GIT version control extension jDeveloper 11.1.2.4.0

Hello

Note it is a GIT extension for jDeveloper which is supported only on jDeveloper version 11.1.1.7.0.

http://www.Oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@OTN/documents/WEBCONTENT/131167.XML#Oracle.JDeveloper.git

Does anyone know if Oracle plan to support this extension in the 11.1.2.4.0 version? After reviewing the NET there seems to be a great interest to what the integration of GIT.

for example

http://chadthompson.me/2012/12/12/Why-use-git-with-JDeveloper/

This will be possible with JDev 12.1.3 which comes with the mobile and the battery full FMW.

As I said before, use Git as external tool. You can integrate git via the external tools menu and put the main task of a button in the JDev toolbar.

  • Distributed Version Control in JDeveloper 9.0.3.5

    Hello

I am currently using JDeveloper 9.0.3.5(Build 1453) with Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10 applications to sponsor OAF.

What I googled so far, all signs point to 'NO' but is it possible to use a system of control of distributed like Git or Mercurial with this version of JDeveloper? The only options I see are CVS and Rational ClearCase SCM Oracle9i. Currently, my company is not no matter what version control system. How to use version control system / do you offer?

At the time 9,0,3, there is no such thing as Git.

We support Git in new versions of JDeveloper.

Version 9, the best would be to use the free CVS version management.

Another option is to use the tools-> external tools to define calls to the command-line Git, passing parameters in the files that you want to check in and out.

  • What is the best plugin to version control for JDeveloper for SOA projects

We are evaluating different products available for Version management.

Is a criterion, what Version Jdev control works best with. I found site of Oracle which Jdev 10.1.3.x, the following plugins are available

Can anyone give feedback that is the best of them in terms of:

    1. effective integration with Jdev.
    2. ease of maintenance.
    3. help the deployment on multiple environments
    4. the other relevant points that should be considered.

I would be grateful if someone could put light here.

    Rgds,

The forward direction is certainly Subversion to CVS. In the 10.1.3 days but there were a few things that you could do with CVS and JDeveloper with Subversion.
This change in 11g - I would recommend that you go with 11g and Subversion.

  • Integrate SQL Developer with IBM's Clearcase Version control

    Hello

I explored the part of version control for SQL code by incorporating my SQL with Clearcase from IBM Developer. So far I have not been successful with it, I managed to remove the SVN Version control options, but I am not able to use it for my Clearcase link. Could I know please if there is any plugin available from Oracle for this to do. If it please help & drop your suggestions.

    Thank you

    Michael ([email protected])

    Hi Julien,

There is ClearCase comes available for JDeveloper extension versions, and as any given SQL Developer release some releases JDeveloper, you may be able to find an appropriate version of the extension for your use case.  Looking for ClearCase in the center of update JDev:
    http://www.Oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@OTN/documents/WEBCONTENT/131167.XML

Of course, ClearCase is Nolisted in the release notes for SQL Developer as a supported Version control system:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/SQL-Developer/downloads/sqldev-releasenotes-v4-1925251.html

If you want to give it a go, however, here's what I did to install a ClearCase plug-in for my 4.0.1 Developer SQL...

    1. check the SQL Developer Help > about > Extensions for the version of oracle.jdeveloper.vcs (12.1.3.2.41.140207.1351)

2 downloaded vcs - clearcase_bundle.zip (12.1.2.0.40.66.68 is the closest available JDev version)

    3. in the zip file, modify or replace the value of the property maxVersion in the META file - INF\bundle.xml (from 12.1.2.0.40.66.68 to 12.1.3.2.42.99.99)

    4. install the zip: Tools > features... > Check for Updates (top-right) > install from a Local (radio button) file...

    5. now, ClearCase will be available from the main tool bar: team > ClearCase

I don't have a ClearCase installed on my machine, so that's as far as I could go.  I hope that you will still make progress.

    Kind regards
    Gary

  • Assignment card ID when you use Version control

    Hello

We use RH11 with version control (two of us were allowed to use HR) I am wanting to assign the ID card in our project. I created the card number, but when I assign to a topic, I get the following message.

"Files in the list below may not be retrieved from version control. Exclusive access to these files is necessary to perform the selected action.
The file in the list that refers to a the extension .ali

Is this to say that because there are two of us with HR that can access the project that I can't do this? Or is it because of version control, I can't do this? I really don't understand why? I hope that there is an expert who can enlighten me!

    Thank you, Louise

There are two reasons that this behavior occurs normally:

    1. The file is extracted by the other author. This occurs when you try to add a new id card at the same time. If the author of other controls throughout the project, you should be fine.
    2. The file is somehow outside the control of source code. In this scenario, your source control link has issues. Try to open the Source code control application to see what is happening.

You can also try check all of the project, before you add the id of the card. Who help me?

  • Oracle forms version control system

    Hello

Which tool is best Version and difference, audit reports and Oracle Forms.

