help consolidate data from several Mac

Hi, I have accumulated years worth of data... text, multimedia files, documents of all kinds - everywhere

a variety of Macs - Mobile Office, Mac mini, iMac - each running 10.6.8 systems or 10.8 +.

My mission, after a new backup of each of these respective volumes - is to gather all the data

of them on a single external hard drive in order to see it all for relevance - after the execution of certain kinds of

Double-eliminator app like Tidy Up or Gemini - and in turn, categorize everything in a logical order in a

all new records.

Before you start what I want to know if I'm going to run into some weird permissions problems or otherwise

having trouble to open any of the data collected on the "new master" HD - and if so, what can I do

to not have this happen.  Back in the day where we could of course just drag and drop an entire volume of HD on

Another HD and find it... who was OS9 and earlier of course.

I am concerned about the content of the data - not applications/utilities - those that are not relevant to this project - this

is to organize information (docs) and multimedia files.  Where also does make sense for only the copy of the files

vs 'everything' - and if so... what would be a good way of singling out and transfer only the data in the

new CD 'master' review?

Regarding permissions, make a read the information on the external hard drive, open the lock and check ignore permissions on this volume.

I wouldn't copy not just Documents, downloads, music, photos, you have.

Tri-Backup may make this task easier.

    I use hidden fields to send the value from one page to another. This method works for a transfer to top, but when I use hidden fields to transfer data from the 2nd to the 3rd page, I lose the data for the 1st page.

  • Collect and display data from several workstations

    Currently, the data in the CSV format locally on several workstations running Labview and the format of the recorded data is the same for each workstation. Data are recorded roughly every 2 minutes at each station and at different times.

    Computers of these stations are connected network but no saves a copy of their files CSV to the server that I know is not ideal, but a part of memory original.  What is now there that a computer on the network brings together these data by workstations and then the poster showing trends in workstations etc. in graphic format and possibly Excel.

    What I'm looking for is some advice on the best way forward.

    I looked at shared variables as a possible solution, but it is work stations send their respective data to the 'central' PC or this PC "questions" workstations that seems inefficient.

    Another thought was using Active X workstations to write in an Excel file running on the "central" PC

    Finally thought that workstations have record their findings to a server and then 'central' PC to access that data, it brings together and then displays the results combined.

    There are several things that remains to be clarified.

    • All LabVIEW programs, individual data record data in the same format and the same number of data points?
    • Record all programs of LabVIEW at exactly the samerate?
    • Are all data on a be saved in a single file of the Machine, or each reading (at intervals of 2 minutes) in a separate file?
    • You are trying to combine data from different machines such that it is collected or after the entire collection was done, and all files have been written?
    • Another that the timestamp of the data file, is there a "time stamp" in (all) the individual data files?
    • If you assume that the data of different machines are more synchronized, you have in mind a way to combine the different readings of the time?  What happens if they are sufficiently different that, say, the Machine has 20 readings more (because it started much earlier) than other PCs?
    • If the machines are not saving at the same rate, how will handle you that?

    A single method, you might consider is to write a program that works on any network connected PC, including a no participate in the recording of data.  For simplicity, assume that each machine "participatant" starts at around the same time, saves exactly at the same rate, written a single data file and has already closed.  If the program "Combining" knows where all data files (because he knows the name of each machine and the location of the file on each machine), it can open all the files, collect all the data and treat it but want to (including a 'combined Excel workbook"writing with a spreadsheet separate for each PC, or combining them all on one sheet).  Just decide what you want to do in the context of the issues raised above.

  • help with printing from a mac with OS 10.6.6 c4780

    I put my new C4780 printer until about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine via USB for about a week.   I couldn't figure how to get wireless working, that's why I bought the printer, but that's for another post.  Last night, it came into fashion 'impression' with nothing happens.  It is with a small doc page it was printing fine last week.   The news indicated printer status window as the 'impression' and the info above indicate "sending data printing... "but nothing happens at all.  I followed the only statements on this topic in the guide provided with the printer - for macs, which is to uninstall the software and then reinstall the software.  OK, boring, but I did it.  And nothing has changed.  :-(please help.  I already threw away the box, since it worked last week, so cannot return. Help, please!

