  • I can't google in search engine after the upgrade to 9

I just upgraded to version 9, and now search engine (the one top-right) does not at all. I used to have google as default and the other engines available on the menu drop down. If I manage search engines, I am taken to the Add-ons page with nothing like that the choice of research, I used to have. Is this a bug or this feature is no longer available? If Firefox supports more this feature, how to return to an earlier version without losing Favorites, settings, etc.? Win xp SP3 on the desktop.

I tried to open firefox with a new profile, and there was no change. In desperation, I copied the profile to the desktop, completely uninstalled and reinstalled firefox folder. Copied old favorites and cookies to the profile folder, then restore bookmarks of these files. It seems to work so far, at least the search bar is back and work and bookmarks are intact. I guess it was a bad installation of the origin of the problem. I still need to get a few things that still works, but not more time for that now. It has been a project all day.
    Thanks for the help.

  • How can I access the dialog "Manage search engines", after you remove the search bar?

I removed the esarch bar, since I can get exactly the same functionality through the url bar (also called awsome bar, I think). I use several search engines but select the default ones with key words.

The only thing I'm missing is the ability to access the dialog box "manage search engines". The only geto him he seems to be the drop search bar icon. Is it possible to access this dialogue without having to add (and re - hide the afterwords) the search bar?

You can create a bookmark with this chrome URL:

    • chrome://browser/content/search/engineManager.XUL
  • I have no toolbar of any kind, I have no search engine, I have no place to see or type in the Url

I have no toolbar of any kind, I have no search function, I don't have a place to see or type the URL. All I have is the firefox logo and the button to make the page bigger or smaller and a line of old URLs is that when I go to them - I can not navigate out of them and not only no button back and forth. I downloaded new updates - but did nothing.

    This has happened

  • Search engines have disappeared from the search bar/field 34.0.5

I updated to 34.0.5 a few days before and just noticed that I have more search engines in the field of research (although now all searches go to Yahoo).

If I open the "Edit Search Settings", it shows a lot of engines there, but when I click on OK, they still do not appear as options in the popdown Magnifier.

Very frustrated; It was exactly as I wanted before with a selected default engine and others available in the pop down.
    How to fix?

If you want to restore the window previously used independently to manage search engines, you can enable or disable this pref to false with a middle-click on the topic: config page.

    • topic: config page: browser.search.showOneOffButtons = false

Close and restart Firefox to force change.

  • How to prevent to arise after Google Identifiez_ google search you? I want to avoid that information additional poping up whatever the search engines.

Regardless of the search engine: after research adding information associated with the search engine appears below the toolbar. Example: For searches on Google, I get a Google sign in and a button with an additional search bar apps.

Hi ev2163, this is normal. This is the page of Google for Firefox. The results page is perhaps different chrome because of the intimate relationship of Google with himself.

There are a lot of things to change the appearance of web pages, and if you really want to remove this upper area from the results page, you can use several techniques:

    (1) Add on versatile such as remove it permanently, allowing you to select areas of pages to hide

    (2) custom style rule (this can be saved in a file named userContent.css or can be applied using the Stylish extension)

    (3) personalized userscript (a script that runs in the Greasemonkey extension to edit selected pages)

Maybe Google has an option somewhere to change? But I never saw one.

  • How to pass the bar of search engine in the old design, where I could spend the engine of research instead of having to click on the

Hello, unfortunately, I have updated to Firefox 50.0 without realizing a lot of my modules and apparently my search bar would be altered... The modules except for (what seems to be "they are not signed" that I hope will be fixed at some point by itself), the search bar, it's really what grinds my gears.

I think I've had this problem before and after weeks of trying, I could fix it, but for the life of me I don't know what to look for to fix, or what I did.

My problem is that I have several search engines, and I often STAY on a SEO and looking for several things. I used to be able to click on the button to default search engine (which is now a magnifying glass) and select the search engine, I want to use AND CONTINUE to USE it until I CHANGE IT to SOMETHING else.

The path before the update was so: click on the magnifying glass symbol / google-> select a search engine, for example Wikipedia-> enter something I want to search-> it shows results on wikipedia-> do not click on anything whatsoever, but rather just enter something into the search again-> it searches on wikipedia.

Now, it's this... Click the magnifying glass-> click on wikipedia-> enter something-> it searches on google-> realize you must click on the wikipedia button AFTER entering in the things-> click button wiki now-> it research wiki-> enter something new-> it goes to google. -> get really angry and slam your head against the table-> click the wikipedia-> realize I clicked the wrong language wiki, since I have 4 of them right next to each other-> hit enter once again-> it goes to google-> quit smoking.

So yes... is there a way the helm of research back to the old design, where there was a LIST of engines of research instead of buttons, and she kept the search engine locked up until you have selected something again.

  • Create an email sign up form that appears in a list of search engine > >

How would we go about creating a registration form email that appears in the list of links generated by a search engine after a search (as shown in the image below)? Has this been done before? I really like the lists that appear after the page of search results that allow the user to navigate through the different parts of a site from the search is there a way to implement a form that appears in one of these lists of registration E-mail?

    Picture 1.png

I'd like to see a blank text box somewhere to the right of the list of page that says "insert email here" with a sign to alert button to the right... for those who search my site can sing for email alerts quickly and easily from the results page search engine. I would like to sign up for updates by email from the list. just like they can navigate my page by clicking on login / account summary / contact us excrement, it may be easier to click on the register button, I have their information, their finished, everybody happy.

However you don't need a dedicated server. Shared is fine. Google is only reading the links in the code.

    John,

Can you give me an example of a site on the hosting that displays in columns under the www.domainName.comsite links?

Getting back to the original question of Scotty, Google will not collect and process electronic registrations for you.  It is not their business.  Then no.  You cannot add a form input field Google or any other SERPs.  At best, they can put a link to the page on YOUR SITE that contains the electronic registration form.

  • default search engine doesn't seem to work

My default search engine is set at Google.  But lately, all my research are made by Yahoo.  Can't understand why?

    Hey johnfromnorth andover!

I certainly want to have the search engine, that I show in Safari.  This should be a quick thing to check and sometimes happens when a pop up or download requests to change the default search engine in your browser.

With Safari open, click on Safari in the upper left corner next to the logo .  Choose Preferences from the Safari menu and search.  That should allow you to set Google to Yahoo! search engine  Who should get it switched to you and if not, try to check the Extensions or add-ons in Safari to ensure that Yahoo! is not on for either of them.

    See you soon!
