I'm really skeptical if you can launch the second partition Toshiba ghost image files without using the Symantec Norton Ghost software.

I created a ghost of the C partition image and placed on the D partition.
Recover the C partition to start the utility of Ghost and having to use the file D partition .gho image

I googled a little and found useful instruction how to recover the Portege M3500 without using a CD/DVD drive. Maybe it will work also on the A30 Sat.

  • Need info on max size of HARD drive available for Satellite Pro M30-813

    Hello

The question is mainly to be sent to Toshiba authorized support personnel. The limitation of the maximum size of a HARD drive internal that I could use with my Satellite Pro M30 - 813, what exactly?

Recently, I bought and installed seagate SATA drive of 160 GB, on which I installed WXP Pro and have been running for a while with no problems. Recently, I've been copying large amounts of data to an external hard drive to my new internal drive, and that the files have been copied, as I noticed have about 50 GB of free space left, I knew windows "delayed write failed" and a failure of massive wall without the possibility to recover the data. The system would no longer boot time and the entire MBR has been damaged. As a result, I lost all the data on my new drive.

Well, I realize that Toshiba is not responsible for additional hardware that I use with my computer laptop and who is not officially supported by Toshiba, I am sure that as an end-user of a Toshiba product, that I have the right to know a lot information of limiting size of HDD for my model of laptop. So I ask, representing technical support Toshiba to give me an official reply directly to my question.

    Thank you in advance,

    Andrejs

    Hi Andrew

    > The question should mainly be addressed to Toshiba authorized support staff
I think that you are in the wrong place if you are looking for a response from an authorized Toshiba support.
This is a user to user Toshiba forum! You will here meet passionate and Toshiba laptop owner who share knowledge and trying to solve the problems, but no one of Tosh :(

I could give my experience with Satellite M30 and HDD upgrade possibilities.
To my knowledge the M30 Sat supports a 40 GB, 60 and 80 GB HARD drive for sure.
In my opinion, you can use the 100 GB HARD drive, but more large HARD s drive will not run and works correctly.
So go to a smaller size of HARD drive and enjoy the laptop!

I've goggled a bit and found compatible drive HARD and part numbers
    HITACHI GBC000Z810-> 80 GB
    HITACHI GBC00014810-> 80 GB
    TOSHIBA HDD2188B-> 80 GB

    HITACHI G8BC00013610-> 60 GB
    TOSHIBA HDD2183-> 60 GB

I hope this might help you a little!

  • Elements of external hard drives automatically put in the trash

    Hello everyone.

Something strange has happened recently on my iMac (OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 version): I am a photographer and use several portable hard drives to back up my photos.  I hung 4 to my Mac while I'm typing this.  When they are attached and active, some of the articles on these portable drives are automatically put in the trash.  I'm very good on empty the trash and the last time I went empty, he said I had over 3 million items to remove.  I knew that something was wrong and through some trial and error, I figured out that if I ejected portable hard drives, the basket showed empty.

No idea why things of my portable hard drives are automatically put in the trash and if yes, how can I change this?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Tony

FWIW, there is no mechanism for a reader automatically put anything in the trash. Therefore related software. For example once a Mach time backup drive is full, it will remove older backups to make room for the new.

The discs in question are come with preinstalled software?

  • Satellite A300-GN1 - HARD drive load something every time

    Hello

When the pc loads up on top of the office, after about 1 minute HARD drive starts to load something 15-3-minutes (maybe check out or almost).

Also when I finished no matter what disk HARD game starts to load something.
Maybe someone knew how to fix it?
I thought that it is auto defrag problem, but it's not...

    Vista Edition sp1 family.

I guess there is nothing wrong with your laptop.
I think that it is a feature of Vista.
Vista always indexes the HARD drive to improve the desktop search.

If you do not use this feature, you can disable it.
Use the command Services.msc in the Start Run menu.
Scroll of double-click 'Windows Search' it and mark it as disabled

But personally, I would not recommend disabling because it would slow down the search.

