Group by date with time lag

Hello

my table has the following columns: mydate DATE and myval NUMBER.
I have data in the hourly resolution, ex:
MyDate myval
2008-01-01 00:00 123
2008-01-01 01:00 456
01/01/2008 02:00 454
.......
2008-01-01 23:00 345
2008-02-01 00:00 445
2008-02-01 01:00 878
....

I need to get the sum of myval for every day, but a day of 24 hours from 06:00 until 05:00 the next day.

the result should look like this
sum of day
01/01/2008 454354
2008-02-01 34545
2008-03-01 345343
.....

the first line (day 01/01/2008) is the sum of 01/01/2008 06:00 until 05:00 01/02/2008.
the second row (day 01/02/2008) is the sum of 01/02/2008 06:00 until 05:00 01/03/2008.
and so on...

the SQL code I've written is:
Select to_date(mydate,'dd/MM/yyyy'), sum (myval)
FROM MyTable
to_date(mydate,'dd/MM/yyyy') group

but it gives me to each line of the somme for the day from 00:00 to 23:00, and not what I need.
SQL> create table mytable (mydate,myval)

    Originally, I had just the a function with the arguments of VARCHAR2. It worked not correctly because when the dates were gone, the automatic conversion into VARCHAR2 lowered the timestamp. So, I added a 2nd function with the arguments to DATE. Then I started to get "too many declarations of is_same exist" error during the passage of time stamps. This made no sense to me, so, although documentation Oracle says you can't do this, I created a 3rd version of the function, to manage the TIMESTAMPS explicitly. Surprisingly, it works fine. But then I noticed that he did not work with TIMESTAMP with time zones. Therefore, the fourth version of the function. Docs of the Oracle say that if your arguments are of the same family, you can't create an overloaded function, but in the example above shows, it's very bad.

    Finally, just for grins, I created the functions of number two, one number, the other with REAL and even these are allowed - they are compiled. But then, at runtime, it fails. I'm really confused.

    Here's the apparently erroneous Oracle documentation on this subject: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B12037_01/appdev.101/b10807/08_subs.htm (see overload subprogram names) and here are the different types and their families: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e17126/predefined.htm.

    This is because when you pass a TIMESTAMP Oracle cannot determine whether to implicitly convert to VARCHAR2 and use your first function or implicitly convert to DATE and use your second function. Where the "too many declarations" error exist.

    Perhaps due to another error "too many declarations? Because now, there will be THREE possible implicit conversions that might be made.

    I think that the documentation, of the family of 'date', is wrong as you suggest. For WHOLE and REAL, the problem is that those are the ANSI data types and are really the same Oracle data type; they are more like "alias" that different data types.

    See the doc of SQL language
    >
    ANSI SQL/DS and DB2 data types

    The SQL statements that create tables and clusters allows also ANSI data types and products IBM SQL/DS and DB2 data types. Oracle recognizes the ANSI or IBM data type name that differs from the Oracle database data type name. It converts the data type for the equivalent Oracle data type, stores the Oracle data type under the name of the column data type and stores the data in the column in the data type Oracle based on the conversions listed in the following tables.

    INTEGER NUMBER

    INT

    SMALLINT
    NUMBER (38)

    FLOAT (Note b)

    DOUBLE-PRECISION (Note c)

    REAL (Note d)
    FLOAT (126)

    FLOAT (126)

    FLOAT (63)

  • View threads AND grouped by date/conversation

    Hello

    I try to have messages see the thunderbird grouped by date (with a thread on today, yesterday, last week, etc.) and within these threads, see email conversations. A conversation that began three weeks ago, but has received a new email today is expected to manifest itself in the thread today, but from the first email of the conversation.
    I did not understand if it is possible, as grouped by (Date) and Threads are mutually exclusive. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    As you say, it is there only one group so at the time. So I guess that your out of luck.

  • Compose time without date and time

    Hello

    I wonder about the best way to implement a time without date column. Here's the requirement: time without date column must be combined with a date without a time column in order to generate a date with time.

    In the example below, I have a catalogue of modules of courses with a start time specified (09:00:00). I then create instances of any of these courses on a specific date (e.g., 2012/01/01). I must then show the user the composite datetime as 09:00 01/01/2012 and possibly to check the constraints on this value.

    The date without a time is not a problem, a date with TRUNC column (date) = date seems to do the job. For the time being no date, I've considered two options:

    (1) a column from date to date fixed: TRUNC (date) = "2001/01/01 ' (or other).
    (2) a column number between 0 and 86400 with the number of seconds since the start of the day.

    What would you do? Or is there a third way?

