HARD TO FIND LIGHTROOM

Screenshot (1).pngThe first time I had registered on LightRoom, all went well.  The second time that I signed, he brought me a different LightRoom.  I use the trial version free, really enjoyed it the first time I used LightRoom and am considering the purchase of...  How to get back in LightRoom?  The LightRoom class I'm in allows me to import photos and change, but is not one that I was first used...  The "library, develop, etc" options are no longer available...

Apparently, you used the desktop version of Lightroom to share a collection. What show you in your capture screen is Lightroom.Adobe.com, which is the web application. The Lightroom desktop application is not running in a web browser. It's a desktop application, and there should be an icon on your desktop that you can use to launch.

I currently store my pictures on and an external hard drive.  Lightroom 6 was not able to find the picture momentarily files.  I inserted an external Flash DRIVE after removing the hard drive and the computer renamed the stick with the same drive letter that has been designated by Lightroom to store my photos.  I could go into my Windows 10 and reset the player to the letter that Lightroom has given at the beginning of the external hard drive.   However, I know this can happen again, if I connect any stick USD or another device, while the external hard drive is not connected to my laptop.   I found the information that I can do the new designation of the final drive by choosing a letter it is 1/2 way or higher in the alphabet.   I would like to turn an external hard drive on a strong letter, warns we hope this previous problem.   My question is, if I already have a lot of pictures on this external hardrive with the designation of the current drive, how it becomes a higher letter and have 6 Lightroom recognizes files, now under the new designation of drive letter without having to go to each photo individually and manually force Lightroom 6 find each photo.  It would take more time than I'd like to lose.  Is there a way to get just 6 Lightroom to recognize the new disk designation has changed and is able to find all of the existing files?

I have read the ADOBE LightRoom 6 manual and seem not to be able to find anything on how to do it.

    Any help would be welcome.

    Thank you!

So in Windows, you can select a drive like q letter (or any other letter you want only towards the end of the alphabet)

Then in Lightroom, you can reconnect to the photos on q: the following instructions (see specifically 4 Figure and related text)

Yes. Find LR catalog file in Edit/settings/general catalogue. Close LR and go to this place. The catalog file is one that ends by .lrcat - move it where you want. Beside the .lrcat file is a subfolder called Previews.lrdata. You can move, but if you don't not LR will generate new insights. Double-click the .lrcat file in her new home and LR will open with this catalogue. Set preferences in more recent catalogue.

I had a problem with Lightroom on Microsoft Surface 3.  I added a 128 gB microSD card to provide the space for my photos, (a second hard drive) but lightroom won't let me not import all the pictures that are already on the map.  The only import option is 'copy', not 'Add '.  I worked around this by mounting a network directory containing photos and imported from there.  Is it possible to stop Lightroom to see such a map as a camera?

I have not tested, but it should work with Lightroom:

    http://stltechtalk.com/ultimate-Ms-surface-hack-fully-utilize-micro-SD-card/#.

Not sure what happens if you remove the card and put in a similar SD card. I would like to test it so that you know what to expect.

  • Unable to export or import photos on an external hard drive in lightroom 5

I'm not able to import or export photos in my external hard drive in lightroom, I've been able to do previously without any problem, but something has changed recently, after I deleted all my pictures from my memory card. When exporting, I am able to select the drive, but it shows some "DiskImageMounter" and I'm not able to select any folder on my hard drive to export the files. • I imported my photos from an external hard drive in Lightroom, edited my photos but then...? !

    Adobe,

I imported my photos from an external hard drive in Lightroom, edited my photos and when I decided to export the originals had not been updated and deleted photos were not deleted. How I set up so that once I have import photos, edit and export they are then placed in their original case reviewed and updated?

I managed to export photos to another file, but they were exported with an Adobe.xmp file. What is it and is it necessary?

    Thanks for your help!

OK then so when you export edited LR images to tell the Office I do not need to use xmp files unless I want then to re - edit still say in Photoshop or another app?

You don't need the files xmp during the passage of LR to Photoshop. Right click on the image or in the develop module, click Photo > edit in... According to what you have set in the preferences of the image then opens like FFT, JPEG or PSD - 8 bit / 16 bit - and the new TIFF file for example automatically will return to sitting next to the original RAW LR library. If you are exporting a RAW file edited to the desktop to JPG/TIFF then changes will be permanently stamped in the EXIF of the created files.