  • Pavilion p6610f Desktop Hard Drive will not be reset to zero when you restart

HP Pavilion p6610f than Desktop PC Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit HDD (I think) could not restart. There was no indication of a problem before me by clicking on the button restart. I have this sometimes just to clarify things, looks like things work better. When it restarted, it went to a screen with 2 choices 'launch start repair or load normally. I chose startup repair. He loaded some files & drivers but finally comes to the screen 'blue '. I tried to start the computer with all the 'F' keys, none worked, always came back to the blue screen. Tried to start the recovery discs I did, same thing. I started with the ERD that I did it. Same thing. Would not not even go to Safe Mode. Nothing. But, there is no prior problems. Nothing made me think that I should do something to deal with a disaster. Then a "friend of a friend" came and replaced the hard 'for free' drive and installed windows 8 (which I hate) and now the computer makes a ticking noise and a sound plaintive, as when there is a bad DVD in the drive, it work so now slow, freezes, takes internet forever and made so much noise I think it's going to explode. I think I should replace the hard drive with the "right" and then use my recovery disks. He said that windows 8 was just too big of an OS for the hard drive, it took, that is why it is slow. But couldn't I erase or reformat the hard disk, and then use my recovery disks. As it is, I have no HP software on the computer more.  Is there a way to get the data from my old hard drive? I'm willing to take the time to learn how to do all this by myself if I knew that this is possible and if it is useful? [edited font color and characters]

    Hello Ty965,

I understand that you fell on some hard drive problems and a friend of a friend installed a former player for you and since he turned slowly and noisily. Personally, I recommend that you buy a new hard drive and then review and follow the instructions on the HP Support document: performing a recovery of HP (Windows 7) system, which will guide you through the recovery process and get your computer back operational.

If you don't have the recovery discs for your computer you can buy them for a cheap price of HP Media software and the drivercommand.

I hope that I have addressed the issue to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HP Recovery, causing hard drive problem

OK... Earlier I messed up my hard drive on my laptop. So I got the HP recovery discs, used... I thought that it fixed the problem... but now I look in the properties of my C: / drive & it says that my hard drive is only 25GB. Which is weird, because he used to say that he was of 250 GB. So now, he continues to tell me that I'm running out of space on my drive... Anyone has an idea as to why it is now only show my 25 GB hard drive instead of the real 250 GB is it? Can I completely format my hard drive and then use the recovery discs to fix? IM thinking that maybe that could be the problem... I don't know how to format, either... I have a HP Pavilion with Vista dv6653cl, any help is appreciated... because I was so excited I thought I fixed the drive then see this problem... knew it was too good to be true...

Can I get a new hard drive, & use the recovery on a new hard drive disk? Or that won't work?

I can't do a lot with just 25 GB of space. So, if I can't get the hard drive to its original 250 GB, then other what choice have I?

Finally, I have fixed everything. Thank you very much for your help!

  • W510: How do I access my data from a failed hard drive after the failure of the motherboard

I made a mistake and has paid for major .

This error pouring a drink sweet on my laptop. I know, I know, my keyboard can and protect against damage caused by the spill, but it was a drink together. In any case, I panicked and shut down the system and it has upset and removed the keyboard. And be the impatient person that I am, I made what was probably the ultimate error. I do not give everything save a sufficient amount of time to dry and I tried to boot the system. There is my computer. Or at least I think.

Symptoms: It began at the start, kept a beep, sometime just close and will start.

In any case, I guess that my laptop went kaput. Now to the point of this thread. I had not been a recent backup and can't remember when the last backup was actually made. Assuming that my hard drive is ok, I want to get all my data, so I saw several options:

-Send the system to a data recovery service where I will not pay less than $300, but probably 2 to 3 times what

-buy an equivalent model laptop and put the HARD drive in there

-by an external SATA hard drive enclosure and mount it via USB on another computer

I bought a box external and assembled this evening. I had read about the data access of difficulty with a system non-Lenovo because of encryption of the data. I proved that by linking it to my work (a Dell) laptop and I couldn't access my data directories. If I have access to an another Lenovo Thinkpad, I'll be able to access the data if connected via USB? I had read that I can access the contents of disc hard if it is connected to an another Thinkpad, but I knew not that if it means that I have it connected via SATA connection or if there is work through the USB port.

I'll appreciate any suggestions for accessing my data.

    Best regards!

    All,

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I was able to recover my computer and all data on it.

Just to describe what I have done, here are the details.

Because of my concern about a failure of the motherboard, I bought a used/given new keyboard and an external SATA drive enclosure. I was not able to properly take possession of the car from my other laptop, but I was able to access the data in Mode without failure. With my data, I plugged the hard drive and the new keyboard in and started without problem.

    Thanks again,

  • BIOS DOES NOT SEE ANY SATA HARD DRIVES

I recently (about three weeks) ago added a 250 GB Samsung SSD EVO 840 to my desktop HP Pavilion a6437C PC 2008.

