• SceCli 1202 after the Installation of Sophos 0x4b8 error

  Our company uses Sophos Endpoint Security and Control (v10) for our anti-anti-virus/personal firewall of the company. About a month ago, we pushed the Sophos Endpoint client to our two domain controllers (that are running Active Directory) - This installs only the part of the client to a server antivirus. It is Windows 2003 Server R2, Service Pack 2 servers. Once installation is complete, you must restart the server for the console policy Sophos are taken into account. Just before the restart, we started to see the SceCli error appear in the application log in Event Viewer. And now every 5 minutes, another event is added. We have installed Sophos to other Windows 2003 servers and have not seen the same question on them. Has anyone else seen elsewhere? Any suggestions on what we can do to stop these events to the application log? Are there Sophos configuration changes that must be accomplished to AC/DC servers? I asked the question of Sophos support, but so far, they have not been able to give me all the answers. Thought I'd see if anyone else had experienced. We have not done any changes to group policy... and the fact that it only happens on two servers makes me think that this is not really a problem with group policy. • Low download speeds Internet Sophos UTM VM - but only the other virtual machines; Physical PC without issue

  So I have something very strange going on. I have a Dell custom host ISO on a Dell R310 ESX 5.5. My problem is that the Internet download is bad, but ONLY to other virtual machines. The Upload is normal physical computers.

  I currently have 4 virtual machines running:

  FreePBX, Win 2012 R2 Server, Sophos UTM (ISO VMware with the latest updates) and Win8.1 Ent.

  I have the following physical machines, I also used for testing:

  8.1 Win Office - wired

  Win portable 8.1 - wireless

  The lower test details, you can see on the image below.

  Iperf tests with 64 k window:
  Win Server 2012 to VM VM win 8 - 6.8Gbps <-VM VM good xfer
  Wireless Win 8.1 laptop to Win 2012 VM Server - 172Mbps <-VM to the well physical wireless

  Xfinity speed tests:
  Wireless laptop: 90Mbps down, 9Mbps place <-physical good Upload PC speed
  Wired Desktop laptop: 90Mbps down, 9Mbps place <-physical good Upload PC speed
  Win Server VM: 86Mbps down, place 0.6Mbps <-SLOW on VM!
  Win 8 VM: 90Mbps downwards, upwards 0.6Mbps <-SLOW on VM!
  
  As you can see in my tests, the only place the problem presented is VM to the internet. Physics to the internet works fine. My only thought is that there is something with the switch to the host or the MAC address.

  
  

  I don't think it's the Sophos Nic because it works very well from the physical to Sophos to Internet. I also have a ticket with Sophos Support; they look on the side of Sophos.

  I sent Wireshark packet capture of the Sophos support and they had this to say:

We have found the package wth ECN (explicit congestion Notification) and CWR (Congestion window reduced on the VM machine, please get this checked with support of virtual machine or VM adapter.   In addition, indicator of Congestion window reduced (CWR) is defined by the host sender to indicate that it has received a segment TCP with the ECE flag set and that she had responded to the congestion control mechanism that indicates there is a congestion in the patch.

  So I did some research and the solution is to disable all options of unloading in the advanced settings of the NIC as shown in these two links:

  This solved my problems. I now cross 9Mbps downloads on my VMs. hope this helps someone else!

• I use Sophos Anti-virus and found Geneio and Kuklorist

  I'm a newbie enough on Mac, having changed my PC a couple of years ago.  I don't have to download Sophos Anti-virus at the moment where I bought the iMac.  I have the OS X El Capitan, 10.11.4 edition.  I had very few problems until recently when I seemed to download a virus or a trojan.  I was actually going to favourable sites when it happened and happened twisted things and something came and said that I had downloaded a virus.  Don't know what the program which has been notified me.

  It takes forever, forever, to run the anti-virus program Sophus, like 2 weeks to do (and it scans 2 external drives from 1 to 3 terabytes).

