lost all the photos in lightroom?

All of them went into lightroom, perhaps due to the update?

SORRY, I read the answers and actually found it all. Thanks for responding so quickly!

I did a system restore (I think) and lost all the photos, files and programs.  Can someone tell me please how do I get back them?

Looks like your user profile has been corrupted in some way and XP connected to a new profile.  This means that when you connect, you see one of your stuff and can be also lack all the other programs you may have installed previously.

Note that the system restore do not know or care about the personal files on your system.

Unless there's a disaster or instead of a system restore you done a system recovery files would be still on your system somewhere - you just find them... and when you find them, you can correct what happened.  If you have made a recovery of the system instead of a system restore, then all is lost and you need to recover from a backup.

Have you performed a search of Windows to see if you can find some of these photos and files?    For example, you could search for something like "Resume.doc" or a file name that you remember exactly to see if it is anywhere on your system and where it is.

Why don't you get in Windows Explorer and (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive), navigate to this folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings

Below, you will see that each user on your system has their own folder for their personal belongings.  You will see also some folders listed user that you do not recognize, but that's normal.

Under the folder of each user, there is another folder, as "Documents of Jose" and under this 'Jose music' and «De Jose Pictures»  Dig a little and check them all to see if you can find your missing stuff.

Just take a look in the Control Panel, add/remove programs to see if "missing" programs are still installed, but all not available when you are logged in (you don't have to 'do' something - just look at).

Assuming that you can find your missing stuff, determine where we (which will make feel you better knowing that it is not really gone), then report back and someone can help you straighten things.

  • Help! Lightroom has lost all the photos

Using Lightroom 3 on OS x 10.6.8. A 12000 + photos in Lightroom. This is what happened:

I tried to export a picture using export with preset > burn size JPEG.

The program froze, with the beach of rotation ball.

I did a Force Quit, then tried to re - open LR. Received the following message:

    Screen shot 2016-02-23 at 12.18.58 PM.png

I had option but to choose a different catalog. Rebuilt, it opened with an old photograph inside.

When I try to open a catalog I get the following screen, but none of the catalogs connects to the database:

    Screen shot 2016-02-23 at 12.22.52 PM.png

A search shows that all the photos are still in the users folders > pictures > Lightroom then in different folders and collections.

How to get or create a catalog to post a link to the photos on my hard drive?  So far it seems no harm done, but the photos are inaccessible.

    Geoffrey Luck wrote:

Increasingly more complicated! Add. OLD as suggested did not LR to open the catalog with pictures. Instead, he opened with a single picture, exactly what happened when I first got the accident and responded to a command prompt to open a different catalog. It seems LR keeps pointing to this 'new' catalogue, but why he has a picture in it, I can't explain.

You must manually select the Lightroom 3 original catalog file:

Menu item: file > open catalog

Navigate to this folder and select the file to Lightroom Catalog.lrcat 3 .

    Geoffrey Luck wrote:

As to the "edited copies", I checked some of these pictures in sub LR files that were last imported and worked on and found they were modified versions. I had been scanning negatives b & w 60 years of age, and from LR to PES 9 to repair, so I am sure that I look at the modified pictures. I knew that LR edition is non-destructive, but I don't know where the originals were stored.

When you use 'Edit in PS' with 'apply changes to Lightroom"a new file is created with changes in LR & PS. That's what you see. The original files are always in the same place... not shake... not deleted... no written.

  • How do I delete all the photos in Lightroom Mobile?

I would like to delete all the photos in my photo library Lightroom Mobile. A one-step procedure would be ideal.

For background: Lightroom my Office catalog has tens of thousands of photos and hundreds of collections. When I was getting familiar with Lightroom Mobile first, I synced all my photos with the service. It was a mistake; I didn't know that this would result in large amounts of data fill my mobile devices (I thought that the service worked more like Dropbox, OneDrive, etc., where the photos are loaded as needed). My photo library Lightroom Mobile is now much too large to fit on my mobile, and even partially synchronization fills my devices immediately. I want to empty my library and start over.

