• "sfc/scannow" was not able to repair some files, one or more of which must be in the path of an installation of Vista SP2

  I tried to install the SP2 of Vista for a few days now with no luck. Earlier today, I had a breakthrough and was finally able to install 'patch for Windows", which, after a reboot, enabled me to see the x 64 SP2 update in part"updates"of the control panel. When I tried to install that, he said he failed and gave me an error code. When I looked it up, it says try "sfc/scannow" in an elevated command prompt.   Hi, my Dell Studio Hybrid desktop is hang on installation (new installation on a formatted hard drive) from Vista to the installation step ends.  After much research it seems that it is a matter of pre Vista SP1 associated with SATA drive/drivers.  Installation crashes because the computer is looking for a driver on the CD-ROM that is not there.  Anyway I don't see a driver relavent in the cross-section of the hybrid (another computer have drivers under the SATA drives) and if I did I don't know when to add it (load the section of the driver during the installation process?).  Any help on this topic and how to proceed with the installation of vista would be much appreciated since I just lost my weekend to this.