    AH - an update - the file finally printed.  Summary of job info displays the file was sent today 09:13 and ended today at 17:51.  And it was doc word a2-page without numbers or pictures!   Help, please!

    OK, cross in system preferences of the Apple menu in high to the left of your screen.

    If you are using Snow Leopard and you have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD that is not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and had the HP software on your Mac before you upgraded), you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

    Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
    Highlight your device in the left pane
    Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall
    There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
    Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now run a software update.

    Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" driver and software from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

    You will not lose anything from computers unless a problem arises. Backup your data first.

    I want to delete the data of all tables in this database which having device_id = "A1".
    How to do it. 2 questions heres
    (1) there are about 40 tables of the database and do not know what table contained the device_id field.
    (2) we have several such deviced_id should be deleted, for example device_id = 'A1', or device _id = "A2", "A3". can sql read this info from a table and the process?  Thank you

    iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

    For permissions, after you copy the data to the external hard drive, do a Get Info (command - I) on the drive and check for the option ignore the property. If this is not available, unlock the lock and give you read/write permissions. Then, click on the gear down and select apply to included items.

    Normally, all data are stored in your user/home folder, so if you copy the folders that are located in your user/home folder, which should get your data.

    Hello! I get 1250 pixel data and I want to plot the data for each pixel in a different chart. Each time, I get a data word and one word for the address of the pixel just, how do I trace these in an array of graphics? (Or the other table 1 d of 1250 graphics or table 2D 50 25 columns x lines).

    When there was less that I used a case structure and graphics I would wire the address pixel in the selector of the case, now what can I do?

    Practically speaking it is not not possible to see 1250 chart 1 shot so its no need to have a lot of graphics. What we do in this situation is usually to initialize an array of elements of 1250 and replace these items when you receive data in a particular order. At the same time have a ring to control and update the name of items in the same order as you update the table. Now pass the array of values in the index table and connect control of the ring to the terminal index and connect the output to the curve. So when you select an item, you will be able to see the value of this element in particular.

  • Help! Printing from a Mac and C4580

    About 6 months ago I bought a C4580 for wireless printing and it worked perfectly.

    I recently moved into a new apartment and now the printer will not work.  It has an excellent wireless reception and when I run the wireless network test report it says "no problems found".

    But she refuses to print.  When I open the print queue on my Mac Pro I saw the following message

    "Communication failure: the computer is therefore more able to communicate with your printer.

    If I delete the work he suddenly said 'printer ready '.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    For pgostby: PrintDoc mentioned if you are able to access the IP address of the printer, so it's on the network end. I usually find that you need to reset the printer system but to correct on the Mac. You can reset the printing system by clicking right (Ctrl + click) in the column of the printer to print & Fax, and then click Reset. Then just readd the printer by clicking on the sign "more" and select your device.

    I use the Data Export utility in SQL Developer 4.0.1. There is an option to choose a list of tables I want to understand, however in my case, I can get the list of tables by running a query against the USER_TABLES and applying some NOT LIKE filters. How to move this list to the export utility.

    Is it possible to do so.

    for example

    SELECT table_name 
    from user_tables
    WHERE NOT (table_name LIKE 'DOD%' OR table_name LIKE 'DAY%' OR table_name LIKE '%_HIST');
    

    Whatever the result I get is a list of the tables, that I need to export.

    You can not.

    But you can add these tables to a cart (see view > Cart) and passing to the export utility.

    My apologies if the below question has been answered already, just that I couldn't find the relevant discussion.

    I have an interactive report I want to use to display data in 2 tables:

    Table 1 about 10 columns but I want to just see 3 columns, Field1 and Field2 field3.

    Table 2 has about 5 columns and I want only showing 2 of these columns (Column1 and Column2) on the same report with columns in table 1 above.

    I need my report to look like this: field1, Field2 field3 Column1 Column2

    FROM table1, table2

    I tried the example above and it seems to not work, can I please get assistance on how to achieve this.

    Thanks for your reply, I actually found and answer the question.

    I wanted to display the data in 2 tables (views) distinct have no joints, and so therefore I couldn't join them with a join condition.

    What I did was created a dummy field on the two tables with similar values attached tables using these dummy fields and it works perfectly.