    My environment is

    OS = Redhat 5.9

    Database = 10.2.0.1

    Developer = 6i patch 17

    Thanks in advance

I'm used to subversion, but this does not mean that it is the right tool for you. GIT is a distributed version control system that provides the ability to create local chapters that sometimes miss me in subversion, for example when I do a greater research who needs significant changes to code.

At the end of the day, you read about the characteristics of some version control systems, to play and see if it fits your needs. At least that's what I did 7 years ago when we checked the subversion.

For example, take a look here:

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_revision_control_software

Don't be overwhelmed by the amount of VCS out there. That's just my opinion, but the free Source Open (like subversion or GIT) VCS are at least as powerful as their commercial counterparts (of not more powerful), so I will abstain to scrutinize sales.

What is diff/merge is in a team of 4 developers I guess having to resolve conflicts is rather rare?

There are a few possibilities but to compare changes:

-convert your forms to XML format and compare with a plain vanilla diff viewer: conversion of an Oracle Forms Application

-convert the pll files in text format gross LDP with rwconverter and compare with a spectator ordinary vanilla diff

-use a commercial tool like FormsTool - ORCL Toolbox

I don't know, maybe there are other tools of differentiation/fusion available as well, but that's what we use (Forms tool in collaboration with rwconverter to merge pll files, as this does not well in the forms tool but not the fault of the tool itself, but on the API, it based on...)

  • Version control for Dreamweaver

Do I have to use Version control? Can I get around this? I don't know what the correct settings are for this. I didn't have to use it in my old version of CS5?

I'm a little late for this, but Version control is not for the version of Dreamweaver you have, it is to be used for Subversion source control-a concept similar to git.

  • Unit testing and Version control tool

    Hi all

We try to evaluate a PL/SQL developer tool that will have the following options.

    1. version Control (Control Version TFS or Subversion server)
    2. unit tests

    I see two options

    1 Developer SQL
2 TOAD + Quest Code tester for Oracle

Some you will suggest which option to go for and why?

Also can we use JDeveloper or any other for this purpose?

    Please notify.

    Kind regards
    Hari

It is somewhat a generic question.

different tools have benefits different and different tools suit different companies and how projects that are managed or how the development is made etc..

Some people may prefer to use these tools just for the development of the code, but for example use the CCS for source code management and version control, then develop their own unit test scripts, or have dedicated 3rd party tools in order to test the individual unit, business, test system etc. of test cases.

Without knowing your company's configuration and requirements in detail, it would be difficult to say that one thing is better than the other in most cases.

  • Is it possible to integrate CS4 & quot; Version control & quot;?

    Hello

I'm working on the update of an extension of integration of existing work with CS4 Version control. In earlier versions of Dreamweaver CS4, done by the implementation of the 'integration of control source API' . It put an element in the "Remote Info" drop-down to our version control system.

In CS4, there is now the built in 'Control of Version' option that comes with support for Subversion. We want to upgrade our integration to use it.

Implement us all the necessary and most of the calls 'Source control API' optional and appear in the Remote Info tab. Is there something we need to change in how us to implement the Source control API in order to appear in Dreamweaver as an integration of version instead of a remote control? I read the documentation of the Source control API and don't see anywhere that he changed from CS3 to CS4.

So in summer my question is the following:
Is it possible to integrate the new CS4 Version control interface?

If it's too broad a question, please tell me and I'll try to limit. Thanks for any help.

I'm sorry the Version Control Panel is not extensible this version. The control API Source will continue to work in the Remote Info pane.

Could you suggest me a decent software to version control that I can integrate with TS and LabVIEW?

    What do you use?

Here at OR we tend to use Perforce , although there are many other options. Knowledge base below can give a few ideas, but also the discussion of Large LabVIEW Application development community.

Including third-party Source control providers can use with LabVIEW 8.0 and later versions?

  • QVCS for version control

Anyone using with LabView QVCS integrated source control utilities? QVCS supports the SCC API and I have set up as my default version control tool, but whenever I try to set it up in LabView (8.6 or 09) I get an error complainig that the specified path is not valid.

Thanks for the comments. It turns out that QVCS v 3.7 and versions prior work with the integration of LabView. All other subsequent versions are not. I still understand what is the reasoning but I don't want to communicate with Quma and ask for explanations. I found a way to encourage the implementation using QVCS v 3.7 and then replace the old version for Labview 3.9. Here are the steps to follow:

    (1) install QVCS 3.7 but do not set up a project.

    (2) under Admin-> IDE integration, set QVCS as your default version control tool.

    (3) in LabView, go to tools-> of Source code control-> configure source control. and QVCS as provider configuration.

    (4) close to Labview and QVCS. Remove all QVCS 3.7 files from the program files directory. Replace the files with QVCS 3.9 or later.

    (5) restart Labview. The files will check in/out at the most recent help QVCS.

I had 0 problems with this method until now. LabView problems seem to be not associated with installation of QVCS and not execution.
