Hard drive HP pavilion 2132tx g6 problems

Hi, I have a hp laptop pavilion g6 series. Recently, I received a few BSOD kernel data inpage error management and memory. Now, I used seatools to check my laptop and the short dst failed. I searched on google and most of the people said that I need to replace the hard drive. the thing is, sometimes the laptop works perfectly without error. Do I still need to replace the hard drive or should I try to do a system restore and restore it to the factory conditions and see if it works? A quick response would be appreciated. Thank you.

Unfortunately, when a hard drive reports a failure, it is almost imminent failure.  DST stands for test of disc surface.

Back up your data on an external drive, while you still can.

  • Can you put a 500 g SATA hard drive in Pavilion a750w?

Can you put a 500 g SATA hard drive in Pavilion a750w?  The bios is version v3.26, and the operating system is XP with SP3.  40 gig HD is full and you are looking to replace it but do not know what the size limit is with this bios version.

Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion a705w desktop. This is based on the assumption that you converted the 5 and 0 and the fact that you mentioned a 40 GB hard drive.

You already have the most current version of the BIOS of your computer and running the most recent service pack of Windows XP. Your computer and the operating system should support a drive of 500 GB without problem. The only problem is that your computer isn't any SATA ports, only 66/100 IDE (PATA). Look at local retailers and online for the IDE drives.

    Hello

You need two cables, one is a sata cable:

    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/30305659/706331346/STARTech-com-6in-SATA-to-right-angle-SATA-serial-ATA-cable-female-SATA-female-SATA-6-inch-red/ListingDetails.html?_%24JA=TSID:13315% 7Ccat: 30305659% 7Cprd: 30305659 & kw = {keyword}

This cable is only for data and connect the hard drive to the SATA connector on the motherboard.

    The other cable is energy:

    http://www.itpartsdirect.com/STARTech-15-24cm-4-pin-Molex-to-SATA-power-cable-adaptor.html

It connects the hard drive to the PSU.

You can also buy a combo like this cable:

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/DP/B00064GBT4/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=9550951989&ref=asc_df_B00064GBT4

All you have to do is to connect the hard drive and that's it. Make sure that the main drive with the operating system is connected to the primary SATA connector (I think there are the numbers 1, 2, 3...)

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

You said that you have restored your PC using a DVD, but HP recover media consists of a SET of DVD, not a single DVD - so I have to assume that it was NOT a support of HP recovery.

Ordinarily, I advise to use HP recovery media to restore your PC to its original state. That would erase the entire disk, format the drive and install the operating system, drivers and utilities HP.

Unfortunately, there is no support of HP recovery related to HP for your PC Product Page. This could be an oversight by HP, or it could also mean that HP stock is no longer the recovery media for your PC. They store any long recovery media for older PCs.

You can try to contact the HP customer directly, using the links below, to see if you can order them if:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

If HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

  • removal of the hard drive HP Pavilion s3360

My HP Pavilion s3360 crashed 2 days ago, but because I had to buy a new pc anyway, I don't really mind. But I want to try to delete data on my drive hard (if he has not 'dead'...), so I tried to remove it, but the dvd drive is in the way (even I see not the HARD drive). I tried to remove the dvd drive, but that seemed to be stuck... I don't know much about computers, so I'd like some advice on how to remove the dvd drive (and after the HARD disk) on this particular type of pc.

  • replacing hard drive HP pavilion dv7 needed mine failed and need a new.

I have a pavilion dv7 4077cl Entertainment hard drive is faulty and all diagnoses say replace it.

You can adapt any 2.5 "SATA HDD, just remove the old one from the caddy (if any) and, quite simply, a new. If you want news, then visit Amazon Toshiba 640 GB HDD because they have a list. I'm sure you could find a better and probably cheaper alternative if you google 2.5 "SATA hard drive. I adapted one of them in my HP and it's great: Seagate Momentus 750 GB I did have a problem because I did it.

  • Size of the hard drive HP Pavilion g6 - 2263sr

    Hi all!

This week I bought a laptop HP Pavilion g6 - 2263sr with Windows 8 is installed.

I am completely satisfied with it except for one thing.

