XP and have lost all my photos/videos - cannot find anywhere (help) grateful suggestions
Hello
1 did you changes to the computer before the show?
You can open the Recycle Bin and check if the deleted files are present.
For more information, see:
To remove or restore files in the Recycle Bin
In the case where you cannot find the files in the Recycle Bin, you can download a third-party data recovery tool using your favorite search engine.
Note:
With the help of third parties Party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Please help me. I lost all my photos?
I was organizing my pictures on Windows Photo Gallery so that I could burn copies. I had not backed up the files. The image file was low on the left panel, so I tried to move it to the top. As I did I accidentally dropped it into another file. I couldn't find a way to get him out. Photo Gallery seemed well so when I finished my taggable picture I liquidated in Windows Photo Gallery. Now I can not open and 'Pictures' on my Start menu are absent from all the pictures I had stored there. I opened Windows Live Photo. Only photos that are raised there are those that I have my granddaughter tag. Miss me about 2 500 photos. I have tried everything I can think of to fix this, but nothing works. I lost all my photos?

Hi my iPad off, then I lost all my photo son is there a way I can restore it? Thank you
HI my iPad is disab then I lost all the photos of my son is there a way I can restore it please? Thank you
If you have never backed up your iPad in iTunes (or iPhoto/Photos on a Mac) on your computer, or iCloud or some other cloud (out of service) service or on some sort of USB key or drive hard wireless designed for iDevices, so your images are gone and you can't extract your photos.
Mobile device users forget they are mobile, devices computer and more prone to problems/failures of devices with random data loss and do not have a strategy for storage/recording of data to other sources or sites in order to protect their valuable data on their mobile devices.
Mobile electronic devices aren't as strong and as stable as the most modern computer hardware, like a laptop or desktop.
All data important like the pictures and any remarks important and documents should not be long term stored on a mobile computing device such as a smartphone or a Tablet and must be saved in the long term location a real computer with more than one hard drive for backup or store these data on multiple devices or multiple storage media devices.
Significant data redundancy is key if a peripheral device or mobile storage goes down or something happens to the data.
It is a very sad but strong lesson learned for you and any other person who finds and reads this message.
I'm sorry.

I lost all my photos that were stored on my computer in the folder my pictures in my C drive.
Somewhere, I lost all the photos that I had saved under folders my pictures in my C drive, I don't really know what happened to them, I searched and not the have not found their. I was told that sometimes when things are deleted, they may not necessarily have disappeared from the computer and a person who knows may be able to recover these files. Is it possible and how would I go about this. If you could help me I appreciate it a lot. I hope that they are not lost forever, they are family photos and wouldn't think they are gone forever... Thank you in advance.

Now is the right time to understand why making a regular backup of your data files on an external drive is so important.

I lost all the photos, files and programs, can someone help me please?
I did a system restore (I think) and lost all the photos, files and programs. Can someone tell me please how do I get back them?
LillieLooks like your user profile has been corrupted in some way and XP connected to a new profile. This means that when you connect, you see one of your stuff and can be also lack all the other programs you may have installed previously.
Note that the system restore do not know or care about the personal files on your system.
Unless there's a disaster or instead of a system restore you done a system recovery files would be still on your system somewhere - you just find them... and when you find them, you can correct what happened. If you have made a recovery of the system instead of a system restore, then all is lost and you need to recover from a backup.
Have you performed a search of Windows to see if you can find some of these photos and files? For example, you could search for something like "Resume.doc" or a file name that you remember exactly to see if it is anywhere on your system and where it is.
Why don't you get in Windows Explorer and (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive), navigate to this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings
Below, you will see that each user on your system has their own folder for their personal belongings. You will see also some folders listed user that you do not recognize, but that's normal.
Under the folder of each user, there is another folder, as "Documents of Jose" and under this 'Jose music' and «De Jose Pictures» Dig a little and check them all to see if you can find your missing stuff.
Just take a look in the Control Panel, add/remove programs to see if "missing" programs are still installed, but all not available when you are logged in (you don't have to 'do' something - just look at).
Assuming that you can find your missing stuff, determine where we (which will make feel you better knowing that it is not really gone), then report back and someone can help you straighten things.

all my photos in Lightroom 4 were removed from LR. How do I restore them?
All my photos in Lightroom 4 have been removed. It is now empty. How can I restore them? I have an IMAC computer.
It is possible that you have (accidentally) opened a new catalog. Browse to the file-> open recent, open each catalog that there are listed and see if one of them is the right one.

