HDMI to an analog TV/recorder output

My Dell Studio 1535 has an HDMI output port. I wish to connect to an analog TV older type with the 3 red/white/yellow RCA inputs.

I see adapter with one end HDMI cables and 3 RCA plugs at the other end pretty cheap but other converters with inputs and outputs to higher costs.

Can I use just the adapter cable or do I need a conversion box.

Hi JohnDHeslop,

You will need to use a converter for this task.

HDMI to RCA cables are usually for home theater applications, no PC to use TV.

If you're curious about how this works, you can visit any store home theater to demonstrate one of the HDMI to RCA cables.

I hope this helps!

  • analog input and output synchronization

    Hello everyone, I seem to have a problem of synchronization of the analog input and output on my M-series USB-6211. My request is quite simple. I want to the production and to acquire a sinusoid at the same time. Theoretically, I should have the same 4000 data points through the input and output channels. The reality, however, captured on an oscilloscope, shows that the analog output is off more than 4000 data points. The entry (acquisition) shows 4000 samples. Please see below an excerpt from the creation of task, timing and execution. I'm afraid that the analog input and output are not attached correctly. Do you see something suspicious? Thank you very much! The task was created: DAQmxCreateTask("",&inTaskHandle); DAQmxCreateTask("",&outTaskHandle); Analog output channel Configuration, with 20Ksamples/s: DAQmxCreateAOVoltageChan (outTaskHandle, physChanOut, ' ',-10, 10, DAQmx_Val_Volts, NULL); DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming (outTaskHandle, "OnboardClock", 20000, DAQmx_Val_Rising, DAQmx_Val_ContSamps, 4000); Configuration of the analog input strings: DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan (inTaskHandle, physChanIn, "", DAQmx_Val_RSE,-10, 10, DAQmx_Val_Volts, ""); DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming (inTaskHandle, "OnboardClock", 20000, DAQmx_Val_Rising, DAQmx_Val_ContSamps, 4000); Set up the trigger: sprintf ("/%s/ai/StartTrigger", local_port, deviceName); DAQmxCfgDigEdgeStartTrig (outTaskHandle, local_port, DAQmx_Val_Rising); Output: DAQmxWriteAnalogF64 (outTaskHandle, (numberOfSamples * oversample), 1, 40, DAQmx_Val_GroupByChannel, input, & sampsPerChanWritten, NULL); Acquire: DAQmxReadAnalogF64 (inTaskHandle, 4000, 40, DAQmx_Val_GroupByChannel, readArray, 8000, & sampsPerChanRead, NULL); The tasks stop: DAQmxStopTask (outTaskHandle); DAQmxStopTask (inTaskHandle);

    Hello

    Change the finished continuous sampling method seems to solve the problem:

    DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming (inTaskHandle, "OnboardClock", 20000, DAQmx_Val_Rising, DAQmx_Val_FiniteSamps, 4000);

    Also, I wanted to say earlier to write 4000 samples:

    Output:

    DAQmxWriteAnalogF64 (outTaskHandle, 4000,1, 40, DAQmx_Val_GroupByChannel, input, & sampsPerChanWritten, NULL);

    Thank you

  • Need for DVI, HDMI on Satellite A300-15 b output

    My toshiba laptop Satellite A300-15 b has only a VGA and S-video out;
    It has an Ati Radeon HD 3650 512 MB graphics card that supports hdmi and dvi, FullHD;

    I know that dvi and hdmi are of better quality than vga, so how can I connect my laptop to the dvi and hdmi ports to get the full quality?

    I think as a limitation on the taken resolutions dynadock supported?
    There is the vga - dvi converters, are good? and how to get quality hdmi and give the hdmi output? thanx

    Hello

    I doubt you'd be able to get HD quality on external monitor using this laptop.
    As you say the book contains the outputs VGA and S-video.
    The s-video port allows you to connect a TV to the laptop computer and the VGA to connect the external monitor.

    But the two ports provide analog video signals. The DVI and HDMI are digital ports and it s not possible to convert the analog signal into a digital signal.

    Of course you can use some cards but are not converter and I doubt that these adapters would improve the video quality.

