  View (alt + V) menu > folders > unified

  In this way, you see a single Inbox for all accounts with them individually below.

When I first, open another folder and then return to my Inbox, the new message is displayed as it should be in bold.   To my knowledge, Thunderbird does not provide these features by default. You can use the Add-on Firetray achieve the same, however.

  I don't know of any software that works when you are not running. An email client is unclear there is mail on your server vendors until it connects. It must be run to you connect to the server.

  I started Thunderbird in safe mode by shift-click on the application icon. I found that the problem has disappeared. I uninstalled the extension 'Identity selector' (version 1.93) and restarted in normal mode and the issue had still gone. However, I then reinstalled identity selector and the issue has yet been set. So, I don't know if simply start in safe mode, then rebooting in normal mode, or if the uninstall and reinstallation of identity selector is what makes the difference.

  Sorry, but at the moment "Dial in tab" is not yet possible. You will always have a new window when the composition or the sponsor/transfer a message.
