  I'm currently running Vista 64 bit and you want to upgrade to Windows 7.

  I'm looking to do a clean install.
  My question is, if I buy a version upgrade of Windows 7 need me a Vista installation disc to allow it?
  My PC came pre loaded with Vista, so I don't have an installation disc.

  A copy of the full license of Windows 7 would be transferable to a computer without an operating system until it has been completely removed from the first.

  I highly recommend that you buy a copy of the full license since you think you might buy a personal computer.

  The upgrade copy would not be transferable to a new computer unless the new computer already had a copy of installed Windows on what qualifies for an upgrade to Windows 7.
