HDD 1 error (301)

I received the error of hard disk 1 (301) today by turning on my laptop. It says something in the sense of "the hard drive detected an imminent failure. While doing some research, I noticed that many other people have the same problem but my question is alittle different.

My laptop is a DV7 - 4070US (windows 7), bought in 2010 for its out of warranty now. Can someone here tell me what the problem is exactly? A hard drive broke or nearly broke?

Also since im not much of a computer person what would be the best way to solve this problem? I have to just take my laptop to a computer repair shop and to change the hard drive?

Last question; my laptop comes with a frame based on the recovery where I can reinstall windows by pressing F11, if I change the hard disk this feature will still be available?

To answer your questions in order:

1. 301 error code will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  It is impossible to estimate the remaining life of the disc - it may have a few months or not tomorrow.

2. & 3.  I recommend to replace the disk hard yourself - it is a fairly simple procedure and will save costs of paying someone to do it.  A brief overview is detailed below.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 63 of your & Maintenance Guide.

To reinstall the operating system on the new drive, you will need to use your set of recovery disks - the new hard drive will be empty, so the f11 option (which begins the process of recovering from a partition on the disk) will not work.

The procedure for the use of recovery disks to reinstall the operating system is described in the document of HP here.

    I have a SMART disk error that detects imminent failure. On trying to continue the start up, I got "Windows was able to start" from the Boot Manager (leader: \BCD status: 0xc0000034). A quick hard drive scan confirmed a bad drive.

    Bought a new SATA for my laptop even model. Same mistake.

    I understand that you receive a hard drive error 301 and that you have purchased and installed a new hard drive.  It is recognized in the bios, but it also gave the same error.  You have attempted to install Windows, but can't.

    You have removed the new drive and installed in another computer and it tested very well and you could install Windows on it and start on this drive.

    You have replaced the SATA cable and installed in your laptop, but there was no change.

    You are right at this point, I suspect that it is the motherboard... I would test the motherboard by using the UEFI.  Under the component option you will see the systemboard, select it.

    The SMART drive test produces a prediction on the risk of hard drive failure, not a real failure.

    A warning to SMART disk error can appear for various reasons such as having been jarred abruptly computer or hard drive, be subject to the higher than usual temperature.

    Perform HP hard drive - wide test of the system BIOS Diagnostics shortly after switching on, tapping F10/F2

    If there are any Smart player or hard failure error you see, Hard Drive is a failure and the solution is to replace the drive.

    It would also be very wise to make sure that you back up all your files etc as soon as possible.

    My HP G62-b23SA signals an imminent hard drive failure. Drive hard test reports a SMART error (301).  You should back up the system and contact the HP support to inquire if the hard drive needs to be replaced or just needs to be repaired.     Any SATA HDD 3.5 "internal 7200 rpm or compatible, my preference would be to install a Western Digital HD, other brands available hard drives are Seagate and Toshiba.

    I was installing store_procedures on our PROD several times, and they are successful. This stored_procedures are created by developers and once tested on DEV & UAT, they are transferred to the PROD through me.

    But this time I install a new SP, but I got error > Error (301,28): PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

    Even if the synonym. The owner of the schema of the SP has grant select on the table and synonym of created. Why not MS can see this synonym?

    Is there something that I missed?

    Since there is only one user in your role, so I'll suggest to directly grant you the user rather than role - it's the easiest and simplest account according to your needs. The roles are best used to organize all of the users. If ever it is necessary to use roles (i.e. multiple users/schemas in a role) then, I think, you can play with AUTHID clause creating blocks.

  • Air App for Android - error 301: application descriptor missing

    Greetings!

    Have built in Flash for a while, I am brand new to mobile development.  I am currently creating my first app Android, a very simple game called '302 saves the Galaxy '. I don't intend to sell the game.  I'm really just trying to learn my way through the process of publishing for future projects.

    I was able to get to the last step in creating the apk file and I get this error in the command line process-

    "Error 301: Application descriptor missing/cannot be opened.

