Help: E INTERNET EXPLORING down

I have a Compaq Presario V2000, which was made in 2004 and there is never any problem with this laptop. Now all of a sudden when I connect to E Internet Explorer it gives me an error message that indicates that internet Explorer cannot display this webpage. The network is fine and all the other computers and portable home work properly. I did a diagnostic and it says could not connect using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP and it can be cause by a firewall setting. He also says check HTTP port (80) port (443) HTTPS and FTP port (21), "you may need to contact the manufacturer or your ISP (ISP).

What I thought I did that, but is not certain that it was correct. Also, I can't access my Norton AntiVirus from Symantec but another everthing works fine on my laptop.

In addition, I tried a system restore to an earlier date and it wouldn't let me do. Someone has any ideas whats going on or how it fine?

Thank you for any assistance you can give me.

I took a few suggestion and went to microsoft on another computer for their help and care. They had run me a cmd and the internet worked, but something was blocking it. Then they did some stuff in safe mode. Then the tech himself tapped into the computer and deleted and delete some things but also uninstalled Norton. Norton was not the problem but explain its good but slows down the laptop, taking up half the space of the computer. We installed the care program a microsoft that does everything, including defragmentation, antivirus, backup, and speeds up the computer. What ever viruses and programs that has blocked the internet have been cleared out, plus they got the laptop to work better than when it has been brought to 5 years and performance as the current models. OneCare is, in my opinion the best anti-virus I've had yet. A few Notes explained to me: One Care and McAfee are the best programs out and don't take up space on your computer but, One Care has a 90-day free trail. Two, if you have microsoft products on your computer/laptop microsoft offers free support to solve the problems and the computer, but the problem must be associate microsoft, then if not its hp/compaq or other microsoft programs they charge. Thanks for all the help, support and ideas that they helped. Thank you.

  • With the current caveat regarding internet explorer, your search engine 'google' is safe? If this is not the case, what would the search engine more safe?

Same as above. I am concerned by the help of internet explore right now. I would like your answer.

Firefox is a browser, not a search engine. Also, Internet Explorer is a browser, not a search engine. Google is a search engine (even if they make a browser called Chrome). Firefox is more secure than Internet Explorer, and you should consider moving to this full time. But Google is just a search engine used by Firefox to help you better use the internet and has nothing to do with the security of Firefox in general.

  • Outlook Express is more on my computer after having a problem with Internet Explorer.

I had problems with some clogging Internet exploring down in the middle of a session online so yesterday I installed IE 8 and everything seems to be resolved. Today when I booted up, Outlook Express is no longer on my desktop and I can't list programs. I also have Outlook on my computer and it seems to work very well. A virus check on the site from Microsoft and my virus program shows no virus.  Is Therre a way to recover messages that I had stored in Outlook Express

    original title: Outlook Express disappeared

Go to start | Directed and paste this:

    "c:\program files\outlook express\msimn.exe".

Including the quotes.  If OE starts, then go to tools | Options and make it default.  Alternatively, you can set that as default mail client in Internet Explorer under Tools | Internet Options | Programs.  Outlook has probably hidden or deleted the shortcut and I think that the exe may be hidden.

Your messages should be there anyway.  They are hidden, then go to control panel | Folder options | View and uncheck Hide extensions of known file types and check the show the hidden files and folders option.  Do an advanced search, then include hidden files in the advanced settings and find you the dbx files that takes messages.

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4 and point 13, because Outlook is involved.  See also www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for the background.

  • How will I know if a running Instance of Internet Explorer 10 is 32-bit or 64-bit?

    Hello

I'm running Windows 8 Pro Upgrade of Windows 7 Ultimate.
My taskbar to desktop has two icons for Internet Explorer, it is labeled "Internet Explorer", the other is marked "Internet Explorer (64-bit)".
However, when I check the properties or the other of these two shortcuts, by clicking on the button 'Open file location' takes me to the name and the following path:
    "C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe.
If I understand correctly, all the executables in the "C:\Program Files" are meant to be executable 64-bit, while all the executables in the folder "C:\Program Files (x 86)" are supposed to be 32-bit executables, so so that it would seem that both of these shortcuts are for 64-bit executables.
However, when I run Internet Explorer to one of these two shortcuts, by clicking on "help |" About Internet Explorer"gives me a pop-up dialog box that contains the following information:
    Internet Explore 10
    Version 10.0.9200.16384
    Versions of update: RTM (KB2718695)
    Product ID: 00150-20000-00003-AA459
"Install new versions automatically" is CHECKED
Copyright (C) 2012 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
There is no mention of "64-bit" in Internet Explorer started from one of the two shortcuts.
Now, I just tried a little experiment and created two different shortcuts for Internet Explorer on the desktop of Windows 8.
I called the first of these shortcuts "Internet Explorer (32-bit)", and it's an explicit shortcut to:
    "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Internet.
I called the second of these shortcuts "Internet Explorer (64-bit)", and it's an explicit shortcut to:
    «C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe.»
I then started Internet Explorer from the shortcut of "Internet Explorer (32-bit)", clicked on "help |" About Internet Explorer,"and got a dialog box containing information identical to the above information.
Then I took out the "32-bit" version, then began "64-bit".  By clicking on "help |" About Internet Explorer,"gave me exactly the same information again, with no mention of '64-bit' anywhere in the dialog box.
Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior?
Is this normal, or I found a problem
    ?
The reason I ask is that my program antivirus tech support site States that the latest version does support not entirely Windows 8 and some of Internet Explorer installed by the antivirus program add-ons don't work with the version of Internet Explorer 10 Windows 8, but others do not, but only in the 32-bit Internet Explorer version not the 64-bit version.
Is the antivirus program: Kaspersky PURE 2.0 v12.0.2.733, which is a version updated to make it at least partially compatible with Windows 8.  It is noted that a new version, Kaspersky PURE 3.0, updated in order to give all the features of Windows 8, it is not yet ready and should be published at the beginning of 2013.
Now, I'm having a problem with a particular module of Kaspersky PURE 2.0, which includes an Internet Explorer add-on, and who, according to Kaspersky Support, is supposed to be compatible with the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8.  However, this module does not work, and I need to know what to say Support Kaspersky on my version of Internet Explorer, when the dialog box 'About' is to confuse me information.
That's why I need to know how to say definitively what version of Internet Explorer is running at any given time.
Thanks in advance for any help, advice or suggestions.

