  • BLOB Brush tool is not displayed option pressure...?

I use Illustrator CS4 and I want to use the Brush tool blob in conjunction with my Wacom tablet specifically so that I can use pressure sensitivity option.

However, when I double-click the blob Brush tool to change the settings, the only settings I have for me are 'fixed' or 'random '. 'Pressure' is grayed out.

The Tablet I use is a Wacom Graphire2, which supports sensitivity to pressure very well, and I use it in Photoshop CS4 with pressure-sensitivty lit, to dynamically adjust the size using the Brush tool.

So why is it grayed out in Illustrator?

Have you checked if the most recent driver is installed?

  • Selection of lines and striking Ctrl z BLOB Brush tool

I did research for this response, but I'm afraid it's too specific.  Basically, in Illustrator Windows 7 is now the CTRL key is a shortcut to the selection tool when a person is using the blob Brush tool. (among others also)  This means that if my cursor never flat on a line when I hit undo (ctrl + z) he also selects the line because I hit the CTRL key.  That is to say after the initial cancellation, I also have my cursor to another place where there is no line and press the control key to deselect the line that this is highlighted when I hit ctrl + z.

I know this isn't a big deal, but having to move your cursor whenever you want to undo a mistake is really boring.  By selecting the shape is not perform my drawing, but I prefer not to have a set of highlighted lines while I paint.

Is it possible to select line segments when you hold the CTRL key, can I stop Illustrator?

I think my formulation was weird and I think that's why I couldn't find the answer.  Only by highlighting the lines, not selecting them and I was able to extinguish under view > guides.

    This problem is solved.

Although for reference, if anyone is curious, this was my problem.

  • in the Blob Brush tool keyboard shortcuts?

I use Illustrator CS5 Blob Brush tool with a Wacom Cintiq tablet. I would like to be able to vary the size of the brush by assigning a keyboard shortcut to the express keys or touch the band of the tablet. The only shortcut keyboard I can find is shift + b. that takes me right to the Blob Brush tool window. Is there a way to vary the size of the brush on the fly using up/down arrows, etc.. ?

  • I can't stop the Blob brush, create new layers, or painting on layers other than the one intended?

I'm having trouble with the tool BLOB brush. I applied to a layer clipping mask, and I'm pain inside. If I paint touching the object in the layer it works fine, but if it doesn't touch or touches a layer above the I targeted that has the same color, then paint on a new layer, or on the top layer. Is it possible to disable this option? It's frustrating the dick out of me.

Basically, it's how the blob Brush tool is supposed to work.

    What you could do:

-isolate an object or a group existing, then paint.

-block the other layers that you don't want painted.

  • Brush & tool add shape task stray anchor points

    Hi all

I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me. I use a fully licensed version of Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 on OS X 10.9.5 and having a problem with the Brush tool and the brush of Blob.

When drawing freehand with the brush or the blob Brush tool and make a curve it often (but not always) place anchor points in weird positions which means that I often get things once again, in which is annoying when it comes to a complex line. I thought at first it must be my Wacom pen but I tried with my mouse and the same thing happened. I have attached a screenshot that shows the problem. The line in the corner should be smooth, but instead, he created a strange bulge. As you can see that it does not happen with the pencil tool, so I guess it has something to do with how judges Illustrator where anchor points should appear when drawing freehand.

I tried to change loyalty to 0, but it does not help.

I would be very happy to help with this.

    Thank you very much

    GS,

It's the Blob issue resolved by Kurt with the effect > Distort & Transform > Zig Zag (setting the size to ridges by Segment and from 0 to 100 (you can get away with less, but should not be)).

In your version, it has probably been moved to the appearance (click on the announcement of the stroke) palette.

  • Profile of variable width Brush tool keeps resetting

This problem is baffling to me. I'm relatively new to Illustrator, so I would appreciate help. I use Adobe Illustrator CS6 with a mouse, rather than a tablet of pressure.

When I create a line using the paint brush tool, I hold on to contain a profile of variable width. For example, narrower at the beginning and at the end of the race, but thicker in the middle. Now I can do this by selecting the line, after that I did the race and choosing the fundamental definition of the brush in the drop-down list.  But if I try to draw a new line, the settings are reset again.  I can't create a variable race during the creation of the race. The definition of brush guard given to pt 5 round and accidents vascular cerebral width 1 pt. It would be much faster if the race remained as a profile of variable width I created features.

I noticed the same problem with the blob Brush tool, except that it's even worse. With the blob Brush tool, the weight of the race resets always regardless of whether or not I try to define a profile of Variable width.

I tried to uncheck "New Art has basic appearance" mentioned on another forum, but that has not worked.

I know its possible because I've seen on this youtube video. http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=R5wW_65iAiU

View the profile of variable width is maintained, like artists, raffles. It is not keep resetting.

