HDX18-1020US Blu - Ray on Vista 32-bit

I have a new HDX18-1020US that came with Vista 64 - Bit and Blu - Ray.  I decided to convert 32-bit Vista (some software I need does not work on 64-bit) and have completed the conversion (enough patches and downloads from pilot to choke a horse).  What does not work is the Blu - Ray player and it will not play any DVD movies.  I send a query to HP and they said they will not support it in this way, even if they have drivers for Vista 32-bit, XP and Windows 2000.

Also, they do not have the software for Vista 64-bit.

All the ideas and where to get the software?

I solved my problem.

I also have a Pavilion dv9750us, another laptop Blu - Ray and running Vista 32 bit.  I took a download of HP QuickPlay and installed on the other computer.

BTW-update for HP QuickPlay and the worst I've ever seen. He keeps the opn say you there's a newer version, you forcing to download another 150 MB file, uninstall the previous version and installing the new version.  I went through this 4 times!

I tried several players including VLC Media Player, Media Player Classic Home Cinema (not the Microsoft program), SMPlayer (MPlayer) and many others, but none of them can make the file. I can't afford a paid software but surely their must be a Blu - ray out there that can go beyond the DRM Blu - Ray and the safety program, so I can watch Blu - Ray movies. I don't want to play for money just to watch some Blu-Rays on my computer. Is there any free software knows that works beyond (the last security DRM) DRM format Blu - Ray, which won't let me watch Blu-Rays on my PC?

Microsoft does not provide playback of blu - ray.

If you bought the drive blu - ray by itself, check the installation CD, they usually come with software full version - you can check the packaging. If that's where you got from Cyberlink, check if there is a key in the documentation or the cd cover.

The only other option would be to seek a free - make sure it is from a reliable source.

  • Recommend Blu - Ray burning software

    Hi all

I can find a BLu - Ray burner, but the software that allows you to burn BLu - Ray still seems a bit sketchy.

One below looks good, but many say that you must purchase additional software for blu - ray burning.

I have toast, but an older version and do not want to pay just to be able to burn blu = ray.

Is it safe to burn it to Blu - Ray in the FCX? This option requires no other software right? The iMac and FCX

    has everything what to do?

What do you do with your DB? If you need to create sophisticated, you may need a Windows machine. If all you need is a reliable compiler and running something that reliable external combustion of FCPX, Toast gets my nod.

Burn inside FCPX works very well but it is facing issues like burning DVDs, especially subtle graphics or menu glitches that are difficult to track down or weird user errors.

    From the FCPX help system:

    DVD and Blu - ray

Use these destinations to burn your project or the clamp to standard definition (SD) DVD or Blu-ray-compatible disk, or to create a disc image (.img) file, you can copy on an external drive or burn to a disc later.

Note: The destination of Blu - ray does not appear by default. To add it to the list of Destinations, see create and edit the destinations on the part of.

The DVD and Blu - ray destinations include the following parameters:

    • Output device: Display output devices appropriate to your system including the optical drives and hard drive of the computer. You can use your hard drive to create a disc image (.img) file that you can copy to an external drive or burn it on a DVD media more later.
    • Layers: Displays the available layers on the destination media.
      • Auto: Automatically detects the type of disc you can use.
      • Single layer: Identifies the disc as a single-layer disc. You can use this option to force a disc double layer is treated as a single-layer disc.
      • Double layer: Identifies the disc as a double-layer disc. You can use this option to force the disk image is formatted for a disc double layer when you choose the hard drive as your output device. Important: Depending on the duration of the project, choosing Double layer when you use a disc single layer can cause an error when burning the disc.
    • Drive model: Displays the available disk models.
    • Disk when loads: Displays the automatic action when you play the disc.
      • The menu: Displays the main menu.
      • Movie Play: Immediately starts playing the movie.
    • Markers: Not available for Blu - ray when using a peripheral output AVCHD. Select the check box to include the text of chapter markers as subtitles on the output disc. Users can navigate between chapter markers by pressing the button next chapter or previous chapter on the DVD or Blu - ray drive. For more information on chapter markers, see Manage chapter markers and their thumbnails.

  • Blu - Ray OK, DVD version gives 'General error' on the construction of disc image

When you generate the final .iso file of the DVD disc image, I got a warning of 'General error' during one of the final steps. The Blu - Ray since the same project worked perfectly. The error occurred not during video transcoding, but just after the attempt to transcode a file audio small .wav for background music on the menu. Yet once, it worked well for the Blu - Ray, it's 16 bits, 48 kHz, etc.. All menus and video and audio previews also showed no sign of distress.

Any ideas what to look for? Final for the .iso to DVD transcoding took like 6 hours so I want as supposition little and check the work as possible! Thank you!

How long is the audio? It may be simply too short to encode a correct DVD. If so, open it in Soundbooth and add silence at the end.

  • Blu Ray does not work after upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit

Hope someone can help with this problem. I found a lot of forum and users with similar problems but I can't solve this problem.

