Graphic export entity

Hello

I got my running FrameMaker XML application and millions and millions of lines of data export successfully.  I was SO excited to be able to do it completely on my own (and with many of you!)

We transferred the data from our provider that creates a search engine for us but they have ran across a problem that they (as the non-FrameMaker users) and me (not really a person of "XML") cannot understand.  I will stick below what they say, this is the case, compared to what should be happening and see if yall can help you?  I hope this is easy since we receive a serious delay.  Their email to me:

The problem is that FrameMaker's naming of the graphical entity for export charts, but is not extinguishing associated entities that complement the card.

Here is an example:

< chart >

<>sheet

" < graphicobject entity = ' graphicobject1 "impsize =" 6,760 in 7,063 in "impby ="ref"on the side = '0' impang ="0.000"no 'in 0.188' = none = ' 0,076 in" position = 'below' align = 'where' cropped = '0' float = "0" width = 'in 7,135' height = "in 7,216" angle = "0.000" nsoffset = "0.000 in" / > "

< title > checklist for change of engine (Page 1 of 2) < /title >

< / map >

< / icon >

< chart >

<>sheet

" < graphicobject entity = ' graphicobject2 "impsize =" 6,756 in 7,012 in "impby ="ref"on the side = '0' impang ="0.000"no 'in 0,247' = none = ' 0.089 in" position = 'below' align = 'where' cropped = '0' float = "0" width = '7,250' in height = "in 7,191" angle = "0.000" nsoffset = "0.000 in" / > "

< title > checklist for change of engine (Page 2 of 2) < /title >

< / map >

< / icon >

Note that the "BOLD" red stuff are the assigned logical name for the chart frame.  The real-world entities are usually out with the document, and features describe the format and the location of the graphics.  An example is preparing be similar to:

< entity graphicobject1 'c:\myfolder\somewhere\mygraphic.tif' >

< entity graphicobject2 'c:\myfolder\somewhere\mygraphic.tif' >

Without the bodies, we do not know what the actual graphic file is mentioned in the xml document.

Anyone knows what is the cause?  Maybe something I declare in the application or read/write rules?

Thanks as always,

Lyncca

Lyncca,

I do not normally export in XML format, but I played around with it to see what it is. In my read/write rules, I have the following:

element {"Graphic"
is the graphic element of fm;
attribute 'file' is the property of fm file;
}

This indicates to FrameMaker graphic element file attribute must contain the properties of FrameMaker file, which is the location of the graphics file. On the XML output, it produces something like the following:

<>
file = "... /.. '. /.. "/ WS - 0656.eps.
impsize = "3,329 to 2,537 in" impby = "ref" on the side = "0".
impang = "0.000" x_offset = "0.000" in decalage_y = '0,083 in '.
position = 'below' align = 'where' cropped = float '0' = '0 '.
width = '3,973' in height = "2,636 in" angle = "0.000".
nsoffset = "0.000" in / >

The XML output has no entity declaration.

  • WPF graphics export to image problem

    My problem is that I created a new custom personalized using the chart wpf OR as a base. The control includes mainly the chart, its axis and legends on a grid. To allow the legend be moved, I put it in a grid of the child. My problem is that he was trying to export as an image control, I use the code below (similar to wpf graphical image export):

    Rect bounds = LayoutInformation.GetLayoutSlot(MainGrid);
    var bitmap = new RenderTargetBitmap((int)bounds.Width + 1, (int)bounds.Height + 1, 96, 96, PixelFormats.Default);
    bitmap.Render(MainGrid);

    My problem is the axes and the edges of the image exported to the Clipboard is dark as shown below. Is saved in the image, the edges are quite transparent but better (not visible in the photos app but visible in the paint). My question is why is this behavior and how can it be avoided?

    Thank you.

    The problem is the default color of the grid or niGraph in WPF is transparent. I simply changed color or image now saved correctly.

  • Graphical export with the application

    I noticed on some sample application, I installed, it says you want to install objects of aid or something to that effect.
    How can I join the graph export of the application so that when I install it somewhere else I don't have to do seporatly.

    Doug,

    If the images are in the shared components > Images and specified for this application, you can create an export file by going to home > Application Builder > Application XXX > Import/Export > export > Images (tab). You can then add this file to your Setup Scripts supporting objects. Then when you export the application, the installation script will be included.

  • text to Excel and insertion of graphics problem?

    I have a program that stores all data in a .csv file, but is open in excel.  Everything works fine except when I try to import a chart image using the report generation tool.  It worked fine when I tried it on a dummy .csv file, but when I copy the results of the trial itself in the same file dummy, it will work not declaring a conflict with how the results are imported, but I still there.

    I guess it's how excel opens and automatically imports data (comma, tab delimited, etc.) when the first file has been installed on computers.

    I hope that's not too vague, but I guess I might have to do a separate .jpg file for each graph I want with the same name.

  • export data wave graph problem

    Hi all!

