Group residential access from other computers is read-only.

Two machines, home network, both running Win7 Pro 64.

Both machines have multiple accounts.  On the machine at the bottom are the accounts under the name of Tom, Dick and Harry.  (Not really, but they are good examples, yes?)  On the machine of the floor are the accounts under the name of Tom and Dick.

Tom is the main user on the machine at the bottom.  Dick is the main user on the machine on the floor. Tom & Dick should have permission to read/write to all files in the home group (two machines).  Harry, as an ordinary member of the residential group should only have read permission.

If I right click on the Tom's Documents folder on the machine of dDwnstairs, I see the following permissions:

Homegroup: read; Tom: Owner; Dick: Read/write

Yet, when Dick tries to access to the file of the machine on the floor, Dick read only privileges.  Specifically, if she tries to drag a file on homegroup--> Tom (BOTTOM)--> Documents folder, Dick Dick receives a "Destinatino folder Access Denied" dialog box that says: "You must be authorized to perform this action."  Dick can see and navigate to the folder without problem.

If Dick logs into his account on the box at the bottom, it can read/write files of Tom as expected.

Is there a way to associate the account in the box on the floor with the account on the box at the bottom, so that file permissions are identical regardless of the situation?

Correct, both accounts must be related. And I'm also unclear on the declaration of help text, maybe I'm missing something.

Regarding the setting up of a working group, you are right that the steps are VERY similar. The difference is when you're on a homegroup, the system uses the credentials of home group and not the credentials of the account from your system to connect to a share. So in theory, if you remove all systems in residential group and configure the network in the way that you said in your original post, you should be able to share normally with the permissions that you set up.

Just remember, when you're on a homegroup, the system uses a called hidden user accountHomegroup$. When it connects to a share on another computer, it is not identified asTom, it connects asresidential group $. This is obviously different from a working group that uses the credentials of the current user to connect (Tom).

Let me know if I answered your question, I think I have everything! :)

  • Client VPN prevents internet access from other computers on the network

    Hello.

I run Client ver 4.6.03.0021 from an office on a network of 11 computers via a hub 16-port. Internet access is through an ICS gateway to the cable modem. Once I changed the modem cable to test a backup and then switched back to the original modem. After this, only computers that have the VPN Client (running or not) could access the internet. Computers that have no customer VPN can access only certain sites. Commonly viewed sites would say "site found. Waiting for answer", but the answer would never come and IE 6.1 cling. When I would try ping sites, it would fail. However, some sites such as Google.com would work.

On one of the computers, on a whim of head, I installed the VPN Client but have not set up a connection. Now, this computer will connect to any website I want.

Is there a fix easier to get access to other computers on the network without installing the VPN Client on each of them?

    Thank you

    H. Adams

    Hello

Looks like you are running in MTU problem. The reason I say it is, automatically reduces the MTU value to 1300 VPN client during the installation for the whole system. That is to say all the client computer installed VPN that have MTU from 1300.

Try to cut down the MTU of other systems that have no VPN client installed to 1300. If it's a Windows system, you can use Dr. TCP (free).

I can access the IP address of the server to the virtual machine to the host machine, but unable to hit if other computers on the network.  This is the first time doing this on a machine Windows 7, so please let me know if Miss me something, because I did it on other OS and it worked.

    Thanx

As I posted in your second post...

You need to configure port forwarding if you want to access the guest from outside the host. You must change the VMWare NAT configuration for this file (see you second post).

The host can access the guest without the redirect because it shares the same (virtual) network (VMnet8) with comments. Do not externel systems. They must go through the physical host NIC first. This is where redirection comes in the game.

I have two laptops with Windows 7 (Pro 64).  I had both the join HomeGroup and could access shared folders.  I noticed that when a computer "sleep" disappears from the homegroup.  There is a note on the page of the homegroup password: "computers that are turned off or sleep does not appear in the homegroup.»  Elsewhere in TechNet I see information on WOL (Wake-on-LAN) of Windows capabilities on hardware that supports, and I selected "Allow this device to wake the computer" in Device Manager > network adapters > LAN_Adapter > power management tab.  But without success in waking a computer sleep to access remotely via homegroup.

    Hello

    Wire or wireless?

If it wireless it will be the current wireless hardware does not work do not support this action.

Thread might or might not work depending on the hardware.

While many office computers would wake on network traffic, a lot of laptops would be not because they all plan material manufacturer to save energy.

There is nothing more that we can do about it in addition to checking the suite (not the magic packet) tab in the power management of the network card.

It is one of the issues that are still outstanding (hardware wise) in the entry level network business.

Asked this question in the Windows 7 forum also because the problem was between windows 7 and Vista.

    Hello

If it has started, you can try a system restore - an update "might" have caused the problem.

    1. try a system restore back to a point before that happened. And immediately thereafter enter
Control Panel - Windows updates - top left settings and set it to download and informs you instead
Automatic. Leave it until you are sure that everything is OK and then you can add them one at a time
to troubleshoot BUT click right on and HIDE all the driver updates. Also stop at day of drivers like below
and let this value - manually search for drivers when you think you need. (See how and why to)
    stop day of drivers below.)

How to make a Vista system restore
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-System-Restore-how.html

To uninstall an update if you determine that there are problems - Panel - updated Windows - down left-
    Updates installed - uninstall

I had completely forgotten the system restore!  While looking into the system restore, I found that when I moved into my new House and has cable Internet installed, the cable technology installed a program of comcast on my computer.  This caused me to not be able to connect with other computers.  After rolling back to install it before it works!   Thank you.

