Google Chrome Frame plugin breaks RoboHelp 8 documents

We have a large ERP application with a heavy client of AJAX (Dojo based).  The application is an internal application and the supported browser is IE8.  We would like to install Google Chrome Frame (GCF) on the desktops of our users in order to improve the overall performance of the application.

One problem, we discovered in the tests is that RoboHelp 8 will not work if the GCF plugin is installed.  We use RoboHelp to generate a large amount of our workers policy manuals.  When the GCF plugin is installed a user can click on the first link on navigation but then is unable to navigate further.

The problem occurs as long as GCF is installed (regardless of the fact that his licence or not).  If you uninstall GFC, the generated RoboHelp documents start to work again.

RoboHelp generates a presentation of the HTML frame with navigation on the left and readable documents links on the right.  Interestingly, RoboHelp 6 documents work well with the GCF plugin.

We see that the problem with RoboHelp 8.  I don't know if the same problem occurs with the 9 in RoboHelp.  I was not able to find much information on this problem.  If someone else found similar problems with RoboHelp and effective work around we would be delighted to hear it.

It is currently preventing us to ride on the GCF plugin to our community.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Brett

Welcome to the forum.

There was a post possibly a year back where a plug-in has had the same effect. I remember with certainty that the plug-in's, but something tells me this is it and I don't think that there is no resolution.

Chrome itself was not supported by RoboHelp, until what RoboHelp 9 for the version you may be using the problem.

You can install the trial version of RoboHelp 9 on another machine to test?

  • PDF Plugins for Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome support

    Hello

We have a product that opens the PDF in the browser for a person examine documents, execute JavaScript in the PDF and send data to our backend software.  From what I read all cases there is no support for Microsoft Edge and now Google Chrome has stopped supporting Plugins Reader.

Anyone know what are the alternatives or is there a workaround for the different processes to account for what I listed above.

I really appreciate your help and your support.

    Thank you very much.

  • Downloading Firefox, all my saved PDF documents have been turned into a Google Chrome document format, WHY? I want them all change to PDF, HOW?

Downloading Firefox, all my saved PDF documents have been turned into a Google Chrome document format, WHY? WHY a person like me is not notified before that starts the download process so that they have a chance to 'place' or 'Cancel' the download process? I want that they all be changed to PDF, HOW should I do this?

Nothing happened to your files. The association for PDF files is messed up, or is the icon cache.

    1. Click round Windows logo in the taskbar and choose default programs.
    2. Click "associate any type of file or Protocol with a program.
    3. Select PDF from the list, then click on change program button.
    4. Choose the program that you want to manage PDF files. By clicking on the files PDF in Windows Explorer or the desktop then open them in this application.

To clear the cache of the icon, see the directions to

As far as I know, Firefox does not have PDF files somehow. There is a proposal to associate files PDF in Firefox when they are not already associated with an application, but has not been implemented to date (bug 787674).

  • Just changed from Groupwise to Google Chrome w/gmail, how can I get my documents to print to the post office?

Normally I can do a right-click on a document and choose print, one of my printers is set up to create an electronic document.  Now that we have changed from one mail to another system it stills revealed the old e-mail system, "Groupwise".  How do I know what called the printer to display the e-mail system, I had to, "Gmail/Google + Chrome"?  Is no longer, we use Internet Exployer.

Google is not an "electronic mail system. What you're talking about is a webmail interface displayed in a browser, in your case of Chrome. GroupWise apparently you provided a printer driver which converted a document to an internal document to Groupwise. What you want won't work.

If you have any other questions, please refer to the Google Mail and Chrome support on the Google site.

  • How can I download the windows media player plugin for Google Chrome Windows 8

In order to load this app on my Toshiba laptop, I've went to the site of bridges of inoperative character for Chrome and could not download anything.

Help, please. Those of us who are early adopters to win 8 have a hard time with all the applications we want to but because win 8 has not added the correct application for OS 8, we are all dead in the water.
    Thank you.

I just found how to solve this problem on my computer.

When you try to download the file, at the bottom of the page download shows at all?
If so, you need to open another window and paste this address: chrome://extensions/
This brings you to your page of the extension for Google Chrome. You can also get there click on the menu options on the upper right area of your screen (bounded by three horizontal lines), selecting "Settings", then "Extensions".
After that you have two windows open, drag the file from download windows media plugin to a window in the other window "Extensions". The Extensions window should say "Drop to install. Then, drop the download folder, and download.
I hope it works for you!
