Have Vista but corrupted. Is it possible for me to install Windows 7 after I am reformatting my computer?

I thought that the monitor of my pc got broke out but when I tried to turn it on, it showed me the splash screen.  I came to realize that the monitor was never dismantled.  However, my laptop used to run Windows Vista, but now it's like trying to run Windows XP and it won't move to the screen.  Is it possible for me to install Windows 7 to upgrade my laptop because the operating system has already been corrupted?

Hello

Why do not just reinstall Vista?

It would be easier and less expensive than buying windows 7

You must have an operating system running and enabled for upgrade

  • Is it possible for me to install Local DVD retailer with the product key?

Original title: lost my product key.

    Hello everyone.

2 years ago, I bought a Podium with a PC attached from a local retailer. He gave me a Windows 7 Pro Sp1 32 - Bit DSP OEI DVD 611 and the Podium and Win 7 was already installed on it. I have not found any key on or in the DVD box. No sticker on the PC or the Podium. He charged me $ 175, I'm from India up to 10 200 /-rupees for the DVD. Now I have to install this DVD on the Podium, or at least on my laptop. Is it possible for me to install this DVD with the product key or what should I do?

    Thank you.

MS sells more than winxp or win7, you will only be able to buy peoples who have old stock or used, and it easily gives a copies pirated / illegal.

The keys are not sold on their own, but only with the installation media.

  • I want to buy a desktop computer and sell the laptop without windows vista software. Is there a way I can install windows vista in my new office.

Model F730 laptop and notebook product S/n CNF7415WH7

I bought a laptop (compaq F30 us in the United States) and windows original vista came with the compaq laptop (bought in US). Now, I want to buy a desktop computer and sell the laptop without windows vista software. Is there a way I can install windows vista in my new office. I don't have the cd or the software with me key since they have not provided for me at the time of purchase

    Hello

No there is no way, how the do, because the license of Windows Vista is part of the computer compaq laptop - this is the license OEM - and cannot be separated.

(in case the laptop is broken and cannot be repaired, then the license expiresand cannot be used on another computer)

  • Is it possible for MapleStory compatible with Windows Vista?

If necessary, it lists a lot of details and my only difference with it, is that I have Windows Vista. Does th to much difference?

I have not had, never tried, but a quick google reveals:

MS Vista claims to be unknown - MapleStory on Vista

W7 MS claims it does - MapleStory on W7 (so if it turns on W7, I would say there's a good chance he's going on Vista)

But it claims that it can and does and shows how.

As I say, I have not tried so can't say for sure, but hope it helps.

  • I deleted Windows Defender on Windows Vista and tried to download and reinstall windows Defender but I gat a message that comes up saying that I should not install windows defender, because it came with the computer.

deleted the windows on windows defender and impossible to reinstall! Message comes out and says that I should not install windows defender, because it came with windows vista. How can I try to fix it when I have windows Defender on my computer?

You can not delete Defender in Vista.

It is part of the Vista operating system.

You can only activate / it:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off

Enable or disable the Windows Defender

Many anti-virus have conflict Defender (McAfee, AVG, etc.), and turn it out / conflict with it.

Microsoft Security Essentials, it turns off because it has its own version.

  • Need help for upgrade to / install Windows 7

    Hi all

I have two computers - one with XP home and the other with Vista home premium.

    XP - home:

I have three hard drives on this computer: C, R and Z c. have windows xp installed and R and Z are just data with operating system drives.

I want to install Windows 7 on drive C. However, when I try to install Windows 7, it says "the installation disc is not compatible with your version of Windows. Upgrade you must correct installation disk... To install a new copy of Windows, restart and boot your computer using the installation disc. "

Question: How can I install Windows 7 on my C drive? It doesn't matter to me if I update to Windows 7 or if I format the c drive and install a fresh copy again. Both are acceptable. Any ideas?

    Vista - home premium:

Same question. The only difference is that it is a laptop, so I did not all additional hard drives. I want to be able to do here is to create a partition where I can save all my data (lets call him X), and then install Windows 7 on drive c. In this way, I get Windows and my stuff is always on the laptop.

    Question: same as above.

    More info:

When I try and the boot disk, the computer won't let me start. It just leads to a black screen, then load it Windows XP.

I downloaded Windows 7 from my University website... its Windows 7 Professional Edition (64-bit operating system).

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Hi XPto7,

Just a few things for you.  First, did you buy the real disks or download?

If you bought the discs, have you tested them in another machine to make sure that they work properly?  If they are not:

If you have downloaded, what method of there are you using?  Please see this link:

original title: Windows XP on 8 GB SSD

    Hello guys!

May I ask if it's OK to install Windows XP on an SSD 8gig?

I am currently using windows 7. My problem is that I don't get 100 + MB of free space! And I can't install Microsoft Office because I don't have a lot of space left... So I intend to switch to XP.

Are there problems with regrads to Win XP on SSD performance?

I need answers please! They will be very appreciated! Thank you!!!

PS: I'm using an Acer Aspire One netbook. Processor Intel Atom N270 @1. 66. GHz 1 G RAM.

I am EXTREMELY surprised that you even could install 7 on an 8 GB SSD. My C:\Windows folder is 9.2 GB on its own.

You can try running it in compatibility mode, but if this does not work, you may need to find a version of Vista in your game.

  • Hi, I'm trying to enable my ipod touch to access the internet via an adhoc network on my computer microsoft vista but only get local only = for example no internet. Any suggestions?

The ad hoc network is set up and seems to work with reception on the computer and the ipod. I tried it with ICS enabled on the side ad-hoc wireless and lan internet side with no luck. The TCP/IP protocol seem fine. The onlything that appears bad is that in the network and sharing window, network adhoc Committee has 'local only' in the access panel.

Also all the sharing and discovery options are turned on as well.

Any suggestions why internet is not going through?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to install windows xp after vista installed windows and have an OS 2

don't restore broken not register on XP, how to restore XP without pause 2-system configuration (install XP exist).

Thank you! But this reference don't help me, because I have an installation disc for laptop (Vista) computer, there is not so much control as "repair system". I think that to use the program "HDHacker. This program save the sectors MBR and 2 logical drives on files and may start to restore. Also probably need to save files to directories root of two disks and after installation of XP to restore these files, the MBR and boot. Recently I read on a forum topic (he spoke of installation for portable computer diskettes). Do not know, trust this program or not. Thanks for the reply.
