growth of data files

Hello

11 GR 2, OS is not serious, the DSO is excluded in this case - only FS

I wonder what the algorithm behind the growth of the data files that belong to a tablespace, but for example for performance reasons, are placed on 2 different physical volumes.

Do you know if the Oracle Server always takes advantage of spread of these files?

What happens if we only have one huge table? -It spreads extended this tables consistently in these 2 data files?

example:
my_huge_table is located in the USERS tablespace which consists of 2 data files:
e:\users1.dbf
f:\users2.dbf

My observation is that it is not expected that users evaluations1 is filled and using the file mobiles2 in parallel. However I don't know if it is reliable where performance is concerned. Please share your verified knowledge.

When you add a second data file to a tablespace after segments have already allocated punctuated in the first data file - these extensions will remain in the first data file - there is no measure of rebalancing mechanism on this layer. The new data file will then prefer to allocate extensions, if, so sooner or later, the two data files will have a fill. This behavior is independent of the type of storage to that of data files.

Kind regards
Uwe Hesse

Only solution is umount the point of editing or the db bounce. It is because of 'SEMAPHORE '.

Semaphores are sharable resources who take a non-negative integer value. They are manipulted by the P (waiting) and V (signal) functions that decrement and increment the semaphore, respectively. When a process needs a resource, a "waiting" is issued and the semaphore is decremented. When the semaphore contains a value of zero, the resources are not available and the calling process turns or blocks (if applicable) until resources are available. When a process opens a resource controlled by a semaphore, it increments the semaphore and the waiting process are advised.

  • Tablespace, data file auto-extension

    Hi gurus!

    I'm new here, I have a dout.

What you recommend me, generate a data file auto-étend or generate more data for a tablespace file?

Is there a problem with the performance?

Rigth now I a tablespace with a self-aggrandizing data file ' extends, with an increment of 10240KB, it of a table with a level of transaction gran space every day, allowed the size of increace?

    Thanks in advance

879411, I'm not sure I understand everytihing say, but in general you want that data files are rarely extend to 100%. You do not want to set the next is large enough that the file would extend only rarely. You would balance against if at some point, you expect the items being supported in the tablespace to each stop growing or the rate of growth slows down significantly.

Choose a file size which would become perhaps once a week might be a good size to start.

At least the file extend the size should match the object to the extent that is required. In the case of a managed tablespace locally allocated by self, this could be 64 M.

  • AUTOMATIC DATA FILES RANGE ON / OFF

    HI :)

I have the information at the following address data_files list in our database of PROD:
    select file_name,tablespace_name,bytes/1024,AUTOEXTENSIBLE,status from dba_data_files order by tablespace_name;

    /uo1/oracle/oatrngdata/a_txn_data03.dbf  APPS_TS_TX_DATA                   1,202,560Kb YES AVAILABLE
Note that data04.dbf is already 11G, I believe that his autoextend on, but until now I really don't know which column of data dictionary indicates that he was active on the data file autoextended, because I know that all of them are up to autoextend on.

I want to data04.dbf to stop autoextending and quarter using data03.dbf:

    ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE ' / uo1/oracle/oatrngdata/a_txn_data04.dbf' AUTOEXTEND OFF;

ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE ' / uo1/oracle/oatrngdata/a_txn_data03.dbf' AUTOEXTEND ON (I think that don't have to do it because they are all set to ' autoextend we '.)

This will be fine? I'm planning that each data files will be a uniform size of 11g.
My question is, since all data files have been set to 'AUTOEXTEND ON', if I turn off the data04.dbf
which of the other 3 will then activate or extend first?

Thanks a lot for your kind help...

    Ms. K

    Hello

This will be fine? I'm planning that each data files will be a uniform size of 11g.

    Yes, it should be OK.

How to determine if a data file has AUTOEXTEND ACTIVE [1023280.6 ID]
How to prevent growth excessively Tablespace SYSTEM [198477.1 ID]
How to take a file of data out of the Mode AUTOEXTEND [115178.1 ID]

My question is, since all data files have been set to 'AUTOEXTEND ON', if I turn off the data04.dbf
which of the other 3 will then be activated?

The database will pick up the files, and the ADMINISTRATOR has no control over it.

    Thank you

I went in there it has the markings of books, but the problem is it is not really readable a little mixed up and I want to know if I can import it to my only current or somehow get it organized so I can at least see them outside or on a note pad just each bookmark on its own line? You can use the notebook (Firefox/tools > Web Developer) to inspect and edit files in JSON format quite easily.
There is a "Pretty Print" button to add line breaks.

