Can anyone help?

Hello, Ted

In my opinion, the best address for it helps is your Internet service provider. They should have enough experience with the products they offer to customers.

I don't think you will be as lucky and everyone uses the same card, but I think it has something to do with the configuration and installation of the equipment. Please check s operating manuals and refer to the procedure facilities. You may need to install the software before you put he card in the PCMCIA slot.

I ordere a laptop Studio 17 without the modem builtin HSDPA wireless broadband. I guess that now could be the wrong decision, so I wonder if it is possible to renovate a modem HSDPA miniPCI (x).

I am aware that there are other options such as USB and ExpressCard modems, but I'd rather have an integrated solution. So, it is possible to modernize internal wireless modem?

  • Portege R500 - all chances of getting a kit of renovation of 3G (UMTS/HSDPA)

I just bought my Toshiba R500 here in Germany about three weeks ago. A few days ago, I received information that Toshiba will soon offer the R500 with integrated UMTS/HSDPA modem.
Even more surprising: the price seems to be the same, there is no price increase.

So, I just bought a R500 with 64 GB of SSD three weeks ago and he is already OLD. I've always wanted the R500 with integrated 3G but my dealer told me that there is no information that Toshiba will offer such a product. Of course, I can still use my 3G Express card with a PCMCIA card, but to be honest, it seems silly to have that thing sticking out of the R500.

Now, here's my question, because I am sure that other customers are too affected: is wise and customer Toshiba kind enough to offer some kind of kit of renovation of the 3gs for the R500? I know that there is space, including for the reader of card SIM, but if Toshiba does not offer a kit of renovation, any modification may void the warranty and it can also do not work as it should.

Chances to get a 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) renovation for the R500 kit any time soon? I love my R500 but without integrated 3G, it truly annoys from time to time (btw: the s.cks Word is censored, funny).

    Retro Kit 3G? : D

Hey Buddy AFAIK the 3G card must be connected to the motherboard, and if someone wants to upgrade the small Portege R500, thin with this card you will need to disassemble the whole laptop.
    This would void the warranty.

I m not sure if it of possible to modernize the R500 with such card but if yes, then you should contact the ASP in your county for such a procedure.

I have already seen that the Portege R500 equipped with module 3G / UMTS (3.6 Mbps) high-speed.
Maybe it's better to sell your R500 and buy a new one with the card 3G s? ;)

    Best regards

  • Portege R500 - 11K with the XP drivers for the UMTS/HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS module

    Hello world

    I have some pre-sales questions on laptop nice R500 - 11 K.
I want to install XP pro on this machine. The device is delivered withou XP Recovery CD. (model 11A C)
There are beautiful collection for R500 XP drivers so I can install XP manually.

    NES http://eu.Computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=eu&mode=allMachi & action = search & teddProduct = 747

Model K 11 has another installed UMTS/HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS module unlike models. Great!

What about drivers for this module?
There is not any UMTS/HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS modem drivers listed in the list of drivers for Vista or XP or device.

So the question is, if I want to install XP, where can I find the driver for 3G module manually?
Is the component of another driver driver?
-Does anyone know the name and the type of this module 3G? In my view, the module is provided by aint Toshiba of the seller.

Anyone have any experience with XP on R500 11 K?

    Thank you

    Marek

    Hmm, you're right.
The pilot of the 3G is not available on the Toshiba page

Seems that the driver has been downloaded not however the Portégé R500 was delivered with a * Novatel MSM6275 card * ThreeG (Qualcomm should be manufacturing the chip) and if you want, you could try to download the driver of the 3rd site part.

    Good luck

  • Novatel HSDPA Modem for protégé M700 and Windows 7 RC

    Hi all
After a lot of research on the web, I'm stuck.
I found the current Mobilink (v2_02_37) software that installs successfully and the new Toshiba (1.1.7) Utils.

Now I'm looking a Novatel driver or the real 3G modem. One of Toshiba (ToshibaDriver_V2.01.12) does not install. It restores at the end of the installation.

In Device Manager, I find 4 unknown devices 'data interface' with the missing pilot.

The Toshiba utility can't find 3G modem, when I try to turn it on using FN + F8.

Where can I get an installable version of the Novatel software?

Thank you so much suspicion, except this problem Win7 RC works perfectly on the M700.

Toshiba support replied that Win7 is not supported :-(

As far as I know that Windows 7 is not on the market and what you can use is test version only. Toshiba and other laptop manufacturer will start Windows 7 support when Microsoft it offers on the market and when Toshiba starts to offer equipped laptops to Windows 7.

Until then, you can just play a bit and test the basic without specific stuff from Toshiba features.
    I do the same.

Sorry, buddy, but we have to wait for the official global launch of Windows 7.

  • Satellite Pro A300: XP - Internet HSDPA speed limit - only 1 MB

    Hello

I am user of 2 different models of Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1NT.
I use XP Professional extracted from the original XP Recovery disk.

When it is connected to internet provider GSM using ExpresCard HSDPA modem or HSDPA USB modem I get 1 MB speed limit control on speedtest websites (ie: speedtest.pl) and internet usage is relatively slow when comparing other computers.

When Windows Vista was installed on the model of the A300 speed was greater than 5 MB.

I already checked, I'm in the range of UMTS and speed on other computers (Toshiba Tecra with WinXP Pro, Toshiba A100) and M70 with Win XP Home with the same modem (Huawei) has no such speed limit

What might be the case and the solution?

    Hello

Have you checked the WLan performance using different WiFi standards?
You can change the Wlan standards in Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab.