    Hello doubleshotva, welcome.

I would recommend that you disable any antivirus software or security on the machine and to do this:

    1. open Internet Explorer
    2. at the top right, click on tools > Internet Options
    3. click on the "Advanced" tab
    4. click on "reset...". "all the way down
5 let it reset all default settings
    6. restart your computer and try to update

    Hello

    (1) what version of Internet Explorer is installed on your computer?

As you talk about the Mac McAfee add-on on the computer that slows down the performance of your Internet Explorer, you can disable this add-on to solve this problem.

You can see this article which helps you to fix the problem.

  • Internet Explorer 8 develops in the memory; use possibly 1.43 gigabytes of RAM; crashes; Help!

So a few days ago I installed Internet Explorer 8. I was sick of IE7 suck as much memory up, nearly 1.5 gigabytes of RAM. But I was wrong, that the upgrade would be useful. Whenever I start IE8, it occupies about 50 000 kilobytes of memory, not so bad. 30 minutes and 15 pages later, Internet Explorer is up to 400,000, that's not that bad, right? Nope. 45 minutes later, Internet Explorer is slowing down and using a whooping kilobytes 1.43 million, almost 3/4 of my RAM. 1 minute later, IE8 works all together. My first suspicions lead me to believe that modules * have been behind this madness, I have so removed and uninstalled all the. Did not work. Delete all temporary files. No beef. I searched the web for answers, but I found nothing. The problem is so boring that I use my old Sony VAIO, instead of my Vista. Help, please!

    LVMaxfield,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

Here are some things you can try to solve this problem.  It is not normal that IE, either 7 or 8.

Try running IE8 with disabled modules. First make sure that all instances of
IEXPLORE. EXE are completed in the Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc your)
keyboard, processes tab, complete the IEXPLORE process all. (EXE).

Go to start > programs > Accessories > system tools > Internet Explorer (No.)
Add ons) to start IE8 without any add-ons. Try to use the browser and see if
    It works now.

If it's work, start IE8 normally, go to tools (if the menu bar
does not appear, press the ALT of the keyboard) > manage add-ons. Here,
Disable all add-ons that you need not under "currently loaded.

In addition to the above, you can try to disable the protection of memory of IE8 and
see if it helps. Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > advanced > under
'Security', uncheck the box "enable memory protection help ease online
    attacks > OK

Otherwise, you can use the free Microsoft for IE8 phone Support

  • Today I've updated Internet Explorer v 11 & now not fully functional simplepass. Help!

Hi everyone, it is just my first post s I hope it's in the right place.

I have 3 questions & I hope the answers to sort my problems.

Q1: My laptop has only 5 days. Envy 17-j053ea model. SimplePass is c. 6.0.100.276. My OS is Windows 8 & everything was great on each ite I put my user name & p / w. see windows 8.1 upgrade was free, I've updated this afternoon. I see my p/w limited in simplepass window, but on most of my sites that I revisited, simplepass appears. I even deleted the u/n and p/w in simplepass window & then logged on to the site & waited for simplpass to ask if I wanted to save these details, only to get nothing. However, when I arrived at the help HP simplepass illuminated site & I spent my finger & it worked as expected. Someone here has answered another question by saying: 'try to update simplepass' & mention there are 2 versions, a v8 & v6. So how d I update simplepass when v6 interface hasnothing mentioning "update."

Q2: I have a HP DV7-6series lapop model & all u / n & p / w have been stored in a folder in my documents & so I was able to keep a copy on a memory stick. This new version has not created a folder in my documents & I can't find the file with all my stored info. If someone can tell me what file is use v6 to store all this information in?

Q3: & Finally, where are the new connection information stored in my new windows 8.1?

    I'm waiting for your answers...

    PJ57,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

The issue did appear when you updated to Windows 8.1?

