graceful withdrawal--emulate ' close panel?

Hello

I need a way to close a VI, which was started from a server VI "runVI" somehow, the vi running can catch the request to stop.

Background is a set of plugin screws that get open Ferdinand in a panel of void.

Whenever I have an open another I want than the earlier to stop the execution.

Yes, I have the reference, so I could run the Abort method, I could ask the user to click a button for termination, or I could send a notification or may be something else.

What I really want to do, is to generate a "narrow Panel"? -event, take the fence, do some housework and then stop execution.

Any good idea? (LV2013)

Gabi

Hand VI creates the user event and launches the target:

The target VI waits, then handles the event:

  • Panel close? Event causes the front panel for not responding

I am trying to create a simple program. Some time ago loop that generates random numbers, just so that I can see it is running. An "Exit" button is connected to an output of the while loop Terminal. The event structure is also in this loop, which intercepts "Close panel?" and don't know, then said of faithful son in the while loop output terminal. To be more precise, the output terminal takes an OR statement that takes the button leave and this Structure of Boolean event as inputs. When I run the program, the release button does not respond, however, with the highlight the part of structure of the program event execution seems to work. Sorry if I'm bad at explaining, any help is appreciated.

I guess my real question is, how do correctly implement you that a button exit stops the loop and clicking on the red x or File: Close is ignored and rather does the same thing as your Exit button.

The problem is that you don't have a case of timeout in the structure of your event, so he's sitting there, waiting for any registered event (in your case, the only recorded event is the closing of Panel event).  He reads your button to quit once, you should see if you run with execution highlighting.  The while loop can not continue until all that it ends and the structure of the event may not finish until an event occurs.

A better solution than adding a timeout event is to add an event to change the value of the button exit.  Put the Quit terminal inside the case of the event and the wire which, in the same tunnel connected to stop the while loop.  If you do this there not need timer loop as the structure of the event will be sitting there waiting until the Quit button or Panel is closed.  However, if you want to add more code inside the while loop that will run continuously, then you will need a time-out event (that can take the place of waiting since the timeout will regulate the timing of the loop).

  • Close control reminder eventdata for Panel

    Hello...

I'm sorry, this seems to be a basic question - but in fact, I couldn't find an answer in help...

I built a panel that is displayed by using InstallPopup (); Besides other controls, the Panel has a button OK command, and in the editor of the IUR narrow control of the Group of experts has been assigned to this button. (there is no reminder Panel for this Panel)

Accordingly, pressing the OK button or by clicking the close button in the upper right of the Panel title bar called the command callback function, and in both cases, a VALIDATION event is generated because the command button is a quick access control. That everything is perfect.

Now, in the callback function CVICALLBACK PanelOK (int command face, int, int event, void * callbackData, int eventData1, int eventData2) I thought to make the distinction between the OK button and close Panel button and then I checked the settings eventData1 and eventData2.

By pressing the OK button gives 0 in two settings, and in my opinion that's fine.

However, by clicking the close button in the upper right corner of the title bar of the Panel gives 1 in both settings, and I'm trying to understand why there is a 1 and what means this value.

According to the help (userint.h) and the event data for a VALIDATION event settings are for

    • menu selection events
    • table events
    • events of the tree
    • Mark state changes
    • changes to the label of finishing
    • Double click on
    • key return
    • column labels
    • graphs

This case applies here? And what is the magical keyword should I entered in search of help for the answer me?

    Thank you!

    Wolfgang,

Besides cases you listed here, the event data are not defined. It is usually 0, but not necessarily. You certainly shouldn't count on that it is 1 in this case.

This essentially means that you can't really tell the difference between these two events. If you really make the difference, enjoy the round table of EVENT_CLOSE.

  • Menu of time performing - table close round

    Hi all

I have a small question on the menus of the run-time behavior:

I have a configuration of structure of event to detect the Panel close? event to handle some stop code before my application closes. I wonder who the selections of run menu triggers a narrow Panel? event. I know that by clicking on the Red 'x' will trigger it, but I also want to include an option 'leader-> Exit.

What is the difference between closing and exit items in the menu of the run time? If the two trigger narrow Panel? events?

    Thank you!

File-> exit is an exit of instance of labview, it says "he will abandon vi - s current enforcement". It doesn't matter in what VI you pick this item. Very similar to the abort red circle. Do not trigger Panel farm event.

File-> close, Ctrl + W, Alt + F4, Red Cross - close the current window, all trigger event ' close panel?

  • thread different not mobile Panel

I () will have applications of measure which changes, sends a bitmap image in its Panel to a network Variable.

I have a player that connects to the network variable. It was a reminder that fires on an update of the value or the State. Because the size of the bitmap is variable, recall retrieves the size of the bitmap, adapts to the size of the Group and its control of the single photo and copy the bitmap to the image control.

It seems as if the reminder runs in the same thread that is different from the hand. The Panel with image control is to build (using NewPanel) since even when updated its tire recall the first time. It is a toplevel with Windows minimize/maximize/close panel. A hidden control is used to connect a callback to the closing of Windows. Resizing and display once and update the network variable works very well. However, I'm not able to move the Panel by picking up with the mouse. (During recovery mode debugging, parameters, GetPanelAttribute reports that it is mobile).  I'm not able to close the cover with the closing of Windows.

I built any additional features (such as the management of Windows messages) for this Panel. I need only as an indicator to display a bitmap image.

What should I do to make it a chattel or able to close?