    I have a problem with my table of waveform:

    The length of the history of the chart I updated 5 X 24 X 60 X 60 = 432 000 comments. I draw a new point in all the 1 minute, so that I can preview as the last 5 days. The problem is, when I'm just trying to export to Excel, the data for the chart, the data are not in the order time (if I export the data to the Clipboard, it is all the same). The data starts with the second day. And Yes, before I export data, the x-axis are configured to be autoscaled, so I don't see 5 days together data curves. But after export, in the table opening Excel (2010 office, LabView 2011, silver chart) the data are really mixed upward...

    Anyway, the workaround is simple: 2 clicks in Excel and it puts the data in order, but I'm curious to know why it happens... I guess I'm doing something wrong with the berries of waveform of construction?

    Is this a bug?

    Thanks in advance!

    PS. : I have attached a graphic exported to jpg format what I see, and excel table with "mixed up" sequence of data, as well as the Subvi, that I use to generate and send the three points of the chart made every minute.

    Hey,.

    as far as I know, it was a change in the interface ActiveX of Office 2007 to Office 2010.

    You wouldn't have this bug in Exel 2007.

    Try to use the the VI 'Export waveforms to spreadsheet' or if you use a PDM file.

  • What might explain the difference in performance for .exe and .app files?

    So I have a projector MAC of my file on my mac laptop and it runs great, the animations fluid and play FLV...  I have exactly the same file of projector that runs fine on windows desktop computers, but on the computer it chuggs windows laptop and stutters.  No idea why?

    The laptop has Flash player 10, and the activity monitor uses only 26% of its memory resources.  Any other ideas why it would work on a portable MAC but not on a windows?

    Thanks for your help,

    Void

    If it is an application, foot, update of Flash so that you can export to Flash 11.4. When you use applications always export to the most recent flash and runtime player.

    You need to explain a bit about your project in order to obtain advice on how to optimize it. Without knowing what your project is done in detailed ways, it is as good as a mechanic trying to fix your car without seeing, on the phone. He can say that you need to change your oil every 5000 and battery every 5 years, but it's about under the generic name I can get.

    The Office has a plethora of RAM and CPU available, so these are more generic advice:

    • Do not make "too" at the same time. What you do greatly defines "too".
    • Use of assets (graphics, videos,...) which are in size and compressed properly so that the Flash Player doesn't have to change anything, unless necessary.
    • Activate cacheAsBitmap on all the objects on the screen which do not rotate, scale or modify alpha often. Elements of the interface, the logos and the controls are always targets.
    • Bitmaps are much faster than the vectors pixelation from image to image. If you prefer to use a large number of vectors, for those who don't rotate, scale or modify alpha, embed them in a MovieClip and check cacheAsBitmap. The vector will be a little soft, but it will make at the speed of the bitmap image.
    • Transparency by excessive boundary layer. Some people make a single image the size of the stage as a 'framework' with the transparent punched Center. Things like this cost, as each unique image rendering engine transparency must be in the calculations.
    • Dear event managers limit like ENTER_FRAME. Replace them with timers or anything that's not seek enforcement of generally useless code every single frame.
    • Limit or omit entirely masking the extent possible, because it is very expensive.
    • Sometimes setting any MovieClips wants 1-framework layered graphic export for actionscript while definition of the base class for flash.display.Sprite can give a bump in this performance of clips.
    • Make sure that you set GPU for your target public hardware acceleration, or Direct if you use Stage3D.
    • Use as much as possible of Stage3D where it makes sense.
    • Use StageVideo and MP4/H264s for videos if possible.

    I can go on and on, but you get the general idea. Limit limit limit and use best practices for optimizations. I need to know more about the nature of your animations and how much is happening at the same time give any useful information targeted.

  • Accumulation of memory in InDesign: how to free the memory?

    Hey guys,.

    I'm fairly new to InDesign extendscript and quickly ran into a problem that I can't solve everyday.

    I'm working on a flash (version with adobe extension builder) Panel which, among other things, automatically the thumbnails page on exports, adds some data and so on... during treatment of pages (true magazine with a lot of content), the memory raises up to 1.5 GB and InDesign crashes. When I try less grave InDesign pages not down, even after the completed export script, InDesign uses still some 1 GB of memory.

    To get initially page thumbnails, I use the built-in function Document.fileExport (Menu-> export (JPEG)).

    I absolutely do not understand the tricky part is, if I call with window options (Document.fileExport: showingOptions = true), the memory instantly drops about 10 MB. So I 'bypassed' this problem by exporting pages in bursts (10 pages at the time) and indicating the options for the export of 10 pages. This way memory relies for 10 pages, then descends and accumulates again. But never up to 1.5 GB of crash InDesign.

    As you can guess, this workaround is real pain in the anus, because export is automated is no longer and need operator / monkey push-button every 5 minutes or up to prevent InDesign crashing. (reminds me of the TV series LOST )

    I tried to call $. gc(), but absolutely nothing happened. Even when I created the button dedicated with single purpose: call $. gc() and kept pushing for 10 minutes after export was over - nothing happened, the memory was still upstairs.

    I just reopen the old project (abandoned due to the accumulation of memory) and was really surprised that he was suddenly works fine. I did a little googling and discovered that there was an update of InDesign in August 2010 that included graphics export patches.