    OR

The issue did appear when you updated your Internet Explorer to v11?

    First thing to try:

    • Close all your programs and shut down your computer
    • Unplug everything (little unifying for the keyboard / mouse external can stay)
    • Perform the Hard Reset for your laptop
    • Start the computer and connect

    Q1 update and the question

    Question

    • The database for SimplePass is sensitive to change - he doesn't like the changes made to the configuration of the browser, he dislikes the file system changes, he dislikes login pages which do not correspond to a limited set of rules, he doesn't like the weather changes.  He hates in particular during its creation has been shaken by a change in the operating system.
    • In some cases the above mentioned Hard Reset can solve the problems with the database.
    • You can also try to use repair on the program itself as shown in the linked guide at the bottom of this post.  Repair is essentially an overload of the program on top of itself without first uninstalling the program.
    • You could try to import a backup copy of your most recent Webcard (.tsd file), although you should try the Hard Reset and repair before you apply the backup file; applying a backup of a database of puree probably won't do anything.
    • You could try to "set as default" on your Internet Explorer - we don't know if it's the root of the problem, but after other remedies cause be if applies, it may be useful to do.  Be SURE that you export your Favorites and everything you want to keep to IE before applying the zero setting.

    Update

    • There are mainly two versions of SimplePass running on Windows 7 to Windows 8.1.
    • HP SimplePass version 6.x can work with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and perhaps others, if they exist.
    • HP SimplePass version 8.x like Internet Explorer.  At one point he can make friends with other browsers and for some people these browsers may even work with V8.x SimplePass now - others among us, is not-so-good.
    • HP SimplePass version 8.x is a different edition of the HP SimplePass family - this version is written by Softex.  HP SimplePass V8.x provides a simplified interface to SimplePass as well as basic functions as seen in the Group of programs AuthenTec (6.x).   The 8.x interface may seem less robust for those who are used to V6.x.
    • There are key differences between these two versions - one of the most notable changes is the use of a completely different export base by the new program version 8.x.  This means that your export file .tsd with HP SimplePass Version 6.x (passwords and website backup) cannot be used with all of the programs SimplePass version 8; you will have to start from the beginning and add your websites and passwords manually.  For this reason, it is advised that you know your Web sites and passwords before changing the version of HP SimplePass.
    • Instructions to upgrade from Version 6.x to Version 8.x are included in the guide linked at the bottom of this post.

    Backup folder Webcard Q2

I don't know the answer to this question in the context of data how raw on the system can be used: the method of backup of webcards (websites and passwords) is to use the export from the HP SimplePass program to create the .tsd file.

    Login for Windows Q3

    • What is your background?
    • Some of the identity of the user information is stored in

    C:\Users\YourUserID\AppData\Local\Packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe

Nothing that I know is useful in a form of faw, and most of us, including me, do not have the tools to dive in the file beyond a certain point system.

It's a nice way of saying 'Thank you' for help.

  • Computer slows way down after trying to open internet explorer, then will not be closed.

I look through the posts and have not found someone who had my same problem still. I hope someone can help me. A few weeks ago, I bought a new gateway laptop and it has Windows 7. It works great until a few days ago. Day before yesterday, I tried to open Internet Explorer 8 and I just got a white screen with the border of IE, but it did not open a page or anything like that. I opened the Task Manager and allows to close the IE. I had that happen in the past (in XP) when I tried to open internet until the computer is carried out all the stuff at the start of the loading. Thinking that was the problem, I tried to open IE again. This time I just got the little thing of circle of rotation for a few seconds, as he was trying to do something, but nothing happened. I then tried to restart the computer. He says "disconnect" for a few minutes, then "shutting down" for about half an hour until I finally pressed right on the power button to turn it off. I have it turned on and had the same problem again. I even tried to open another program (Word) to see if it would work. Finally opened, it was ridiculously slow. I checked the process and it is said there are CPU usage 0. However, he acts like something using all the memory. My next step was to remove the battery. I took it out for a few minutes, restarted in safe mode, and the computer works perfectly. I then restarted it regularly. It seemed to work fine. I opened Word again and she appeared right as usual. So then I tried to open internet. I had the same problem as before, and then the computer slowed to a crawl and would not shut down. Thinking maybe it was just IE, I rebooted in safe mode with network and my internet works perfectly. I downloaded Firefox (in safe mode), perhaps hoping it would work. But when I rebooted, I always had the same problem. Everything worked fine when I got it in safe mode, even on the internet. If someone has had this problem before, please help! I just bought the computer a few weeks ago and it's very frustrating.

    Hi tonirose19

    ·         As the problem does not occur in safe mode, try to start the computer to the boot in order to check if any third-party application is causing the problem. To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Steps to perform the clean boot and check if you have the problem.

    i. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

II. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

III. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

IV. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.

    v. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click disable all.

    VI. click OK.

VII. When you are prompted, click restart.

VIII. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If the problem is resolved check what third party causing the problem, referring to the link given below: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    i. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

II. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

III. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.

IV. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

    ·         Even run an online scanner to check any malware or virus activity. Links below will help you launch the free scan on the computer.
