  • Configuration of the browser for blackBerry Smartphones - does not

On older versions of blackberries, you go to browser > options > browser configuartion, but can someone tell me how to do it on the TORCH 9810, or can't you?...

I have a problem with my internet, I connected to a wifi at home but its still using my mobile internet that comes from my contract that I have to change all the settings, but could you tell me some time how do I solve this problem I didn't ant to my use of the internet and to pay more

On your home screen, click on manage connections > connections and networks > Mobile network.  Make sure that your data Services have the value IT.  Now, go back two screens and uncheck the Mobile network at the top.  In this way, you don't use all network data, but you will not receive also calls or texts.  If you leave your Mobile network connection on your BlackBerry should default to your Wi - Fi connection and should not use data from any network.

    I hope that helps you.

  • Access by browser for blackBerry Smartphones

I bought a Torch 9800 Zain Communications, the carrier at the Kuwait, last week. I spent every day with their tech support staff to give me all the wrong reasons why I can not connect via the browser. (I get an error message saying that I need to contact the provider). I can get it Facebook through the application, but nothing when you select browser. Usually, whenever I call their solution is to remove the battery. Finally someone tells me to go to the repair shop of Zains allowed (Mobile 2000) where they barely speak English. They show me a list of people having exactly the same problem, it is several pages long. Repair tell me that no matter what SIMM, chip I use (other carriers) I'm having the same problem. I've updated the de.246 software, all good selections made in the Setup program. I'm ready to go for Android... no solution other than that?

I tried to let people know that this problem is throughout the Arab countries... Follow these steps to solve and try to tell the repair shop with a list of people with the same problem:

First, I put my data plan on my BB Torch and registed sim card in a network in my case Etisalat. Then I took the torch and put it in a different BB that I used my BB "BOLD" where can I use my data sim card. I waited for 6 minutes and waited until I was able to use the browser on my BB bold, then I went to Options, device, system settings, advanced and host Routing Table, then you press the key menu, the one with the sign of hurry bb registry now. After that I got the message saying that I was enrolled in a wireless network, I went to Options, books Service, and inside this folder, I pressed on and held ALT while I typed these letters sbeb Yes here, you should see legacy SB restore active just press ok and then connect to Desktop Manager and back up only the service books , you can choose what you want to return to the top in the custom settings just select the Service books and write browser configs for flashlight to let you know that one to use.

Then I took the sim card from my BB "BOLD" and put it in my flashlight, once the lit torch, I went to Options, device, Service books and in the folder I typed again while pressing ALT sbeb like I did before and press ok. Then connected the torch to the Desktop Manager and restored the file that you create with the configs of browser name for my flashlight, then I turned off the torch and when I turned now, here, I could use my browser.

  • Changing default browser to blackBerry Smartphones for Opera Mini

I would like to change my default browser for Opera mini. Even if Opera has been installed on my BB months ago I can't change it.  I get to the default browser option, but then can't see opera as a choice to change.  There are no choices for change.

    Thanks for any help!

    graygrannyonate,

This is not possible unfortunately. I use Opera Mini as well and because it is a 3rd party software it can be integrated with the rest of applications that are developed by RIM.

  • My torch for blackBerry Smartphones became a brick? Help.

I have an AT & T 9800 I unlocked and use on T-Mobile and last week Thursday July 7, I've updated being two Xobni address book applications, the other was Twitter for BlackBerry v2.0.0.16. When my flashlight restarted after downloading the two apps screen basically everything went black and the red light was then the phone started to reboot again from the beginning. I don't have a day to the new os 6.0.0.600 so I know not who has nothing to do with it, but it's weird that on the eve of this os was released my torch has stopped working. I tried to pull the battery on a million times and leave for a day, then try to start it, now I've been leaving the phone plugged into a power source and just running and constently through the restart process, but never turn on completely.

I've tried everything I can think of and I tried to erase the device through my BlackBerry Protect using my BlackBerry ID application, but it can not connect to my device. I can't seem to get hold of someone at AT & T who can help me, anyone know any options at all for this problem. Thank you.

Mark, I'm sorry to hear about your device problems!

First of all, let's see if we can get your BONES removed from the device by using an application called BBSAK, you can get here.  That que telecharger download on your PC, then plug your device and launch the app BBSAK.  I hope that BBSAK will recognize your device and we will be able to erase the OS so you can recharge.

If it does not, this method, although a bit outdated, has been used successfully many times.  Takes some patience, but it works.

  • Keyboard for blackBerry Smartphones won't work - HELP PLEASE!

My Curve 8900 is less than 6 months old, and suddenly the keyboad won't work, so I can't make/receive calls, and although the trackball works, it won't "click" to unlock. Seems to be an intermittent fault. As I have the Blackberry (it is not purchased via a service provider), I tried to contact customer service for Blackberry UK, who seems reluctant to deal with consumers. My service, O2 have been much more useful. How can I get a warranty repair/replacement, or solve the problem?

Well, after a WEEK, I'm totally furstrated with Blackberry. They have NO customer service in the United Kingdom, and as I have the BB (not through my mobile service provider, with whom I have a single contract SIM) I could get repair/replacement of parts. the only way I knew solving it had to spend many hours in an O2 store in the United Kingdom (my service provider) who finally had sympathy with me and agreed to sent for repair/replecement. I had one today renovated. It seems that this keyboard problem is common - the guy in the O2 shop showed me a way to fix it temporarily, hold down the ALT and right SHIFT buttons and press the DELETE key twice. This gives the BB a battery quick re-difficulty.

But I (and all of my colleagues (will now go to the iPhones, which are more reliable and they give better customer service.)) SHAME on Blackberry for their shoddy products and the non-existenet customer service.

  • Support for blackBerry Smartphones Q5 India

    Hi, (question could be repeated)
Before you buy BlackBerry, I knew that its market is not as varied as android, but to my great disappointment I couldn't find apps 'base' which should have a smartphone. I need a free application map or navigation and to my great disappointment that BlackBerry maps does not work in India, in addition to that google don't provide maps for BlackBerry.
Please tell me is there any map application can attest to BlackBerry? Would be happy to install in my machine.
    Thank you

No, as I said, they are available in Android apps which you call is able to run for the right amount of.
You will need to get them on an Android App store, there is a good app called Snap specially written to help with this...

  • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?

    Hello...

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and fixed (size: 512 MB in your case) space that is available to the House of the OS itself, as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

Now, I get very frustrated that I cannot do anything with my phone!  Help, please!

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums

Yes, it is possible to install the Japanese language on your curve 9220, all you had to do is download a pack of BONES all the language and then install it on your PC, then he had to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to add the Japanese language. You can try this way:

    • (Make sure you download for the same phone model)

    2. download and install the latest version of BlackBerry desktop from here BlackBerry desktop software software

    3. search your drive C: Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml (on the change of your Pc as your records option to show the hidden files/folders):

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Once done open BlackBerry Desktop Software (7.1) > select Applications. > in the section of language and support for entry , select the language to be added to the BlackBerry smartphone (a + will appear next to the language to install) > click apply.

  • Applications for blackBerry Smartphones does not

I've been upgraded to version 6 on my 9300 curve but when I downloaded a few applications, they do not work.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

A little sparse on the details... "they don't work" could mean that they launch, they communicate, or a myriad of other possible symptoms. Accurate description of what you're trying and that happens helps us not to guess.

But, since you have left to guess, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot.

I hope that will move things again for you! Good luck and let us know!

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

    Good luck.
