Headset does not work with Express Scribe program in Windows 7

I transcribe court reporters and use a headset and the Express Scribe program.  Now that I'm on Win 7, the helmet has only sound on one side.  I put the default value as suggested, but still only one side works.  Didn't have this problem when I was on XP.  I'm not using Bluetooth.

My headset no longer works correctly.

Hello

a. What is the brand and the model number of this helmet?

1. try to use the headphones on another computer and check if both sides work.
2. If it works fine on another computer, try to use the headset on another audio port on your computer (if available).
3. check the settings of your audio software for the adjustment of balance of the left and right speakers.

Method 1.
Also try to check the following settings.
1. click on start, then type sound in the text box start the search.
2. click on its in the section mentioned above control panel.
3. click the playback tab and click on the image with a green check mark next to him (should be the default device) so it is highlighted.
4. click on the properties button.
5. click on the Advanced tab.
6. uncheck the box next to this line: "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."
7. click on OK.