    Here is a screenshot of the window from command line-

    Here are some other details on my process-

    • In Flash, I chose to publish to Air 2.0, because it's the only option I had (IE, no Air 2.5 option)
    • I checked three times and all spellings seem to be correct in my command line syntax

    I don't know I'm missing something here obvoius.  Any suggestions?

    I'm every time hard drive 301 error when I open my computer. I will get error has occurred on the hard drive using windows.

    I checked for samsunghdd.com and there was some application called seatoolsDOS, just cannot run it because I can't access Option ahead of start. I asked what to do and meet a forum was the drive is dying and Im agreeing that too now.

    Smart disk error indicates failure of hard drive. You still get any ID failure?

    Since you have already replaced it & not showing is not available, the probability is for the connection by defective SATA cable or SATA controllers or motherboard itself.
    What of all the other disk hard test - wide?

    Try HD Tune Pro software currently running on the system.

    You may have to contact HP for repair.

  • Code error-301 when you deploy the image

    I have a problem.

    I want to deploy an image from a client light t5740e to a client t610.

    I cloned successfully of the image to a folder as a file .ibr deposit.
    I also have an older version of the image as a file on a FTP repository .img.

    I can successfully deploy the image the FTP repository to a t610 client.
    The problem is that this image is obsolete and cannot be used.

    When tryng to deploy the image to a file repository shared, I get the following error code:
    2013-04-22 11:38:47 ErrorCode:-301, error information: the device of the faimly bios is not match the image.

    I also tried to create an image using HP ThinState Capture, but recevie the following error during startup:

    Inititializing... * ERROR * system has failed the OS image.

    After that, I downloaded the standard image on the HP site and created a USB key. Then I replaced the .ibr file, but it still gives me the same error as ThinState installation.

    Is there a way to bypass the repository of shared folder and clone the image to the FTP repository under a .img file and deploy it to the client t610?

    Or is it possible to bypass the BIOS checking when deploying the repository of shared folder?

    Assuming that the version HPDM is common (4.5 with SP2), there is an option in the task editor when applying the deployment to enable Cross-platform for Imaging.

    This is however strongly discouraged because the picture you shot of the t5470e will not have the necessary drivers for the t610. The original image on the web site of HP will have drivers for both, but the part of the RunOnce scripts at first start after imaging USB is clean the unnecessary drivers by the platform to maximize space on the device.

    However, you should be able to pull the image of 7th WES using the FTP browser component in menu HPDM model. This will generate a model that can be deployed to clients light t5740e both t610.

    One last thing to remember is to make sure that the agent is updated on the device target before deployment and then again after the deployment.

  • Satellite Pro A10 - no answer - enter HDD #0 error

    Pro warranty A10, student daughter portable computer reports no longer works, already suspended and finally no response from any other lights at the entrance to DC charger is connected.

    Clean fan/radiator, a lot of lint etc. removed. No obvious signs to know why the Board me dead however. Confirmed with counters that this DC of the shipper in me Board. Ordered A replacement me Board, FHZSY1, eBay and equipped, taking the precautions of static, but can not confirm that they were done by the seller.
    Now, new Board of Directors recognizes the input DC and recharged the battery OK. Tried to turn on the laptop but terrible mistake INPUT #0. Concluded that the HARD drive had also been damaged. New (Toshiba box) arrived two days later but gave the same error when mounted. BIOS won't recognize HARD at all. Tried all the messages on the verification of the connections and certainly not of mounted riders. Laptop will continue to start from a system CD, as it may then think the new me Board is OK

    Are the HARD drive of the Satellite Pro A10 different from those on the A10 satellite earlier?
    Any other ideas on this INPUT #0 error?

    As much as I know there is no different hard disks and your use of the same laptop as most other Toshiba laptops. I can just write that this error is certainly resulting HARD disk problem. The HARD drive is obviously not identified by BIOS correctly.

    Sorry but I have no more info on this subject. By the way: is the motherboard new or used one?

    NOTE: This will delete all data in the internal recording media. To avoid the loss of importance of the images/videos, you must save them before you format the HARD drive.

    If you remove the disks, the berries are labeled inside. With the front of the laptop towards you, the primary drive is generally on the right and the secondary image on the left.