Her hard drive was designed in such a way that now it is divided into two discs (see the screenshot below). The C drive is disproportionate to the d drive. The problem is I want to reorganize their abilities (for example I want to drive C: be drive D: 115 GB and 180 GB). So my question is: is a user authorized to make these changes or this setting cannot be changed without resetting the BIOS and its setting of futher?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello

Please don't touch to D:, it's your last resource to get your machine. You can create another drive say F: C: cut in two. Please read the following article:

    Hi ccm

In my opinion, the HARD drive should run pretty quiet. You can still hear sounds, but they should not be strong. If the unit is a new brand, you must contact the partner in your country, and they can check if there are a few HARD drive malfunction. If it is necessary to change something, the warranty will cover all costs.

    Hi stan

Sorry, but you should be smart enough to know that this kind of information is not for advertising. On this way, each stolen unit can be started. The best solution is to contact the Service partner and they can remove the password.

    Good bye

  • Request help second addition, internal hard drive [HP Pavilion Elite e9290f]

    Hello

Quick question here. I am a music producer and you can always use a ton of extra space as some of my projects are 17 to 20 GB in size. My HP e9290f comes with a stock of 1 TB Seagate (I think) internal hard drive. I intend to add this DeckStar HGST hard 4 TB (7200 RPM)

However, I am not sure, if this drive is compatible with my computer. I talked about the upgrade & maintenance manual but inside, he tells me only how to replace the current internal hard drive. The addition of this amount of space external hard drive is not an option since all my ports are used by external hard drive! Can anyone shed light on what tools I need exactly to connect this HD extra 4TB? I would appreciate your answers, because time is of the essence

    HP Pavilion Elite e9290f | Intel Core i7 920 2.67 GHz | Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit Edition. 20 GB OF DDR3 SDRAM MEMORY | 1 TB of HDD at 7200 RPM. Hello

I have not tested a HDD 4 TB on the motherboard of truckee. In theory, it should work as a data reader set shaped like a GPT disk.

Another option if you don't want to take the risk is to install two hard drives of 2 TB. The one in the location empty in the cage from the hard drive and another in the optical drive Bay (if open) second.  You will need one 3.5 "to 5.25" adapter if you use the optical Bay.

Check on the return policy for the 4 TB harddrive and see if your can return/exchange it if it doesn't work.  Kit retail for Hitachi 4TB has an optional driver if the motherboard of your PC will not format the drive completely outside up to 4 TB.

  • Maching time keeps failing - bought new hard drive and still the same problem

I'm on a mac 27 inches, El Captain 10.11.2 upgrade

Not had a problem for years and then suddenly about a month or two before, he started to do all the time. Got a mybook 2 TB for mac for Christmas - same problem. Works perfectly for hours/days at a time, and then fails again. Don't know what to do!

I know it sounds weird, but I would like to start by making sure that your Mac hard drive is correct. Demarrer start on the recovery environment, run disk utility and perform first aid on your hard drive. You can also perform a boot secured, which does essentially the same thing.

I also saw problems with USB devices that appear only on a specific USB port. Try changing ports.

The external drive is new does not mean that it is not defective. Perform first aid on the external hard drive and reformat. Better still, try another drive altogether to eliminate the drive as the source of the problem.

  • Replacing hard drive HP Pavilion g4-1015dx

I recently acquired a HP Pavilion 1015dx g4 with a failing hard drive.

I was wondering if this computer supports SATA III drives specifically the

Western Digital laptop bare drives 500 GB WD Blue SATA III 5400 RPM 8 MB Cache Bulk/OEM hard drive WD5000LPVX

    Thank you!

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 51 for hard drive access. Note the connector that connects the bare hard drive to the motherboard. You will need to reuse the parts caddy/connector/mylar shield from the old drive.

Your laptop SATA ports are SATA II. In most cases, if it doesn't have USB 3.0, it also doesn't have SATA III. Your don't have any USB 3.0. However, SATA-III hard disks 2.5 inches wide and 7 or 9.5 mm thick will work fine. SATA III interface is backward compatible with SATA-II.  I guess that you have chosen the WD Blue 5400 RPM drive due to their low cost, but it would be well worth an extra 10 or $15 to have a disk of 7200 RPM like the WD Black or this one:
