HDD SSD for Satellite C660D

I was wondering if the laptop I (model: PSC1YA-00G00L)
is able to use a hard drive. If so, could let me know what types are compatible, and anything else I need to know please? Thank you.

Hello

I don't see any big problems with a common SATA SSD drive.
The controller supports the SATA interface and you use a SATA SSD drive.

In some cases, some SSD drive requires a firmware update, but this should be verified with the manufacturer of SSDS

  • Need drivers for Satellite C660D - 10L

    Hallo!

I just unpacked my laptop Toshiba Satellite C660D - 10L, and the problem is that I can't find the drivers. My computer was delivered without BONES in there, so I'm going to install Windows 7 or XP, but the problem is that I can't find the apropriate drivers... There is no drivers for 10L.
My biggest problems are drivers of the WLAN card.

Can someone tell me what is wifi chipset in this laptop? Realtek? Broadcom? Atheros? and what model... I found some drivers for 660D, but are not specified for 10L.
Also when I try to find my computer by serial number or part number it does not... I has yet to start using it and I'm already little bit disappointed with support.

    Just, without panic.

I checked the Toshiba download page and I ve found the drivers for Win7 32 & 64 bit. Therefore, there is no reason to panic.

Go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check the download for Satellite C660D PSC0W. You will find everything you need.

Windows XP Home edition's old operating system and Toshiba doesn't support it for this new model of laptop.

    >... and I need the DRIVERS
You really thing on Toshiba drivers download page of not correct?
The proposed pilots are the same used in the Toshiba recovery image and included in the preinstalled operating system.

I can see in the specifications of the laptop your laptop was offered without OS preinstalled, right?

I think you're doing something wrong, then maybe you should install OS again with our help. What is wrong with display, BT or wireless?

  • What type of SSD for Satellite L70-A-14U

I would like to replace the HARD drive of my laptop Toshiba L70-A-14U DSS. What type of disc should I buy?

    * 2.5 "ok?
    * mSATA-300, mSATA-600 or SATA III?
    * 9, 5mm or 7mm a disc?

Which of these options are ok?

    Hello

The SSD can be used instead of the HARD disk.
The handles for laptop and SATA 2.5 9.5 mm height HDD.
For me, this means that you can also use a height of 2.5 9.5 mm SATA SSD drive.

The SATA controller is compatible with the latest standards.
This means that you will be able to use the fastest SSD drive. But of course the SSD drive performance (data transfer speed) will be pointing down to the same standard supported by the controller.

  • Re: Unable to install HDD Protection for Satellite L750-A218

    Hello

When I try to install the Toshiba HDD Protection software it says that its not available for the model.
I got the exe of the drivers Web page for my exact model of latoptop.

    It is a follow-up of:

    Hello

You are looking for HDD protection Utility for Win 7 64 bit system.
    Right?

The utility of the HARD disk protection was preinstalled on Win 7 32 bit system?

I found the 64 bit HDD protection utility for series Satellite L755 version.
There are two different versions: v 2.2.1.12 and v2.2.0.12

Try to install both, but before you do this, you must install the VAP (value added package) for 64 bit system

  • HDD upgrade for Satellite M30 304

    Hello

I have a Satellite M30-304. It has a 40 GB hard drive and I would like to upgrade to 120 or 160 GB.

Could if it you please let me know the specification of compatible drive for M30 - 304?
Can what max HDD M30-304 capacity have? Detailed specifications would be useful.

    Thank you.

I doubt you could use a 160 GB HARD drive.
I recommend you to check a 120 GB IDE 2.5 "HDD.

The point is that the HARD disk controller supports the 28-bit LBA and bigger hard drives as 120 GB will not be recognized by the BIOS.

So in my opinion the 120 GB is the largest HARD drive that can be used.

Also check some threads here in the forum.

  • Upgrade SSD for Satellite Pro A120

    Hello
I have a satellite pro A120, which feels a little tired. I did research SSD upgrades to replace the HARD drive, but I don't know if I can update or not. I would really appreciate any advice or information you can give me.

    Thank you

    Hello

You can upgrade the laptop with an SSD. You need a disc SSD SATA 2.5 as the A120 supports the SATA controller.
Not quite sure about the SSD size but I guess a 250 GB should be recognized correctly.

  • HDD upgrade for Satellite Pro M70

Is anyone know the upgrades available to change the standard 60GB hard drive in the Satellite Pro M70 (PSM76E-00100KEN) with something bigger.

The Toshiba Options site shows only optionally available external hard drives, but noticed that the newer models of the same family have between 80 and 100 GB discs, so I asked if any of these would correspond, for example:

    PSM75E-00P004EN uses a 100 GB drive
    PSM76E-00500KEN uses a 80 GB drive

You can also all drives available from other sources that might be suitable - what spec should I look, speed, installation size, connections etc. and BIOS compatibility

All the info appreciated, surprising how fast the disk fills up, and I would like to keep in-house, although I also use an external drive of 250 GB for home storage and backups etc.

