How can I reinstall Windows 7 Professional Upgrade after washing my hard drive? The erased all scrub.

I have the disk to start Windows 7 installation disks, repair disk. and the product key.

I failed to realize until at the end I got the upgrade instead of the version full of Windows 7 Professional.

The PC had originally installed Vista and I also is the product key.

Hello

Reinstall Vista > then make the Windows 7 upgrade.

You fail to tell us which version of Vista you have had.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

This can help you (download files and make your own DVDs):

http://www.heidoc.NET/Joomla/technology-science/Microsoft/57-Windows-Vista-direct-download-links

And here are instructions on how to burn ISO disk images:

http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/isorecorder.html

The download links and information on how to make the ISO file, and then create the Setup DVD above are at this link:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

___________________________________

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

See you soon.

    I can defragment recovery D section (or any other for that matter) on windows 7 & 8?  on both computers, there is little or no space left. Whether or not, can I also backup my computers on cloud or Sky drive.  I had 3 external hard drives up to Sandy hit.  I don't have that 1 I know works for sure, but it is full that I find it hard to believe that she has 1 TB of storage, which brings me to my next question how to go on display all stored on it & what I can safely remove (I usually find later I needed) & Finally on 2 other external drives , I'm not sure that they were damaged by the floods (but believe it or not I'm still clean, even pretty sure I lost the power cords for).  Also all of my SD cards & jump readers have been affected by the flooding, is there a way to clean the connections to try and recover the data I had on them?  Many had photo & videos that have been completely lost in their printed report, recovering tem are extremely important as well as try to get the info of invoices etc. that were on these discs.

    Hi Lisa,

    As you mentioned that you have very less space on your computer I suggest you to transfer or move the files or data on an external drive.

    Copy or move files and folders

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows-8/copy-move-files

    You can use Disk Cleanup to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your drives, which can help your PC run faster. It can remove temporary files and system files, empty the trash and remove a variety of other items that you might need is no longer.

    Delete files using disk cleanup

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup#delete-files-using-disk-cleanup=Windows-8

    Note: to avoid any data loss, we strongly recommend to back up your files and settings on a disk external before resetting, refreshing, upgrade, or reinstallation of Windows or deleting files.

    Apart from that you can also delete temporary files from your computer. Follow the steps below.

    1. Press the Windows key + Q key.
    2. In the search box present in the upper corner of the side right, type %temp% .
    3. Click on the result of the search, select all files and delete it.

    For the device which you say who has been affected by the floods, I suggest for to connect you to your computer and check if you are able to view these files.

    I hope this helps. Please write us if you have problems with Windows.

  • HP 2000: Hardrive

    Hi I have a few years hp 2000 about a week ago, he started to go to a black screen with a cursor and non-stop loading screen. While playing with it, I reinstalled the hardrive and was finally able to go into f2. F11 and other things do not work. I did start hardrive tests and smart check happened, but the short hard drive had a faliure id of: 94qk3t-6ng85T-mfgjxg-60tn03. Product ID: D1E89UA #ABA. Sometimes he does skip it sound, should have windows 8 or 10 on it. What would be the best course of action, if I want a cheap solution. I have no back up, but not really a lot of information out there, I've supported on and just operational need. I heard that you can make the recovery discs when you insert a new hardrive and install windows on this free way to usb port. I guess what I mean is I can fix it the disc of 2-3 years now or should I get a new one and if have to get nine I can use the free usb to make it work again. Thanks to Advancace

    Hello

    Error code 24 characters confirms a short drive Self Test failure and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

    Your computer is listed as coming with a 500 GB hard drive, but you can also easily install a 750 GB HARD drive if you want a little more space - readers at the following links are examples that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

    750 GB hard drive.

    The procedure to replace the hard drive starts on Page 54 of your & Maintenance Guide.

    Regarding the reinstallation of the operating system on the new drive, there are a few options in function if the laptop had never been updated Windows 10 or not.

    1. the machine originally shipped with 64-bit Windows 8 - recovery media for this still may be available at HP, otherwise, it is also always supplied by the 3rd dealer part on the link below.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-23436-Windows-8-64-bit-recovery-kit-708898-001-for-HP-notebook-PC-model-number-2000-2b44dx.aspx

    2 if the machine has been (or was) a hardware profile of this upgrade to Windows 10, is retained by the activation servers. As long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after the upgrade of the 8, you just create your own installation of Windows 10 media and perform a new installation as described in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I have not a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • Best way to clean a computer to give to a family member.

    I want to restore my computer Windows XP Dell to its factory settings in order to give to my parents. I'm not not as much concerned about safety with my old files that I'm computer being simplified and works well, because there was a lot of modules downloaded over the years and it works more smoothly. What is the best way to get rid of all the waste accumulated on my hardrive over the years? I'm still all disks that Dell has provided at time of purchase. I'm not sure if it's better to try to try to clean it, or start from scratch.

    Windows XP Service Pack 3

    Dell Dimension

    Thank you all for your advice. For the record, my size is a 2400, and I have the original full version of XP with Service Pack 1a.

    After trying to solve this problem with my knowledge limited and before all your very helpful responses, I decided to go on the road to uninstall as much as possible use Revo Uninstaller. Given that I've initially was looking for a method of time-saving security since I gave the computer a member of the family, to the point where I investigate buying a new CD player internal and all other solutions, it began to look like an option far less time. If my family member decides that always, he would like to make a fresh start but, we look at the above.

    Thank you very much for your detailed responses. I much appreciate and will refer to them if needed in the future. I'm sorry I'm not able to try them, but I was on a time crunch to get the old computer in working condition for the Member of my family and cost/time of what solutions were looking like became problematic.

    Thanks again!

  • How do I format hardrive on dell

    I thank my hardrive has virus

    The best approach for virus-infected PCs is a 'Clean Install' you can never be 100% certain that every last bit of the infections have been deleted.

    That said, if you have time and want to see how you can go in eliminating the virus.
    malware and bots then read on.

    Start by downloading the free version of Malwarebytes, it will detect and remove most of the viruses.
    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/

    There are also Norton Power Eraser
    http://security.Symantec.com/nbrt/NPE.asp?lcid=1033
    Note: Because the Norton Power Eraser uses aggressive methods to detect these threats,
    There is a risk that it can select some legitimate programs for removal.
    You should use this tool very carefully, and only after you have exhausted other options.

    For me on a PC friends who had more than 60 infections and there is no CD of restoration and the key code has been lost, the above "Malware Bytes", "AVG Free" software and Norton NIS 2010 has been around.

    NIS 2011 trial software:
    http://www.Symantec.com/Norton/downloads/index.jsp

    (Note: the trial download Norton NIS requires a credit card, read the terms 'Opt Out' before you start)
    In addition, a second pass using Malware Bytes and NIS seems to have removed all infections.

  • Vista reinstall after replacing hardrive

    2 years ago bought a Dell computer. My hardrive needs replaced according to my tech. The problem is that I have no backup discs sent with the computer. Dell wants to charge $ 80 to talk to me. Microsoft wants to pay 49.00. Are there solutions?

    Dell provides support for your computer, NOT from Microsoft.

    How to get Vista recovery Media.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/DellCare/contact_us?c=us&l=en&s=Gen&redirect=1

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • Sierra / Mac Adware Cleaner
    Since I've upgraded to the new OSX on my iMac, what an advertising program keeps popping up whenever I log on my computer. I tried to remove it, but it always comes back.
    It is very inconvenient for my mac was going well until I upgraded. What is c? And once I left the application a pop-up ad appears in the right corner.
    How can I get rid of these?
    That Mac has been affected by "CleanMyMac" that must be removed. Remove it, then follow the applicable recovery procedure below.
    'Cleaning' apps are scams. Extract of effective defenses against software malware and other threats:
    • Never install a product that claims to 'clean up', 'speed', 'optimize', 'boost' or 'speed up' your Mac; to "wash", "tune" or to make it "brilliant". These allegations are absurd.
      • These products are marketed very aggressively. They are all scams.
      • They usually operate on the erroneous premise that Mac builds 'junk' that must be systematically 'cleaned' for optimum performance.
      • Trial versions of these programs are successful because they provide more instant gratification of free space on the disk.
      • This increased space is the result of irreversible destruction of files, programs or operating system components normally protected against accidental tampering or removal. The eventual result will be the reliable operation, poor performance and random crashes that may not become evident for months, or even years after their use, when updates of programs or OS X are finally released.
      • Memory "cleaners" that bypass the work of OS x memory management algorithms by purging the memory contents inactive for mass storage, which can only result in performance degradation and accelerated the hardware failure.
    To remove 3 CleanMyMac itself, use its Uninstall module, followed the following additional steps:
    • Delete the file ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac3.Scheduler.plist
      • To access this file, copy and Paste the following line in the menu to go to Finder > go to folder...
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/
      • Locate the following file and drag it to the Trash:
    com.macpaw.CleanMyMac3.Scheduler.plist
    • Then, open  (menu Apple) > System Preferences > users and groups > login items.
    • Select the item of Menu of CleanMyMac3
    • Click on the [-] (button less).
    • Restart your Mac.
    Beware that reinstall OS X has no effect on deletion CleanMyMac or reverse the damage, it is able to inflict on a system. To recover from the effects of using it to change the OS X software, you need and essential files you need, follow the applicable recovery procedure below:
    • If you have a backup that you created before using CleanMyMac, now is the time to use it. To boot OS X RecoveryTime Machine in Mac OS X utility screen, select restore from a Time Machine backup. Choose a date prior to the installation of CleanMyMac.
    • If you don't have a backup previous use of CleanMyMac, create one now. To do this read to use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.
      • The recovery procedure require that you erase the Mac using OS X Recovery, and then create a new user account whose content will be empty. You can then use Setup Assistant to migrate your essential documents, including photos, music, products of work and other essential files.
      • To erase and install OS X read How to reinstall OS X on your Mac.
        • Follow step 2 to completely erase the internal memory of the CMA: disk utility (El Capitan): delete a volume.
        • Then follow the procedure to move your content to a new Mac.
        • When asked how you want to transfer your data, select transfer from a Mac, Time Machine backup or boot disk.
        • Under Select the information to transfer, select only your old user account and do not select 'Applications', 'Computer and Network Settings' or 'other files and folders. Deselect these choices.
      • After using Setup Assistant, you will need to reinstall the essential software that you might need, once more without forgetting to install the software from their original sources and by omitting all non-essential software.
      • "Non-essential software" is a broad category that includes, but is not limited to the products 'antivirus' third party 'cleaning' and 'maintenance '.
