  • Install Oracle GoldenGate Linux to synchronize two schemas from database on a single server

    Hi all

I have to synchronize two schemas from database (Oracle 12 c) in a single host RedHat Linux to demonstrate and understand the use of OGG V12.1.2.1.0. I try to do. But it's complicated and confused me because I am new to Oracle and Linux. I followed this tutorial ( install Oracle GoldenGate for Oracle 12.1.2 on CentOS/6.x to 6.x/RHEL Linux 6.x EL ). But it is difficult to understand how I can match with two diagrams of database on a single server.

And I found this tutorial (Oracle GoldenGate on Linux: two-way replication of Oracle 11 GR 2 to Oracle 11 g 2). He said: "" If you have that one host, it may be useful to change the /etc/hosts file to create aliases forhost01.example.com and host02.example.com.". What it really means?

The other seems to be useful. But it's totally different from 1. Is that this will help my job since I use 12 c Oracle Server?

Can I get some tips to continue my task?

    Here's another tutorial - http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/goldengate/12c/OGG12c_Integrated_Replicat/index.html

It has everything set up on a single Linux host.

  • Where to install Oracle GoldenGate?

    Hi all!

In order to CONSOLIDATE the data of 5 databases (3 MS SQL server and 2 servers Oracle) in a single Oracle DB where Oracle GoldenGate should be installed?

The "Installation and Setup Oracle GoldenGate for SQL Server" States:

"For a Microsoft SQL Server source data capture, Oracle GoldenGate must be installed on the database server. Do not install it on a remote server. »

However, is not clear to me what 'remote server '. What is the MS SQL Server?

Also to copy the data from the 2 Oracle servers where OGG should be installed? The source servers or in the target server?

    Thank you for your time.

    Emanuel

You get confused about the terms used here

This document means for the extraction of MSSQL, goldenagte must

be installled in the same server this database resides on, IE the database

    Server.

During extraction of Oracle database, logs can be sent to a staging

Server and then extracted, or can be extracted from the database server

himself. In other words, extracted can be installed on the database server (normal

extract) or the staging server (extract from ALO)

  • Synchronize two schemas from database on a linux server using Oracle GoldenGate

I followed this guide ( http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/goldengate/12c/OGG12c_Installation/index.html?cid=9167 & ssid = 0 ) and for two different databases running on the same instance of database schemas.

What I have now is a Linux server with two Oracle database schemas.
I have access through my Linux virtual machine. I want to do the synchronization possible between them.

I use Oracle GoldenGate to make this possible. What should I do now? Goldengate is must be installed in the server too? I'm totally new to this situation. Can someone give me at least the major steps before going to the more comprehensive study?

    Well understood. This helped.

  • GoldenGate software version question

    Hello

We are working on the transfer of our application/db between AIX and Linux x86_64.

Our application uses goldengate software. Our installed software version GG 11.2.1.0.3 SDBA.

But we want software version greater than 11.2.1.0.25 GG.

Our sdba says that 11.2.1.0.3 is the same as 11.2.1.0.30 and 11.2.1.0.3 are the newer version than 11.2.1.0.25

I don't agree with this information.

Can someone confirm if below are true?

    (1) GG version 11.2.1.0.3 is not the same as 11.2.1.0.30

    (2) GG 11.2.1.0.25 version is newer than 11.2.1.0.3

    Thank you

  • Can GoldenGate - I put my target database?

    Hi all

    Oracle 9i Db

    RHEL 5.4

I installed Golden Gate 11g on our Database 9i, source and target texts.

Can I update our target 9i to 11g database? Without touching or reinstall Golden Gate?

    Thank you very much

    JC

    Hi, Jenna.

It is not a big problem to configure two repetitions of the target. If you are going to replicate even tables from one source to two targets then I would suggest the below.,.

1 configure an extraction process that extracts/capture changes from the redo records and written in the files of trail (trail local / source path).

