• T40 transfer hard drive for T43

  A few years ago I had a T40 and bought a new hard drive a Hitachi HTS721010G9AT00 100 GB at 7200 RPM.  My card mother T40 is dead, so I looked for a replacement cheap T43 found and bought.  Then I started to read about error 2100 reports with other hard disk error problems.  I have not received my T43 again, this drive would be a problem with the T43?  I thought that this would work because it is Hitachi and they took things hard drive IBM... Thank you!

  I thought about it!  I found an old iso copy of the firmware of the drive on another site and then the instuctions on this Web site and it works perfectly now!  I called lenovo support, but it was no use, they say, they have no access to the old firmware hard drive .   They seemed to have no idea how to fix this.  If the information is correct, I found, the more difficult part tried to trackdown a rather old copy that would work with the instructions that were committed last year.

  I have a T43 I want to upgrade the HDD on.  Currently, I have the original 80 GB hard drive, but I would like to know if I could upgrade to a 320 GB hard drive.  I am interested in the ability, the speed does not necessarily.  My system supports a hard drive of this size?

  I don't know what kind of information is required in order to call this judgment, but here are some of the specs of my computer:

  1 GB memory

  With the latest version of the BIOS, you will be informed of the error, but the machine will start normally beyond this point.

  There are two types of adapters ultrabay, one for PATA and one for SATA drives. No restrictions on what you can install in them, as long as the drive type is.

• Problem with connector hard drive to spring on T43 motherboard

  My T43 (type 1875) cannot operator unless I am pressing on toward the down on the palm rest above the spring certainly drive connector.  This connector seems to be designed to move upwards & downwards on two positions.  44 pin hard drive seem to connect indirectly to the motherboard via 44 springs in this assembly.  This Assembly should be compressed manually for the system to communicate with the hard drive.

  I do not understand the physical design of this connection?  I certainly do not understand the purpose of this complicated mechanism.  It is part of the protection of the hard drive?

  To correct the problem, I see two possible solutions;  either compress the springs, then bend the stems of alignment to maintain the State of compression, which makes electrical connections or replace the motherboard.

  If someone put me on how I could fix this?

  This is common with the T4x problems and those who have not been carefully reassembled since the Council can become cracked over time especially when door one-handed from a corner as a person would natrually.

  Even models 15 inches and their solid upper bezel can experiencine this issue, but the models 14 inches and the palm rest of split and are the most sensitive.

  The system works when you press the right ALT just below and to the right of the trackpad?

  If you took the palm rest off the power, then press the plug of the battery, it restores the operating system?

  If so, you may be lucky that the Council itself cannot be cracked but it could be the connectors of taking battery BIOS on the Board and in this regard a $3 repair. Cut the connector and replace with a new one or cut and reweld to ensure that the circuit is solid.

  If it is cracked, you can hold with some high quality neoprene since used neoprene "shrink as styrofoam when exposed to heat and pressure. Shim planks will run, but the added stress of ttignehtning it back together can create other pauses as you are bowing the bridge so that the stress has to go somewhere.

  In addition, the system will work better if it remains stationery for a portable shim will pass when the goods are shipped under nomral conditons.

  Finally, the entire system will be brick and you can save or part the rest of it.

  I tried check disk utility. I have all the updates that are installed. I use AVG Anti-virus. The first time it happened was after the upgrade from my hard drive. Help! I'm pulling out my hair!

• upgrade the hard drive on T43p

  I have a Thinkpad T43P 2687 DSO with a 80 GB hard drive.  I would like to upgrade to 160 GB or 250 GB.  I bought a couple of would have been compatible hard drives and led them to my pc repair guy and he said it had firmware problems that make them incompatible.  I will appreciate any suggestion on which HDDs can be compatible out of the box.

• When I deleted a picture of my MacBook, why it also remove the external hard drive?

After installing the SSD, you need to partition and format the SSD using disc utility disc. Then install OS X on the SSD. Once installed OSX boot from SSD. Startup disk preferences to set up the SSD as the boot volume. Open the preferences users and groups. Click the lock and authenticate you. Or CTRL - RIGHT click on your username account list in the sidebar and select Advanced Options in the context menu. You will see a field called "Home dir: ' on the far right, you will see an Edit button. Click on it. In the file dialog box, navigate to the location in house now located on the HARD disk (disk HARD/users/user_name /.) Select the folder, click the Open button. Restart the computer, as shown. When the computer starts, it will now use the home located on the HARD drive folder. Another more technical method involving the Terminal and the alias is discussed in depth here: using OS X with a SSD and HDD - Matt Gemmell configuration. It's my preferred approach because I can choose which records of the House, I want to on the HARD drive and I don't want to. For example, I like to keep Documents and library files on the SSD because I frequently access their content.   Had a similar problem with external hard drive WD also on model MBA early 2015. Found if I disconnect the external hard drive restart MBA and then reconnect the external hard drive it was working normally again.

  Another thing I tried was still unplug HD plugin MBA on sector and re - a SMC.

  I have a Mac Mini 2011 with two 500 GB hard drives.  I have apps and General things about hard drive #1 and #2 only has pictures and videos.  Will be Time Machine backs up both drives to my external hard drive as one or two separate back ups?  I see files of backup HD #1, but not sure if the HD #2 files are also there.  I can't find an answer in the support documents.  Ideas?

  Time Machine backup to a sparsebundle.

  The sparsebundle will use the share name of computer. So, it should be obvious who is your Macbook and that is your Macpro.

  Open the sparsebundle in Finder and keep open the subfolders until you get to the backup of each separate hard drive...