    Hello I have a problem with the VGA output of my Toshiba Satellite L500 laptop

    The fact is that when I use the VGA output with the laptop on the side, on TV I get color similar to a letter setting the vertical stripes...

    I leave here a picture of what appears to connect the VGA output of my laptop to a TV:

    tried another laptop to my TV and looks great...
    then...
    I'm missing a few driver... don't you think?
    Why is my HDMI works perfectly, but my VGA display colored vertical lines?...
    Not to do...
    It's hopeless... I need the VGA output of my computer toshiba laptop l500 to work.

    Greetings from the Spain.

    Question may be stupid at first but why do you need VGA connection if HDMI works perfectly? I mean using HDMI you will have better photo quality and also sound is transferred to television.
    Using VGA video signal will be sent to the TV.

    In any case, I put t know which driver you are using. What is your laptop pre-installed with original OS that you got with your laptop?
    Do you use the only TV option when this happens?

  • Synchronization of analog and digital output with the external sample clock

    Hello

    First of all sorry for my English, I will try to explain what I want to do.

    I want my PCIe-6321 to send two custom signals (modification sawtooths) on a mirror controller. I would also like to generate output with my card at the beginning of each tooth of saw. Everything must be synchronized with an external k-clock signal of 100 kHz. The idea is that whenever the PCI receives a trigger to external clock, it sends two analog output voltages and when he received 1024 clock ticks it will also send a pic of triggering TTL. What I do is first prepare the map and after that in a loop sending and modifing the output values of the two signals and at the same time send a digital signal Boolean in each arch, so when's done it 1024 iterations of the loop I send an event to the digital port. Attached you can see.

    The problem is that I don't know how to synchronize both. Can I use the sample clock just to the analog output? I can use sample for the two outputs clock, or do I need to use the output of the meter? If don't know how to use it here.

    If I do nothing else bad/wrong, I would be grateful for feedback.

    Thanks in advance,
    Pablo

    I don't know how but I find the solution. I'm generating more than a positive value (as I was triggered maybe very fast the oscilloscope has been absent there). If I put the sample clock of digital output to use the sampling/ao/Dev1 clock that it doesn't, but if I put to use the same source as the OD (terminal where my external clock is connected), but the trigger to start the DO to be Dev1/ao/StartTrigger this works. I don't really know why, but it does.

    Thank you for your patience and your help. I put here the final code.

  • analog inputs with outputs analog delayed

    Is there a straightforward way to configure Labview as a generator of analog delay?  I need to generate an analog output that is identical to, but delayed, an analog input signal.  The delay could be quite long, on the order of a second or two.  I'm using Labview v8.6 and I have a card PCI-6251.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hi UKslj,

    I went ahead and took a stab at it - how does this look:

    Use delayed output Version of avian influenza in DAQmx AO

    The downside is that you need to set delay high enough so that the task of the AO is not negative, but I think it should be more or less what you need to do.  Let me know how it goes!

  • Fortunately the cRIO merger two time real screws: analog and digital output

    Howdy,

    I need help with a cRIO code.  The purpose of the code is to acquire an analog input from the NI 9234 c series module and be able to send a "signal of pulse" digital camera (first low for some time, t1, then high for some time, t2) from a NI9401.  Separately, I wrote the code to perform both tasks.  However, when I add the code of RT digital output pulse pulses to analog input RT code, the DMA FIFO overflows because of the way that my digital pulse output code works.  Currently, there are two reasons which overflows of the FIFO:

    1. The digital output code is pending for a while loop (pending "Send Pulse" become a true), the loop I can't empty the buffer FIFO
    2. The FIFO is not enough, quickly emptied depending on how long the pulse (t1 and t2) times are.  The way I keep the pin high or low for a defined period of time is by issuing a sleep command, which blocks the loop I empty the FIFO.  (Is there a "best" way to sleep?)

    I have attached photos of my codes FPGA and RT.  Please give me a suggestion on how to marry my two loops of RT for the use of happy resources!  Thank you.

    I found a quick way to solve this problem.  I moved the timing of the Digital pulse on the FPGA.  So whenever I have a Boolean value, the FPGA generates a waveform with the settings I put (a pulse in my case).  This works because the FPGA loops run in parallel, I think.  That's why, when I run a pending order in the loop of FPGA digital output, it does not prevent the FPGA of analog input loop to run.  I have attached a picture of the code.