    2. set up two different extracted datapump processes. One for destination1 and one for target2.

    3. configure the replicat process in each target systems.

You can follow the configuration of DML and DDL replication from the link

Installation and Configuration of replication DML to the GoldenGate, Oracle 11g | ORACLE-SNA

    http://www.Oracle-SCN.com/DDL-replication-configuration-of-Oracle-GoldenGate-11g/

It is a one-way configuration between two oracle systems (one a source and a target). But the target should respect the steps twice since you have two target must be configured. This topology replication or architecture is known as one to many (a source and multiple targets). Remaining are all the same.

    Kind regards

  • How does the GoldenGate keep its metadata

Whence the GoldenGate store metadata that is? If I add E/R, EXTTRAIL, RMTTRAIL to my Instance of GoldeGate, where GG stores this information?

I had already 'Berkeley DB' error when issuing the GGSCI command, could he uses Berkeley DB?  I restarted mgr to the Berkeley DB error disappear.

Hi, when you ADD a process, that information is stored in a .cpe file in the dirchk directory.  It is the control point for the process file and you will notice that a .cpe file gets created with add EXTRACT... even if you do not have a settings file.

The checkpoint file also has track to process information and it is must match what is listed in the file settings for this process.

Berkeley DB is for the jagent process if you run with ENABLEMONITORING in your GLOBALS file, which is used when you have GoldenGate Monitor or plug-ins installed OEM.

Regarding the metadata for the table that stores a process, which is done in memory when the process starts.

    I hope this helps.

  • GoldenGate 12 c on the database 11g

    Hello

Wanted to know if Oracle Goldengate 12 c is compatible with Oracle Database 11.2.0.3?

(Integrated capture mode) To use capture integrated with a database of the source Oracle 11.2.0.3, download and install the 11.2.0.3 specific set of databases to extract patch integrated. See the My Oracle Support 1557031.1 article for all the fixes delivered version of Oracle database. This mode uses a server logmining on the source system or in an Oracle database downstream. For more information,.

So to use OGG 12 c IC minimum version requirement database are.

    1 > oracle 11.2.0.3 + apply a specific fix - MOS 1557031, or 2 > to use Oracle 11.2.0.4

  • Integration with JMS GoldenGate

    Hello

I have GG test bed good for a continuous replication work below:

    -OS: Windows XP (local PC)

    -DB: Oracle XE 11.2

    -GG: 11.2

-Source and target are on the same host database

Now, I'm trying to send the modified data as messages to Oracle Weblogic Server and then the same eat later.

Read some articles and its suggested to install 'OGG Java adapter package', but I am unable to find the same online.

Could someone help me and give me some advice on

-Where to download 'OGG Java Card package.' of

-Installation and configuration of the steps to activate the JMS integration.

Thank you much for the help...

For GoldenGate Software (for the implementation of data capture & replication) is OTN. GoldenGate adapters (a single download containing the file flat writer & Java (and JMS) adapter) are only on delivery, with updates posted on the support site. It is important that you are running with the latest patches ("patches" on the support site are complete distributions; there is no need to download first delivery and manually apply the "patch". To use the latest maps GG (Java and/or file-writer), just download the patched from the support site version)

To download the maps GoldenGate delivery (see below to get the latest versions on support site):

    • go to https://edelivery.oracle.com (accept agreements & continue),
    • Select 'Pack produced': "Oracle Fusion Middleware" and "Platform" (e.g..,.) Linux x86_64)-online 'Go '.
    • Follow the link for 'Oracle GoldenGate to Oracle v11.2.1 Media Pack for Linux x 86-64'
    • Download 'Oracle GoldenGate maps V11.2.1.0.0 on Linux x 86-64 for OGG v11.2.1'
      • Oracle GoldenGate adapters v11.2.1 includes:

        • the Java adapter (JMS consumer & producer, Java API user-exit) and flat file generator.
        • a ' generic ' GoldenGate (not database library dependencies, so it can run on a host without a database installed libraries).
      • to install, unzip the archive, 'ggsci' and with ' create sub directories "(that's all)
      • another version of GoldenGate (e.g. GG for MySQL) or GG for Oracle can perform user-output adapters, as long as the same version is used (same "major.minor"); for example, GG for Oracle 11.2 can run GG adapters 11.2. The JMS capture should run in the supplied "generic" version of GoldenGate.