  • SIN is not visible and 0 x 80070035 error reported when you try to access the visible computers on the network

I have a wired and wireless network, managed by a Wireless Linksys E3000 router.  The network consists of 3 computers connected wirelessly, a cabin phone Vonage and a 2T NAS connected wire.  The names of the computers and operating systems are listed below.

    (A) Dave-PC, Win7 Pro

    (B) CPT - PC, Win7 Pro

    (C) DavesLaptop, Win7 Ultimate

Computers A and B work quite as expected, they allow access to other computers and NAS.  The problems are air-conditioned and equipped with computer C.  Computer C cannot find the NAS and although he finds other computers, it generates an error 0 x 80070035 ("the network path is not found") when trying to access A or B clicking on the name of the computer in a window of the Explorer.  Interestingly, I can remote desktop in A and B via the context menu in the window Explorer of C.  I just spent a week trying to fix this.  I found several references to this problem on the Internet, but none of the solutions posted worked for me.  I have not found any recent posts so I hope there is a simple solution.

    Thanks in advance, Dave

Here is the solution for "error code 0 x 80070035 network path not found" on Windows Vista and Windows 7 computers. Click on the button 'START', select 'CONTROL PANEL' and go to 'DEVICE MANAGER'. Click on "NETWORK CARDS", then click on 'VIEW' and select 'SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES'. In the expanded view, you will see a long list of numbered "MICROSOFT 6to4 ADAPTER". My Windows 7 Professional Office had 200 of them. Right click and select 'DELETE' on all but 1 of them. You can only do 1 at a time, so it takes some time. When you have only 1 left, restart the computer and enjoy being able to see the other computers on your network, including the RESIDENTIAL group files.

can access my virtual server on the internet?

If you did what I said in my reply to you the other day this subject, you should be able to access by other computers on your local network, but not in itself for WAN connections and you will need to set up your router correctly to enable connectivity on the Internet virtual computer.

You did as I suggested and read Chapter 14 you have a knowledge of virtual networks and then bridged Network Adapter to the virtual machine value and disable auto fill in the virtual network Editor?

  • The tables stored in memory but can be viewed from other sessions

    Dear Oracle experts,

It's maybe a stupid question, but I'm looking for the best opportunity to create a kind of temporary table that can be accessed from other sessions.

I'm afraid that caching is not appropriate for my case due to the machines of reasons cited in my other ads...

First of all I don't think you need to worry about the effectiveness of caching in your particular case. In addition, Oracle is very skillful when actually writing the Sales blocks from the buffer on the disk cache, so if your amount of data written to the array of result is quite small and no other activity is happening on your system it will not get written to disk immediately anyway but remain in memory until a condition is met that trigger the writer of the database in order to eliminate the blocks on the disk.

But there are options that you might consider if you want to avoid as much overhead as possible and write the result of your calculation in the table of results as soon as possible.

You can use the path direct inserts (INSERT / * + APPEND * /) and set the table of results for "NOLOGGING". In this way, no cancellation and minimum never do again is generated.

Note, however, that there are certain reservations and restrictions to consider when using this approach, for example your result table will be not recoverable (what you say is OK), that a single direct-path insert access is allowed at the same time (it blocks the table exclusively, no other possible DML until you commit the transaction / rollback), and the direct-path insert access has some restrictions. If any of them apply that prevent the direct path operation, then it silently returns to the 'classic' insertion mode that generates the undo and redo. One of the most annoying restrictions is that you can not read a table that was written for in the direct-path access mode in the same transaction, you must first validate the transaction, otherwise you get "ORA-12838: cannot read/change an object after edit it in parallel." In other words, adding simply the indicator APPEND you might break the existing logic.

Finally the direct path insert never reuses the space in the blocks below the current high waters, which means that if you make a direct path insert and then remove rows from the table and repeat once again a direct path operation will increase your insertion and empty in the blocks already used space segment won't get reused. Best way would be to truncate the table rather than deletion of lines of it.

There are of the available workarounds to overcome some of these direct-path insert limits (exclusive lock, truncated rather than remove etc.), as the use of a table partitioned (if you have an appropriate edition/license), because direct-path inserts of access may be limited to the partitions. In this case you can do simultaneous direct-path inserts if you use different partitions, but then you sort of logic that determines which partition to use.

    Kind regards

  • Reformat a hard drive, but it still appears in "Tabs on other computers." How can I remove it?

Recently, I reformatted the hard drive in a PC and do not break the link of the account synchronization before doing so. The machine continues to be present when I pull down the menu option "Tabs from other computers"., even if I have not installed Firefox hard disk cool. How do I remove it from the list?

    Hello!

Unfortunately it is not possible at this stage. If something bothers you, next time you format a drive hard or generally remove a device from this point of view you should "untie this device" tab sync in the Preferences window.

Because you cannot return to this specific Firefox profile, you can't do it, but don't worry, it will disappear eventually (the servers store information for ever).

If you really want to remove it, you need to reset the account and reconnect all devices. To do this, you need to reset the recovery key and set up the account on your computer again. This is the process that we recommend when a device is lost. Make sure that you have a backup of your information before starting the: replace your synchronized data

And for information about how to back up your profile, follow this link: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

    I hope it helps.