    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120501','YYYYMMDD'),10);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120502','YYYYMMDD'),20);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120503','YYYYMMDD'),30);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120504','YYYYMMDD'),60);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120507','YYYYMMDD'),12);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120508','YYYYMMDD'),23);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120508','YYYYMMDD'),45);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120512','YYYYMMDD'),100);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120513','YYYYMMDD'),55);
    insert into XX_SALES VALUES(to_date('20120515','YYYYMMDD'),99);

    We can solve this problem by using the loop now:
    to find the XDATE_G and it's rank in the loop and the XQTY in the range of the sum.
    DECLARE
      V_DATE_FROM DATE := NULL;
      V_DATE_TO   DATE := NULL;
      V_QTY_SUM   NUMBER := 0;
      CURSOR CUR_DATE IS
        SELECT DISTINCT XDATE FROM XX_SALES ORDER BY XDATE;
    BEGIN
      FOR REC IN CUR_DATE LOOP
        IF V_DATE_TO IS NULL OR REC.XDATE > V_DATE_TO THEN
          V_DATE_FROM := REC.XDATE;
          V_DATE_TO   := REC.XDATE + 3 - 1;
          SELECT SUM(XQTY)
            INTO V_QTY_SUM
            FROM XX_SALES
           WHERE XDATE >= V_DATE_FROM
             AND XDATE <= V_DATE_TO;
          DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(TO_CHAR(V_DATE_FROM, 'YYYYMMDD') ||
                               '-----qty: ' || TO_CHAR(V_QTY_SUM));
        END IF;
      END LOOP;
    END;
    Is it possible to solve this problem by using analyze sql?

    Thanks in advance,

    Published by: zhxiangxie on April 26, 2012 14:41 fixed the grouping expected data

    There was an article about a similar problem in Oracle Magazine recently:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2012/12-Mar/o22asktom-1518271.html

    See the section on the 'grouping beaches '. They needed a total cumulative who started once the total reaches a certain amount.

    You need a total cumulative which starts again when the date changes to group and the dates of beginning and end of each group must be determined dynamically.

    This can be done with the analytical functions.

    Here is a solution-based 'code listing 5', the solution MODEL, which is recommended in the article.

    SELECT FIRST_DATE, SUM(XQTY) SUM_XQTY FROM (
      SELECT * FROM xx_sales
      MODEL DIMENSION BY(ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY XDATE) RN)
      MEASURES(XDATE, XDATE FIRST_DATE, XQTY)
      RULES(
        FIRST_DATE[RN > 1] =
          CASE WHEN XDATE[CV()] - FIRST_DATE[CV() - 1] >= 3
          THEN xdate[cv()]
          ELSE FIRST_DATE[CV() - 1]
          END
      )
    )
    GROUP BY first_date ORDER BY first_date;

    FIRST_DATE            SUM_XQTY
    --------------------- --------
    2012/05/01 00:00:00         60
    2012/05/04 00:00:00         60
    2012/05/07 00:00:00         80
    2012/05/12 00:00:00        155
    2012/05/15 00:00:00         99

    If you 9i, there is no function model. In this case, I can give you a solution using START WITH / CONNECT BY that does not work as well.

  • R12: Copy a group of companies with configurations, metadata and data in the same instance of OA

    The idea was born to a very common condition between the companies IT. pre-sales and pro-ventes groups do various tasks, including the response of the RPF/RFI, PoC, building, Solution architecture, customer demo etc. Ususally they do not have the dedicated application instances, or rather they do not find a sufficient number of cases of applications dedicated to deep study of the road. Every other day a group cries out for an Apps instance and the same gets lift for senior management in short time. It gives a lot of pain to the infrastructure/DBA groups because they fail to meet people like them, due to the limited availability of free nodes, resources, networks and space etc.

    I have a Vision of the R12.1.3 (tell SID = VIS1213) installed on a Linux machine. The box is quite busy with his hearts limited, showing little free memory and the attached SAN has insufficient free space remaining. A group of Oracle Apps pre-sales consultants, says "Group 1", is the use of this.»

    Now the 3 other groups are asking for a R12.1.3 Vision instance separately for different reasons below. Each of them wants the instance again and do not share with others.

    Group 2 for deep study of the road against a critical response to RFP
    Group-3 for the development of a point of contact for a customer demo
    Group 4 for the manufacture of PUK media on some business processes

    In this scenario, I should install 3 distinct Vision of R12.1.3 (using CDs or downloaded zip) or clone VIS1213 in 3 different places with different SIDS, possibly on one or more separated nodes (as above Linux node has insufficient free resources). In this case, the need for available server resources and disk space multiplied by 3, so that DBA maintenance for these 3 new instances is added.

    Hope that I have clear air up to this point.