    Thank you

OK - I thought about it.  I was tried on a thicker line, but I guess this line had been created by the brush, or at least brush "3 PT round" had been applied to it.  When I clicked on the back of base, the designation of variable width appeared.

Phew!  Thanks for sticking with me on this little stupid thing!

  • Hello! Is it possible to convert a trace made with the Brush tool a blob in a simple brush trace (a simple vector line - not two lines with a filling in between)? Thank you very much for your help!

    Hello!

Is it possible to convert a trace made with the Brush tool a blob in a simple brush trace (a simple vector line - not two lines with a filling in between)? Thank you very much for your help!

    No, I don't think.

  • Sampling of color using the 'Option' key while the Brush tool is selected (CS6)

I'm used to 'Option' by clicking on a color, while using the Brush tool, to set the foreground color. In CS6, it updates the color background instead, even though the Panel clearly said 'Info' 'Click to choose the new foreground color' when I hold down the Option key. Which setting I'm missing?

The foreground color is the active color in the color chart.

Manually select the eyedropper tool and click on the option, updates the foreground color. Simply clicking, updates the background color

Look in the color Panel. The shade with the Untied border shift around it is one that will be changed by Opt/Alt-click when you use the Brush tool. Click on the one you want.

  • POLL: Blend mode options in the Brush tool?

layers.pngIt is a survey question for users of all versions of fireworks. In Fireworks 8, I noticed a difference in the properties of the Brush tool depending on whether the selection is an object or mask - in particular, the blend mode options do NOT appear in the property inspector when a bitmap mask is selected, * except * the object was chosen in the first place, as well as the Brush tool.

Please try the steps below and let me know the results:

    1. From the pointer tool, select a mask bitmap image (by selecting its thumbnail in the layers panel) and choose the Brush tool.
The blending mode menu in the property inspector?
    2. Now, with the still active brush tool, select the thumbnail of the object being masked.
The blending mode menu in the property inspector?
    3. Now, select the pointer tool and then re - select the Brush tool.
The blending mode menu in the property inspector?
    4. Finally, select the mask, with the still active brush tool again.
The blending mode menu in the property inspector?

In Fireworks 8 (on Mac OS 10.6.8), the answers to the above questions are, "no, no, Yes, Yes." So it is possible to use the blending mode of the options with the Brush tool when you are working with a mask bitmap image, but it's a complicated process to get these options appear. I'm interested to know if future versions of fireworks exhibit the same behavior. Anyone with a different version, please chime.

    Brush_no blend options.pngBrush_mask w_blend options.png

UPDATE: I still would like to hear from users of Fireworks CS3, CS4and CS5, CS5.5 on this issue! Please take a moment to help. All it takes is a Fireworks document with a bitmap object and a mask (not vector). Don't forget to indicate which version of Fireworks you are using.

Using Fireworks CS5 on Win 7, same results:

    1 NO.

    2 NO.

    3. Yes

    4. Yes, it still seems to work as expected with multiply that blendmode

Maybe the blendmodes are disabled simply because they are not that useful on a mask bitmap?

    So good luck.

    My answer was correct.

  • Why the Brush tool uses a lighter color than what I selected

When I use black that he uses a gray and I don't know how to change it. I can use it on the pencil, but the lines are pixelly

What are your parameters of brush tools in the options toolbar? Mode, opacity, etc. of flow.

  • What is the difference between the brush and the BLOB brush and I can't change between the two in hindsight?

I've been using illustrator to create a model complex of medieval sources, its irregular so I had to get physically using my Tablet rather than forms. However, I just realized that one section, I drew with the Brush tool to paint instead of the form of the task I had used. I don't know if I used the right tool at first, but now the sections don't fit on the overall picture even if they have the same size of pt etc. Can I change something how they were drawn quickly, or I have to redraw the object? Sorry for my naiveity that I am just learning.

The blob brush draws stokes immediately deployed in forms.

The Brush tool draws paths that have a stroke applied. So you can easily change the path, and you can change all the options (including the option to apply a totally different brush) brush.

You can expand easily just the brush stroke. Select all the paths that you have drawn with a Brush tool and use the object > expand apperance. Based on the other blob brush settings, you may also use pathfinder functions to combine all forms.

  • Firefox 8 menu icons are all dark gray blobs, I can't read! How to bring back the old, bright look?

I just upgraded to Firefox 8 and so far I hate it. The biggest problem is that all the icons are just dark gray blobs, that I can't read. I don't know which version I was running before, but the arrow to the left and the "home" button and all the rest were bright and clear and readable. Now, I can't even read what is in the address window.

How to bring back the bright look?

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

Try another theme of Firefox (Tools > Modules > appearance/themes):