Depending on how you connect to the network variable, the function is actually called in a separate thread: this document examines all available methods to read of an NV and lists the features for each of them, execution of the thread includng.

To resolve this problem, you can modify your application so that the Panel is created in the main thread or in an explicit Candran, which calls ProcessSystemEvents () so that the user is properly managed. The drive function could then retrieve information from the NV, decode and send all data to this thread via a thread safe queue or some other method.

  • Replacement drive DVD open/close button does not reach (model HP p6110f)

    Hi all

I replaced my DVD drive on my P6110F desktop with a model from Asus. Everything works fine * except * the fact that existing teeth of the open/close Panel button do not reach the real button on the disc itself, me leaving no option but to use a desktop widget to open the CD tray.

I searched on the net and can't seem to find a solution. Any ideas on how to make this work? Thanks for your suggestions.

    Czar

I had the same problem with my P6-2371ea, so what I did adjust the screw until it touches, then tighten them, if it is not an option due to too much of a gap to take the front off the PC and put a match with adhesive tape double sided on the DVD button or something similar it has worked for me in the past

  • Lumetri Scopes - brought another missing Panel options

I try to use the scope for the RGB parade, but I don't seem to have access to all. When I go to my extended Lumetri and click on the little icon with three lines, I only have the following options:

    Close panel

    Remove the Panel

Close the other panels in a group

    Group of Panel settings

There is no other methods, from what I see, to access the other items.

The watching educational videos show an icon with three lines and a little down arrow which does not appear on my screen, so I can't go to those other tools. I tried to restart my machine and use the 2015.4 version.  How can I get these other panels?

  • Is it possible to connect my Application ' Stop' button with the "Run" button of LabVIEW?

Problem - one of my clients recently tested my new LabVIEW application and asked how the arrested LabVIEW application can be restarted without clicking on the "Run" (right arrow) button.

Is possible solution - possible to connect my Application ' Stop' button with the "Run" button of LabVIEW?

    Thank you!

    Barry

The big problem is in your Acquistion to stop audio event. You run the LabVIEW stop sign which is the equivalent of hitting the Cancel button in the toolbar.  (See contextual help on that).  You can stop the acquisition, but you don't want to stop your LabVIEW program.  You need this case in the event your computer to transition state in a sleep mode when you do not make any purchase.  Then hit the purchase button to start again transitions the machine state in the acquisition.

In your case of program output, you want really to leave LabVIEW it.  You want to run and stop commands like closing the com port and one of these activeX references.  Then allow it to stop the while loop.  Turn the LabVIEW out outside the loop so that once everything is cleaned, your application may close.  You probably want to wrap this command in a case structure so that if you are in the execution environment, it leaves your application.  But if you are in the development environment, you don't want to cause your LabVIEW environment stop.  Another thing is that right now, you actually have a race condition in the Exit event.  The com port will close first or LabVIEW will come out.  There is no defined order of execution.

Alternatively, you can have an event to close panel? in this way, you haven't accidentally short circuit all your program by pressing the X key.  You want to capture this event, discard it.  And if you want to not actually closed, did trigger the Exit Program button so that you can gracefully shutdown.

  • "Plugin - container.exe has stopped working" error during installation of Firefox 36.0 via SCCM if Firefox is open during installation.

When installing Firefox 36.0 via SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), if the previously installed version of Firefox is open during the new installation, an error, "Plugin - container.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly. Please close the program. This problem occurs only if Firefox is open during the installation, otherwise the installation is successful. Note: I have included a taskkill to 'firefox.exe' in my installation script to stop Firefox runs.

There are new logic in Firefox 36 monitor to stop crashes while the Mozilla Crash Reporter can capture data. This could have the effect of killing her task, I'm not sure. Maybe you have to kill plugin - container.exe before firefox.exe? I'm not familiar with SCCM and it might have a more graceful way to close an application.

  • Loading dynamic Subvi

    Hey guys...

Please help with this problem... Attached an image Ref

Two things, first it is a VI method to open and close panels of façade which is the recommended technique. Secondly, as written, your code does not return all the data of the Subvi called so if there are errors, you will not see them.

  • LabVIEW 2012 while the structure of the event does not stop

    I am LabVIEW 2012.

An example of a while loop with the structure of the event inside can not be stopped with the stop key, Boolean.  Something wrong?

    Please see the attached VI.

    Thank you.

Yes, something is wrong. You must add one for the event in order to detect a change in value on the stop button.

The thing is now your structure for the event rest waiting for one of the event which she handles and ight now, it handles the "close panel" event, the 'timeout' event is too manipulated, but since you do not have anything related to the terminal of timeout (top left of the structure of the event) the timeout is - 1. So, when you run the VI the while loop is stuck in the first iteration and is waiting for a sign nearby, the stop button will only take into account after that same structure intercepts an event; I think it's because LabVIEW will execute the code related to the Terminal stop of the while until after the rest of the code that he has completed execution of the loop.

    Hope this helps

  • Unrecoverable internal error: line image.cpp 12727

My application has a button called out VI to quit, but Labview popup, an error message "unrecoverable internal error: image.cpp 12727 line", this error message reports only when the application has been built in EXE. If I run the VI in Labview, he could leave without any error. My Labview version is 8.0.

    Hey,.

You can try to hide the front before allowing the application to quit, that might solve the error. Use the FP. Indicate the property and the wirte "Hidden" or "reduced" to it.

For example, you can set this in a structure of events with the event "Close Panel".