    Thank you
    Steve

    Hello

The Satellite Pro M70 series is great, but I think that every m70 must support a HARD drive with serial - ATA interface.
Some units have been delivered with a 80 GB HARD drive. In my view, that a 100 GB HARD drive should also work.

I found a few properties of the HARD drive:
    Rotating disk: 5400 RPM
    Buffer size: 8 MB
    Number of discs: 2
    Number of Heads: 4

  • SSD for Satellite A300-1 MW (PSAGCE)

    Hello!
I have laptop Toshiba A300-1MW. I want to change an original SATA 2.5 "drive HARD 250 GB (WDC WD2500BEVS-26UST0) for some SSD (OCZ Vertex 3 SATA III 2.5" SSD 120 GB---> http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-agility-3-sata-iii-2-5-ssd.html). Can you tell me, 'SATA III' SSD will be good for my laptop?

    Best regards
    Spoooxy

    Hello

Generally, it should be compatible standard SATA is downwards compatible.
This means that even if you use a SATA III connected SATA II device, then the BIOS should recognize such device.
But of course, you would not get the speed provided by SATA III because the phone does not support this kind of controller. The speed would be limited to the SATA 2

  • Compatible wireless network cards for Satellite C660D-181

    Hello

is it all the same to discover what are WLAN cards are compatible in my laptop Toshiba C660D-181 girls?

The laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, all drivers/bios are up-to-date.

    I tried...

Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6230 - detects, installs, wifi says "no connection is available" - FN & F8 does nothing

Intel Wifi Link 5100 - detects, installs, wifi says "no connection is available" - FN & F8 allows me to turn on wifi power but still do not see the connections

Atheros AR5BHB92 - detects, installs, wifi says "no connection is available" - FN & F8 does nothing

All of the above cards work in other laptops that we have in the House, Acer Aspire 5741Z (6230 Intel, Intel 5100 Atheros work and detect wifi), Toshiba L655 (Intel 6230 (bluetooth does not work), Atheros and Intel 5100 all work and detect wifi), Toshiba L450D (Atheros works and detects wifi).

I thought that the problem was initially that Toshiba C660D-181 is based on a chipset AMD (like the Toshiba L450D) and no WLAN Intel card would work so I had the Atheros AR5BHB92 cards instead. The Atheros installed and worked immediately in the Toshiba L450D but it won't work in the new Toshiba C660D-181.

Basically, I'm looking for a card that works on 5 GHz. The card that moved into the laptop is a Realtek RTL8188CE is only 2.4 GHz and we have a lot of wireless activity if I was alive, the 5 GHz range is clean and I get amazing speed to use.

    Any help/advice is appreciated.

    > is anyway to find out what are the WLAN cards are compatible in my laptop Toshiba C660D-181 girls?

No, I haven't found any details
I think the compatibility depends on factors such as BIOS or motherboard and this, if it is always different. Any Toshiba or a laptop from another manufacturer supports various BIOS and map different mother (smart)

But in most cases, you can get all compatible parts of a Toshiba service partner... so in all cases where you are unsure, I recommend you ask a favor for a part of comaptible

    Hello

HARD drive recovery can not be downloaded.
You can not download the recovery disc as well.

Generally, recovery disc HARD must be available on your laptop and you should be able to start this pressing F8 at the beginning of the initialization.
Simply said: turn on the device, press F8 immediately after the laptop was turned on maybe you will have to press F8 several times in the line
Then choose fix my computer and then you should see the drive HARD recovery option.

If this is not available (no matter why), then you must create a recovery disc using called Recovery disk Creator tool that must be preinstalled on the laptop.

If you are not able to create the recovery disk then you can order it from here:

  • Please recommend an SSD for Toshiba Satellite C660D-10W

    Hi people

I'm looking for a recommendation for an SSD for my laptop, Satellite C660D-10W

I want to perform a clean build - I have a new licensed copy of Windows 10 Pro.

I bought a disc of Kingston after some research online, but subsequently discovered Kingston declaring that they do not support the use of this device in my laptop.

Toshiba customer support put me on "Topaz", which recommended product + service (though not an SSD!) cost more than 250 pounds. For that price I can get a replacement of like-for-like of the laptop under warranty!

I'm looking for a simple option where I can buy a SSD and do the installation myself. 250 GB to 500 GB for the region of £60ish.

    Thoughts?
    Chris

I have a Crucial SSD in my C660 - 1 7. He turned my laptop. Boots in seconds!
They have special offers for the moment like this http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/satelli...-10w/CT6696741 250 GB @£ 63,59

  • What Toshiba SSD can be used for Satellite U200

Please could you recommend me a * Toshiba * SSD for my laptop satellite U200.
You need 120 or 128 GB.

It would include a migration (for example Acronis) tool to copy my HDD (80 GB) to a new SSD?

    Thank you!

I guess most of the SSDS that support the SATA controller/interface would be compatible and should operate within this U200 series.

But you won't get readers full SSD performance as most SSDS are faster than the speed of my HARD disk controller support.

I assumed that the device supports common SATA I (150 MB/s) controller. The SSD supports SATA III or SATA II (300 MB/s). But SATA is compatible to the bottom. Therefore, you should be able to also use the disks SSD SATAII/III