  He did not find "viruses", but did fine "an item found" and "detected problems."  When I open the Quarantine Manager, he has a list of 109 separate lines (files) and named the whole Genieo thing.  All but two of the 109 lines have the extension "pdf.pronto" and are listed in my external hard drive (Seagate Backup Plus drive).  Both of which do not have the extension of pdf.pronto have ' macOS/appYM' and Kuklorist in line, like an uninstall and the other as "Application Support/Kuklorist".

  I think I have maybe two? problems, as Genieo and Kuklorist, but that might have a single with two names.  I'm not sure.

  A - J Sophos program could not automatically delete the files and told to remove them manually.  I have trouble finding a way to do it.  I looked in the community of Apple support and got a few suggestions more elderly (year 2014 and 2015), but cannot follow the steps (I can't use the Finder to locate the lines I should copy.)  I need help, anyone?

  Been using Sophos A - V and it produces the "rotation beach ball" and slows down my computer at the speed of the abacus.

  We are running a cisco 5510 and seek to update. Recently a company sales person came and give us ground for sophos 650 and wanted to sell us. I have using the cisco long product and find them reliable and as command-line switches, routers and asa etc.

  I want my management to go to the power of fire ASA or cisco x series with IPS and other features. But what I understand is sophos is a small to mid level as cisco asa are large engrprise. kindly could you please suggest sticking with cisco asa (new model asa) will be a good choice or go ahead with sophos. I like the cisco command line and networked cisco for the last year 4 all entered vaule will be highly appreciated.

  -If you look at the NSS labs Brach detection report Sophos is not found while Cisco is high enough

  -If you look at the latest report from Gartner Enterprise Firewall that Sophos is quite low, while Cisco is high enough

  -If you look at the latest report from the Gartner IPS you will see the same

  Another cool thing, Cisco is this support forum. If you have a problem you TACS but also Google :) If you Google a related problem of Cisco, you get hundreds of pages of answers. If you do the same for Sophos you'd be lucky if you get 1 or 2.

  I am a technical expert for a company. We use Astaro (now Sophos) as our proxy device. We use Active Directory-based authentication to provide access to our customers.

  I am currently building a SOE for our Mac workstations. It is based on Mac OS X 10.8.4 and uses deployment studio to install. We used the creative cloud Packer to build an installer which contains all the modules of the suite Creative Cloud. The entire suite is installed, but I have to be able to connect to the activation via the proxy servers to complete the installation after the deployment of the SOE.

  When I run the installer of creative cloud, I am invited credentials, even if the credentials are stored in the keychain of the user. When I followed the activity of proxy log, I don't see these credentials being passed on to the proxy. I can see queries generated, but the user is "" or null.

  What authentication methods are supported by the application of creative cloud regarding proxies? Are there logs available to narrow down the problem?

  The other thing I have noticed, is the creative cloud does not honor sites in the proxy bypass list. For example if I have 192.150.3.51 in the proxy bypass list under 'System Preferences', 'Network', 'Advanced', 'Proxies', and I'm trying to log in to the creative cloud, I still have requests on this IP address in the proxy log.

  Is there a configuration file separate for the proxy for creative cloud settings?

  I also want to pass on that cost to me (and my company) so far on the 4 days of the time so far in order to diagnose and resolve. We never had these problems with are previous Adobe Volume licensing agreement and CS6 product family. Our support technicians have admitted that they violate company policy whenever a new mac is deployed just to be able to get installed CC bypassing security measures and by directly connecting the mac to the internet because they found that the only reliable method to complete the installation procedure.

  This isn't an acceptable solution - moving toward a SOE reusable won't make this problem worse than our macs will periodically get fitness image which means that we have to reactivate creative cloud again to our users again have access to their tools and their tasks.

  I don't think that our infrastructure is very different from any other company out there (for example Internet access only via the user authenticated) so I don't know why it did not had been supported out of the box.

  I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

  You must encrypt the drive with FileVault first. Then just delete. Apple now uses SSDS in most of their machines and these drives don't support secure erase.

  I remember reading somewhere on the Apple site in recent years on some models of Chinese iPhone with this capability. No other iPhones display this and there is no way to enable it. I can't find the article which includes this information.
