Hello, I have a HP Office Jet 5610Xi. I have a printer error

I have a HP Officejet 5610Xi. I had for a few years. Connected to a Windows XP.  Not used on the internet.

Yesterday during the printing of a document, the printer stopped and displays this error message. "Cartridge error, refer to device documentation to troubleshoot issues."  I have always used HP cartridges.

I looked and could not find any information other than the stuff of bad cartridge. I followed all the instructions and the printer still displays the same message.

The black cartridge has been used for a few weeks and it was working fine. I get the same message for the color cartridge.

All of the suggestions.

Hello. I'm sorry that you are having this problem with the printer. You can print reserve mode? This is where you pull out the cassette black/color and it will print with the remaining cartridge. I'm assuming that the document used to solve the problem was one that had suggestions like this listed here.  If this is the case. The next thing I would try is a hard reset. No user settings are lost with a hard reset.

To do so.

1. with the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet and turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
2 then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
3. wait at least 30-60 seconds
4. plug the power cord into the wall outlet first. If a module with the power cord, make sure that the light of the module and then reconnect power cord on the back of the printer
5. the printer should power back on by itself, but if not use the power button on front panel to turn on machine.

Hello! Welcome to the @Chinadoll702 forums

I read your post on printing problems you encountered on your Mac running 10.6 and your Officejet 6700. I have some ideas in mind to start and I would like to know the results and we will take it from there.

Update the firmware of the printer: get the latest Firmware and updates

Be able to reset the printer and make sure the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help greatly.

Press the power button to turn the product on.
With the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
If the product does not light by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

Make a few copy then and tell me if the copies suspend, cancel, do not work, etc.

Try to print the text change on your Mac as well and get back to me with the results.

    Good luck

  • Office Jet 6700 Premium: unable to print from 6700 JO unless I wake up

    Hello

The appellant here desperate because I cannot solve this ongoing problem.

    System set up:

    Office Office

    HP Office Jet 6700 premium

Wire in a BT Home Hub

    Laptop HP EVO, running wireless

    Problem:

I can no longer print the laptop wireless. I need to go to my office and print something. Then only the printer seems to be "awake", and then I can print from the laptop. As you can imagine this is not how it is supposed to be and this causes a lot of frustration.

The printer is also set for a static IP address (it was to solve other printing problems ). I also checked the firmware, and it is up to date.

Please tell us how to solve this problem.

    Thanking you in advance

    Wolfgang

    Hi @Klee66,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that your HP Office Jet 6700 Premium do not wake up when you print on it, unless you wake up before hand. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

There could be many reasons why this is happening, so please bear with me.

I see what your printer firmware is up to date, which is good.

    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

Please try Fix It tool of Microsofts, solve printer problems.

You do not share the printer from the computer desktop you have in sharing files and printing? Otherwise, this could cause part of the problem.

Do you turn the printer power on and off?

I can't see what your printer is connected to the BT Hub with an ethernet cable.

It is possible that the laptop is connected to the printer cannot communicate on the 5.0 GHz network. If they are of the same name that will be confusing.

Have you tried to configure the wireless and no cable connection on the printer to see if it makes a difference?

How old is the router, have you also checked to see if the router firmware is up-to-date?

Is the router dual-band? Two networks are the same SSID for 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz? If so, change the SSID to 5.0 GHz to a different name and restart all devices.

What router do you have to BT?

I suggest you read this article by BT, I have problems of connection of 5 GHz and features dual band wireless BT Home Hub 4 or 5 Hub.

I see that you have setup a static IP address. It's a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers default DHCP is located between 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232.

While in SAP, open the network tab, and then select IPv4.

Set the manual DNS on the printer.

    • Set the primary DNS as 8.8.8.8
    • And the secondary DNS as 8.8.4.4

I would like to try the steps in this guide, HP printers - printer (Windows 8) "offline" Status Message.

Q: problem for you to connect to HP Office Jet Pro 8610

I uninstalled and ran disk first aid and re-connected. I deleted Printers/Scanners and added in. Various combinations of the above steps with re - starts between the two. Am already balding, can't afford to get out more. Any advice greatly appreciated.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8610 do not print, but will only fax

We have a HP Office Jet 8610 Pro and it worked fine until we hung like a fax also Thursday.

He used to copy, print, scan perfectly but it takes a new fax machine, so we went and bought the phone cord and hung a fax and telephone line with built in answering the Office Jet and the fax jobs, but now it not print a document in Open Office to the printer because she's trying to make a fax cover page.

I've ran out of ideas can you please help?

There are two pilots "printer" there, to print, choose the "printer Officejet Pro 8610' instead of the 'Officejet Pro 8610 FAX. Probably, you set another value by default when the fax feature is added, which is for the PC - fax. If you use the print function more often than the fax, make non-fax the default printer.

  • HP Office Jet 8500 A910: Unable to print from N network but can print from network G

I have a printing problem whenever I'm on my Wireless-N network. My printer is connected to the Wireless-G network, because apparently it doesn't support Wireless-N. I have the two Setup at home. My laptop can ping and see the printer when connected to wireless G, but impossible to print on it. I get an error message. As soon as I join the G wireless network, but it will print without problems. Is it possible that I can stay on the network n wireless and printing to the printer when it is on a wireless g network seems as if there should be a way to make this work.  I tried the IP address and Port 9100 printing manually and it did not form the network N I tried with Port Discovery HP monitor and it wouldn't do the N network. I get just an error and the printer would act as he was trying to print but never print anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

Your "network" uses wifi 5.0 GHz frequency?  If so, that's the problem.

The printer can only use the frequency of 2.4 GHz, but according to specifications:

"802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz networks, only.   There should be no problem with the help of 802.11/n.

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

Can you try using a TCP/IP port?

    Creating a TCP IP port

    1. print a Configuration Page to get the printer IPv4 address (you can also tap on the icon wireless on the front panel of your printer to obtain the IP address)
    2. on your PC, go to the Panel control, devices and printers, right-click the printer and on the left, click printer properties, select the Ports tab.
    3. click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.
    4. Enter the IP address of the printer.

This video resource will show you how do:

Create & use TCP IP port

Note that you can ALWAYS go back to the original port the HP software installed by selecting the HP port on the Ports tab (in the properties of the printer)
