Google Chome extensions

So currently the VDI out end-user deployment.  That being said, we are first and foremost a Google Chrome shop (for the default browser).  I tried to put Chrome in both an AppStack or in the image, both ways show similar behavior, which means that end users cannot install the browser extensions.  We are a non-persistent environment with volumes writeable attached, Horizon 7, AppVolumes worm 2.11 and zero customer end users.

If I install the extension in the AppStack or image so I can make them work, but our users have different extensions they use and try to install 100's of different extensions in the image of gold or the AppStack is not practical.

Error when you try to add a google chrome extension is:

Not able to install the package: "COULD_NOT_GET_TEMP_DIRECTORY."

Any thoughts?

Thank you Ray. This has been documented in the user's Guide the AppVolumes on page 41 / the value of DriveLetterSettings is 4 instead of 6.

  • Webcam not displayed in a Google Chrome Extension with pepper Flash

    Hello Adobe,

There is a problem with the Flash version of pepper in Chrome to access the webcam.  When embedding a Flash application that accesses the webcam inside a Chrome Extension and click on 'Allow' (to allow access to the webcam), the expected behavior is to see the webcam image.  Instead, we see only a black screen - no picture - and no real mistake that the camera is inaccessible.

If we turn off Flash pepper and use lightning main plugin Chrome, then the Extension works perfectly (we see the image of the webcam).

Note that if we try to load the same HTML code directly as a web page with Flash of pepper, this works also.  So this leads to the conclusion that there is a problem with the following combination: pepper Flash + Extension Chrome + webcam.

It is a major set back to set useful Chrome extensions that use the webcam.  Can what comments you do on this issue.

    Thank you.

Nope.  My initial recommendation to open a chrome bug stands.  I am hopeful that another fix webcam in Chrome could solve this problem, but looks like it's specific for use in a chrome extension.  My hypothesis is that the nature of process in the PPAPI model sandboxing prevents us to access the camera in the case.

This isn't a use case that test us or support, is therefore no guarantee terms of long term stability or prioritization of patches it must break in the future.  I just want to be clear that it is staggering if you create a business on top of it.  That said, we do not like to see new uses for Flash and try to help if possible.  The rate and the pace of the browsers change makes it difficult to predict what will and will not work long term in this kind of borderline cases.

In the PPAPI world, there not a lot of leeway "to work things.  The beauty of the PPAPI, is that it provides points of own congestion by which Google can restrict plugin behavior.  Greatly enhances the security of the end user, it is intrinsically more restrictive with regard to our ability to generate clever hacks.  (IMO, it's a good thing in the long run.)

Google engineers would really need to throw an eye to understand this behavior is not currently allowed and how / if they are interested to provide a manufacturing process, it works safely.

  • Solution for Google Chrome (Helper) by using a lot of ram and cpu on mac os x

    Hi all

Some people have several tabs of google chrome, and it's using a lot of RAM. It also causes the fan go crazy sometimes. I looked for a solution for centuries, but no solution has allowed, until I stumbled upon the simple solution to use a google chrome extension that hibernates unused tabs. The problem has now completely disappeared.

There are a few different extensions that Hibernate unused tabs, but the only extension which has enough options setting to do what I want, is called "The Great Suspender".

You can set the time, after which the Hibernate (sleep) tab. The tab automatically resumes when it focuses on, (i.e., you don't need to then also click on a specific button). And the tabs of the extended day before will remain in hibernation after you restart the computer.

There are many other parameters that can be changed. (After you have made changes, don't forget to click the 'save changes' button.)

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • 18.0 R Firefox displays my Google Contacts, but when I click on a contact, I can't open it. I'm unable to click and open any component of Contacts.

I use Firefox 18.0 and Windows 7. Google Contacts support contacts, however, I am unable to open and edit individual contacts. Similarly, when I click on groups, more, try to go to the next page of contacts, change my settings (gear icon) or which group I consult, nothing happens. I am able to scroll the displayed contacts page, it works when I click the icon 'all or nothing' next to the icon of the Group and the work when I click on new group and import Contacts in the lower left of the screen. I deleted the cached Web content and deleted cookies. At the opening of the Google Contacts on this computer in Internet Explorer or on my other computers using Firefox R 18.0 it works fine. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thank you!

I ran through the procedures described and found the Yontoo "Runtime" interfered with my Google Contacts extension. Interestingly, that had been installed on my computer in may but it is only this week that there was a problem (that's a coincidence for upgrade to Firefox R 18.0). I disabled the extension and removed the program Yontoo which some sites suggest is malware. I am at a loss to explain how it was installed on my computer.

  • need to uninstall and reinstall firefox, google chrome will not allow him, tells me I'm going some page open and I did not

need to uninstall and reinstall firefox, it tells me to close google chome windows I get thi message when I
go to the Control Panel programs and features high firefox uninstrall
I did the same process with google chrome

Uninstall Firefox ask you to close Google Chrome? It's strange. I guess that you have closed all the browser windows when this happens.

I should ask: why do you need to uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Usually, this does not resolve problems with Firefox. Maybe read this article: Firefox Refresh - reset the settings and Add-ons.

  • Google toolbar is strange. It is not 'complete' when I type a partial search.

With the help of FF4... When I begin a search by typing in the Google toolbar, and choices appear in the drop-down menu, select one of the choices but they do not fill the search. For example, I start typing "am holland" and several choices appear in the drop-down list including Holland America cruises. I select holland that america cruises, but the only thing that is populated in the research is that the Holland origin came. IE doesn't like that and FF does not work like that front of FF4.