  • Synchronized analog input and output on myRIO

    Hello!

    A brilliant new myRIO just landed on my desk and I'm looking forward to learn how to use it.

    I have a question about the ability of the default FPGA personality.

    Is really similar synchronous HW in and output possible? Can configure you the necessary trigger and clock routing from within VI RT? To say ~100kS/s?

    I need to delve into a FPGA design to achieve this?

    Thank you!

    You will not be able to get your RT loop to run reliably at rates greater than 5 kHz, and we generally do not recommend trying to control I/O faster than 500 to 1000 Hz. This isn't a limitation of the default personality himself, it's just that some tasks are better suited for the OTR and some are better for the FPGA (it is important to understand when developing an application on the myRIO). Synchronization and the output of ~100KS/s signals are something that you have to do on the FPGA.

    http://www.NI.com/Tutorial/14532/en/

    There are some good tutorials in the link above. They use the cRIO instead of the myRIO but the functionality is basically the same. The biggest difference is that you won't have to add modules to your project, because all the inputs and outputs of the myRIO are fixed and must fill out automatically when you add a FPGA target to your project.

  • Error memory for large records output:

    Hello

    My workflow process takes as input a list. He travels the workflow for all items in the list. If my list contains 4 items, there will be 3 * 7 = 21 stages when I invoke the process. I can check my recordings for debugging.

    If I give 5 entries, it takes about 5 * 7 = 35 steps of the Workflow. If I try to play the record, I see the error: java heap space: out of memory exception. I've changed my space to Xmx1024m in workbench.ini. I also did: java - Xms < initial segment size > - < maximum segment size > Xmx (Q1: do we need to restart the JBoss after we do the second step?).

    Q2: My system is Windows7 with 4 GB of RAM. I have liveCycle 8.2 with SP2. JBoss and MySql. I set this size of RAM to java in one of our JBoss server files?

    Q3: Is there any file to set the maximum eligible steps for a process record? In the affirmative, please let me know. It would be a great help.

    Thank you

    If you are certain that your service is enabled and works I don't know why the configuration settings would be disabled.  The settings described in the sent link previously have been referenced in the documentation of the ES2, I have not determined if these 2 settings really existed in version (8.2 SP2) you have.  Aside from that they wouldn't be useful if the OOM error took place on the server and not Workbench. As you receive the error in the Workbench there's a switch workbench.ini that you can add to limit the number of steps that will be loaded with a record:

    -Dcom.adobe.workbench.unsupported.audit.maxNumberOfStepsToLoad = 250

    The default value is 250, but you can try to reduce this value.

    In addition, if the error is due to the size of your documents I don't know fo a solution for this but you can try making sure the variables view is closed when you load the recording.

  • 6009 outputs digital and analog input synchronization

    Hello

    I work in a program NI 6009. I want to leds by car with outputs digital NI 6009. For example, leads first will be on until what 200 micro seconds then second led will be on up to 200 micro seconds, and then first of all led will be on up to 200 micro seconds. I'll take led with photodedector signals and connect analog output photodedector input NI 6009. I want to synchronize the outputs digital and analog input and separate the first and second led signals the analog input for NI 6009 channel. How can you do with NI 6009? Please ADV

    You can not do with the USB-6009 case. Its outputs digital are software with a maximum speed of slightly more than 100 samples per second. The outputs can produce 200 microsecond pulses and cannot be synchronized with the analog input.

    You need a device with outputs digital hardware timed or counters that can produce a pulse outputs.

    You can synchronize a bit digital output and analog input recording signal on an additional channel to HAVE. Will allow you to see the photodetector and LED the drive with the same schedule and such resolution as described by the sampling rate I. The maximum sampling frequency of AI on the USB-6009 case is 48 kHz that is shared by all channels. If you have two lights to led and photodetector two signals maximum sampling rate would be 48 kHz/4 = 6 kHz which is barely fast enough for your 200 US signals. For more than 4 channels, it won't be fast enough.

    I suggest a simple oscillator circuit building and use it to clock a flip flop. This will give you alternating signals to drive the LEDs. You can use a line to reset the flip flop to give you control without the need for high speed.