  • Still not get 2016 Outlook and Contacts calendar to synchronize with iCloud. iCloud data file has not been in Outlook but iCloud add-in is enabled.

I use Windows 10 (v1511), 2016 Outlook Office 365 and iCloud 5.2. Mail is downloaded directly to Google mail Outlook. Calendar and Contacts live in iCloud and work properly in my iPhone, iPad and the app iCloud on the PC. Its just perspective that is not sync with iCloud to get these items.

When you try to install a new data file in Outlook in account settings, the iCloud type available, but when you select what the error message says that this cannot be set in the iCloud Control Panel

I tried several complete removal and then re - installs to iCloud for windows and have also done with the firewall and antivirus disabled active.

I also deleted the Outlook data file * *.ost and allowed the installation program rebuild this application fee.

The iCloud "add to" Outlook "add-ins" is active.

The calendar, Contacts and tasks of the iCloud Panel section is checked when re-built, but after Outlook is running this section has not been verified and when you try to check it out and apply the change he UN-checks itself.

Sorry for the long post, but I tried to solve this problem for some time.

    Thank you

    Chris

The same problem.  I use iCloud for Windows 5.2 and Windows 10, 2016 office.   Everything worked well for several months until a few months ago, when sync calendar has stopped working.   I've updated iCloud of 5.1 to 5.2 but that just killed altogether.  Tried uninstalling icloud and relocation costs.  No luck.  When the iCloud settings appears, I check the box for the calendar and Contacts.  The driver then disappears.   I check again and it sticks.  But no messages on 'configure '.   When I close and reopen, the box is unchecked.   A few days ago I had the same problems the other another thread where he would show "set up" spinning forever (well, 30 minutes before giving up).   Not sure if it's an Apple problem or a problem of office.  But this is of course a problem.

  • Stop the quicktime open .dat file

I need to download a data file with the extension .dat from a web page link, but when I click it it opens Quicktime. I looked in preferences-Applications to try to change the management of the .dat files, but I see no entry for them. How can I do it gives me the option to save the file rather than open Quicktime?

You can click the link to the .dat file and use ' save the link under ' to save the .dat on the hard drive.

You have chosen to organize the display by date. Change votes to zero, or name.

Reorganize the key one above "day" is in yesterday on your screenshot.

  • When I back up my data files, I want to understand my favorites. Which folders and/or files should I include in my backup routine?

Under Windows XP. With the help of "ntbackup" to do the job. All software is located in C:, all my data files are on a second physical drive E:.

Firefox stores the bookmarks and the browser history in places.sqlite and either use a HTML file or creates a backup of the HTML for the bookmarks.

There are 10 daily rotating backups of JSON in the bookmarkbackups folder in the Firefox profile folder, one for each day when Firefox is started.

You can make Firefox create an automatic HTML (bookmarks.html) backup when you exit Firefox, if you set the pref to true on the subject browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML: page config you can open via the address bar.

  • My data file trace the wrong frequencies in MWO

I'm plotting a S parameter file, but frequencies in my chart do not match the frequencies in my file.

Sometimes when you try to plot data files (let's say the measured data) against the results of simulation, you get unexpected results.  This coming do not select the right frequencies to the extent.

When you add a measure to a graph there is a selection of default frequency, but you can replace it.  The extent of dialogue for this field is inside, as shown here:

by pressing on the ' > ' to the right of the Freq Sweep field, you can see that there are two selections of possible frequency for the file for the data file.

    • Document is a list of the frequencies in the actual data file

    • Project is the list of frequencies in the frequency list of the projects and those who most probably used by your schema.

If you try to plot two different measures against each other, you'll want to make sure that you have defined two measures on the same bandwidth.

Another thing to watch if you are using a data file with a small number of frequency inside points is the interpolation method.  We have a knowledge base article that explains how to select an interpolation method and the trade-offs.

  • RFGS waveform data files

    Hello:

I have developed a system that uses NI SMU box with generator PXI-5652 and SMU-5450. There is a set of data files that should be provided to 5450 (those write you to niRFSG_WriteArbWaveformComplexI16). However, accurate information about what exactly is in those files is a party.

Y at - it a tool that allows to understand the exact waveform that is stored in these data (other than their loading and using oscilloscope) files? Also, is there a tool that can be used to generate the data files which agrees to NEITHER-RFGEN?

    Thank you

    -Ilya.

    Hello, Ilya,

I don't think that I understand correctly you.

The niRFSG_WriteArbWaveformComplexI16 will have complex entries for example x + yj to data entry and who write on I and Q channels of the 5450. Data file do you mean you want to parse through a file and get your complex values that you will write in the RFSG?

    Thank you