    Check the settings there.
    I recommend using a WiFi standard 802. 11 G for example instead of B/G

In addition, you should check if you can update the WLan driver and if the BIOS is updated.

  • Mobile phone as modem Bluetooth for SP6100

Does anyone know how to get my K700i to work as a modem for my 6100 SatPro via Bluetooth? What are the settings required on the SP6100?

    Hello

I did a long time ago, but I'll try to help you.

1.) entry GSM as modem in the modem list
Start > Control Panel > phone and modem options > tab Modems > Add
(I'm not sure but is must be set to 6 COM)
2.) create a new connection > under step select a device select your mobile phone. Watch all the ISP phone number
3.) activate the Bluetooth and start Toshiba Bluetooth service Center
4.) on your mobile phone, you must start option for Bluetooth communication with external devices
5.), click field glass symbol and try to check the specifications of the region
Remote devices choose 6). If the mobile phone is listed, try to connect it to 6 COM using the Connect button

Sorry if I forgot something. It is many years ago I used my mobile phone as a modem.

    Good luck!

  • Tryint to set up a standard modem in Windows XP, however, it doesn't have the Types of available Standard modems

    On Modem Standard (33600)

I use saved Window XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3. I need to configure a Standard Modem on my computer, however it doesn't have the Types of Standard modems available in the list. However, when I go to control panel-> phone and Modem Options-> Modems-> add-> Next (check don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list.) most computers have a list of Standard Modems (i.e. Standard 56000 bps Modem Standard 33600 bps Modem, etc.), but I do not have those on the list. I need to choose one of those to create the modem that I need for my use. I did it on another computer and it works fine, but the computer I really want it on it does not have the choice to choose a Standard Modem. Any ideas on how to get the installed Standard Microsoft modems?

    Hello

Follow these steps and check if that helps.

    1. open the file inf under c:\windows\inf

    2. navigate to the modemcsa.inf file.

    3. right click on the file, and then click install.

    4. Once done, check if you have the standard modems listed in the list add a modem.

But no change in connectivity.
    Help, please.

    Hello

    ·          Update you the network card with the latest drivers?

    Method 1:

I suggest that you disable Antivirus software and firewall temporarily on your computer and check if you are able to connect.

Note: Please make sure that you enable the antivirus software and firewalls after the test to keep your computer protected.

    Method 2:

You can try the manual steps suggested in the following article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928233

Note: serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Back-up-the-registry ) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows)

  • Bluetooth connection for Nokia phone as a modem disappears after a few connections requiring a reinstall

Pilot bluetooth Microsoft 6.1.7600.16385 (controlled for update, this is the last version June 21, 2006)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Problem:

Laptop can see the phone via bluetooth and pair a connection. Subsequently I can Bluetooth icon > click > join a personal area network > click the phone icon > then connect to the internet via the phone.

After several connections/disconnections, it is not possible to connect to the internet via the phone as Bluetooth icon > right-click > join a personal area network > no phone icon.

However Bluetooth icon > right-click > show bluetooth devices > current phone icon.

All I can do is to uninstall the phone as a bluetooth device, then reinstall. I have done that so many times, I'm now up to COM32 and COM34.

Then, it seems an inherent instability in the bluetooth driver? I've encountered similar problems, even worse, with Nokia E66 and Blackberry 9700 (neither of which Windows could connect to establish an internet connection).

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    Technical information:

Nokia 6700 classic properties > hardware > Standard modem over bluetooth link #2 > properties > (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) > status > device works correctly.

Bluetooth icon > show bluetooth devices > nokia 6700 icon > click the icon > an error occurred during initialization of this operation. Try restarting your computer or device (don't restart two makes no difference) (by the way when the phone appears under personal space connection > This error message may appear, but it is still possible to connect)

Phone and Modem window > modems > lists according to:

    Standard modem - COM32

Standard modem over a bluetooth link - not attached

    Standard modem via a bluetooth #2 - COM15 link

Standard modem via a bluetooth #5 link - absent

Standard modem over link bluetooh #6 - COM34

    ------------------------------

All the solutions to this problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello qwertyyuiop,

    1. have you set up the Bluetooth modem to connect via phone?

    2. have you got the correct settings from your mobile service provider to connect to the switched network?

There are several settings that you need to set up using your Bluetooth modem. You can get these settings by calling your service provider. They will be able to help you configure the modem.

Or the best way to connect a phone Nokia would be using Nokia PC suite. Personally, I connect my laptop with the phone. I had several problems when you try to connect by configuring modem Bluetooth as the connection used to move frequently.

I suggest to install Nokia PC Suite on your computer which would have received you on a CD with our phone. This will give an option to connect to the network and automatically configures the modem. You can also download the software suite the link below:

  • How can I share my PC Internet on my Symbian phone

Please give me the way that I can be able to share my PC Internet on my phone via Bluetooth symbian.

    It's actually pretty easy.
Make sure that Bluetooth is activated on your phone.
Right mouse click on the Bluetooth system tray icon and select "Add new connection"
    Select your phone...
Enter a PIN code for example 0000
Enter the same PIN on the side of the phone as well.
Click in the "window of advanced settings Modem button"Advanced settings of Modem". It must be a string that has been automatically detected.
Simply confirm the windows until the installation is complete. Open the IE confirm select the just configured DUN connection and browse the internet.
You must enter the advanced string modem manually if it could not be detected. In this case you should check your ISP site in order to
find the suitable channel GPRS or HSDPA, phone number, username and password for correct installation. If you enter incorrect data you will encounter
    a connection failure error message.
