Global Business Unit (GSM)

Is this ok to inactivate the business unit GSM 'Global' coming out of the box? This would cause problems?

Assuming you have created a parallel hierarchy and there is nothing under the BU global, then it should be safe to inactivate.

• Organize Contacts by the interest in the product or Business Unit

Hi all - I'm new to Eloqua and our entire organization is as well and we are struggling with the idea to allow contacts to be available in the world (all divisions) while maintaining some sense of who "owns" that contact record or maybe a better way is to say who is at the origin.

The question comes up around segmentation for campaigns. There will be cases when sometimes we want to target people who are identified by a specific business unit and some cases where we want to target across business units. We have our subscription management settings so that the people can subscription / unsubscribe from an individual business (Email Group) so unit taking care to eliminate people of a campaign they don't want to see, however, it does not help with targeting in the operational units.

One thought, we got around this was to create a contact field, which has "Business Unit Owner" or something similar that you can use for including / off a contact of a segment, and the other was to create a program that would automatically subscribe to a list based on who uploaded or based on a field in the contact record people.

Can anyone share some best practices on how they manage the "fences" implementation based on what business unit contacts around could come from the contact?

Jason

Hey Jason,

This is something many companies have a hard time to get around their hands. One of the more recent releases Eloqua helps security level Contact, available in the filling of the Eloqua team or above. Essentially, what is happening there is that you assign to your contacts that you want to be blocked in some way a specific label (in this case, the business unit), then you create security groups for your users and can restrict access through these security groups. Where A, B, and C people have access to the labels 1 and 2 D and E people have access to the 3 and 4. There are many considerations to think during the assignment and for this reason, the installation has to happen through Professional Services, Eloqua or an authorized partner.

However, if you do not have the Eloqua team or superior, I would recommend a combination of what you say above. Have an identification field on the contact record that refers to the Business Unit (it looks like this may have a manual process) and then you might have a filter in each segment, which is only pulling in people who respond to every business unit. Thus, segment only withdrawing contacts including Business Unit a Business Unit A. You should then be able to lock each asset at the level of the asset, if you wish.

Let me know if you have any questions - I know it was kind of a mouthful

Hi gurus,

What is an operating unit becomes a required field when you submit a concurrent request and where he gets the value from the LOV.

Thank you
Nestor

Please indicate your version of the EBS.

11.5.10, the control unit is necessary according to the report that you are running.
In general, the parameter is hidden and it is set by default based on the MO: profile of the business unit.

• 5508 WLC works only with small business unit SA 520 security

Cisco 5508 is new Wireless LAN Controller supporting 802.11ac new Giga bit wireless. It has been connected to the port of SA 520 LAN LAN port of small business Security Appliance (trunk). VLAN by default 1 works fine, which is for the management but vlan data does not work.

However, I can ping from WLC until SA 520 on vlan data but no ping SA 520. Also the wireless clients connected to the AP cannot connect to SA 520 on the data vlan 2702 as gateway?

both have the latest firmwares. These devices are supported?

Any suggestion?

Hello

I guess your VLAN DATA is another VIRTUAL local network that you have configured on the WLC.

Make sure of the ff.
1. you have configured the correct WLAN interface
2. you have assigned the right WLAN interface on your SSID
3. the DHCP of your users (where btw?) if in the WLC, check if it is on the correct subnet and that it is enabled

Also considering it is a safety device, check that the ff:
1. you have configured the necessary policies and fro the AP and WLC
-Note that traffic CAPWAP able, to avoid any problem, just allow and fro WLC and AP for example, two policies a WLC-> AP and another AP-> WLC

2. of course, the policies necessary to allow traffic

PS: The compatibility is not a problem, note that your servers SMB of device as a connection of the WLC. You should have no problem integrating the two

• Check through for multiple payment processing business units

Hello

We are currently implementing Oracle R12 to the company that I work. Our implementation of solution has informed us that you cannot process a check (cheque) payments through multiple operating units and that there is a remarkable improvement with Oracle. That is why (if we accept) that we will have to deal with a separate by operating unit check that will increase our many payment processing.

Can someone out there:

A. confirm that it is indeed a question
B. are you aware if anything about Oracle and
C. is there no work around we might consider to reduce the impact.

Thank you

Hello

Scenario 1
If you're going to make it simple to check the payment to the same supplier with different places, under various operating units, oracle has provided a workaround solution, which is to make a manual payment in the accounts payable module, but it did not obtain payment instructions.

Scenario 2
If you make payment by check unique to various suppliers in different/similar operating units, it is not allowed by Oracle, because there is no logic behind it. You can't 1 check generated for different providers...

I guess that you are referring to scenario 1, in which case, I would say that there is a work AROUND suggested by Oracle to make use of MANUAL PAYMENT method that you could discuss with your implementation of Solution.

Kind regards

• For multiple business unit, we have same logo. How to display in RTF?