Basically import my Raw files on the drive from Carmera card, then in LR. Edit in LR, finishing and export again say in the office. Keep or throw originals that I please...

Yes, but why would you throw your originals? You can later return to the original and the re - change all over again new experiences learned etc..

Can I see the modified pictures made in Photoshop in LR later?

Yes, see first paragraph above. If you already have a file in LR, take it in Photoshop as a JPG/TIFF/PSD, it will be automatically reduced in LR. If you modify a file outside the LR and that is not already in the LR library, say by locating the RAW file in Explorer and then open it directly in ACR/Photoshop, then LR will have no idea what you did except in LR, you choose to import the image later. Remember though, this is one of the examples where you will need to configure save metadata in xmp (at bridge) so that when you import the edited outside the file RAW LR, LR will read the xmp file changes and save it in its own database.

  • Why Adobe why? [Find is hard to learn Lightroom]

I made the most terrible mistake never buying Lightroom! I went to Best Buy to get my new Macbook so I can finally do the projects that I need for work, and that included Photoshop... Of course, employees of Best Buy do it best, Best Buy employees convinced me to buy Lightroom because it is "recommended for Macs. Without realizing that he would have the ability to do half the things I do, and the other half is so complex that I still need to understand and convoluted! I constantly looking for how to do the simplest of tasks and then sometimes will find read me 'how to' for photoshop because guess what? AMBIENT LIGHT DOES NOT DO! Why? Why? OMG I can't believe I spent so much money on this program, and I wish that I had just ignored this stupid kid and got the program I know and I hope. Adobe, how can you make me like this? If you had an email contact, I would contact you there. Unfortunately, you're not open right now otherwise I would quote to complain. And perhaps my day off, I will. Ugh... So angry... It sucks.

I'll also note that Adobe does not supervise Best Buy or any other store employees. They are not at issue here.

You can the $10 monthly Lightroom and Photoshop | Plan of creative photography of cloud to Adobe to have that a comprehensive tools Jim speaks.

  • need help syncing replacement of the external hard drive for Lightroom

    Hello Lightroom community.

I've exhausted my research and am now seeking help. Please direct me to this information in the forum if it exists. Also, I am a novice and while I am learning lightroom quickly with all my time spent in forums and online videos, I am limited in my understanding of how it all works.

Problem: I store my Lightroom Catalog and backups on my portable MacBook Pro. I use two external hard drives to store all my images and store my time machine backups. My external hard drive (1-hand) and my external hard drive (2-Back-up) were also well synchronized with the catalog and recognized by lightroom when I edited the pictures. I mainly used the DHM 1-hand when I edited, especially when I went. Last month, my main 1 - EHD died and was unrecoverable. I got lucky that my backup drive (DHM 2-back-up) has always had the images and changes.

In order to quickly save my 'JEP 2-back-up"to a new 'Hand' work external hard drive replacement, I dragged and dropped the backup disk images to the new"Main"drive so that I can sleep at night. This gave me the peace of mind that all of my images and backups time machine were now on two disks again. (Note: the new ' hand ' disk has a different name. ") Is this important?)

How can I get Lightroom to recognize and sync with my new drive and photos? Is there a simple way to do this or do I have to restart the process from the beginning? If so, where should I start? I'm afraid to attempt without some advice/suggestions from the experts.

Thank you for any information, you can pass it along! Please let me know what I can provide additional information.

Side note: when I looked to import the images of the new 'Hand' DHM - although this would make duplicates-Lightroom recognized that there are duplicates. So, where is the missing link?

If you can rename the new primary drive to match exactly the name of the previous main drive, that should correct the problem.

If this is not the case, then you want to open your Lightroom Catalog and then reconnect the top-level folder that contains your pictures by right-clicking on this top-level folder and then to find Missing folder pointing Lightroom on the equivalent top level on your new drive main folder. The details are described here (see Figure 4): Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

Side note: re-import never corrects this problem, it only makes it worse. Never use to reimport into solution in Lightroom.
