GoBack installed - Invalid Drive! message - cannot initialize

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 with WinXP Pro and 80g drive Seagate Baracuda. Had for years without any problem. About 8 months ago, I must have deleted a CD writing software and could no longer access the CD drive through Explorer or with any Cd/DVD writing software.  Searched the web and found an entry Regestry which can fix this and the CD player began to appear in the Explorer, but as WMP never drive recognixed the CD. I don't know if it's related, but wanted to give you all of my situation. I also started to get this message to start 'not found primary transmission. Press F1 to continue or F2 for Setup. I press F1 and my computer starts very well. I got Goback V4 installed for many years.

The Goback file became corrupt I could no longer boot, as the system remained in the trunk of the corruption of Goback loop because Goback found corruption. I found a recommendation for Goback problems - I need to change the partition type by using a partition editor, which I did because Goback had changed. I could restart and save files by mounting this drive as a secondary drive. A ran chkdsk and ended. Reinstalled this drive as a disc master, started and I went to Control Panel Add/Remove to remove Goback. GoBack said has been removed. I shut down the computer and now I get the message after pressing F1 (same message as above), "Invalid Drive!". It's going to be okay.

I bought a MBR Master Boot CD and entered two Dell specific Partition type and will continue to receive the same message, set the Active NTFS partition. See the diagnostics. The partitions are there. Have no idea on how to go beyond that. I ran a diagnostic MBR run and the diagnosis result file reviewed by someone who wrote that MBR diagnosis and they report that the MBR looks like right. But I still get the "invalid disc!" and will not boot up to Windows Xp Pro. My thought is as the MBR looks ok, the message '"training primary' that I get for quite awhile (even allow me to press F1 and start) won't let me continue. Don't know how to solve this. Any help appreciated.

  • cannot initialize application

Hello. This is my first post, so please, be gentle. I am trying to install a program (Cloud 9). It has installation and two Cloud 9V2 files.

It seems to install, but then when I try to run it I get this message "cannot initialize application. Error 42. Please try a right click and choose "run as administrator. If the problem persists contact technical support"

I have been informed by the software company another Vista user sent this response "response was to change the properties of the application and define as compatible XP in administrator mode.

I have only one account and that I created on instalation. It is labeled as an administrator. I guess that I am logged as administrator by default. When I right click on the program files there is no option to make the xp compatible software (no compatibility tab). When I right click on the installed software there is no option to run as administrator.

I sought help for XP compatible and found a link to the program compatibility Wizard. I have run the wizard, select the Cloud9V2Setup file, slected XP like compatibility mode, all left the options display controlled, checked the run as administrator and proceeded to the instalation. The same problem and the error message will occur.

I posted this question here because the options do not appear to be described as if I'm the administrator, so I wonder if there is something I missed on the administrator mode.

I hope someone can help. Jane. x

    • What version of Windows are you using?
    • How long have you been faced with this problem?
    • What were the changes made before the show?
    • What is the full error message that you receive?

I recommend the clean boot and try to install in clean boot state.

Configuration of your system in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

    Hi Anthany,

If you have a hardware device that does not properly with your computer, you probably need a driver updated. There are three ways to update a driver:

    • Use Windows Update. You will have to perhaps set Windows Update automatically download and install recommended updates.

    • Install the software from the manufacturer of the device. For example, if your device is equipped with a disk, this disk can contain software that installs a driver for the device.

    • Download and update the driver yourself. Use this method to install a driver that you download from the manufacturer's website. If Windows Update can't find a driver for your device and the device didn't come with software that installs a driver.

Step 1: Download and install the latest version of DirectX.

Step 2: Download and install the latest graphics driver and see if it works.

    Hello

During the installation of Windows 7 or 8.1 using a USB stick - get the message "cannot be installed, it is a GPT partition.

I have 64 bit install discs for Win 7 and Win 8.1. These two install on my desktop in duel boot. I made a Flash DRIVE of each disk so I can install it more quickly.

Problem: I get the cannot install because it is a GPT partition.

Y at - there no way to make these 2 USB sticks work?

    Thank you, Brad

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

Your computer does not have Microsoft's Downgrade rights and you must buy a copy of Windows 7 with a valid Microsoft COA and product key.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install Windows 7 from a USB and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '.

In addition, as the factory hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Original title: I deleted the files from automatic update and windows update keeps trying to install

I've done an update for a long time on an old computer unused spare XP and Windows Update said that he had to update a large number of files, so I have left to download and install.  Once the 45 updates completed, I rebooted as instructed and proceeded to clean a lot of old data.  Apparently I deleted (7) files for Office M/S that must be installed, because the Winows Update icon in the status bar telling me I had 7 sto update to install.

Now Win Update always tells me that the files should be updated and starts the process, telling me that they are already downloaded, but it fails every time because they are not where they should be, as I deleted them without meaning to.  How can I do the update for these startup files, or where can I get the appropriate files to allow the update work properly?

Yes, I know it was stupid, but this is the frist time that I asked for help from Windows 3.1, so I don't feel too bad.

I have download the individual Ko * .exe files support, but get an error 1327 Invalid drive / M error whenever I try to install one of them.

So is the printer connected to the router or you are going through the router to a shared printer on another computer.

Whatever it is, the printer driver must be executed in the process of printisolationhost rather than the spoolsv process if the spooler will not process that is corrupting the print driver.

When you have Pro and Ultimate is easy.  If you have home made me know if gpedit.msc launches Group Policy Editor.

For Pro and home run printmanagement.msc

Drivers, find the 1522, right click, pilot of isolation, isolated

Now, start the spooler service.  Since the driver does not work, you must remove it by using any HP software used to install the driver.  Normally in the programs, you can find the installation of HP and select uninstall.  Reset.  HP.com head, pick up the HP driver published last month and start again