I am very new to BI publisher.

I have create a RTF command that contains the Logo of the operating unit.

Currently, we have 5 operating units. We'd spend logo based on the control unit.

Currently, we have coded something like that

<? If: org = 1? > org1image <? endif >
<? If: org = 2? > org2image <? endif >
<? If: org = 3? > org3image <? endif >

for the Org = 4 and org = 5, we want to display the same image. Do we have a logical condition or BI Publisher?
as
If (org = 4 or 5 = org)
4 image display
end if

How in RTF?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

• SQL QUERY

Hi all

I have a data as mentioned below

----------------------------------------------------------------

GBF Global Business Unit (GFIC)

Development of products (domain)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Here, I need to get a release with support

GFIC

Field

Please help me how to get on that...

Probably of REGEXP_replace (your_column, '. * \((.*)\).*','\1'),translate(regexp_substr(your_column,'\(.+\)'),'a()','a')

It's my old file regex, not tested now. If you always support at the end then it is much easier and doesn't require any regular expression. If this is the case, then you should be able to figure it out yourself.

• How to limit the visibility of the GSM Spec

Hello

an our client ask us whether it is possible to limit the visibility by business unit for the Specs of the wording, but not for other GSM specifications.

for example: a user should be able to access all materials (BU 'A', 'B', 'C'), but can access the formulation in BU 'A' only.

I thought to divide the workflow of formulation based on BU.

In this way, we have to create:

1 wf for formulation in BU 'A '.

1 wf for formulation in BU 'B '.

1 wf for formulation in BU 'C '.

1 wf for formulation in BU 'A B'

1 wf for formulation in BU 'A C'

1 wf for formulation in BU 'B, C '.

The problem is that we have 7BU and this way, to create a workflow for each combination of BU (too)

Is there another way to restrict access to the GSM Spec?

I hope my question is clear, otherwise do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Stefano.

Can you provide the business case for use around this problem so I can understand how you are eager to take advantage of business unit? It may just be a different way of thinking about the business organizational unit. For example, you can set up your business as follows unit structure:

Formulation

> A

> B

> C

Material

> A

> B

> C

There may be some minor usability, but these concerns can be solved with future improvements of the user interface or UI extensions.

----------------------------------

The information that I have, and if you do not want to reorganize your BU you could do the following:

1. give the user access to BU A, B, c in the UGM so they will be able to see the materials in their search results.

2. use visibility Tags in your model of formulation of CCA to hide formulations BU B and C of the user in the search results

3. use our extension of veto of specification plugin to restrict read access to the sheet of formulation based on business rules. Our right of veto plugin allows you to restrict access to any user based on specific rules. For example, even if the user has access to A, B and C, they still would not be able to open the specification because it is a language specification and they are not in Group X. You can even get fanciful, if the user only has read access to all specifications of the child, then they cannot open the spec parent etc.

If your rules are simple, then this may be the easiest to manage. It really depends on how predictable and simplistic your access rules are. You can learn more about our veto spec plugin extensibility Guide. You can learn more about the tags of visibility in the white paper EQT visibility with our other user guides.

• multiple choice for user profile & preferences system Code for GSM?

Hello

I'm LauraJ and I have a question about users being able to see GSM codes GTIN for the specifications formulated by the users of other business units.

When this user makes a generic GSM research for the common specifications shared by several installations on the search page it sees as its installation system code; the codes entered by sister facilities to the same specifications users are visible only if it opens up to the spec.

I tried to change that in user profile & preferences system Code for GSM, but I can only choose one option. How can I select several choices for the system code?

Thanks in advance!

GSM and SHIG, you can select a preferred system Code. But you can create a query of development intended for the many.

• Advanced configuration of pricing price list displays the items of the other operation of the unit in the value of the product

Hello!

• When trying to install a new operating unit gives an error: FRM-40735: trigger of PREFORM raised unhandled exception ORA-06502

EBS - accounts payable - Version 12.1.3.

We have a lot of other business units configured and no error occurs.

This error occurs only if we define a new ORGANIZATIONAL unit.

All profiles have been configured correctly. (MO: appliance, HR: security profile, etc...)

The trace shows:

SELECT PROFILE_OPTION_VALUE

OF FND_PROFILE_OPTION_VALUES

WHERE PROFILE_OPTION_ID = 5852

AND APPLICATION_ID = 178

AND LEVEL_ID = 10003

AND LEVEL_VALUE = 124280

AND LEVEL_VALUE_APPLICATION_ID = 200

AND PROFILE_OPTION_VALUE IS NOT NULL

PROFILE_OPTION_ID = 5852 is "ICX:Session Timeout".

If I put this profile the error does not occur. But it's very strange to have set a level of responsibility.

Hi all.

I discovered what the problem was.

The size of the name of the responsibility has been with many characters.

Reduces the size and the error continued to occur.