To download GoldenGate from the support site:

    • go to https://support.oracle.com and login
    • go to "Patches and updates"
    • Click on 'Product or a family (Advanced)' and the following fields:
      • 'Product' is => (start typing "GoldenG... ") => Oracle GoldenGate Application adapters
      • "The release is" => GGATEADP 11.2.1.0 (or higher)
      • "The platform is" => possibly select "Linux x86_64", etc. Or uncheck this line by pressing the sign less '-' symbol
      • Click on "search".
    • Download the largest number of patch, or the latest patch to release date

The documentation is OTN : Oracle GoldenGate Documentation Library (11.2)

  • Newbee Goldengate Questions

    Hello

I just watch about GoldenGate to evaluate to see if it will do what we want.  I have read a lot of information but have not fallen on the answers to some basic questions rolling in my head.  Any help would be appreciated. These are real newbie questions so I apologize if seem really Basic...

The prod environment is Oracle CARS 10.2.4 on windows 64.  The new prod environment is Oracle 11.2.0.3 RAC on windows 64.  The test environment used to learn GoldenGate is Oracle 10.2.0.4 (no cars) on windows 64 as a source. It has a copy of the database of operational prod.  The target database is Oracle 11.2.0.3 (no cars) on windows 64.  The target is newly installed with a data base of departure yet created with nothing in it.  The goal is to use GoldenGate as 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.3 upgrade path.

Question 1 - What Versions of GoldenGate?

Of course, we will use windows 64 bit, GoldenGate 11.2.1.0.1, I guess GoldenGate 11.2.1.0.1 - for Oracle 10 g must be installed on the source, and GoldenGate 11.2.1.0.1 - for Oracle 11 g must be installed on the target?  It is this correct?  This seems obvious, but I don't like to assume anything.

Question 2 - capacity replication and extract.

The goal is to replicate the database to 10.2.0.4 on 11.2.0.3 and have an extraction process (probably go) is going to keep the 11.2.0.3 new database, synchronized with the 10.2.0.4.

    Is this possible?

In the test environment, the 11.2.0.3 database is a new database has just grown.  There is not even the 10.2.0.4 patterns or storage spaces.  To replicate, how many the 10.2.0.4 database must be put in place?  I think the storage spaces must be created, and the users who own the schemas must be created, to match what is in the 10.2.0.4 source?

    Question 3 - a good book?

    Question 4 - a good counselor?

Thanks again for any advise you can offer!

Question 1: You're right, well if you have a MOS account, get the latest versions of OGG for your db/OS specific out there, on the site of the Patch.  There is a 11.2.1.0.12 for Oracle 11 g on windows x 64 and 11.2.1.0.4 for Oracle 10 g on Windows x 64.

Question 2: OGG is not a tool for database replication, but DATA replication software.  You must create the target on the 11.2.0.3 objects db yourself, either with EXP/IMP, RMAN restore, etc.  There are suggestions to make a first loading here: http://www.ateam-oracle.com/?s=goldengate+initial+load and using OGG in conjunction with the initial load, you can capture changes to the data (and DDL for Oracle for Oracle, but stick with the basics of DML for now) here on the.  The link above has a guide to migrate too.

Question 3: I happened to have contributed to this, so I'm a little biased, but I don't know there are many others out there: Oracle GoldenGate 11g Handbook: Robert Freeman: 9780071790888: Amazon.com: books

Question 4: Forums like this one and Oracle Learning Library (research on goldengate): Oracle Learning Library (OLL)