    Then I was thinking if we have "virtual instances" within an existing instance of Apps, by copying from a vertain org level. First I thought I'd take THE level, but it will not work if an instance of group to work with HRMS claims. We must therefore take business group level. After that we will create the appropriate role and responsibility, user profile options so that the new user can see and work on the new BG and data area down only. It will be like a separate instance to use.
    Benefits of my desired task will be

    -no separate server resource, the required network
    -no additional DBA not involved maintenance
    -no separate required backup plan

    So here it is to create 3 new "virtual instances" right within the same instance of VIS1213. New groups will have same URL, same existing TNS details but 3 credentials different existing access. Each of them would be limited in a way so that they can not see each and other data and can not hurt each and other changes.

    This can be achieved if we can copy an existing group of its activities with org structures, metadata and data, within the same instance. Oralce planning cannot be copied within the same instance configurations.

    What I've done so far was I manually created a new BG, attached an existing sobbing (CoA, Agenda / currency), created a new, copied and modified accounting structure flexfields before fixing, created the new ORGANIZATIONAL unit, and then a new InvOrg of master and a new InvOrg clild, defined the profile MO some GL and HR profiles. Then I extracted finished master and data assignment article category Masters against a master/child existing InvOrg, updated the data for newly created InvOrgs, inserted into tables insterface and ran seeded import conc program element. Except for a few, all data have been loaded into base against new InvOrgs tables.

    Then I tried with master provider (with sites and contacts). A few AP configurations are required, and then data provider (+ contact + site) have been loaded against OR newly created (under new BG) base tables.

    I do not proceed after that. I'm currently looking for ideas from the experts on how to go further.

    Planning is able to create this kind of 'virtual instance' within the same instance of OSTEOARTHRITIS?

    PL nowadays return.

  • How can I make the date of the message appear with time for unread messages?

    Messaging systems that I spend show the date and time with the messages. I need this poster to determine the aging and the importance of the received mail. What archive/old economy mail help to drop off mail and not duplicate archived messages.

    Thunderbird displays the time and date for all messages except for the messages of today. Only displayed for today and the date is added at midnight.

  • How can I save my browser history, with dates and times included?

    I need save my history of the browser with the date and hours included. I tried to do the backup, but it saves to a JSON file and I do not know how to open that. Copy and paste into Notepad do not record the dates and times.

    Firefox is not a way to export the history to a text file. JSON in the bookmarkbackups folder backups store only bookmarks and not history.

  • Restoring my data to a new SSD with Time Machine

    I'm going to buy a new SSD hard drive, and I backed up all my data in Time Machine on an external hard drive. Is it possible to restore all my data only through Time Machine? I have a bootable USB key with El Capitan on that, I'm not worried about the operating system. Wouldn't time machine recognize my computer as a completely different machine? This treatment?

    If it is possible how I would go about it?

    Your new SSD must be in the format GUID extended journeled using disk utility. Boot into Recovery (R command).

    Install OS X and use the Time machine to restore all your data.

  • A few days, I bought a mac mini which I transferred the data and programs with time machine: programs have been updated except for iMovie, and now it seems that I have to pay for the update: possible? What I am doing wrong?

    A few days ago, I bought a mac mini and I transferred all my data and programs with time machine: all programs have been updated but iMovie (7.1.4)... However, it seems that, to update to the latest version, I have to pay to download on Appstore: is it possible? what I am doing wrong?

    If it were a new mac mini, you need already installed 10.1 iMovie.  Otherwise, but you already have iMovie 9 registered version to your Apple ID, you can upgrade to version 10 for free, but if (as it appears) is an earlier version then you have to buy version 10.

  • Make XY graph from the string with date and time data

    1 all sorry for my English.

    I have files with data. In this array of strings, I have 2 columns with date and time. I want to show these data to the XY Chart with time and date on some of the DBL and X on Y.

    I tried to do it by myself, but cannot add to time on X axis.

    Hi olderon,

    you date string is something like "30.01.2014" but looking for "%d//%m %y. Spot the problem?

  • Rough terrain when the data is plotted with time stamp of AM / PM or to the right!

    Hi to all programmers.

    I'm attached Datafile. Can someone tell me how to draw this line! I need all of the data plotted on the right and the x - axis with the date and time stamp.

    I understand that the chart cannot understand that after the time: 12:59:59.999, it's 01:00:00.000 afternoon.

    Thanks to Labview 7.1

    Concerning

    HFZ

    Apart from a code that can be simplified by the use of other functions, what I see, it's that the file you provided does not match the format that expects the VI.

    Other comments:

    • I don't understand why you're going to all the trouble of the evolution of the time string when all what you need to do is:

    • All the way at the beginning, use the function of path of the band to get the file name rather than the gymnastics that you're doing.
    • Your time loop must be indexed for auto-loop.
    • I can't quite understand what you're trying to do with all these sliders.