I bought this HP Pavilion DV7-1055EA about 3 years ago the drive blu - ray one of the points of sale, it was loaded with Vista 32 bit. After making this computer has 4 GB of RAM instead of 3, I did a clean install of windows 7 64-bit. After which my Blu Ray player stopped working.

When inserting a CD/DVD, the drive works fine and everything is as usual, however when insert a Blu Ray disc windows does not recognize the drive IE "drive is empty".

Different things, I tried to set the inclusion of the problem, reflashing the BIOS, install the latest firmware, re - install the game media, installed PowerDVD but without any change in the symptoms.

Can someone help with this problem? Well, I'm stuck on this one like blu ray readers are not my strong point in computers. Maybe HP (in their wisdom) printed a digital brand on the device which prevents him from being compatible with more recent versions of windows? I talked to HP however my warranty has expired I do not pay £15 for a fool to tell me to come back for win vista (which is the worst OS known to man kind) or that there is no solution available. Help, please?

    Hello

After writing this last post, so I decided to download Nero Info Tool to look at information from drive etc.

The program asked if I could put in a disc to test the speed of running, so I thought... what the hell I'll put in a blu - ray disc and see what happens.

Next thing I know that running speed test took place then everything suddenly the blu ray kicks in life and he was here... smooth as the more calm waters, known for the kind of man... my blu ray film.

Reboot the machine and now the blu - ray player works fine. Any idea on what just happened?

  • After my gateway mD2614u (64bits WHP) OS was wiped out by the virus and "projected blue" I installed my old version (Gateway), Vista 32 bit... it will be good?

After my gateway mD2614u (64 bit WHP) OS was wiped out by the virus and "projected blue" I installed my old disk of Vista Home Premium 32-bit (gateway) to try to recover the operating system to 64-bit in fact somehow, it works fine after installing the network drivers appropriate. Would it be possible to retrieve an original os status or should I simply buy the disk recovery, or just be it? I know that tmi!

    # Migration from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows is OK but one backward migration is a problem because the 32-bit version of the installer cannot delete some items of 64-bit.  It produces a mixed version where you have taste strange anomalies a folder programs (x 86) and a programs folder.  Vista 32 bit shouldn't have a programs (x 86) folder.  Only 64-bit Vista has that.  He there's other, less obvious, issues.  Although you can retrieve files from the Windows.old folder the BONE itself is not trustworthy.  I tested the backward migration during the program Vista TechBeta and script scenarios has never supported by Microsoft Support after RTM due to 32-bit installation being unable to deal with the structure of the 64-bit system to remove.

You must order the 64 bits of the gateway recovery disks (if still available) or a third party such as Recovery - Disks.com.

How to read a blu ray movie in family vista premium sp1, my blu ray drive is an optiarc bdrom bc5500s with a provider of firmware Rev 1.83 pc is an hp dv7-1095eo

Consult the following site who says he has a fix important firmware for your machine.  Maybe that's the answer: http://www.sony-optiarc.eu/supportservice/downloads/bluraydrivesnotebooks/bc5500s.html. (this page also includes support contact us links).  I don't know if you have to go through them or through HP, but it can't hurt to try.  If the player Blu Ray comes with your HP, you can NOT use this solution as it is does not work, but it can cause damage.  I don "t know how you have it so you have to answer this question, and then do the right thing (even if it means that you can't use the hotfix).

You can get in trouble with your device drivers.  Go to Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  Check for the blu ray devie and make sure it says that it is a blu ray devie drive (if it does not say blu ray in the description it likely somehow is not recognizing that it is a device of blu ray and pilots could be the answer). If you need to get the drivers (and you need to do at least for blu - ray device even if you installed from the disc supplied with the deivice - ago maybe more recent updates available for this device and your version of Vista and all the others you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem) leave the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

It is not a Vista problem from your description.  It looks like a driver problem devixe, some missing software or firmware that is necessary to make the camera to recognize blu ray discs, or a problem with the devicce himself.  You have another computer, you can connect to see if you can get it to work on this computer (or you can connect directly to your TV if it is an option).  If Yes, we know devixe works and it is something on the laptop that is at the origin of the problem.  Have you confirmed that this device is compatible with your version of Vista in the http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/default.aspxVista Compatibility Center?

Another problem can be the software you use to play the movie - it cannot recognize or be able or read blu ray discs (or it can be so slow that you give before there actually loading times as I read that some may take a matter of several minutes before start).  What software you are using (name and version)?

Have you tried to contact the Helpdesk of brush head to see if they can help?  Because it's brand new, they should be happy to help you set up and work with you to resolve the problem with it being unable to recognize blu ray discs.  They met perhaps this situaton several times and have a solution easy availalble.  If the above does not work I give them a call and help you get them.  Again, I know not what provider, you must contact (but it it came with the machine, I think you deal with HP and what I read there is no solution available yet but things may have changed since that was sent)- but try both of them (one is bound to be willing and able to help you).

    I hope this helps.