This SSD has been configured with a clean install of Windows XP.

The original 500 GB HARD drive (on which I kept the original, fully functional installation of XP on one partition and all my data on another), was retained and was used primarily for the storage of data... even if I left the XP partition instead of use as a backup OS.

Once I have everything configured, up and running, both drives worked fine in their assigned duties for at least two weeks.

The PC is on when I left the House earlier today.  I came home and the power of the PC was turned off (I don't know if there was a power failure or other event).  When I turned on the rear PC, I got the dreaded "Disk Boot Failure" message.  Restarted, press F10 to view the BIOS, and I noticed that only two CD/DVD drives have been detected.  Ni the SSD or HARD drive have been detected.  A ran Diagnostics PC - Doctor F9 and got BIOHD-2 (no drive detected)... what I already knew.

I've been Googling vigorously, and my guess is that, since the TWO discs are not recognized, and the problem that manifests all of a sudden, the problem lies with the SATA controller or motherboard itself.  I think that it's extremely likely that both discs would fail completely and at the same time. Can anyone suggest what I could take so I can verify or disprove this?  Also, it's an old PC so it prob'ly is not worth starting to replace the mobo... is possible to replace just the SATA controller (assuming that it is the culprit)?

Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and get a new job.  I discovered that I can't use many of the features of my new SSD fancy, because the material a6437c and firmware doesn't support them.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well.  Thanks in advance!

    Laiki, welcome to the forum.

You did a very nice job of explaining your situation; nothing left out.

Because the computer is older, I go to this from a different angle.  I recommend that you check the power supply (PSU) to see if it has failed, because the computer turns off for no apparent reason.  If there is no power to the system, you will not get a boot.  The power supply can cause many problems we don't necessarily attach to it.  Here's a guide to help you troubleshoot it.

  • transfer data from a dead hard drive on a laptop

I have a laptop death containing a hard drive of y hdd2183 which seems to be a non-standard connector.  It is not IDE or SATA.  The player has a FEMALE instead of male pins or blades.  The CONNECTOR that attaches the disk has male blade fits into taking the hard drive.  I can't find anything on the internet about such a configuration, and I need to get data on this disc, but no way I can find to make it an external drive.  I COULD take the connector on the laptop and MAKE a cable or convert to SATA or IDE, IF I knew where the contact was supposed to go to which pin on the connector.

Anyone know anything on this subject?  None of the standard boxes or conversion devices mount this drive.

    Hello

I think that the non-standard connector, you describe can be removed.

Remove the disk from its metal case as shown in the image below.

Once this is done, you will find the connector can be removed from the HARD disk by dragging as shown in the diagram below (it may take some gentle persuasion ).

    Kind regards

  • The maximum size of hard drive that can be used in an a6400f

I am installing a 2 TB hard drive in a computer a6400f, he said during the installation of Windows 7 windows cannot install with this hardware of computers.  The hard drive is recognized in the Bios.  I had an old 500 gig and windows installed without any problems.

I don't know how or when it has changed, but the problem was that, in the BIOS, the interface has been set to Raid and IDE not.  Why someone knew about it?

  • Try adding the second hard drive

    Hello

I bought a 500-154th Pavilion in December to replace my aging system Vista. This Vista machine, finally, died yesterday, so I want to bring out the old WD 320 disc (disc SATA Cavier, manufactured in 2007) and put it in the new HP to recover some files. I have attached SATA and power cables and lit. Machine worked OK, but haven't seen the old drive in Windows 8.

I booted up the BIOS and it was perfectly listed, model number, everything, so I knew that the connections were OK. I checked the SATA ports in respect of the security of the devices and they are all enabled. If I go to Control Panel/Device Manager, it is not listed. If I check computer/manage the Virtual Drive Manager does not display it. The 320 GB which is held from the Vista operating system, but I don't see that it made a difference that I'm not the start of it. I assumed it would seem and what, if anything, I have to assign a drive letter.

I am a bit puzzled and open to all ideas.

    Hello stoke_ferry,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that your old Vista computer ultimately failed and you put your desktop HP Pavilion 500-154th PC hard drive to retrieve files and it does not work. Have you thought this might be the item failed in your Vista computer? If you did all the appropriate measures to add a second hard drive and it sounds as if you have and it appears not it could be the faulty and you will not be able to recover the information easily. There are companies that can recover your data, but the cost will be very high.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
