  With the publication of our CP5.5 training modules completed, we use the output PDF version. At the end of the publication, the system warns that it will be compatible with Reader 9 or newer.   Is it ALL WAY around that? (we previously used 5.0 and recently updated to 5.5 and are now unable to return to an earlier version of the cp files)

  I'm afraid I have some very bad news.

  There is no lower upgrade path from Cp5.5 to Cp5, not to mention Cp5x at Cp4x.

  So there is no way in Captivate to create PDFs for Acrobat Reader versions prior to version 9 (and I think that maybe this is actually the version 9.1, 9.0).  However, this is NOT really about Captivate in this case, because earlier versions of PDF were impossible to view the multimedia content of the SWF file.  So, if your SPARC system cannot run that version 8 x in PDF format, you were never going to be able to run any version of Captivate its release still being SWF content.

  Either way, inability to Captivate to record in previous versions is a sore point with many users.  But it has NEVER been possible to record in older versions of Cp, once you upgrade.  So at least it's consistent...

  (1) - name of the container (with no extension) here are all the emails one after the other.
  (2) container - name.msf one type of index, if deleted itwill be restored

  If there is any subcontainers, there is also a container - name.sbd which is a directory (map)
  In this directory there are new pairs or even directories.

  Files without extension is the mbox files. As they exist even when there is simply a directory .sbd and not emails, you need only point to this mbox (empty) file to load the tree entire (folder - map-) use the ImportExportTools add-on.

  I've upgraded to the latest version of Flash to correct what I thought was a problem in Firefox.  This problem turned out to be something else but now Safari will not play ANY flash content.  I uninstalled and reinstalled several times.  I even installed an earlier version.  All the these have exactly the same result.  Flash works in Firefox, but not in Safari.  I cleared the cache.  I entered the settings of flash securty and remove all the content.  Nothing seems to change this.  Anyone have any ideas?

  Never mind.  Stupid stupid stupid.  There was a firewall rule blocks flash.  I don't know why it worked in Firefox but when I unchecked, fixed it.

  If it is correct, then your webutil.cfg is not been set correctly.  Entries for transfer.appsrv are in reference to the appsrv and not the client.  So you currently C:\temp which is a directory of Windows and not Unix.

  (2) Transfer.appsrv.Read.1 =c:\temp. It is already set.
  

  3) Transfer.appsrv.Write.1=c:\temp. It is already set.

• Reaer Adobe will be not recorded of revised paper after cutting the size and rotation to proper setup

  Reader does not save the files / documents the revised format after that I have turn right to the top. It saves the file as it was before the chages.

  It was the same problem with PDF files. So I installed Player believing that would fix it. There can be no.

  You reduce the zoom, not the size of the file & turn you view PDF not orientation.

  You will need acrobat free trial download Adobe Acrobat application | Acrobat Pro DC to reduce the size of the file and change the orientation of PDF.

  In fact, I have to disagree with Colin Holgate. The file seems file. It's a very clever and very complicated form.

  The problem is, and you are one (or two) countless who touched it: it is not enough to have installed the Adobe Reader. You must also USE it.

  This message is typical, if you use a browser that reads PDF files without using the Adobe Reader software. Most browsers now cela, then save the PDF file on your computer and open in Adobe Reader (Acrobat Reader) from there.

  You probably just drive - activate the form. You can do this with Acrobat or LiveCycle Reader Extensions.

  I have a bunch of shapes that need to communicate complex information and we build in the ToolTips and explanations etc all along of their - but what would be ideal is if you can click a button and have a video file play under the form/above of the form - the idea that we could use audio files and video files to communicate data much more.

  I really don't mind if a new window is opened and resized by the middle of the screen to play the video, or if a /location framework is integrated with the form - I though maybe I could use the geturl a button command and point to the video file - but I don't know if I can put an image / designated play space in the form , or if I can open a new window and resize and Center it on the screen?

  I think you have a few options here.

  Thom Parker (Windjack Solutions) is a great example of a video in a PDF (developed in the LC Designer). You can download the 10 MB file here http://www.windjack.com/DownLoads/MultimediaXFA.pdf

  For complex solutions, we sometimes make a series of short screenshots using Adobe Captivate. They focus on specific parts of the form, rather than streaming video. The next step, you can do in an earlier version of Acrobat, but the implementation in version 9 is the best (if your users have Acrobat or Reader v9).

  In Acrobat, we insert the. SWF from Captivate into a blank PDF files (you can set up a corporate background for the PDF, rather than a white to white). In v9 you can insert the. SWF files as Flash objects or objects of movie. You can also include some basic instructions on the form, for example how to...

  The packaging then the shape and the help file in a portfolio. In this way, you place the form and help set file, side by side. The video does not return the shape, but is handy for users new to the form or for advanced users who want a refresher.

  Finally, one of the advantages of this approach are that the bytes of the video are not sitting in your form (they are in the help file), so that when the form is submitted, you get only the shape and not the video as well.

  This is one we did for the demonstration of a system. The buttons on the left had mouseEnter and click actions; with the information in the main area.

  

  In this particular form, we also had a static image that appeared on the left fields when the user hovered over one of the fields on the right side. This allowed the user to view additional information that they would need to fill in this field.

  

  Finally (phew...) down the blue direction field has changed according to the field in which the user was hovering above. This gave written instructions / guidance for each field. It's a simple to mouseEnter event script: guide.rawValue = "of the text."

  You have some problems-

  (1) software license Service is not running

  (2) you have a Tamper of Auth Mod present (TTS error)

  I suspect that this might have been caused by install you a new antivirus? (which one?)

  If so, you need to uninstall and upgrade of Windows Vista SP 2 level of updates to Windows, and then reinstall your anti-virus again.

  If it is not the anti-virus, it may be malicious, or any other program that you have installed 3 days before the problem appearing. Yet once again, uninstall the software and see if this removes the problem or try a system restore to about 6-10 days.

  Hi Stephen39,

  Do you have any 3rd party plugin installed for Adobe Reader? If not, close all instances of Adobe Reader running and delete the entire folder to: C:\program Adobe [version] \Reader\plug_ins.

  Now go to control panel > programs and features. Locate the entry for Adobe Reader X and choose to repair the installation.

  If you do not have a 3rd party plugin installed, try to uninstall them and see if the problem is related to the same. If it works, let me know what plugins have been the origin of the problem so that I can have a look.

  If all goes well, this should fix things.