    So, if anyone google this thread, it is more relevant if you update IDS 2010/10.

    Way to go Adobe!

    Thank you, Peter

  • Small files eps of places make huge pmd file

    I have a page post 64 with an eps graphic placed on each page.  Each chart is about 60-70kb on disk (they are graphic export Sibelius music scores). Each page is has a few sparsely populated text blocks. The size of the file .pmd, even after did a "save under" is more than 231 MB!

    Eps files are so small that I only get the message usual "are you sure you want to put this big file of your publication" when I place.

    I guess I can try to go through all that and replace each graph with a version linked and not embedded, but I have no confidence that this will help a lot, given that the total of all eps files size is not more than 4 MB!

    PageMaker explodes eps files in a kind of internal representation which is huge?   Any ideas?

    (Another clue that something in the eps files is 'bigger' that seems to indicate the size of the file, it is also takes forever to generate a PDF of the publication.)  Never seen it in any of my other work, and I used a lot of PageMaker).

    Thank you!

    Yes, it's a) pre view and b) alwaysand if in doubt, it is always, LINK your images.

  • Cannot export to framemaker graphic element

    Hey you,.

    I need help for the export of the graphics on the conversion to XML. General FM exports an image modified in a new *.cgm file. This method works. Now, I would change the eps format and wrote the rules of read/write:

    element "Grafik" {is the graphic of fm;
    writer grounded frame export to file ' $(entity) .eps "as"EPSI";}

    When I save the FM document in XML format, the message appears: cannot export the FrameMaker graphic element () to the specified graphic format.

    The XML will be created an also the entity for graphic design, but not the necessary graphic file. What's wrong?

    Thank you

    Stucki78

    Hi Stucki,

    With this type of workflow, your best bet is to manage all the data image outside of FrameMaker and import a single object in a single embedded image. It's a little difficult to give up the convenience of the FrameMaker drawing tools, but I think they're generally incompatible with XML back and forth. There might be a way to do it, but I think it would be very complicated and perhaps the unintended consequence of too hard for your translator to work with anyway. I'm no expert in translation, but in this case, I would say that to manage your vector art with captions in a standard format (Visio, Illustrator, etc.) and submit these files to the translator, and then import the composite image in FM. In all cases where to send images of fancy for the translation, that's how I do it.

  • Problem exporting graphics in format XML - dpi vs. impsize

    Hello

    FM 7.2b128, XML export using schema.

    I had a structured application that I used for a while which exports an attribute impsize (what I want) and does not export the dpi. Read/write rule is:

    element 'image '.
    {
    is the graphic element of fm;
    attribute 'impsize' is fm property import size;
    attribute 'impby' is fm property import by reference or by copy.
    attribute 'sideways' is the property of fm on the side;
    attribute 'impang' is fm property import angle;
    the 'x_offset' attribute is fm horizontal offset property;
    the 'decalage_y' attribute is fm vertical offset property;
    "position" attribute is fm position property;
    "align" attribute is fm alignment property;
    attribute "cropped" is property of fm cropped;
    "float" attribute is the property of floating fm;
    the "width" attribute is fm width of property;
    the 'height' attribute is fm height of property;
    the attribute 'angle' is the angle of fm of property;
    the attribute 'nsoffset' is fm offset to one side;
    }

    However, I made a few updates to schema/ESD and other changes and suddenly is exported is more impsize, only dpi. I can't understand anything I could changed to cause this to happen. In literature, he suggests that I should put in rule "specifies the size as", so I did, but I still can't impsize back unless I put in a rule to drop the dpi, such as:

    element 'image '.
    {
    is the graphic element of fm;
    default of facet writer
    {
    specify the size inside;
    }

    attribute 'impsize' is fm property import size;
    "IPR" attribute drop;
    attribute 'impby' is fm property import by reference or by copy.
    attribute 'sideways' is the property of fm on the side;
    attribute 'impang' is fm property import angle;
    the 'x_offset' attribute is fm horizontal offset property;
    the 'decalage_y' attribute is fm vertical offset property;
    "position" attribute is fm position property;
    "align" attribute is fm alignment property;
    attribute "cropped" is property of fm cropped;
    "float" attribute is the property of floating fm;
    the "width" attribute is fm width of property;
    the 'height' attribute is fm height of property;
    the attribute 'angle' is the angle of fm of property;
    the attribute 'nsoffset' is fm offset to one side;
    }

    So it works, but is it the right way to do it?  Did I just get lucky until impsize has been exported instead of dpi?

    Thank you

    Russ

    Hi Russ,

    Long time since we talked last time.

    If I myself remember well (have not worked with 7.2 for awhile), the writing mechanism attribute is also related to dtd definitions when there are alternatives. As with the entity reference or a file, fm watched the dtd and attr entity declared, which used there. Because the dpi and impsize cannot coexist, you must use rules of r/w to select that one gets written out so the dtd (and I suppose that the same thing happens with schema) defines both.

    (Not sure..), it could be that this dpi has a priority higher than impsize, so if the two are declared fm use dpi unless r/w says of the drop.

    I would say that you're doing the right thing here.

    See you soon,.