Select individually each image in the web interface is not a practical solution. It is not as convenient keep all photos in Lightroom on mobile and then delete the unwanted collections of different mobile devices, because it would involve deleting hundreds of events for each mobile device whenever I created Lightroom Mobile. I would like to erase from my library and start again with a small number of collections in sync.

Any advice on how this could be done would be appreciated!

In preferences > Lightroom Mobile, there is a delete all the data button.

  • Hello, I lost all my photos in Lightroom 3

  • I've moved the photos on my computer and lost all the corrections in Lightroom

I recently decided that it would be "a good idea" to reorganize my pictures on my computer and hard drive.

It's simply put some in new folders on my computer and the external hard drive root and join others completely turned off the computer, only on the external HARD drive.

Anyway, when I went back in lightroom, I saw that a lot of my photos were grey and saying "cannot locate the original file. I thought nothing of it and started re - synchronize folders.

Once the synchronization is complete I went back into lightroom and noticed that if I was still all my original RAW files all corrections to the disappeared.

Is there anyway to get this back?

Thank you very much in advance for your suggestions!

Synchronize think records the pictures that he found were NINE photos as LIghtroom had never seen before and these photos have so no retouching.

Synchronize is not the way to solve these problems "cannot locate the original file. Indeed, not only does it fail to solve the problem, it does often worse, as you saw.

To go back, the simplest method is to restore a recent backup copy of your Lightroom catalog file before all of this movement of photo files. Find the latest backup of all your photos, and then restore to the original location. Then, everything should work fine, and then we can advise on how better to "reorganize my pictures on my computer and hard drive.

I found my PC is off and when I turned it back I had no internet connection, without saving restore PC emits flags, and everything was gone. ?  Where it's going and how do I get it back?  It took me two days, but I finally got back, connection to the internet had to re - install Windows 7 home Premium to do it, then able to connect to the internet, but security is still doesn't work so I instaleled! E 9 and Silverlight and now running of security scan as I type this. However, the rest that I mentioned at the beginning is still missing.  Is still on my PC somewhere?

How can we just not on my PC?

    Hi Patrick Froog,.

1 have had any changes made to the computer before the question?
    2. When you say reinstalled windows run you own or custom installation?
    3. What antivirus do you use?

    See the following steps:

    Step 1:
If you performed an installation custom of all the music, photos, will be stored in folder Windows.old.
Data will be present in the following location folder\users\username c:\Windows.old.

Installation and reinstallation of Windows 7

    Step 2:

Viruses are also known to cause this kind of questions. Please scan your computer from a Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expire after 10 days from the date of installation.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Step 3:

Virus would have hidden folders, try to view the folders and check

    Show hidden files

  • I lost all THE photos on the upgrade

Help!  All my thousands of pictures cannot be seen after I got an upgrade.  How can I go back?

    Hi reneeb,.

    Which version go you to?

Upgrading does not delete images or the catalog.

You must find the Lightroom catalog that contains all your changes.

Look under the menu file > open recent item

    Kind regards

  • 10 BlackBerry LOST all the photos after OS update

My Z10 just updated the OS to 10.3.2.440. No problem with the update. All my saved ringtones and pictures disappeared. When I click on pix, it says media card scanning - nada. Nothing is recorded on the device OR media card. I tried the file manager to look at the media card and it displays an icon for a few pictures, but nothing appears.

I have tried a reboot and a battery pull - no joy.

    Help!

Until that moment, I was a big fan of BBZ10 - ATT provider

    Thank you

I recommend you to copy everything off the card of support on your computer. Then reformat the card support in the device using the function format under settings > storage, access and then copy back content in their new folders on the card.

  • I lost all my photos that were stored on my computer in the folder my pictures in my C drive.

Somewhere, I lost all the photos that I had saved under folders my pictures in my C drive, I don't really know what happened to them, I searched and not the have not found their.  I was told that sometimes when things are deleted, they may not necessarily have disappeared from the computer and a person who knows may be able to recover these files.  Is it possible and how would I go about this.  If you could help me I appreciate it a lot.  I hope that they are not lost forever, they are family photos and wouldn't think they are gone forever... Thank you in advance.
