.

When 'Sharing' (made) I select share > computer > presets > select MP4 H264 1080 p 30 > advanced > Frame Rate and 59.94 and 60 are available.  The output file is not a .m2ts is a .mp4  If done on a single element, the new file is slightly larger than the original and I think it's because of the default transmission made speed is slightly higher than the original.  The two files play fine and can be distinguished in my eyes on a 55 '' TV using a media player.

First of all, I am correct that the presets project only controls the rendering for the ongoing work and the final report reads the source file directly and then encode it to the selected output?  Or despite, preseeding to effect project overview of the final works?

Second, if 1080 p 60 .m2ts is not supported why it seems to work so well?  What Miss me?  Or what should I share with others who want to modify the .m2ts 1080 p 60.

    Thank you.

    Bill

    Bill,

First of all, I am correct that the presets project only controls the rendering for the ongoing work and the final report reads the source file directly and then encode it to the selected output?  Or despite, preseeding to effect project overview of the final works?

You are basically correct, that the Preset is for editing and playback from the timeline. Exporting/sharing reads the data from the source files, to produce the output file, "filters" that data, based on what appears on the timeline (essentially tell the program which images to include and how to manage), it didn't there IS an interaction, but it will be sharing settings, that really affect the output file. Yet, there is an interaction, then the choice of a project preset is mainly for easier mounting, finesse and then reading.

Good luck and happy to hear that you have good luck with 1080 p material.

  • How better to convert AVCHD 1080/60 p in MPEG2 SD to bury on a DVD?

    Hello Forum,

I use Pr CS5.5. I imported and edited files AVCHD 1080/60 p (from a Panasonic TM700), made my editing, and now I want to burn the project on the DVDs. send it again, using the default settings it and burn a DVD produced pretty ugly results. I guess using Adobe Media Encoder to do the conversions would be much better, and I watched a tutorial by Jeff Bellune on how to do this in CS4. Two things that have changed since then are a the new format AVCHD 1080/60 p, and that Pr CS5.5 has a few features more in his window to the SOUL. Someone has suggestions on what settings to use? Also, looks like 1080/60 p 720/60, p where the recommendation of Belluno must perform the conversion in two stages, one for design and one for interlacing? Thank you!!

The first question is - do you have a card CUDA?   If so, export directly from PP (using export instead of the queue) to the use of DVD MPEG2 highest bit rate that you can while editing always the footaage on the DVD (do not go beyond "8" for reliability Issos on older players).  Set the Dolby audio, 192.

CUDA cards produce the best down to the level of all the other options (i.e. not CUDA or queuing in Media Encoder) because of the algorithms used.

If you do not have a CUDA card so make sure you check "Use Maxmimum render quality" in the export dialog box.  This will significantly slow down export, but it worth it.

DO NOT export directly to still and still have to do the conversion because he will be less good quality all round.

95% of all to delivery needs a manufacturing of DVD, so we went through a lot of trial and error to get the best possible quality!

    Hi there will...

First of all, as I see many others, I'm new here HD edition, thanks a lot for all the help of those who have the knowledge!

    Ok.. My problem,

I use CS4 master suite (first and still)

    Remains with HP PC

    The source is 1440 x 1080, 60i

I want to convert to serious SD and play on a regular DVD, again using

I went to Jeff Bellunes Tutoriels (who have been great, I learned a LOT) on the HD - SD conversion... BUT...

all his examples use HD 1920 x 1080 xx, so...

I shot some test footage at 1920 x 1080 60i and intervened although its procedure and it worked great... BUT...

    (and that's the problem)

As noted above, the actual source footage, I NEED to convert was filmed in 1440 x 1080 60i (widescreen)

I used the same procedure as 1920x1080i Jeffs tutorial, but when I took the result, then out again

(nothing special yet... just did a simple a word-transformed into a button in the menu, linked the timeline button, related the end action of the calendar back to the menu, then returned to a folder and engraved on a DVD)

When played on the DVD SD the result low high Squashed crushed another drive... makes everything look small and bigger...

When I started the project in first, I adapted the source: X.V. 1440x1080i30 (60i anamorphic)

that, in the first are States in the preset description box:

For editing AVCHD Formats saved in 1920 x 1080 anamorphic (ex.1440x1080).

I guess that's the correct preset for my images...

And then following the tutorial by Jeff for 1920x1080i

    I'm in the media encoder,

    Export media

    Choose MPEG2-DVD Format

NTSC widescreen high quality as a preset

In the video tab: change the order of the fields to stem

Bitrate settings changed: Encoding Bitrate VBR 2 pass.

Change Min.Bitrate to 2.8, flow target flow and 7-8

    make the selected maximum use,

    left on zero multiplexer

and kept the default audio settings

then moved on to M2v and associated .wav file

Here's what I imported as assets in, made to a TS file and burned on a DVD

I also did a .wmv export by using the windows media format / NTSC widescreen to download high quality preset

for a file to load up on youtube... and it seems well... no crash and the quality is very good.

    () http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK9n7zjXMS8 ( )

the settings in the tutorial do not work for 1440x1080i? Like I said before, when I used the images of test 1920x1080i, he played on the DVD SD player perfectly with GREAT quality...

Please any help would be greatly appreciated... hope I'm not on for more details...

I really need to get these images converted...

    Thank you

What setting did you use for the format of pixels?  Did you leave it by default?

What your DVD player?  What you set as the display format (Normal, wide screen, stretching, etc.)?  What type of TV?  You have a big screen HDTV or a standard 4:3 CRT?  The settings in the DVD player matches the type of TV?

Finally, when you import the M2V file in en, in interpreting it correctly, IOW, it appears correctly in the preview yet?

  • 1920 x 1080 p to SD - DVD (720 x 480)

    Hey everybody,

I have some 1080 p videos, I want the author to a regular DVD, again using.

I know (or sure) I have to re - encode beforehand and I'm running into some puzzled sticking points.

Using Adobe Media Encoder, I tried pretty much every iteration of downscaling videos 720 x 480, with varying results.  In addition to the terrible review (which was little expected), I have problems return.

Sometimes the options I choose overwrites the content in 4:3.  When I choose a preset or customize which displays widescreen, there are always black bars on the side which vary in width.  Maybe 20px a side once, 50px another.

Does anyone have experience making these kinds of conversions?

Basically I want to do is take a bunch of 1080 p videos and create a regular DVD while preserving the proportions of the original videos.

I have tried MPEG2, MPEG2-DVD (widescreen), etc., etc. anything.

    Here is an example of a video that I have re-encoded using MPEG2-DVD, 720 x 480, widescreen 16:9.

    Thank you!

If you are using CS4, here is a tutorial I made which should help you:

  • How online/offline when the proxy files do not match?

    Hey guys,.

I hope someone can help me with this as I am new to Premiere Pro. Basically, we turned everything with a Sony FS7 and a Panasonic GH4 UHD and decided to use Adobe Media Encoder to create proxies of 1080 p, so that we can more easily change (our system is old enough).

Now the time has come to make the line and connect it to the raw files of UHD. The problem is when we created the proxies that we gave them evocative names such as "Location_Reel1_Day1_001" and so on, but left with their 'random' names generated native camera raw files Since the names do not match, obviously we cannot simply "make offline" be reissued then.

We kept the raw structure of intact files so is possible to do "batch capture" "card" in such a way, he uses the time code instead of the file in question for raw files names? Should I instead rename files camera raw to match the proxies?

Please let me know if you need more information and thank you in advance for your help!

sometimes files camera raw, different days, will have the same name even if they are on different folders

Understood, but you must leave it like that.  Keep track of who is who with folder and bin organization.