I've moved the photos on my computer and lost all the corrections in Lightroom
I recently decided that it would be "a good idea" to reorganize my pictures on my computer and hard drive.
It's simply put some in new folders on my computer and the external hard drive root and join others completely turned off the computer, only on the external HARD drive.
Anyway, when I went back in lightroom, I saw that a lot of my photos were grey and saying "cannot locate the original file. I thought nothing of it and started re - synchronize folders.
Once the synchronization is complete I went back into lightroom and noticed that if I was still all my original RAW files all corrections to the disappeared.
Is there anyway to get this back?
Thank you very much in advance for your suggestions!
Synchronize think records the pictures that he found were NINE photos as LIghtroom had never seen before and these photos have so no retouching.
Synchronize is not the way to solve these problems "cannot locate the original file. Indeed, not only does it fail to solve the problem, it does often worse, as you saw.
To go back, the simplest method is to restore a recent backup copy of your Lightroom catalog file before all of this movement of photo files. Find the latest backup of all your photos, and then restore to the original location. Then, everything should work fine, and then we can advise on how better to "reorganize my pictures on my computer and hard drive.

Help! Lightroom has lost all the photos
Using Lightroom 3 on OS x 10.6.8. A 12000 + photos in Lightroom. This is what happened:
I tried to export a picture using export with preset > burn size JPEG.
The program froze, with the beach of rotation ball.
I did a Force Quit, then tried to re - open LR. Received the following message:
I had option but to choose a different catalog. Rebuilt, it opened with an old photograph inside.
When I try to open a catalog I get the following screen, but none of the catalogs connects to the database:
A search shows that all the photos are still in the users folders > pictures > Lightroom then in different folders and collections.
How to get or create a catalog to post a link to the photos on my hard drive? So far it seems no harm done, but the photos are inaccessible.
Geoffrey Luck wrote:
Increasingly more complicated! Add. OLD as suggested did not LR to open the catalog with pictures. Instead, he opened with a single picture, exactly what happened when I first got the accident and responded to a command prompt to open a different catalog. It seems LR keeps pointing to this 'new' catalogue, but why he has a picture in it, I can't explain.
You must manually select the Lightroom 3 original catalog file:
Menu item: file > open catalog
Navigate to this folder and select the file to Lightroom Catalog.lrcat 3 .
Geoffrey Luck wrote:
As to the "edited copies", I checked some of these pictures in sub LR files that were last imported and worked on and found they were modified versions. I had been scanning negatives b & w 60 years of age, and from LR to PES 9 to repair, so I am sure that I look at the modified pictures. I knew that LR edition is non-destructive, but I don't know where the originals were stored.
When you use 'Edit in PS' with 'apply changes to Lightroom"a new file is created with changes in LR & PS. That's what you see. The original files are always in the same place... not shake... not deleted... no written.

Hello
(1) what is the exact error message or the error code you get?
(2) you are able to connect to the screen?
(3) you are able to get into safe mode?
Step 1: Remove the remaining virus from the computer via safe mode.
Please follow the link on how to start the computer in safe mode with network below.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Step 2: Microsoft security scanner:

If the problem persists then create a new user account
Step 3: Create a new user account

I upgraded to el capitan today and I lost all my photos and videos
When I updated today to el capitan, I lost all my videos and photos, I have improved on the hoof so to speak because I was helping a friend unlock their iPad disabled (as I did) but I shot myself in the foot in iPhoto on the left side, I had file on folder of ruby birthdays, Christmas, marriage of my daughter throughout her life so far and my grandson I'm gutted, I've been on the forums today but all I got are more recent who were on iCloud about 100 it is everything.
I can't do with time machine, I can't do it on the other library etc etc please can someone help me tia
Julie
El Capitan provides a new application called, Photos, which you can import them into your iPhoto library. iPhoto will not work in El Capitan, unless you are able to update the version you have now:

Re: Iphoto's gone? I want to go back!
Go to the App Store and check out the shopping list. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1 if she is there, then drag your existing iPhoto application (not the library, just the app) in the trash
Install the application on the App Store.
IPhoto is sometimes not visible on the shopping list. It may be hidden. See this article for more details on how to view it.

A question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto, the application and the iPhoto library are two different parts of the iPhoto program. So, reinstall the application should not affect the library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