If you talk about the search bar Google Toolbar extension, it's a fault with this extension in Fx 4.0RC which must be fixed by the developer of this extension. Try using the arrow towards the low key scroll down your choice in the menu drop down and use Enter to select - rather than clicking on the choice. Some users have reported this works.

  • simplepass chrome extension

Because google locks extensions not webstore fingerprint reader no longer works.

Please put the extension chrome "Site Web Logon 6.0.100": HP SimplePass logon Extension Web site: wearing the Id: kanflfepiobnpjbljmngfgegijhdpljm which comes whit laptops fingerprint reader in the chrome web store

I read on google that it will cost you $ 5.

If you do not find this much I'll pay that.

I finally got mine to work. I have the login 6.0.100 Web site and I am running Windows 7. He takes a few steps, but I hope it will work for you too...

First thing you need to do is to go to your menu extensions. Under the logon Web site icon, there will be a message on how the extension is disabled because it wasn't in the chrome store or some BS like that. There is here a link that will tell 'additional information' or ' tell me more ' or something like that. Click on the link.

Then, there's a page explaining a few things that you probably don't care. Down, there is a section on how to operate the third party extensions. There is a link to download a developer mode of chrome. Click the link and download and install the developer mode. It will install directly on your version of chrome.

Then close chrome and click the Start button. For chrome and right-click on "Google Chrome" and click Properties.  (Note If there are two icons with the same name, to do both)

Last, in the target box, add the following to the end:--enable-easy-off-store-extension-install

    (Ex: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Google\Chrome\Application"-enable-easy-off-store-extension-install)

You can also try using the desktop shortcut instead of the shortcut on the start menu, but I have not tested this way. The fix seems to be permanent, even if I remove «--enable-easy-off-store-extension-install"in the target area, so I wasn't able to test other ways to do it. I hope it works for you.

Edit: I realize that my instructions were a bit unclear, so I made a video. Here is the link: http://youtu.be/kRREPIwCWyg

  • Add native extensions to a project in adobe flash cs 5.5

    Hello

How can I add an android project native extensions? I would like to add a *.ane file. I have the flash actionscript 3.0 and adobe cs 5.5.  I have this information, the project properties-> Flex Build Path-> Native Extensions-> add but I can't find the project properties in the menu bar (not windows-> project). What is flex?

You get used to using the ADT command line tool if you want to compile by using a .ane. Flash CS5.5 has not built such as Flash Builder support to manage the DONKEY for you. Google "adt extension ANE compilation" and it will give you an example of using the tool of command-line adt with support - extensionDir for the included extensions.

I ended up buying just Flash Builder... Main problem being some donkeys will require certain version SWF to compile against, and it is not easy to get Flash CS5.5 to give you, say, a 14 SWF version.

  • Map Quest extension for Dreamweaver 8 - can't find it!

I would like to add driving directions / map to a site I created with Dreamweaver 8.

I googled around and found this link where this person speaks by using an extension Map Quest to get'r done.
    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/18681/dreamweaver_8_map_quest_extension.html

Where can I get my hands on this extension Map Quest? Nothing comes for her when I search on the Adobe Exchange Search, just some Google Pro cards for sale.

Is there a free extension of "Driving Directions / Map Lookup" I can get my hands on in Dreamweaver8?

OK, I found a solution. WebAssist is a free for Google Dreamweaver extension that allows you to easily add mapping maps to a page.

In general this message only occurs if you have several versions of installed Dreamweaver and the extension is enabled at least two versions. So if you have DW8 and DWCS3 and the extension is installed at the same time, and you want to completely remove the extension, open the extensions Manager, then change to DW8 uncheck the extension. Change to DWCS3 and uncheck the extension. Repeat until all versions are unchecked. Select the extension, and then click Remove.

If you still see this message after doing the not checked on all versions of DW, then I suggest try reinstall the extension and try again to uninstall.

  • How can I stop the Zoo research being my new tab popup?

I reset my homepage to be Google, when things were diverted by Zoo research. Now I get that as the new tab when I open it and I want it to stop. I'd rather Google.

If you want to return the default for all Google, this extension is a quick solution: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

However, where you need it, here is the way to 'practice' more than change your the new tab page.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

    Two traps:

    • If Firefox ignores the setting, one of your extensions may be substitution of her. You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on page modules. Either:

      • CTRL + SHIFT + a > click Extensions in the left column
      • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons > click Extensions in the left column
    • If the amendment works but at the next startup is back for the zoo, you could have a user.js file in your personal settings Firefox (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and delete the file: How to fix preferences that will not save.

    A little luck?

  • Cannot update my Firefox and some of the programs say I have

You TUbe is saying that I'll be able t0 access it if I do update my firefox and when I'll update the page and click on date, nothing happens. I did this several times in the last two days, but I do not get a dialog box or anything either and whenever I click update it is as if an update of turning web page leads me to another page, then another and then back to update.

That is what this forum "reading", as the browser you use to start this thread.

    User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; RV:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100316 Firefox/3.6.2 GTB7.1 AskTbWCLV5/3.15.25.44892 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729;.) NET4.0E)

Both the Ask Toolbar and Google toolbar extensions can be 'locked' your User Agent string on the old version of Firefox 3.6.2 and each site that go you will think that you use Firefox 3.6.2.

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Resetting_your_useragent_string_to_its_compiled-in_default

Type of topic: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.

If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.

Enter general.useragent in the filter at the top line.

Do a right click and Reset for any preference that appears "BOLD" and is "the user's game."

    Then restart Firefox.
